Global cryptocurrency markets have suffered sharp losses, with around 467.6 billion dollars wiped out in less than a week. Bitcoin has fallen below 73,000 dollars, its lowest level since November 2024, and is down 39 percent from its October 2025 peak above 126,000 dollars. Ethereum has also declined. The sell-off follows rising geopolitical tensions, forced liquidations exceeding 2.5 billion dollars in one day, and concerns over global economic uncertainty. Markets are also reacting to expectations of tighter monetary policy under the US Federal Reserve.
