At Vikings Territory, every effort is made to ensure our readers stay informed on what’s taking place within the world of Vikings news.

Earlier in the week, the folks at VT have considered a diverse array of topics. Consider, for instance, the news of J.J. McCarthy going down to QB3, losing a draft pick to the Texans, some power ranking consideration, and Minnesota beefing up the pass rushing department. Check out some of the Vikings news that didn’t get an article devoted to it.

In fairness, the skipper tends to be an unusually optimistic guy. Still, he’s onto something here.

The initial word from the team is that the bumps and bruises are few and far between. Only rookie safety Jakobe Thomas was held out of Wednesday’s practice. On Thursday, Thomas got bumped up to limited. Otherwise, rookie offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan and rookie safety Jacob Thomas put in limited work each day.

Best guess over here is that Jakobe Thomas and Tiernan don’t dress in Week 1. Neither have had flawless offseasons. The other Thomas — Jacob — gets out there. Again, just a guess.

My personal opinion: NBC does the best game broadcast. The reason is due to a belief that Mike Tirico happens to be the best play-by-play commentator. He’s excellent.

That being said, the relevant news: CBS is setting up shop outside of U.S. Bank Stadium in the leadup to the Week 1 Packers v. Vikings game. Consider a visual:

If you’re looking for visual cues, note that the setup will be handy to the Vikings ship outside of the Bank (the one with the dragon head sticking out from the front). Getting off the light rail will mean being pretty handy to where this is.

Finally, another opinion: Nate Burleson — the former NFL receiver who played some strong football for the Vikings — does an excellent job as a commentator. Another reason to like Burleson? He was born in Canada.
