Team Nigeria wins gold in 4x400m mixed relay at African Athletics Championship

Team Nigeria continued its strong outing at the African Athletics Championship after winning gold in the 4x400m mixed relay event with a season-best time of 3:16.44.

The Nigerian team made up of Ezekiel Asuquo, Toheebat Jimoh, Victor Sampson and Patience Okon-George delivered an impressive performance to finish ahead of the other countries in Thursday’s final.

Botswana settled for the silver medal, while Kenya claimed bronze after a closely contested race.

The victory added another gold medal to Nigeria’s growing success at the championship and once again showed the country’s strength in relay events across Africa.

Nigeria’s mixed relay team has become one of the best on the continent in recent years, regularly producing strong performances through teamwork, smart tactics and individual quality.
