GTA Online now restricts Australian players from gambling in the Diamond Casino. This was discovered by several players and was confirmed by a reputable dataminer named @TexFunz2 on X. As of now, there is no confirmation as to why this change was made, but it could be due to new government rules on online games.

Here are more details about the GTA Online casino features ban for the Land Down Under.

On July 28, 2026, renowned and reputed dataminer @TexFunz2 on X revealed that Rockstar Games has restricted GTA Online Diamond Casino gambling features for Australian players.

They posted a picture that shows the code where players in the “AU” region will not have access to casino house, 3-card poker, inside track, lucky wheel, blackjack, roulette, and slots. This restriction also applies to private penthouse gambling features.

The only working features are the Casino-related missions and the ability to purchase, sell, and claim chips from the counter. Since the lucky wheel is not working, Australian players will no longer be able to claim their free wheelspin and have a chance to win the free podium vehicle.

This restriction was discovered recently on July 28, 2026, but quickly spread across several social media platforms. The dataminer also credits a GTAForums page, where a member named Joob posted about the change after seeing a Reddit post.

On the GTAForums page, the member shows a screenshot where the player approaches the lucky wheel, but a notification pops up saying “This feature is not available for you.”

Since @TexFunz2 himself posted about this on X along with a screenshot of the code. It is pretty much confirmed that this change has been applied to the game now.

Age restrictions and verification for online gaming in Australia

This is not the first time Australia has restricted online games. Back in March 2026, eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant announced the new law that any multiplayer game that is rated 18+, it will have to include an age verification system to ensure players are above that age group. Otherwise, that game will not be allowed to be sold or operated in the country.

As a result, Rockstar Games implemented an age verification system in GTA Online before the deadline.

As of now, there has been no official statement from the Australian government or Rockstar Games about restricting gambling features.
