Maple Leafs sign defenceman Nick Blankenburg to professional tryout
The Maple Leafs signed the 28-year-old defenceman to a professional tryout on Monday, the team announced.
Blakenberg recorded eight goals and 16 assists over 61 games with the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche last season.
He started the season with the Predators before the Avalanche acquired him at the trade deadline in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick.
He signed with Nashville on a two-way, two-year contract in the 2024 off-season after beginning his career with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Over five NHL seasons, Blakenberg has 18 goals and 40 assists in 176 games.
