England Lioness Missy Bo Kearns reveals she lost her baby in heartbreaking statement
England Lioness and Aston Villa midfielder Missy Bo Kearns has revealed that she and her partner, Luton midfielder Liam Walsh, have lost their child during pregnancy.
The couple announced they were expecting in a video posted to social media earlier this month.
It showed the pair painting “mum + dad” onto a wall along with the September due date, and proudly holding ultrasound scans.
Kearns, 24, took to Instagram Sunday night to share the sad news in a post to her Stories.
She wrote: “With very heavy hearts, we want to share that we’ve lost our baby during pregnancy.
“The past weeks have been filled with a kind of sadness that’s hard to explain, and we’re still trying to come to terms with it all.
“Right now, we’re focusing on recovering and supporting each other through this. We truly appreciate the love and support around us more than we can say.”
Walsh, 28, shared the same post to his Stories.
Aston Villa Women offered their condolences on X, in a post reading: “We are sending all our love and support to Missy Bo and Liam at this difficult time.”

It took a rookie setter to stitch together the talent in the La Salle roster and key the Lady Spikers’ return to glory in UAAP women’s volleyball.
“She was really the missing link for the team,” coach Ramil de Jesus said in praise of Eshana Nunag, who literally orchestrated a ‘Sweep 16’ season capped off by a 25-22, 25-16, 25-16 Game 2 ripping of National University on Saturday night before more than 22,500 screaming souls at the Mall of Asia Arena for the Lady Spikers’ 13th UAAP crown.
“She (has) finally arrived,” De Jesus added of Nunag, a brilliant 5-foot-8 facilitator who successfully pulled off what Julia Coronel and Mikole Reyes couldn’t do ever since Mars Alba graduated as the Lady Spikers’ setter after Season 85. “There were just a few things I needed to correct to polish her game.”
And with Nunag being just 18 and if the core of the La Salle arsenal—Angel Canino and Shevana Laput–decides to play another year, then next year’s title defense will stand on solid footing.
“I was tough on her (during the off-season),” De Jesus continued, admitting that he saw a gem in Nunag. “The good thing is, little by little, she kept learning and improved her (game) that even against veterans, she never got overwhelmed.
“I’m really happy because as a rookie, she was able to help lead the team to a championship,” De Jesus said after becoming the winningest UAAP coach across all sports, overtaking the late great Baby Dalupan, who won 12 titles with the University of the East program.
Nunag, who left the National U Nazareth School to go to La Salle in senior high, was just eager to learn from De Jesus and be of help in the Lady Spikers’ redemption tour.
Help from seniors
“I also stayed very focused on coach (De Jesus) because he corrected a lot of things in my game,” said Nunag in Filipino after dishing out 217 excellent sets in the title clincher. “I think a big factor was my willingness to accept all those corrections and the things I still needed to improve so I could help the team better.
“It also helped that I came here in senior high school (because) I was already being (integrated into) the system, so by the time I reached college and my first year, I was already familiar with how things worked,” she added.
Nunag attributed her solid rookie year to Canino, Laput and Amie Provido, who made the job easier for her and helped her thrive under pressure by staying on the same page.
“I also wouldn’t have made it this far without the help of my older teammates. All of us worked hard for this, not just me,” she said. “I saw how much everyone improved compared to past seasons. I’m really thankful for their support and guidance.”
The learning curve is over for Nunag. And that makes her more dangerous moving forward.

The sixth signature event of the 2026 PGA Tour season brought players back to Charlotte for the annual stop at Quail Hollow for the Truist Championship. The field of 72 players battled it out for their share of the $20 million purse with Kristoffer Reitan taking home $3.6 million for his first career PGA Tour victory.
While Scottie Scheffler was not in the field after three consecutive runner-up finishes, most of the rest of the PGA Tour’s best made the trip to North Carolina for the final tune-up before the PGA Championship. The last two signature event winners — Cameron Young at the Cadillac Championship and Matt Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage — were looking to double up on such winner’s checks. Rory McIlroy was seeking to prevail at his favorite Tour stop after taking three weeks off following his second Masters victory.
In the end, though, it was Reitan — not qualified for signature events at the start of the season — who prevailed by draining a pair of clutch birdies on the back nine Sunday to win by two strokes over Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Hojgaard.

FC Barcelona have successfully defended their Spanish league title under coach Hansi Flick after a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in the El Clásico on Sunday.
Early goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres helped Barcelona secure the important win, which moved them 14 points ahead at the top of the table with only three matches left this season.
The match was emotional for Flick, who was on the touchline despite the recent death of his father. Both teams wore black armbands and observed a minute of silence before kickoff.
Barcelona players and staff celebrated wildly after the final whistle at a packed Camp Nou as supporters marked another successful league campaign. Flick later described the squad as a “family” and thanked the fans for their support throughout the season.
It is the 29th league title in Barcelona’s history, with only Real Madrid winning more championships in Spain. Since replacing Xavi Hernández in 2024, Flick has now guided the club to league glory in both of his seasons in charge.
Barcelona have also won several domestic trophies during Flick’s time at the club, including the Spanish Super Cup twice and last season’s Copa del Rey.
The Catalan side also continued their impressive attacking record, scoring in 55 consecutive matches, one of the best runs in the club’s history.
Although Barcelona have dominated Spanish football, they have struggled in Europe. They were knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by Inter Milan last season and later lost to Atlético Madrid in this year’s quarter-finals.
Barcelona’s title race was not straightforward. They were once five points behind Real Madrid earlier in the season after losing the first Clásico at the Bernabéu. However, Madrid’s poor run of results later allowed Barça to take control of the league race.
Real Madrid failed to recover after dropping points in several matches, while Barcelona went on a strong winning run to build a comfortable lead at the top of the table.
The defeat also means Real Madrid will finish the season without winning any major trophy for the second straight year.
Leading conditioner Peter Snowden highlighted King Of Roseau’s tenacity and competitive spirit after the heart-stopping finish of the Listed $250,000 Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford on Saturday.

A natural sprinter, King Of Roseau first tasted stakes success at four with the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap victory at Flemington.
His development persisted through summer with triumphs in the $2 million Magic Millions Cup and Group 3 Liverpool City Cup, leading into this first-up score.
Snowden indicated King Of Roseau’s excellent shape calls for Group 1 assignments, starting with the $1 million Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm on May 30, then the $3 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) on June 13.
“I deliberately missed the Sydney autumn with King Of Roseau as he had a fair bit of travelling earlier in the season then went deep into summer winning at the Gold Coast and then back at Randwick,” Snowden said.
“So, I freshened him and decided to concentrate on the Brisbane carnival.
“He will go to the Kingsford Smith Cup next and 1300m is probably his best distance, then onto the Stradbroke Handicap.”

Instead of reaching top-five player status in his mid-20s, the San Antonio Spurs’ big man is taking over at just 22 and he’s rattled most of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Spurs lead the Western Conference second-round series 2-1 entering Sunday’s Game 4 in Minneapolis. Wemby has blocked 19 shots in the series – including a postseason-record 12 in Game 1 – and altered countless others.
The New York Knicks are looking to close out their Eastern Conference second-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia rallied from a 3-1 deficit to slay the Boston Celtics in the first round but no NBA teams have ever recovered from a 3-0 deficit as the 76ers face.
SAN ANTONIO SPURS AT MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
Wembanyama put on a show for the ages in San Antonio’s 115-108 win in Game 3 by recording 39 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots. That made him just the fourth different player in NBA history to produce at least 35 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a playoff game since the NBA began tracking blocks at the start of the 1973-74 season.
The others in that club are Hall of Famers Shaquille O’Neal (three times), Hakeem Olajuwon (three times) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (twice). Wemby was impressed — “It’s good to be along with the big fellas,” he said – and he’s listed at (27-plus points, -113), (13-plus rebounds, -112) and (five-plus blocks, +127) for Game 4.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who was limited in the first two games with a hyperextended left knee, was lethal on Friday with 32 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Minnesota is going to need some big efforts from Edwards (26-plus points, -106) to win this series, starting with Game 4.
It will be interesting to see how much the Timberwolves rely on Julius Randle (18-plus points, -111) and Jaden McDaniels (17-plus points, -108) after their anemic shooting outings in Game 3. Not sure if ‘Wembyitis’ is an official term but McDaniels (17 points) was just 5-of-22 shooting and Randle (12) made only 3 of 12 shots.

New York has won six consecutive playoff games after posting a 108-94 victory in Friday’s Game 3 at Philadelphia. Completing the sweep would give the Knicks plenty of rest before the conference finals but the 76ers figure to put up a good fight.
Look, everybody knew New York would win the series after it steamrolled Philadelphia by 39 points in Game 1. But the heart the 76ers showed in the Boston series was impressive so avoiding the sweep and not having the series end at home does provide motivation.
However, Jalen Brunson (28-plus points, -106) has done whatever he’s wanted in this series with outputs of 35, 26 and 33 points. OG Anunoby (hamstring) missed Game 3 and is questionable for Sunday and that’s tough news for Philadelphia if he plays as he’s shooting 61.9% from the field and averaging 21.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in eight postseason games. Sixers star Joel Embiid (26-plus points, -122) has fared well after an appendectomy gave him a late start this postseason and Tyrese Maxey (25-plus points, -117) figures to go all out. Look for Philadelphia to survive to play one more time this season.

The new punter, Hekker, was once the best in football 8-10 years ago; now, he’ll hope to stay off a rookie from the third section of this article.
Pierre is Minnesota’s new CB3, a replacement for Jeff Okudah, who hasn’t signed anywhere in 2026. Van Demark is offensive tackle insurance in case something happens to Christian Darrisaw or Brian O’Neill. Banks will define this class — no matter what. If he hits, to the tune of his All-Pro ceiling, the group can almost do no wrong. Golday arrives as an Andrew Van Ginkel-like defensive weapon, the first inside linebacker drafted by the Vikings in the first two rounds since Eric Kendricks in 2015.
Oragne is a nose tackle, and the Vikings haven’t had a pure version of one of those in eons. Tiernan is an offensive tackle, youth in the pipeline next to Darrisaw and O’Neill. Harrison Smith hasn’t resigned yet, and if he does not, Thomas will get a look as his replacement.
Bredeson is the new C.J. Ham; fans will love him. Demmings is a scrappy cornerback who could break out because Minnesota hasn’t drafted a corner with staying power since Xavier Rhodes — 13 years ago.
The new running back, Claiborne, will be something in the neighborhood of Nyheim Hines, Jerick McKinnon, or De’Von Achane, based on his size and play style. Gerhardt is a longshot bid for the Vikings’ center of the future.

This list is obviously huge, and most of these men won’t latch on to the Vikings’ roster or anywhere in the NFL when it’s all said and done. Still, it’s important to note that wide receiver Dillon Bell could score a roster spot or practice squad invitation in late August.
Cam’Ron Stewart has some fans, and he’s 24, so he should be more game-ready than most. Jacob Thomas may be a dark horse of the practice squad. And most expect Brett Thorson to have an honest-to-goodness punter battle with Johnny Hekker this summer.

The Vikings have a rich recent history of empowering undrafted free agents. You can’t rule out players from the list without some summer diligence.
With OG Anunoby sidelined with a hamstring injury, Miles McBride got a second straight start for the New York Knicks on Sunday in a closeout game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
McBride made the most of the opportunity while leading the Knicks to a record effort from 3 in the first half.

McBride hit all four of his first-quarter 3-point attempts as the Knicks sprinted out of the gates with an 11-of-13 effort as a team from long distance. By halftime, McBride was shooting 6 of 7 from 3. And the Knicks were 18 of 29 as a team.
New York’s 11 first-quarter 3s and 18 halftime 3s each tied NBA records for a playoff game. And the Knicks had an 81-57 lead while standing 24 minutes away from a spot in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Knicks entered Sunday with a 3-0 series lead and chance sweep the 76ers on their home court. They started the game zoned in on putting the series to bed.

England vs New Zealand: Tilly Corteen-Coleman and Charlie Dean give reasons for optimism despite familiar failings
Those words showed maturity but also the teenager’s high standards.
Corteen-Coleman perched herself next to England’s coaches on the balcony for much of her side’s chase. She believed her work for the day was done, but her most consequential moment was still to come.
Ten runs were still needed when she emerged as the last batter to join Dean.
Crucially, she helped Dean run twos and, with solid defence, bettered her previous high score of one not out in The Hundred to finish unbeaten on three and sealed the win.
“I am glad I looked calm because I definitely wasn’t,” she said.
“The main point for me was to keep it really simple.”
Corteen-Coleman did not, of course, complete the win alone.
Central was the role of Dean, who admitted to exposing her team-mate more than she intended by taking singles early in the over, but otherwise played the situation well.
Much has been made of Dean’s ability to hold her mettle in chases. There has been some success but failure too – notably in the Mankad ODI at Lord’s in 2022 and the second ODI of the Women’s Ashes last year.
This time, standing in as England captain for the first time, Dean dragged her side over the line.
If England’s training camp with the army last week was supposed to develop leaders, this was Dean’s Passing-Out Parade.
“I have worked on having that calmness and being ready in any situation but that mainly came from Deano,” added Corteen-Coleman.
“If I came out and she was panicking I would have been under the pump.”
Corteen-Coleman emerged with the words of coach Charlotte Edwards in her ears. She told her to back her strengths and keep a clear mind.
That was backed up by Dean in the middle.
“She came out with good clarity,” said Dean.
“I said, ‘Yorkers have been successful for them so they will probably look to get under your bat’.
“We decided getting forward was the best option.
“Tilly is really proactive with her thinking. She has a good cricket brain.”
