Dane Miller’s NCAA Bracket Analysis for Teams in the West
The field is set for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
With 11 teams from the West or aligned with conferences in the region making the Big Dance, there’s plenty to discuss.
The issues include controversy surrounding seeding, brackets, and placement within the four regions.
I break down each team’s position below and give a short preview of each program’s outlook.
Arizona
1 seed — West Region
The Wildcats face a challenging path to the Final Four. Receiving the No. 1 seed in the West was expected, but the top half of the bracket is tough.
A Second-Round matchup against either Villanova or Utah State won’t be easy. The Aggies are better than a 9-seed and would have a decent fan presence in San Diego.
After that, the most likely matchup is Wisconsin or Arkansas in the Sweet 16. There’s history with the Badgers and the Razorbacks, who just won the SEC Tournament.
If Tommy Lloyd gets his team all the way to the Elite 8, the potential matchups are Purdue, Gonzaga, or BYU.

That’s a moderately tough draw for the No. 2 overall seed. But in some ways, it doesn’t matter who Arizona plays.
In 1997, the Wildcats beat three 1-seeds and won the National Championship. And in 2001, the Cats beat two 1-seeds before losing to 1-seed Duke in the finals.
If this team is going to do something special, they must beat all the lower seeds they play, regardless of how good those teams actually are.
The perception around Arizona is that it always underperforms in March. It’s up to Lloyd and this year’s team to prove that reputation wrong.
Gonzaga
3 Seed – West Region
Gonzaga is the 3-seed in the West and has a somewhat favorable path to the Sweet 16. Landing in the West region was key because it put the Zags in Portland for the first two rounds.
The Bulldogs should take care of Kennesaw State and will probably face BYU in the Round of 32. The Cougar fans travel well, though, and will likely show out for the game.
Michigan State and Illinois are the other 3-seeds that might have easier paths. But Virginia arguably has a tougher draw than Gonzaga.
At the end of the day, the placement is roughly in line with expectations and might even be a seed higher than some were predicting.
Staying out West could turn out to be a deciding factor. Purdue seems like a vulnerable 2-seed, and there’s potential for an Elite 8 matchup with Arizona.
The knock on Gonzaga, however, is that they haven’t beaten any great teams this year.
Many might pick them to be upset in the Second Round, and a run deeper than the Sweet 16 would be unexpected.
BYU
6 Seed – West Region
Staying out West might be the reason BYU ends up in the Sweet 16.
The only other option was the South Region, where the winner of the 6-seed vs. 11-seed game is likely to get a matchup with Illinois.
Instead, the Cougars get a potential showdown with Gonzaga. From an objective standpoint, Gonzaga is an easier opponent than Illinois this year.
Avoiding the South Region also prevented a potential matchup with Houston in the Sweet 16. But that’s where the good news ends.
The 6-seeds have not performed well against 11-seeds. It’s one of the most common upsets in the entire tournament.
And to make matters worse, the Cougars have to face one of the teams from the First Four, a group that’s known to make runs.
All that without even mentioning the potential opponents: NC State or Texas. Most are surprised that the Wolfpack were forced into the First Four, and the Longhorns are capable.
It might be a trendy upset pick to have BYU losing in the First Round. But if the Cougars can avoid the stumble, they are good enough to beat Gonzaga and reach the Sweet 16.
Then, who knows?
Purdue is a tough second-weekend opponent, and BYU was swept by Arizona during the regular season.
UCLA
7 Seed – East Region
The seeding is not as much of an issue for UCLA. It’s the region. Getting shipped off to the East was the worst-case scenario.
The Bruins have struggled outside the Pacific Time Zone and would have much preferred to be out West.
The matchup with UCF is one of the more difficult 10-seeds, too. Santa Clara would certainly have been an easier draw, and even Missouri or Texas A&M might have been preferable.
The Second-Round matchup would be even worse. Playing UConn in Philadelphia is a nightmare. If the matchup were to be played in San Diego or Portland, the Bruins would have a stronger chance.

But facing Dan Hurley in the Eastern Time Zone is a problem. That could be where UCLA’s season comes to an end.
There may be an argument that the Bruins should have been as high as a 6-seed. UCLA has several respectable Big Ten wins over Purdue, Illinois, Nebraska, and Michigan State.
There are some injury concerns, but that’s not enough to justify the 7-seed. And definitely not in the East bracket.
It’s hard to see UCLA getting to the Sweet 16. But if it does get passed UConn, then it’s good enough to get to the Elite 8.
Saint Mary’s
7 Seed – South Region
After losing to Santa Clara in the Semifinals of the WCC Tournament, it’s not much of a surprise to see Saint Mary’s as a 7-seed.
There’s no doubt that avoiding the 8 or 9-seed line was a positive outcome. The opening matchup against Texas A&M is not the worst, either.
The SEC is perpetually overrated, and the Gaels are favored to win the game. The fact that the contest is in Oklahoma City does slightly favor the Aggies, though.
But looking past the first game, Houston is looming in the Round of 32.
Of all the 7-seeds, the Gaels might have the toughest path to the Sweet 16. UConn and Purdue are both more vulnerable than Kelvin Sampson’s team.
UCLA and Miami each received more favorable draws than Saint Mary’s. Yet, that’s what happens when you don’t take care of business in a mid-major conference and have no marquee nonconference wins.
Utah State
9 Seed – West Region
The Aggies are under-seeded. The Committee messed up. Plain and simple.
The Regular Season and Tournament Champions of the Mountain West are not a 9-seed under any objective measuring stick. The Committee viewed Saint Mary’s as worthy of being two seed lines higher.
The difference shows just how little the Mountain West was respected this year. Blame that on the league’s horrible nonconference results.
But falling to the 9-seed might be the price that was paid to stay in the West. Yet, getting matched up with Villanova was no favor.
TCU and Saint Louis both received more favorable opening round games than Utah State did. And that’s without even mentioning Arizona, the No. 2 overall seed that looms in the Round of 32.
Maybe the only positive outcome is the location of the opening round. Getting to play in San Diego should give Utah State an advantage over Villanova.
If the Aggies advance to face Arizona, it will be a different story. But the Vegas oddsmakers like USU in the First Round.
Regardless, the Aggies should have been a 7-seed.
It’s hard to see Utah State getting to the second weekend with this much of an unfavorable draw.
Santa Clara
10 Seed – Midwest Region
Santa Clara got a good draw with a matchup against Kentucky in the First Round. The Wildcats are not the same program that they used to be, and the game might be the most common upset pick of the Tournament.
The contest is in St. Louis, which does moderately favor Kentucky. Yet, the 10-seed line is not bad considering that some were predicting that Santa Clara would end up in the First Four.

The potential Second-Round matchup with Iowa State is a problem, though. The Cyclones have Final Four potential and won’t overlook the Broncos if they beat Kentucky.
Even so, out of all the 10-seeds, Santa Clara got one of the better draws. Kentucky is an easier opponent than UCLA or Miami. The SEC is mostly hype and the Broncos have a reasonable chance to advance to the Second Round.
Then, Santa Clara will likely need to play its best game in several years to upset Iowa State in the Round of 32.
Hawai’i
13 Seed – West Region
The Warriors received the auto-bid from the Big West in their final year in the Conference. Staying in the West region was a great outcome, even if the opening game is a tough draw.
Arkansas just won the SEC Tournament and is coached by the legendary Jim Calipari. It’s not impossible for a 13-seed to pull off an upset, but it seems unlikely considering the opponent.
The game being in Portland helps, and there’s no doubt the crowd will be on Hawaii’s side. Yet, it’s probably a one-and-done for the Big West Champions.
If anything, it sets the stage for a successful transition to the Mountain West next season.
Cal Baptist
13 Seed – East Region
It took a miracle to get here. So why can’t the dream continue?
Cal Baptist was given a respectable 13-seed only to be pitted against a Big 12 opponent. Kansas has been up and down all season, yet the Jayhawks are a tough draw.
KU is more talented, more athletic, and better coached. To beat them, the Lancers must hit their threes. And a lot of them.
The game being played in San Diego is certainly favorable. A Southern California team playing in Southern California against a blue blood is a recipe for an upset.
The crowd will be foaming for a Cal Baptist win.
Other than the opponent drawn, CBU was treated surprisingly respectably by the Selection Committee. Staying out West and playing 1.5 hours away from campus is a clear nod to the season the Lancers have played.
Nobody is expecting this to be an upset, which is exactly why it might happen.
North Dakota State
14 Seed – East Region
The Bison won the Summit League Tournament and get a matchup with Michigan State in Buffalo.
The seed line is somewhat questionable after the Committee gave Cal Baptist a 13-seed and let the Lancers stay in Southern California.

After winning the Summit League Regular Season and securing the auto-bid, you would have expected the Committee to show a little more respect.
But if NDSU can upset the Spartans, then a magical Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 is not out of the question.
Both Louisville and South Florida are beatable if North Dakota State is good enough to take down MSU.
Idaho
15 Seed – South Region
Out of all the 15-seeds, Idaho received the toughest draw.
Houston is arguably the strongest 2-seed in the field, and the matchup is in Oklahoma City.
It’s very rare for this matchup to result in an upset. And it’s even less likely with Kelvin Sampson on the other bench.
It was a magical run to win the Big Sky Tournament and make the Big Dance. But the story likely ends in the First Round.

It’s unclear if New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler deals with the fear, but he made sure that the insect was taken care of before a spring training game.
Schlittler called security to get a spider out of his locker before the team took on the Detroit Tigers, according to the YES Network. Schlittler didn’t pitch in the game as the Yankees fell to the Tigers, 12-1.
“A spider was successfully extracted from my locker today. Best security team in the league!” he wrote on X.

The young pitcher has started two games in spring training this year. He has a 1.50 ERA and 10 strikeouts.
When everyone is healthy, Schlittler is set to rejoin a rotation with Max Fried, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon for the 2026 season.

Report: NBA taking step toward expansion in Seattle, Las Vegas
The NBA could be headed west.
A vote to explore adding expansion teams in Las Vegas and Seattle will occur at the Board of Governors meetings later in March, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Monday.
The franchises would aim begin play in the 2028-29 season, and there is “momentum” toward approval on bids for the teams that could reach $10 billion, per Charania.
Expansion would still require one more vote later this year to finalize the move to 32 teams.
In both voting rounds, 23 of 30 team governors must vote in favour in order for the motions to pass.
The NBA has not expanded since 2004, when the then-Charlotte Bobcats joined the league.
Seattle had an NBA team, the SuperSonics, in town from 1967 to 2008 before the franchise was purchased and relocated to Oklahoma City, where it became the Thunder.
Las Vegas has never had an NBA franchise, though the NHL and NFL both added teams in the Nevada city in recent years. Las Vegas hosts the NBA’s annual Summer League.

Jessie Buckley’s acceptance speech explored as she wins Best Actress for Hamnet
Jessie Buckley won the Best Actress award at the Oscars 2026 for her role in Hamnet. She played the role of Agnes Shakespeare, wife of William Shakespeare, in the adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel.
This was her second nomination at the Oscars, having competed for the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in The Lost Daughter in 2022. However, Sunday marked her first win, and she also became the first Irish person to win the Best Actress Award at the Oscars.
After the Oscars win, Jessie Buckley expressed her gratitude towards her co-actors and everyone involved in the making of Hamnet. She also thanked her family, saying:
“Thank you so much. This is…this is really something. Thank you to the incredible women that I stand beside; I am inspired by your art and your heart, and I want to work with every single one of you. To the producers who created this ship for us to stand in, and my shipmates for life—Hilda, Jessica, Lindsey, Zack—none of this is possible without you.”
She thanked her husband, Freddie Sorensen, and their daughter, whom they welcomed in December last year, saying:
“You, Fred, I love you man. I love you; you’re the most incredible dad. You’re my best friend, and I want to have 20,000 more babies with you, I do. I do! And Isla, my little girl who is eight months, who has absolutely no idea what’s going on and is probably dreaming of milk, but this is kind of a big deal, and I love you and I love being your mom, and I can’t want to discover life beside you.”
Buckley further expressed gratitude to Maggie O’Farrell and the film’s screenwriters. She thanked them for the role of Agnes and shared how it helped her explore mothership even further. She concluded her speech by saying:
“It’s Mother’s Day in the U.K. today, so I would like to dedicate this to the beautiful chaos of a mother’s heart. We all come from a lineage of women who continue to create against all odds. Thank you for recognizing me in this role. This is the greatest honor. I can’t even believe it.”
Apart from Oscars, Buckley’s performance in Hamnet has also earned nominations at the Baftas, Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice, and Actor awards this year.

Jessie Buckley spoke about women who’ve inspired her last year

Elle named Jessie Buckley as one of its Women in Hollywood honorees in November last year. As the outlet celebrated her journey and achievements, the actress also spoke about how she has been inspired by many other women in the industry. She said:
“Frances McDormand, Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, and Laura Dern. What they play is so full. They’re not playing something to appeal. They’re playing a life that is complex and rich and uncomfortable and challenging and provocative.”
She said that these women taught her to be “ruthless” and “know herself”. Jessie Buckley has also starred in the likes of Wicked Little Letters and The Bride!
Meanwhile, Hamnet was released in November last year. It shares the story of William Shakespeare and Agnes’s son dying at a young age, which led to the writer’s iconic play, Hamlet.

Akwa United Send ‘Thank You’ Message to Fans After Victory Over Sporting Lagos
Akwa United FC have expressed appreciation to their supporters after their important win against Sporting Lagos FC in the Nigeria National League.
The Promise Keepers defeated Sporting Lagos 1–0 in their Matchday 14 clash at the Uyo Township Stadium on Sunday, March 15, 2026, a result that strengthened their position at the top of NNL Conference B.

The morning after the match, the club shared photos of the crowd on social media and thanked fans for their strong support during the game.
“A big thank you to all our amazing fans who came out in large numbers to support us in our Matchday 14 victory over Sporting Lagos at the Uyo Township Stadium.
“Your energy, loud cheers, and the sound of the vuvuzelas have truly turned the Uyo Township Stadium into a fortress. Playing at home has become a delight for our players because of the incredible atmosphere you create every matchday. Your unwavering support is a big reason behind our strong home form this season.
“We sincerely appreciate your passion and commitment to the team.

“But the job is not done yet. The season is still on, and we need your continued support as we push towards promotion back to the NPFL.
“Keep the support coming. It’s not over yet. Let’s do this together.”
Akwa United secured the win through a first-half penalty converted by Charles Etim.
The visitors started the game brightly, pressing high in the early minutes. However, Akwa United gradually settled into the match and began to create chances.
Churchill Nnana headed a corner narrowly wide in the 11th minute, while Esonwanne Gift saw his chip saved in the 26th minute. Daniel Gothom also tested the goalkeeper with efforts in the 28th and 30th minutes.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Akwa United were awarded a penalty after a defender handled a cross inside the box. Charles Etim stepped up two minutes later and calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to give the hosts the lead.
Akwa United thought they had doubled their advantage in the 36th minute when Ndifreke Etim found the net, but the goal was ruled out for an infringement in the build-up.
The home side continued to push in the second half. Aniebiet Sunday forced a save in the 47th minute, while Ndifreke Etim saw another attempt saved three minutes later.
Coach Paul Offor later introduced fresh legs, bringing on Michael Okenwa, Oladimeji Dada and Yannick Menegbe as Akwa United looked to maintain their advantage.
Despite late attempts, including efforts in the 82nd and 86th minutes, the score remained unchanged as the Promise Keepers held on to secure the win.
The victory moved Akwa United to 28 points from 14 matches, extending their lead at the top of Conference B to four points.
The strong support from fans has also helped make the Uyo Township Stadium a difficult ground for visiting teams, with Akwa United winning seven of their eight home matches this season while conceding just one goal.
Akwa United will next face Godswill Akpabio United FC in an away fixture on March 25, 2026, as they continue their push for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Gambling Responsibly
When using gambling sites, be aware that they can be addictive, so please take steps to remain in control of your time and budget.
The same applies whether you’re using slot sites, casino apps, poker sites, bingo sites, or any other gambling medium.
Even the most knowledgeable punter can lose a bet, so always stick to a budget and never chase your losses.
It’s particularly important not to get carried away by any free bet offers or casino offers you might receive, both of which are available in abundance on new online casinos, but must be approached with caution.
You can stay in control by making use of the responsible gambling tools offered, such as deposit limits, loss limits, self-exclusion and time-outs.

Harry Maguire and Casemiro both backed for another year at Manchester United
Leny Yoro would love influential Harry Maguire and Casemiro to extend their Manchester United stays beyond the end of the season.
The Red Devils are well placed for Champions League qualification having won seven of their nine matches since Michael Carrick was named head coach for the remainder of the campaign in January.
Maguire, 33, and Casemiro, 34, have started every one of those matches but, like the popular head coach, are out of contract with third-placed United in the summer.
There is a lot to sort out behind the scenes in the coming weeks and months, but Yoro would like the experienced duo to stay at Old Trafford.
“Yeah, of course, having Harry in the team is good for us,” the 20-year-old centre-back said of Maguire.
“If he can stay next season, it’s really good for us, so I hope he’s going to extend his contract and he can stay with us. We’ll see, we’ll see anyway.”
On Casemiro, who United fans chanted to stay for “one more year” after the Brazilian opened the scoring in Sunday’s key 3-1 win against Aston Villa, Yoro said: “Everyone wanted him to stay.
“He’s a really important player for us, he showed it again today. Even in the dressing room, every day, he has the experience that no one else has in the team.
“He won everything, so this helped us a lot in the games and even outside the pitch.”
Former Real Madrid star Casemiro confirmed he was leaving in January, just days after Carrick’s first game in charge, so looks less likely to sign a new deal than Maguire.
The defender, who is hoping for an England recall this week, has established himself as a key player having experienced high and lows since his £80million move from Leicester in 2019.
Maguire put in a solid display as United overcame Champions League rivals Villa on Sunday, with defensive partner Yoro full of praise for him having overcome a shaky spell of his own at the end of 2025.
“I think every player has this phase in a season,” the defender, now in his second campaign with United, said.
“Sometimes you have bad moments, bad performances, and I’m happy to do good games now, to rebound well, so I’m just happy with the result.”
Asked if playing alongside players like Maguire helps, Yoro said: “Of course, of course. With all the experiences he has, he gave a lot of tips, he spoke to me a lot on the pitch, so this helped me a lot.
“He always speaks with me, like with the striker, sometimes he speaks before the game, or at half-time, about positioning as well, so playing with him is really good for me.
“We speak a lot. Even before the game, during the week, we speak a lot about the opponent.”
Yoro hopes the adversaries United are talking about next season are Champions League clubs as they push to end a rare, and costly, campaign without European football on a high.
“I think every player wants to play Champions League, especially when you play for United,” he added.
“This club has to play the Champions League, so hopefully we’re going to get it next season.”

Kieffer Moore: Wrexham striker out of Wales’ World Cup play-offs
Wrexham striker Kieffer Moore has been ruled out of Wales’ World Cup play-offs with a hamstring injury.
The 33-year-old had been a major doubt since sustaining a tendon split during the FA Cup defeat against Chelsea earlier this month.
Having missed subsequent Championship matches against Hull City and Swansea City, Moore is not expected to return to action until April.
That means he will be unavailable for Wales’ World Cup play-off semi-final against Bosnia-Herzegovina on 26 March and, if they win that game, their play-off final against Italy or Northern Ireland five days later.
“Kieffer’s not going to be right for the internationals, which is a blow for him and for Wales,” said Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson.
“He’s got this tendon injury which he feels OK with, but he’s shown up on the scan and it’s one of those injuries that, up to 80-85% you’re fine, but if you extend beyond that you make yourself susceptible to muscle injuries.”

How the USMNT 2026 World Cup kits came to be after 2022 criticism
The U.S. World Cup team this summer will wear uniforms it helped design — a process that began with discontent at a photo shoot before the last tournament.
“The team wasn’t too fond of the [uniforms] we were going to be wearing [in Qatar], just because we didn’t feel it represented us necessarily and the country as we’d like,” midfielder Tyler Adams, the 2022 U.S. World Cup captain, said recently. “When you have an opportunity to represent your country at a World Cup … you just want to love the kit.”

They did not love the kit, which is soccer parlance for uniform.
And they were not going to do the photo shoot, Adams said, unless they were given a voice in designing their 2026 uniforms. Nike and the U.S. Soccer Federation agreed.

As part of a multiyear collaboration, the group came up with two designs: wavy red stripes with blue trim over a white shirt (known as the Stripes kit) and a “dark obsidian” (black) shirt with shiny stars and red trim (the Stars kit). Both feature original fonts and the USSF’s “The Best of U.S.” ethos stitched inside the back below the neckline.

The marketing campaign began Monday, and the players will wear each kit in the friendlies in Atlanta against Belgium on March 28 and Portugal on March 31 — the final camp before Mauricio Pochettino names his World Cup squad May 26.
What did the players want in their new jerseys?
“For me, it was simple: I want something that’s timeless,” Adams said. “I want to have that kit you look back at in 30 years and you’re like, ‘That’s still the best one.’ … It’s pretty straightforward: You have to have stars and stripes of some sort. They represent us perfectly.”
Striker Folarin Balogun concurred.

“I wanted it to be something when you’re gifting the jersey to friends and family, and they’re wearing it, they’re excited and they have the feeling this jersey is extremely unique,” he said. “And as we’re one of the host nations, there was a big emphasis to make sure it stood out from the other nations.”
For the first time, all 27 teams under the USSF’s umbrella, including women and youth, will wear the same uniforms this year, the federation said. The women’s senior team is expected to give input on a special design ahead of the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.

The men’s reaction to the 2026 kits is a far cry from the 2022 unveiling, when the players had no say in a plain white shirt with some red and blue and a deep blue jersey with black blobs.

“We just as angry as y’all,” winger Tim Weah, agreeing with fan criticism, wrote on social media at the time.
“Tried to tell them,” posted midfielder Weston McKennie, adding a crying emoji.
In his recent interview with reporters, Adams said in general he doesn’t “necessarily care too much about the kits. A kit’s a kit … but top to bottom, we agreed we can at least have something that represents better.”
He added, “There was definitely a sense [Nike was] very, very uncomfortable with the [2022] situation, especially when you have 20-25 guys on a team saying they all hate the jerseys they’re about to play in. But there was a quick turnaround. They honestly welcomed the criticism and they brought us right into the loop to start the design process for the next ones.”

The collaboration began in 2024 with Nike conducting listening sessions and design workshops to learn what the uniform means to the players and what they’d like to include on it.
The second phase involved the company welcoming feedback from the players on various designs, patterns, styles and colors. At the November 2025 camp, the final vision was presented to the players.
“Weston, at one point, was coming up with some crazy designs that no one agreed with, just things that [defeated] the whole purpose of why we’re having these conversations,” Adams said with a grin. “Guys, let’s just come up with a design that makes sense. At one point they’re showing us colors, and someone’s like, ‘Oh, I love that green.’ And I was like, ‘Get out of the room! Like, what are we doing here?’ But it’s good. It all came to the right spot.”
From a design perspective, the players said they picked everything from how red the red was in the stripes to the shorts and socks combinations. There were tweaks along the way.

“I feel like we had more say than Nike had in it, to be honest with you,” Adams said.

According to the USSF, the players also provided input on fabric weight, seam placement, fit and mobility — a key factor during a competition to be played at times in hot conditions.
World Cup veteran Matt Turner made suggestions for the goalkeeping kit, which is part of Nike’s colorful “Hollywood Keepers” line worn by several national teams.
“You need to have kits that you just love putting on,” Adams said. “You just get that feeling like, look good, play good. And it sounds corny, but I believe in that.”
When a famous World Cup goal is scored or victory achieved, the jersey becomes part of that history — seen around the globe for generations.

“At the same time, if a kit is ugly, it’s ugly,” Balogun said. “It’s going to get negative reaction” forever.
The Stripes jersey is reminiscent of a popular one the U.S. wore last decade, unofficially known as the “Where’s Waldo” kit: red and white horizontal stripes, like the shirt worn by the main character in the popular children’s books. “We wanted some iteration of that,” Adams said.
The broader aim is to establish a uniform that becomes globally recognized, such as the Netherlands (bright orange), Brazil (canary yellow with blue), Portugal (red and green) and Croatia (checkerboard).
“You want that one jersey that kind of stays consistent,” Adams said. “When you talk to a Dutch national team player, that orange jersey is the top of playing in the Dutch national team system. For us, we have like crazy shapes or something on our jerseys. What does that have to do with the U.S.? We just want to be stars and stripes.”

Both Adams and Balogun said they prefer the 2026 Stars over Stripes.
“I think that’s going to become an all-time classic jersey,” Adams said. “Something about stars for me, which you don’t really see often [and] makes it pop.”
Balogun added, “I just like the stealthiness to it. It’s got so much hidden detail. It’s such a beautiful kit. It’s a lot more of a statement.”
For fans, they won’t come cheap: $180 MSRP for authentic match jerseys, $100 for replicas.

Raphinha’s hattrick helps Barca beat Sevilla and stay 4 points clear on top | Football News
Raphinha scored a hat trick, including two goals from the penalty spot, as Barcelona reclaimed its four-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish league.
Barcelona routed Sevilla 5-2 for its fourth straight league win and boosted its confidence ahead of the second leg of its Champions League last 16 match against Newcastle on Wednesday. Barcelona needed Lamine Yamal’s penalty with the last kick of the game to rescue a 1-1 draw at Newcastle in the first leg.
Madrid beat Elche 4-1 on Saturday to temporarily cut Barcelona’s lead to one point.
After Portugal defender Joao Cancelo was fouled in the box, Raphinha put the Catalan side ahead in the ninth minute with a little dink of a shot known as a “Panenka,” which fooled goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Cancelo, who returned to Barcelona this winter on loan from Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal, earned another penalty in the 18th and Raphinha again converted. Vlachodimos read the shot well and managed to touch the ball but could not stop it.
Dani Olmo made it 3-0 in the 38th minute from Marc Bernal’s cross.
Oso pulled one back for Sevilla before halftime and Raphinha completed his hat trick after the interval with a shot that took a deflection and went over the ‘keeper. Cancelo then added more luster to the win, with Djibril Sow reducing the gap in added time.
Gavi returnsBarcelona midfielder Gavi returned to action after more than 200 days on the sidelines because of a right knee meniscus operation.
Gavi came on in the 82nd minute as a replacement for Raphinha to huge cheers. He was then applauded every time he touched the ball.
Elsewhere, Mallorca came from behind to beat Espanyol 2-1, and Real Betis and Celta Vigo drew 1-1.
Striker Goncalo Guedes scored a brace as Real Sociedad defeated Osasuna 3-1.
