Raphael Onyedika is expected to join the Nigeria squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after receiving the positive news about the shoulder injury he suffered in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-2 draw with Freiburg.
The midfielder picked up the injury late in Saturday’s Bundesliga match after a challenge from Freiburg substitute Lucas Höler. Onyedika was able to continue playing and finish the game.
The injury is reportedly not serious, which means that the 25-year-old should still be available for Nigeria during the international break.
Onyedika was included in Nigeria’s squad for the opening AFCON 2027 qualifiers. The Super Eagles will face Madagascar in Uyo on September 25 before travelling to Guinea-Bissau for their second qualifier on September 29.
