Former New York Yankees prospect Oswald Peraza smoked the ball for the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. He led the team to an 11-4 victory and delivered a barrage of hits.

While his former team manager, Aaron Boone, is happy to see him finding his groove, he admitted that Peraza’s hot streak “hurt” the Yankees immensely.

“He looked like what we were excited about several years ago. And then obviously, went through a couple of years of struggling. He’s super talented, always has been,” Boone said.

“He’s fast-twitched, has power, can run and can do all those things. Clearly, in as good a place as he’s been in a few years.”

Peraza and Anthony Volpe were once considered the next generation of the Yankees infielders. However, over the years, Volpe further solidified his place in the lineup, and with DJ LeMahieu and Josh Donaldson being on the roster, it made things difficult for Peraza.

After the Angels’ 7-1 victory on Tuesday, Aaron Boone said that Peraza “killed us.” He was supposed to be part of the solution in the Bronx, but he has now become a problem for them.
