On a weekly basis, the brain trust at Vikings Territory makes an earnest effort to keep the Vikings news rolling.

So far, the offering on VT has considered a large nose tackle being stolen away, the odd Dallas Turner analysis, and some rookie Vikings not dressing. QB1 Kyler Murray is cleared to come back, Josh Frey has predicted who wins the upcoming NFL games, and Adam New considers the challenge that is Tampa Bay. CB2 Isaiah Rodgers Snags NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Honestly, the Vikings could have had at least a couple options for the award. Will Reichard went 3/3 on a day when drilling field goals wasn’t easy. Maybe even Brett Thorson should have snagged some love due to putting Minnesota in promising field position consistently.

In the end, though, the award went to Isaiah Rodgers. He deserves it. Consider the main highlight:

Rodgers had a fantastic ball game. The NFL community has taken notice, giving him Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Ben Johnson Outwitted and Outcoached by Brian Flores

Getting the best of Ben Johnson isn’t easy. Brian Flores got the best of Ben Johnson.

Part of that mastery from Minnesota’s DC involved getting Dallas Turner onto a tight end in that game-sealing sack. How could such a thing occur? Why wasn’t an offensive tackle tasked with wrestling the Vikings’ dangerous pass rusher?

Coach Johnson wasn’t keen to provide an answer, instead pointing toward an execution issue. Nobody expects Johnson to share state secrets; coaches are well within their rights to be vague. Still, though, there’s some hint here that the problem had less to do with the Bears’ scheme and more to do with how the players executed the scheme. Is that a sufficient answer?

Not Great in Green Bay

For a little while, I’ve been arguing that Green Bay has had a terrible offseason and would struggle in 2026. That prediction hasn’t been proven true — there’s far too much of 2026 still to come — but things are going poorly in Wisconsin.

On Thursday Night Football, a brutal Falcons team walloped the Packers by a score of 35-14. Matt LaFleur is therefore working with a 1-2 squad that’s going to get the Buccaneers in Week 4. Whether Tampa is 1-2 or 0-3 will largely depend on the Vikings.
