Teenagers charged after knifepoint robbery in Bolton town centre



Two arrests were made in the early hours of Monday after CCTV operators reported to police that an ongoing robbery was taking place in the underpass of Churchgate.  

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers attended and “successfully” stopped two suspects.

Amor Abdullah, 19, of Whixhall Avenue, Manchester, and Shams Benda, 18, of Victoria Grove, Bolton, have both been charged with attempted robbery and possession bladed article.

They have appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday.

Detective Constable Ashcroft, of GMP’s Bolton division, said: “I would like to thank the local CCTV operators at the council office for highlighting the incident.

“Without their monitoring, police would likely not have got to the location in time.”
