UN risks ‘imminent financial collapse’ due to member states not paying fees
UN Secretary General António Guterres is warning that the United Nations is at risk of “imminent financial collapse”.
He claims the financial crisis is due to member states not paying their fees.
He has written a letter to all 193 member states, asking them to honour their mandatory payments.
According to the secretary general, the United Nations has faced previous financial crises, but he claims the current situation is different.
