Racquet sports brand, Slazenger, has opened a new padel club in Blackburn and announces plans for 10 more this year.
Owned by Everlast Gyms’ parent, Frasers Group, Slazenger says it wants to make padel more accessible and cement Slazenger Padel as the leading name in one of the UK’s fastest growing sports.
This weekend, Slazenger Padel opened its newest site in Blackburn, a 30,000 square foot club featuring nine panoramic padel courts, expert coaching for all levels, a members’ bar, social spaces, shop, equipment hire and, for the first time within the Slazenger Padel portfolio, two pickleball courts.
Demand for padel is growing and Slazenger is planning to stay at the forefront of the trend. A spokesperson said: “Padel has experienced an incredible trajectory over the past few years. It’s a highly social sport and a relevant younger brother of tennis, appealing to a wide array of demographics making it a natural fit for our audiences. Slazenger has long been synonymous with elite racquet sports, and building on its heritage in tennis, padel represents a powerful next chapter for the brand.”
