Courtland Sutton says ‘everyone knows’ Broncos should be in Super Bowl

After losing starting quarterback Bo Nix to a season-ending ankle injury, the Denver Broncos bowed out of the NFL playoffs following a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

Fill-in quarterback Jarrett Stidham had two crucial turnovers that essentially decided the AFC title game, and there seems to be a feeling in Broncos Country that the game would have gone differently had Nix been healthy.

It seems that Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has endorsed that notion.

“I have gotten over the situation,” Sutton said during an interview with Guerilla Sports at the Pro Bowl earlier this week. “I told my boy, I said, ‘Maybe after the game, I’ll get over it.’ Once the Super Bowl ends, I’ll get over it — but best of luck to both of those teams going out there performing, doing their thing. You know, everyone knows the Broncos should have been in there, but it’s all right.”

After squeaking by the Broncos, the Patriots are now set to face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Denver’s schedule of 2026 opponents includes a trip to New England, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see that game given a prime-time spotlight.
