The Canadian quarterback signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday, 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk reported. It’s a two-year deal through the 2027 season, Dunk added.

He is expected to take over the backup role in Hamilton behind veteran QB Bo Levi Mitchell.

Ford, 27, was released by the Edmonton Elks on Friday.

The Niagara Falls, Ont., native started the 2025 season as the Elks’ starting quarterback but lost the job to Cody Fajardo after a 1-4 start to the season.

Ford was originally selected by Edmonton in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2022 CFL Draft.

In 60 career games with the Elks, Ford passed for 4,651 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions.

Before his pro career, Ford was a standout at the University of Waterloo. He won the Hec Crighton Trophy in 2021 as the best player in Canadian university football.
