Sheldon Keefe to remain head coach of Devils
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported the news on Tuesday as the Devils announced other changes to their coaching staff.
The Devils have fired goaltending coach Dave Rogalski and reassigned assistant coach Sergei Brylin. The team has begun searching for replacements.
Keefe’s future was unclear after general manager Sunny Mehta was hired from the Florida Panthers last month. The Devils won 42 games in each of Keefe’s two seasons in charge, but had four more regulation losses last season to miss the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
Before joining the Devils, Keefe was head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs for parts of five seasons.
