Michael Kim made history with an exclamation point on Friday at the 3M Open.

Kim, 33, was going for just the 16th sub-60 round (59) in PGA Tour history heading into the 18th hole. Kim’s wedge shot from the fairway on the par-5 18th rolled to the fringe of the green, leaving him 24 feet away from making a birdie and adding his name to the history books.

Kim had one thing on his mind when stepping up to the putt: Don’t leave it short.

“I tend to leave those short when it’s that uphill and I just, last thing was just get it there, just don’t leave it short,” Kim said.

He certainly did not leave it short. Kim buried it in the bottom of the cup and then gave a few huge fist pumps in celebration.

Going into the last couple of holes, Kim knew what was at stake and wanted to give himself a shot at making the record books.

“I just kind of told myself, like, ‘Hey, this is the way, this is the moment to get into the history books, and let’s go for it. Let’s not try to luck our way into it. Let’s try to step up and hit some really good shots,’” he said.

Kim went on multiple runs throughout his round. Starting on the third hole, he made five birdies in a row. He then made par on the eighth hole, but proceeded to birdie three of the next four holes.

He ended his round with four straight birdies.

Kim was impeccable with his putter as eight of his 11 birdies were from more than 10 feet away.

“When you hit a putt, and it does exactly what you kind of envisioned before you hit it, it’s an awesome feeling. Felt like that all day out there,” he said.

Kim’s historic day moved him into a three-shot lead over Ben Kohles, but Kim knows there is a lot more golf left to play.

“Today was an awesome day, but, still, I’m only halfway there. So, still need to kind of get focused up for the weekend,” he said.

Kim’s 59 was the fourth on tour since 2024. Jake Knapp was the last to do so during the first round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic. Jim Furyk holds the PGA Tour record with a 58 at the 2016 Travelers Championship.

The International Olympic Committee announced Friday it will not investigate Gianni Infantino regarding President Donald Trump’s call to him about Folarin Balogun’s controversial red card.

The USMNT star received a red card in the round of 32 of the World Cup, which initially made him ineligible to play in the next round.

However, FIFA decided to suspend the red card, which made Balogun eligible. Trump later said he called Infantino and asked for a review, but FIFA claimed it was not influenced by Trump.

The ruling added to what was already a huge controversy. Critics argued Balogun should not have been red-carded in the first place. Nonetheless, Balogun was active despite an appeal and a strong reaction from Belgium.

A London-based NGO formally complained this month to the IOC ethics commission about Infantino. The IOC’s Olympic Charter cites neutrality among “fundamental principles of Olympism” for sports bodies like FIFA and its 100-plus members, which have included Infantino since 2020.

No formal investigation will be opened, the IOC said, because the complaint by the rights group FairSquare did not relate to FIFA’s or Infantino’s specific relations with the Olympic body.

The complaint “refers only to (FIFA’s) decisions on its governance and its management, including its relations with government, and to (FIFA’s) implementation of the rules of its sport,” the IOC said in a statement.

David Kenny (Farranfore Maine Valley A.C.) successfully retained his men’s 10,000m Race Walk title in commanding fashion, crossing the line in 38:56.24 to claim a fourth consecutive outdoor national crown.

The women’s 5,000m Race Walk produced one of the best finishes in recent years, ultimately finishing with Kate Veale (West Waterford A.C.) securing her 24th national senior title across indoor and outdoors. Veale clocked 24:18.38 to hold off Aisling Lane (Mullingar Harriers A.C.) in 24:21.03, while Leah O’Gara (Finn Valley A.C.) completed the podium in 24:22.91.

3,000 Steeplechase

Abbie Sheridan (St. Peter’s A.C.) defended her women’s 3,000m steeplechase title with an impressive winning time of 9:55.60. Róisín Treacy (Dundrum South Dublin A.C.) finished second in 10:20.53, with Dearbhla Allen (St. Peter’s A.C.) taking bronze in 10:46.02.

Finley Daly (Sligo A.C.) won his third men’s 3,000m steeplechase title in four years with an impressive victory in 8:59.70. Jack Dee (St. Peter’s A.C.) was second in 9:30.93, while Adam Kirk-Smith (Derry City Track Club) earned bronze in 9:44.48.

Field Events

Olympian Eric Favors (Raheny Shamrock A.C.) successfully defended his men’s shot put title with a best throw of 19.47m. Theo Hanlon (Suncroft A.C.) claimed silver with 15.81m, while Callum Keating (North Cork A.C.) took bronze with 14.72m.

Michaela Walsh (Swinford A.C.) won her seventh outdoor national shot put title – and first since 2023 – with a winning throw of 13.11m. Laura Frawley (Nenagh Olympic A.C.) finished second with 11.90m ahead of Alana Frattaroli (Limerick A.C.), who threw 11.53m.

Conor Cusack (Lake District A.C.) successfully retained the men’s javelin title with a best effort of 69.09m. Oisín Joyce (Lake District A.C.) finished second with 64.05m, while Michael Jordan (Naas A.C.) claimed bronze with 61.17m.

Kate Joyce (Dundrum South Dublin A.C.) claimed her first senior outdoor national javelin title with a winning throw of 50.21m. Leanne Healy (Marian A.C.) took silver with 46.03m, while Ailbhe Gordon (Greystones and District A.C.) took bronze with 45.33m.

The women’s high jump saw Daena Kealy (St. Abbans A.C.) produce a lifetime best of 1.87m to secure the national title. Siún Quinn (Brothers Pearse A.C.) cleared 1.80m for silver, while Tara O’Connor (Dundalk St. Gerards A.C.) claimed bronze with 1.75m.

David Cussen (Old Abbey A.C.) added a sixth outdoor national high jump title to his collection after clearing 2.15m in the men’s high jump.

Daphni Doulaptsi Teeuwen (Raheny Shamrock A.C.) successfully defended her women’s triple jump title with a winning leap of 13.06m. Saragh Buggy (St. Abbans A.C.) claimed silver with 12.47m, while Caoimhe McDonagh (South Sligo A.C.) won bronze for the second successive year with 11.98m.

Joseph Gillespie (Finn Valley A.C.) won the men’s triple jump title with a best leap of 14.19m. Darragh Fahy (Loughrea A.C.) finished second on 13.91m, while Daniel De Antolin-Rodriguez (Ratoath A.C.) took bronze with 13.61m.

Best Ghost Rider combo attacks in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

Light attack combo

Spamming Light attacks while standing in front of your opponent is one of the cleanest ways to deal damage with Ghost Rider. He uses the chain on the third hit, pushing enemies back and creating a distance between you and the foe.

Finish the sequence with Tokon Assemble to bring in your teammates and add a burst of extra damage.

Medium and Heavy attack combo

Hellfire is one of Ghost Rider’s most useful tools and can build up the Vengeance Gauge, along with other skills. When using Medium or Heavy attack combos, the third hit will deal hellfire damage. Use it to increase the gauge to further increase the strength of your attacks.

Inferno Engine (Super Skill)

The Inferno Engine is Ghost Rider’s Super Skill in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls and summons his car to attack the enemy. Not only does this move deal a lot of damage, but it also depletes the Vengeance Gauge, allowing you to manage it.

Eternal Damnation (Ultimate Skill)

Eternal Damnation is Ghost Rider’s Ultimate Skill and costs 100 gauge. When triggered, Robbie uses his chains to pull enemies and deal damage twice, followed by crashing into them with his car. Overall, it is a very strong finisher.

How to play Ghost Rider in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

Ghost Rider plays best from mid-to-far range. His chain attacks give him reach that most characters cannot match at close quarters, so try to keep your distance and use Revelator Chain and Hellfire to control the space between you and your opponent.

Other than that, the most important habit a Ghost Rider player should have is monitoring the Vengeance Gauge at all times. Every time you use a Skill, the gauge fills, and when the gauge enters the red zone, your Skills deal more damage. As such, you will want your gauge to be red during most of your fight.

However, if the gauge reaches maximum, Ghost Rider suffers from the Overheat status. At this point, he is stunned and cannot attack until the gauge drops. As such, use Penance Driver often to bring the gauge back down or spend it to cast your Super Skill or Ultimate Skill.
