The four-time MVP will hit fifth against the Atlanta Braves and Chris Sale as he looks to break out of a slump. Ohtani has two singles and two strikeouts in eight at-bats through the first two games of the series, and also struggled in September while spending time on the injured list with left knee and right biceps issues that are also preventing him from pitching.

According to The Athletic, Ohtani hasn’t hit this low in any lineup since the 2020 season when he was a member of the Los Angeles Angels. Mookie Betts will take Ohtani’s place in the lead-off position, followed by Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernandez and Will Smith.

The Dodgers are also making other changes, with Miguel Rojas starting at third base over Max Muncy and Kiké Hernández taking over from Tommy Edman at second.

The Dodgers and Braves are tied 1-1 as the series shifts to Atlanta Tuesday night. Watch Game 3 on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT.
