Kano Pillars captain Rabiu Ali has made history after scoring against Kwara United to become the first player to score in 19 different NPFL seasons.
The 45-year-old midfielder scored a stunning goal as Kano Pillars began their EUROMATCH NPFL27 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Kwara United in Ilorin.
Ali, who turns 46 in September, has now scored in 19 consecutive NPFL seasons, stretching back to the 2007/08 campaign.
He has spent his entire NPFL career with Kano Pillars and remains the league’s longest-serving active player.
The veteran, widely regarded as one of the great figures in Nigerian football, has also scored more than 100 NPFL goals during his remarkable career.
Kano Pillars took a 2-0 lead through Shola Abdulraheem and Ali before Kwara United fought back, with Alex Jerry scoring twice to earn the hosts a point.
Despite the result, the night belonged to Ali, whose latest goal added another remarkable chapter to his long and historic NPFL career.
