Retrocade Transforms Apple Vision Pro into a Living 80s Arcade

Resolution Games has created something truly nostalgic with Retrocade. Available through Apple Arcade on February 5, 2026, the app brings a collection of classic arcade games right into your living room, or wherever you happen to be wearing your Apple Vision Pro, with the games sitting on virtual arcade cabinets that you can actually walk about.
Seven licensed games kick things off at launch, with games like Asteroids dropping you into a combat in vector space, battling asteroids and UFOs as they drift in. Bubble Bobble has you controlling two dinosaurs as they blow bubbles to catch foes, complete stages, and rescue captives. Breakout requires precise timing to crush blocks on the screen. Centipede requires you to be on your toes while fending off an unlimited supply of descending insects and other monsters. Galaga rewards skillful play with ship rescues and dual-fire power-ups against relentless alien waves. Meanwhile, Pac-Man has you navigating mazes, collecting all those power-pellets, and dodging ghosts. Last, but not least, Space Invaders has you defending with a lone cannon against progressively fast rows of Invaders, and it doesn’t get any easier.
On Vision Pro, the games display on true cabinet screens within a reconstructed arcade, complete with plenty of authentic detail, and you can walk up to each one to get a closer look or step back to see the entire row. The entire purpose is that the cabinets appear to occupy real space, making coming in close to study the artwork or standing back to take it all in feel extremely natural. There is no bothering around trying to get things set up or looking for ROMs, none of that. It’s all there, ready to go, clean, and licensed.
You get achievements for completing specific milestones in each game, and there are global leaderboards that track all of the high scores across the community, as well as daily challenges to keep you coming back. If you prefer to use the old controls, you can connect a Bluetooth controller to the era’s joystick, trackball, or buttons, which is far more realistic than simply waving your hands at the screen.
The app is also available for iPhone and iPad, with the games in the typical flat style and the same added capabilities, but the Vision Pro version is truly the best. Standing amidst all the bright machines, hearing the old coin-drop sounds and chiptune melodies return over your headphones in spatial audio, is a really immersive experience that cannot be compared to watching on a flat screen. Resolution Games, known for VR titles such as Demeo, have fine-tuned the experience to demonstrate what spatial computing is greatest at: making digital items feel as if they are in your presence.
The fact that Retrocade’s included in an Apple Arcade subscription at no additional cost is just icing on the cake; for $6.99 per month (or through one of the Apple One bundles), you receive the entire set of games for compatible devices.
