Overwatch Season 4 is almost upon us, introducing brand-new changes and even complete overhauls to Blizzard’s beloved PvP FPS hero shooter. This will arguably be the biggest update since the game reverted to Season 1 following a branding rollback from “Overwatch 2”.

Overwatch Season 4 file size, launch and countdown explored
The update can be pre-loaded on Battle Net on PC up until launch, and is approximately 6.2 GB. Season 4 officially launches on August 11, 2026 at 11 AM PT. Here’s the countdown to keep track of each passing moment:
What to expect from Overwatch Season 4?
The update is massive, introducing the following changes and additions on top of a new Battle Pass, new cosmetics, and more:
- New Tank hero “D.MON“, who uses a mech similar to the other Tank character D.VA.
- New Hero Mythic Skin: Koi of Duality for Genji.
- New Weapon Mythic Skin: Eternal Crystal for Sojourn.
- Battle Pass revamp, including the return of older Battle Passes to keep permanently.
- Map reworks for Busan, Eichenwalde, and Paraiso.
- Competitive Rank Reset alongside the introduction of a new “Emerald” Rank.
- New events including Team Drives and Shooting Star: My Meka Mania
- New Overwatch x LE SSERAFIM collab
Overwatch Season 4 will be on all platforms, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
