CAF Appoints Gabonese Referee For FC San Pedro vs Rivers United Champions League Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a Gabonese officiating team for the CAF Champions League preliminary-round first-leg match between FC San Pedro of Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria’s Rivers United.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro.

Kick-off is set for 4:00 pm local time, which is 5:00 pm Nigerian time.

Gabonese referee Cregue Flaury Moukagni has been appointed as the centre referee for the encounter.

He will be assisted by his compatriots Amos Abeigne Ndong and Junior Assoughe, while Pierre Ghislain Atcho will serve as the fourth official.

Beninese official Innocent Atindehou has been appointed as the Match Commissioner, with Algeria’s Mohamed Lamine Benaissa serving as the Referee Assessor.

The match is part of the first-leg preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.

Rivers United will be hoping to secure a positive result in Côte d’Ivoire before the return leg in Nigeria as they begin their campaign in Africa’s biggest club competition.
