Avalanche, Cale Makar agree to largest contract in NHL history

The Avalanche and Makar officially agreed to terms on an eight-year, $163.2 million contract extension on Friday.

The contract begins in the 2027-28 season and carries a $20.4 million average annual value, which surpasses Macklin Celebrini for the largest in NHL history.
