Lindsey Vonn’s coach and New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs are confident that the American skiing great can compete at the Milano Cortina Olympics with a ruptured ACL in her left knee.

Vonn, 41, is set to try her luck in the women’s downhill race on Sunday

“I’m pretty confident that she can still pull off this dream,” Vonn’s head coach Chris Knight told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “I’ve got no doubts in my mind that this is going to be OK.”

Knight’s comments came one day after Vonn said that she’s not interested in discussing surgery at the moment.

“It’s not really on my radar screen right now. The Olympics are the only thing that I’m thinking about,” she said. “Every day my knee’s gotten better. And every day we’re discussing with a full medical team, doctors, physios, everyone, to make sure we’re doing everything to make sure I am making smart and safe decisions.”

Diggs knows a thing or two about a torn ACL. His lone season with the Houston Texans in 2024 was cut short by the same injury.

“Prayers to her. I hope the surgery does go well when she does have it,” Diggs said Wednesday of Vonn. “Anybody who has torn an ACL, it’s kind of a weird injury. You can run after about two weeks when the swelling goes down. … As long as she doesn’t have to (decelerate), she should be fine.”

Like Vonn, Diggs has a big day ahead on Sunday. Diggs and the Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif.

As for Vonn, she must complete at least one official training run to take part in the Sunday downhill. Vonn is no stranger to the mountain. She collected 12 of her 84 World Cup victories there, the most of any skier.

Vonn earned gold (downhill) and bronze (Super-G) medals at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and a bronze medal in the downhill at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games.

Vonn retired after the 2019 world championships due to injuries. She subsequently received a partial replacement of her right knee and launched a comeback late in 2024 with the Olympics in her sights.

She has won the downhill twice this winter and leads the World Cup standings in the discipline and was considered a favorite to win the gold medal in the event in Italy.

USC Peaking at Right Time with Alijah Arenas in Top Form

Published

on

  By Stephen Vilardo, SuperWest Sports

Following their win over Indiana on Tuesday night, USC has won consecutive games and three of their last four, with the lone loss during that stretch a tough one-point game at Iowa.

usc logoHolding serve at home against an Indiana team ranked 30th in the NET was huge for the Trojans, a team sitting firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble as February gets rolling.

And the importance of the win over another bubble team was not lost on Eric Musselman, who pointed out in the postgame that given the NCAA Tournament implications and Big Ten Standings, “This game is not worth one game.”

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the victory was the play of Alijah Arenas. The five-star recruit with an NBA pedigree had his best game to date in the win over the Hoosiers. Arenas established new career highs with 29 points and six rebounds.

It was the first time in his five games played that he had cracked double figures in scoring. Perhaps more importantly, he played 37 minutes on Tuesday night.

Arenas made his Trojan debut on January 21 following a tumultuous 11 months in which he nearly died in a horrendous car accident, then had to rehab from a torn meniscus.

In his first four games with the Trojans, he averaged just 23.3 minutes per game. Getting a full run is a promising sign.

And for a USC team on the bubble, getting production from the talented guard as he finds his stride is huge.

Arenas is a bona fide scorer and playmaker who can create his own shot. Moving forward, opponents will have to pay even more attention to Arenas’s offensive prowess—and that should open things even more on the offensive end for the likes of Chad Baker-Mazara and Ezra Ausar.

Baker-Mazara is another guy who can create space for himself on offense. Ausar is athletic in the front court and has reached double figures in 20 of 23 games, including 12 in a row. Adding another scorer also allows Kam Woods to be a true point guard and really play to his strengths.

With Arenas hitting his stride, the Trojans have a chance to make a lot of noise down the stretch.

The lone East Coast trip remaining is the Penn State/Ohio State combo.

The Nittany Lions have been a disaster this season with just one Big Ten win and nine of their 10 wins on the season being Quad 4 wins. The Buckeyes offer SC a chance to steal a road game against another bubble team, albeit in a tough place to pick up a road win.

The rest of the slate sees just one road game, a trip to a sneaky good Washington team and the cross-town trip to UCLA.

USC could certainly solidify themselves as tournament locks before the calendar turns to March with visits from a pair of top 10 opponents in Illinois and Nebraska later this month. Even getting one of those would certainly erase doubt as long as the Trojans take care of their business.

With the firepower USC possesses, especially with a healthy and productive Alijah Arenas, this is a squad that could put together a run in March.

Simply making the big dance may not seem very ambitious once we reach mid-March.

Michael Irvin predicts Cowboys will play in next year’s Super Bowl

Ever since their Super Bowl victories in the 1990s, the Dallas Cowboys have been the practical definition of mediocre.

The team has yet to make it to an NFC championship game since it won the 1996 Super Bowl three decades ago, but the top receiver from that team, Michael Irvin, sees the vision.

Irvin told Fox News Digital on radio row in San Francisco he recently had dinner with soon-to-be second-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, and he “love[s] the direction Coach is going in.”

“I love what he’s done with the offense, ’cause we found the offense. Now, we just got to solidify and make sure it gets more consistent. And being able to put up 30, 35 points a game,” Irvin said of the star-studded group that includes Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Javonte Williams.

The defense was the clear weakness throughout this season, but Irvin doesn’t want anyone sleeping on them.

“Now, with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark up the middle, dude, we got a force coming up the middle of the field. We gotta solidify that defense,” Irvin said.

Then came a bold prediction.

“The Cowboys can be in this game next year. We could be sitting here talking about the Cowboys in this game next year, and I want you to find me and make sure you say to me, ‘You said this. You said, Michael, you said, they could be here.’

“They will be here. I want you to find me.”

Cowboys fans daring enough to ride along with Irvin can do it on Hard Rock Bet, which has had a long-standing relationship with the Hall of Famer.

”It’s home, it’s Florida. I’m from Florida. You look back. I’ve had such a great friendship and alignment with them for so long. I did my Hall of Fame party at the Hard Rock, and, of course, Miami plays at the Hard Rock, so I’m always there with them. There’s a natural partnership,” Irvin said.

Published

Catch and Tame is a tycoon simulator on Roblox in which you throw a lasso to catch animals from different areas of the map. These animals can then be placed at your pen to start generating some income over time. By collecting and using this money, you can purchase better lassos, EXP-gaining food items, and several buildings that’ll help you progress faster.

Developed by Manta Games, Catch and Tame allows you to explore a map, throw the Lasso to catch wild animals, Tame them by completing a minigame, and place them on your base to generate income. Here’s everything that’s important to know before you obtain your first animal:

Pen

As you spawn into the game for the first time, you’ll be allotted a pet pen where you can place all your tamed animals. Upon placing, each animal will start generating money with time that you can collect to access several other features.

At the start, you’ll be able to place only eight animals at your base, while this capacity can be increased by upgrading your fence (using the in-game currency) and expanding the base.

Catching and Taming

To catch your first pet, you have to explore the map and search for an animal that falls within your Lasso’s catching power. Next, you have to tap on the Lasso icon, available at the bottom of your screen, and throw it towards the creature to catch it. Once caught, a taming minigame will start in which you have to tap until the meter at the bottom fills up.

Once you’ve tamed the pet, you can move ahead to place it on your pen and start earning money.
