Giants vs. Rams Week 2 Monday Night Football Top Betting Pick

The Los Angeles Rams were one of the biggest disappointments in Week 1, losing to the San Francisco 49ers by 20 points. The New York Giants were one of the biggest surprises, beating the Dallas Cowboys. We’re getting the perfect sell high, buy low opportunity.

The Rams were put in an extremely odd situation in Week 1, and I’m not looking too much into it. They faced off against a divisional rival in Australia, and the two teams took drastically different strategies in how they wanted to travel and prepare for that game. The 49ers easily came out on top, but it isn’t a situation that we should be putting too much stock in.

Los Angeles was consistently underrated at home by Vegas last season, going 6-2 against the spread (ATS), beating the spread by an average of 3.4 points, as home favorites. They were also 4-1 ATS, winning by an average of 12.6 points per game after a loss.

The other major key is that the Rams have had drastically more time to prepare for this game. They played on Thursday last week, giving them 10 days after a loss to practice, study film, and get ready for the Giants.

John Harbaugh wasn’t good ATS when he had a disadvantage in terms of rest with the Baltimore Ravens last season. He owned a 1-3 record in those games, which ranked near the bottom of the NFL.

The obvious concern for LA is the plethora of injuries they’re already dealing with. Myles Garrett was placed on IR, Kamren Kitchens has been ruled out, and Puka Nacua is currently questionable. If Nacua can’t suit up, that’d be a huge blow to their offense.

The Rams are also expected to see Aaron Donald debut for them, though. He’s been retired, so he’s a bit of a question mark at this point, but it’s difficult to believe he’ll be anything short of a major upgrade along their defensive line.

The Giants beat the Cowboys by sustaining excessively long drives and limiting how many times Dallas’ offense saw the field in the second half. I don’t expect them to be able to sustain those drives against LA, and I’m trusting one of the best coaches in the NFL to right the ship at home in Week 2.
