Blue Jays recall CJ Van Eyk, DFA Simeon Woods Richardson
The Toronto Blue Jays are making a change in their bullpen ahead of a weekend series against the Seattle Mariners.
Right-hander CJ Van Eyk has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo and will be active for Friday’s game, while fellow right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson has been designated for assignment, the Blue Jays announced.
Van Eyk, a second-round pick by the Blue Jays in 2020, has pitched in three games for Toronto this year, allowing three earned runs in 11.2 innings.
Woods Richardson, reacquired by the Blue Jays in a June trade with the Minnesota Twins, had a 3.93 ERA in eight games (18.1 innings) for Toronto this year.
