The White House is sending prayers to Savannah Guthrie‘s family as her mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing.

“The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is ongoing, and authorities are requesting assistance from the public,” read a message shared via the official White House X account on Tuesday, February 3. “Anyone with information is urged to contact 911. Our prayers are with the Guthrie family as we hope for Nancy’s safe return home.”

The post included information from Nancy’s missing person’s report, including her age, weight, height and more. Nancy, 84, was last seen on Saturday, January 31.

News broke on Sunday, February 1, that Nancy was reported missing in Arizona. The Guthrie family confirmed in a statement that they were “working closely with local law enforcement” to help bring Nancy back home.

Savannah, 54, did not appear on the Monday, February 2, episode of the Today show, but cohosts Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin addressed the “deeply personal” story at the top of the broadcast.

Savannah provided an additional statement, which read, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos initially noted after Nancy was reported missing that foul play could not be ruled out as the search continued. During a subsequent press conference, however, Nanos said that authorities were treating Nancy’s home as a crime scene.

“We don’t want anybody to lose hope,” Nanos later told Us Weekly. “But in the same sense, just as there’s hope, there’s also things that point to us that say, ‘This lady’s in danger.’”

Nanos previously revealed that there were “some concerns” about what was found at Nancy’s home. “I’ve been doing this for 50 years. When something doesn’t sit well, it doesn’t sit well,” he explained to Us. “Something unusual at that house occurred that made us go, ‘Wow … something’s wrong here. Something doesn’t fit.’”

Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the crime, and there has been no public mention of a ransom. “I wish somebody would call us and say, ‘Hey,’ because that’s what the family wants. They just want her back. ‘Hey, no questions asked, call us where to come and get her,’ and we’ll do that,” Nanos added.

The sheriff has also said that Nancy is “sharp as a tack” when it comes to her mental state, but she has some limitations with her physical health. Nancy also requires medication on a daily basis.

During a separate press conference on Tuesday, Nanos was asked whether he believes police are looking for someone who is still alive. “We hope we are,” he replied.

Savannah, meanwhile, has remained off the air in her family’s time of need. She issued a heartfelt statement via Instagram on Monday, sharing a photo with the words “Please Pray.”

“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote in the caption. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you.”

Her message continued, “‘He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.’ A verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us. Bring her home.”

If there is one thing that we’ve learned over the years, it’s that the Property Brothers know what they’re talking about. Having completed hundreds of renovations and design projects across their HGTV series, they’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. While we may not agree with every decision they make, they’re at least offering viewers wisdom and expertise in their guidance. Now, they’ve spoken out about the harsh dangers of going all white in certain rooms, namely the kitchen; they’re now coming at you with the boldness of color.

Taking a break from their TV advice, Jonathan and Drew Scott are using their YouTube channel to alert viewers to the highs and lows of colors. The twins are coming in hot with this bold take because they know how quickly trends come and go in the world of interior design. As they do on their shows, including Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers, they’re here to help at-home designers prevent a major mistake. Bold is fine—reckless is unforgivable.

Adding Bold Color Comes With Stipulations

Jonathan and Drew are eager to encourage at-home designers to go bold. But what does it mean to go bold in the world of interior design? Essentially, as Jonathan put it, it’s time to forget about the boring. Their advice is to explore using a statement wall. It’s a trend that’s been popular for some time, but how they’re exploring it in 2026 is new. In the past, you might have seen some homes with a single wall painted a splash of color to make a statement. The twins advise trying something new, this time with paneling or wallpaper. But there’s a catch. Your wall treatment can’t be too bold. “Just know that the more bold you go, generally the faster it goes out of style. So, pick things appropriately. You don’t want to have to redo your wallpaper every single year or every few years. So, think of stuff that’s going to live and look good for a long time,” Jonathan advised. When it comes to paneling, designers should note that it can also add a bit of functionality in certain spaces, as wood can dampen sound. For rooms like playrooms and media rooms, its multi-use function benefits more than just a bold addition.

Jonathan and Drew are calling out the “Pinterest spiral” effect here. Too many patterns, everywhere, all at once. “Don’t put too busy a paper on too many walls because it can kind of create vertigo.” The benefit of wallpaper, such as grasscloth, is that, while you can opt for the traditional application, peel-and-stick is an easy way to create an accent wall. Now, Drew did recommend that being bold can include a feature ceiling. While he did say it with a straight face, it may be a step too bold for some.

In their video, Jonathan and Drew argue against excessive patterns and visual noise. If you’re an HGTV fan and live by the rules of Erin Napier, this bit of advice may come as a stark contradiction. The reality is, in the world of design, it’s all about taste. With both the brothers and the Napiers having wildly drastic aesthetics, it’s likely you’ll already prefer one over the other. If you’re not a fan of the granny chic that Erin has made famous, you’ll have a greater understanding of Jonathan and Drew’s perspective.

Jonathan and Drew Scott Don’t Want You To Make a Mistake

Many are coming to the Scotts for advice because they want to get rid of white that is drowning their spaces. It’s time to have fun with color drenching. Rather than having a wall in one color with white molding, they claim you can have it all in the same color. Just ensure you do so in a room with great natural light. Drew revealed, “I’m not the biggest fan of having tone-on-tone-on-tone for your room all the time, because a lot of people get it wrong, because then it just feels boring. Everything is the same.” The way to avoid this issue is to have something that draws your attention. Bold colors without contrast may seem bold in theory, but the execution is simply flat.

The hardest element for at-home designers is their reliance on the copy-and-paste method. It’s an unspoken mistake that, perhaps, they see something they like on screen or in a magazine and decide to replicate it in their own space. Thankfully, with new products that make self-design easier, the risk is not as drastic as it once was. When a band gets too famous for its own good, it’s only a matter of time before tensions rise and the entire operation falls apart, which is broken down beautifully in 2016’s Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. If you’re familiar with The Lonely Island, you already know what kind of humor you’re signing up for, since the film is written by and starring Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer. Functioning as a Behind the Music–style mockumentary, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping brutally lampoons the music industry by showing just how quickly the pop culture media machine chews up and spits out its artists the second their popularity starts to wane, all while delivering consistently side-splitting results.

Like most musical mockumentaries, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping follows a fairly predictable “this happened, then this happened, then this happened” story structure, but that hardly matters here. You want to see everything that happens because whenever something happens, a PR disaster is usually right behind it. This slice-of-life delivery never wears out its welcome because The Lonely Island, or “The Style Boyz” in this case, know exactly how to command the crowd, the press, and the viewing audience watching the whole thing unravel in real time.

Boy Band Breakup And Its Messy Aftermath

Centering on Connor Friel’s (Andy Samberg) solo project, Connor4Real, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping gives us a crash course on the past collaboration responsible for his meteoric rise to fame. Back in the day, Connor was an integral part of the pop trio The Style Boyz alongside his childhood friends Lawrence “Kid Brain” Dunn (Akiva Schaffer) and Owen “Kid Contact” Bouchard (Jorma Taccone), performing under the name “Kid Connor” when things were far simpler.

When Connor’s infamous “Catchphrase Verse,” co-written by Lawrence, launches him into superstardom, Lawrence leaves the group after receiving no credit for his contributions. This effectively leaves Owen behind as well, relegating him to a de facto DJ role for Connor’s new solo venture.

Owen’s creative input is brushed aside in favor of Connor writing by committee, reducing him to pressing “play” on an iPod and serving as a hype man while Connor remains the face of the entire operation. After a series of increasingly poor business decisions courtesy of their manager Harry Duggins (Tim Meadows), Connor slowly becomes a public punchline when his sophomore album, Connquest, gets torn apart by critics.

The real nail in the coffin for Connor’s career comes in the form of an endorsement deal with home appliance company Aquaspin. Much like the U2 incident where iPhone users had an album forced onto their devices against their will, Connor4Real’s release is installed into dishwashers and smart fridges everywhere, producing exactly the kind of backlash you’d expect from a marketing stunt that wildly overestimates its audience’s patience while simultaneously blacking out the power grid.

As Connor’s career steadily flushes itself down the toilet, he’s no longer able to headline his own tour, forcing Harry to bring on an opening act in the form of up-and-coming rapper Hunter the Hungry (Chris Redd), whose popularity quickly eclipses Connor’s. Despite leaning into increasingly unhinged gimmicks in a desperate attempt to stay relevant, disaster after disaster follows, culminating in a wolf attack at his televised wedding to Ashley (Imogen Poots), who he’s only been dating for six months.

Caught between his past life with his original band and a new life that’s doing him no favors, Connor is forced to confront his own ego with help from his publicist Paula (Sarah Silverman) before his career lands in the gutter with no chance of recovery.

Standard Mockumentary Fare Done Exceedingly Well

If Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping sounds like another riff on Walk Hard or This Is Spinal Tap, that’s because it absolutely is. But it earns its keep by being completely shameless in its execution. The concert footage and musical setpieces boast surprisingly high production values, which help sell just how far Connor4Real falls from grace while refusing to listen to the people closest to him.

The celebrity cameos, including but not limited to 50 Cent, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine, Questlove, Pharrell Williams, T.I., A$AP Rocky, and Michael Bolton, do a lot of heavy lifting. The B-roll interview segments in particular sell the Behind the Music angle far better than they have any right to, grounding the chaos in something that feels just real enough to be a VH1 special.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping also leans hard into its behind-the-scenes absurdity, especially once you learn that the pop tabloids are run by Will Arnett, Eric André, Mike Birbiglia, and Chelsea Perretti. Their entire job consists of laughing, offering half-hearted commentary, and drinking from multiple metal water bottles at the same time, because that’s all corporate culture requires these days.

In short, everything you see here has been done before, but the satire remains sharp because the film fully commits to its own ridiculous spectacle. It knows exactly when to linger on the absurdity and when to cut away before the joke wears thin.

A box office bomb turned cult classic, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is one of those movies you owe it to yourself to watch if you’re willing to embrace just how ridiculous it gets. You shouldn’t expect anything less from The Lonely Island. If you’re in the mood for sensation, spectacle, and a media-friendly fall from grace, you can stream it right now on Prime Video.

The problem with the good old days is that you only recognize them after they’re over. It’s the same with being a kid; you don’t know how great life is without adult responsibilities, and it’s true that you’ll always have a soft spot for the movies you watched growing up. 90s kids are especially spoiled thanks to Robin Williams putting out Hook, Jumanji, Flubber, and Aladdin within the decade, but his most iconic and widely quoted to 90s kids is Mrs. Doubtfire. The 1993 blockbuster is now available on Netflix for a new generation to discover why he was one of the most beloved stars in history. 

Robin Williams Is The Only Reason Mrs. Doubtfire Works

Robin Williams was already a star before Mrs. Doubtfire thanks to his hit sitcom, Mork & Mindy, and years of high-profile movie roles from Good Morning Vietnam to Dead Poets Society, but a divorce comedy about a man so desperate to be with his children that he’d dress as an old British woman doesn’t sound like the highest-grossing film of the year, but that’s exactly what it was. As a down-on-his-luck actor Daniel Hillard, Williams carries the barebones plot through sheer force of will, which is good because when you stop to think about what’s really going on in the movie, Daniel is absolutely insane. 

Posing as Mrs. Doubtfire becomes more difficult when his ex-wife, Miranda (Sally Field), starts dating again, but her rebound, Stu (Pierce Brosnan), is a fantastic guy who does nothing wrong throughout the film. His dislike of Daniel, even calling him a loser, is how anyone would react in his position. As a kid, all of that went over the heads of the target audience. Williams covering his face in whipped cream and unleashing that bizarre not-quite British accent was all that theater goers needed to lose their minds. 

Still One Of The Greatest Family Comedies Of All Time

The low-stakes is a large part of the charm of Mrs. Doubtfire, which is oddly devoid of any real conflict. Daniel putting his life together in the oddest way possible is the entire point of the story, but you have to imagine if it were made today, more emphasis would be placed on the legal proceedings, maybe the threat of jail time, and of course, some social media influencer finding out about the scheme and going after Daniel about it. Thankfully, back in the 90s, Robin Williams being allowed to be Robin Williams was all that audiences needed. 

Mrs. Doubtfire is a sentimental movie that wears its heart on its sleeve. That’s why it’s been one of the 90s’ most popular and enduring movies since its release over 30 years ago. On Rotten Tomatoes, it sits at a 70 percent critic rating and 77 percent audience rating, both of which seem, to 90s kids, far too low. 

There will never be another performer like Robin Williams. The enthusiasm and pure joy he radiated every second on screen can not be duplicated. No matter what demons he battled throughout his life, Williams left a lasting legacy of timeless classics, including Mrs. Doubtfire, a film that would have crashed and burned with anyone else in the lead, which is still one of the greatest family comedies of all time. 

Defying expectations have never looked so good. Wicked: For Good swoops onto the big screen with just the right amount of magic, mischief, and musical prowess to keep audiences under its spell. Whether you’re an Oz-obsessed fan or a newcomer just following the yellow-brick hype road, this film ensures you’re in for a wickedly fun time — broomsticks optional.

Plot

Now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba lives in exile in the Ozian forest, while Glinda resides at the palace in Emerald City, reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, she’ll need to reunite with Glinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good.

Movie Review

Wicked: For Good is the enchanting cinematic payoff fans of the Broadway sensation have waited years to see. What makes this adaptation soar is not only its visual spectacle but the emotional depth it brings to an already beloved story. With stunning set-pieces and a vibrantly reimagined Oz, the film manages to feel both familiar and refreshingly new.

Erivo returns with real gravitas as Elphaba — now firmly embodying her role as the Wicked Witch of the West. Her performance is powerful, emotionally layered, and yet more vulnerable here than ever. She balances Elphaba’s fierce sense of justice with a deep-seated loneliness, making her stakes feel utterly real. Grande reprises her role as Glinda, and she brings a luminous charm and warmth that contrast beautifully with Erivo’s intensity. In For Good, Glinda’s journey becomes darker and more reflective, and Grande handles that tonal shift deftly, giving Glinda more heart and less glitter — without losing her signature effervescence. As the Wizard, Goldblum brings his trademark charisma and sly menace. His character feels morally complicated in this installment — more than just the typical “all-powerful ruler,” his performance hints at decay and corruption, which gives the film a richer, more ominous undercurrent. 

A Truly Magical Cast

Bailey returns as Fiyero, and his presence feels more grounded and serious than in the first film. He’s less whimsical and more conflicted, which works really well given the emotional and romantic tensions at the heart of For Good. His chemistry with both Glinda and Elphaba helps anchor some of the film’s more intimate moments. Yeoh brings elegance and a subtle menace to Madame Morrible. She’s not just a power broker in Oz — her performance suggests hidden motivations and emotional stakes. She’s no one-note villain, and Yeoh makes her feel like someone operating in shades of grey.

Boq, played by Slater, has a more consequential arc in this film than before. In For Good, his transformation (both emotional and narrative) is more defined, and Slater gets more room to shine. His path feels earnest, and he does well to bring complexity to a character who could easily be sidelined. Bode plays Nessarose, Elphaba’s sister, and the film gives her storyline more weight. Notably, on-screen adaptations changed some aspects of her arc (for example, she flies instead of walking, in the film version), which has raised conversation. Her performance is heartfelt, and her portrayal adds both emotional tension and a fresh dynamic to the sisters’ relationship.

The movie thrives on its central friendship — a layered, complex connection that evolves with warmth, humor, and heart. Both lead performances shine brilliantly, bringing dynamic charisma and genuine vulnerability to their roles. Their chemistry is magnetic, and every shared moment reinforces the emotional core of the narrative.

Musically, longtime fans will rejoice: the iconic songs land with powerfully. The added cinematic scale allows the soundtrack to envelop viewers more completely, while fresh arrangements and new compositions enrich the experience without overshadowing the classics. The choreography and vocal performances elevate each number, crafting scenes that feel like pure, goosebump-filled magic.

From a technical standpoint, the film sparkles. Production design embraces creativity — from whimsical costumes to awe-inspiring landscapes that expand the lore of Oz beautifully. Thoughtful lighting and ambitious camera work turn fantasy into something tangible across every glittering frame. Cameos from certain Wizard of Oz characters ties the story of Glinda and Elphaba into the classic Oz mythology, while not shifting the focus away from the witches. 

Tonally, the movie balances humor, heart, and high-stakes drama with grace. It honors big Broadway emotions while embracing the subtleties that film storytelling allows. Themes of identity, courage, social perception, and moral complexity are delivered in a way that audiences of all ages can connect with.

I highly encourage you to go and watch the prequel, Wicked, and perhaps even consider watching the 1939 classic, ‘The Wizard of Oz’. 

Concluding Remarks

At its best, Wicked: For Good reminds viewers that every story has more than one perspective — especially when the world insists on labeling someone a villain. The pacing is brisk yet grounded, ensuring the emotional journey remains compelling from the first note to the final curtain. The returning cast is one of the biggest strengths of Wicked: For Good. Erivo and Grande remain the heart of the story, delivering performances with real emotional weight. The supporting cast — Goldblum, Yeoh, Bailey, Slater, Bode, and others — deepen the world of Oz with nuance, not just spectacle. Their character arcs feel earned, and the film does justice to the prequel setup laid down in the first movie.

A triumphant musical fantasy that casts a spell from start to finish.
Even without spoilers, it’s easy to say that Wicked: For Good doesn’t just defy gravity — it defies expectations. With unforgettable performances, a beloved soundtrack revitalized, and dazzling cinematic artistry, this film is set to become a classic of the genre.

If you’ve been waiting “for good” for this adaptation… good news. The wait was worth it. I rate this movie 4 out of 5. There is no post-credits scene, so no last minute trick unfortunately. Make sure to follow the yellow-brick road to your nearest cinema, and experience the magic on the big screen, because there is no place like cinema!
