AppleCare One Family vs. Individual: which plan makes more sense?

The new AppleCare One Family subscription is now available, bundling extended warranty protection for your entire iCloud family’s devices. Here’s how it compares to the AppleCare One Individual plan, and where you can save some money.

AppleCare One on iPhone

Launching in the United States on September 14, the plan removes the device limit and single-account restriction built into AppleCare One Individual. Families with enough Apple hardware could save money, although $599.88 per year is still a substantial starting price for device protection.
The existing AppleCare One Individual plan costs $19.99 per month for three products. Each additional device tied to the same Apple Account costs another $5.99 per month.
The single-account restriction generally forced family members onto separate AppleCare One or AppleCare+ plans. Family Sharing didn’t change that requirement.
