When it comes to faith-based films, the cinema has a rich and diverse range of options for viewers to enjoy. From comedies to dramas, animated epics to Hollywood classics, there is no shortage of movies that have been centered around Christian themes. However, when it comes to defining excellence in this multifaceted genre, there are certain movies that keep rising to the top again and again.

Whether it is the visually stunning animation of The Prince of Egypt or the sincere dedication to authenticity in The Passion of the Christ, these movies are the best of the best. Blending a background of biblical stories with new, creative genius, they capture some of the most significant moments from the Bible and bring them to life like never before. With their impactful storytelling and cinematic prowess, these are the four greatest movies based on Bible stories.

‘The Ten Commandments’ (1956)

In the 1940s and 1950s, there was an abundance of epic studio films based on the Bible. Movies like The Robe, Samson and Delilah, and Solomon and Sheba were grand in their scope and scale. The principal movie to come out of this era was The Ten Commandments.

Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, The Ten Commandments follows the life of Moses and includes important events like the 10 plagues of Egypt, the mass exodus of the Hebrew people, and the origin of the Ten Commandments. Charlton Heston was the preeminent actor of the time, and his larger-than-life presence on camera lent itself well to playing the lead role. Yul Brynner, another iconic actor, was irreplaceable as Rameses and brought the pomp and confidence needed to play the stubborn and narcissistic ruler.

DeMille had actually made a silent film called The Ten Commandments back in 1923. This version was half biblical story and half modern-day tale about a family and how the Ten Commandments impacted them. DeMille received so many requests from fans to remake a movie about the Ten Commandments that he did, 33 years later. This time, by focusing solely on the biblical story, the film felt more intentional and captivating. The 1956 version of The Ten Commandments was unlike any other movie before it. It was unmatched for grandeur and sheer enormity. The cast included thousands of extras and live animals, and filming took place in California and Mount Sinai in Egypt.

DeMille’s commitment to what is largely regarded as his magnum opus put his health at risk.

He suffered a heart attack during filming, but refused to abandon the project and returned to the set as soon as he physically could. The Ten Commandments was nominated for seven Oscars and won for its groundbreaking special effects. From the parting of the Red Sea to the pillar of fire, The Ten Commandments had some of the most innovative and spectacular special effects ever captured on screen. Celebrating its 70-year anniversary this year, The Ten Commandments is still as inspiring to watch now as it was upon its advent. When it comes to the sweeping studio epics that are based on the Bible, it is undoubtedly the paragon.

‘The Nativity Story’ (2006)

Movies focusing on the birth of Jesus are mostly animated and focused on children as the audience. The Nativity is left to be a footnote in biblical biopics, seemingly always good to mention, but never really focused on. In 2006, writer Mike Rich and director Catherine Hardwicke released the best biopic focusing solely on the birth of Christ with The Nativity Story.

Casting in a film where there are two or fewer main characters is crucial. The whole story is on their shoulders. They have to have good chemistry with each other and be engaging enough for viewers to want to follow their journey. The casting for The Nativity Story is spot-on, and Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac deliver dynamic performances. Castle-Hughes, who has starred in TV series like Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, is most celebrated for her role in the feature film Whale Rider, where she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the age of 13. Isaac is a superbly talented actor who is able to inhabit a role with the adaptive skill of a chameleon. His roles in films like Ex Machina and Frankenstein have put him on the map in Hollywood and solidified his career as a consummate character actor.

In The Nativity Story, Castle-Hughes is endearing, believable, and captivating as Mary. Isaac is perfect as Joseph, displaying great depths of loyalty, courage, and obedience. Watching the two of them together on screen is wonderful as they try to bond and navigate their way through newlywed life under extraordinary circumstances. The three wise men, portrayed by Nadim Sawalha, Eriq Ebouaney, and Stefan Kalipha, provide jovial levity, and all of the supporting cast, including Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elizabeth and Ciarán Hinds as Herod, are terrific. The Nativity Story’s dedication to authentic cultural and historical representation is refreshing and sets this adaptation apart from its peers. When it comes to depicting this important moment in the life of Christ, The Nativity Story is unmatched in both its acting and overall cinematography.

‘The Prince of Egypt’ (1998)

DreamWorks Animation has gifted the world with some fantastic films. Titles such as How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, and Kung Fu Panda have become fast favorites with moviegoers around the world. In 1998, they released an animated masterpiece called The Prince of Egypt. Similar to The Ten Commandments, The Prince of Egypt follows the life of Moses (Val Kilmer). The cast for the film is tremendous and includes the voice talents of Michelle Pfeiffer, Ralph Fiennes, Sandra Bullock, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Patrick Stewart, and Helen Mirren.

The animation for The Prince of Egypt is absolutely stunning. Hand-drawn images are used predominantly, with computer-generated graphics added in scenes that require it. The parting of the Red Sea is one of the most incredible scenes in animation history and took a reported two years to animate. Renowned film critic Roger Ebert called The Prince of Egypt “one of the best-looking animated films ever made,” and further commented, “The more movies I see, the more grateful I am for new films that go to the trouble of creating astonishing new images.”

In addition to the visually gorgeous aspects of the film, The Prince of Egypt boasts an Oscar-winning song in “When You Believe.” Performed by Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky for the film, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston’s version of the song hit #15 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1999. Hans Zimmer, the maestro behind films such as Dune: Part One and Inception, composed the beautiful score. The music of The Prince of Egypt plays an integral role in the film and includes lighthearted melodies full of texture to poignant lyrics full of drama.

Walt Disney once staked everything he had to prove that animated films could tell compelling stories. Although released by a competitor, The Prince of Egypt more than realizes his vision and proves his point. From the dedicated performances of the highly skilled actors to the award-winning music and phenomenal animation, The Prince of Egypt is an unparalleled triumph. No other biblical animated movie even comes close. The Prince of Egypt is not only one of the best movies based on Bible stories to ever be made, but one of the greatest animated movies of the last 100 years as well.

‘The Passion of the Christ’ (2004)

In 2004, director and co-writer Mel Gibson made history with The Passion of the Christ. A rated-R film depicting the crucifixion of Jesus in gory, unapologetic detail, it soon became the highest-grossing religious movie of all time, and it has the Guinness World Record to prove it. The film earned a global box office take of over $600 million.

What makes The Passion of the Christ so unique is its dedication to realism. Although English-speaking audiences were one of the main target demographics, Gibson chose to predominantly have the actors speak in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Latin because those were the languages of the region and time period. Gibson also chose not to pull any punches when it came to the visceral violence involved in a Roman crucifixion. Every bloody detail is allowed screen time and makes The Passion of the Christ a provocative viewing experience that few walk away from unimpacted.

Gibson and those involved with The Passion of the Christ did what, sadly, few faith-based films had done before: extensive research. The filmmakers not only took the time to learn about the subject matter in detail, but also broke Hollywood norms by refusing to whitewash the cast. Though The Passion of the Christ is not casual viewing and has its share of critics, it made waves in the entertainment industry that current successes like The Chosen and House of David are riding on now. The Passion of the Christ has become the definitive work about the crucifixion of Jesus, and every biblically based biopic released since owes it a debt of gratitude.

Did Sullivan’s Crossing Have Another Surprise Cast Exit?

Published

on

Season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing is already weathering the loss of Scott Patterson‘s fan-favorite character — but did the show just lose another main cast member?

In a clip posted to the show’s social media on Thursday, April 2, Lola (Amalia Williamson) is seen confiding in Maggie (Morgan Kohan) and Sydney (Lindura Sappong) about potentially leaving the area.

“Maybe losing my internship isn’t such a bad thing after all,” she shared in the sneak peek. “Now there’s nothing stopping me from visiting Jacob in Calgary.”

Lola admitted that the “summer fling” turned into something more, adding, “I didn’t realize how much I’d actually miss him. He invited me to collect samples with him in the Rockies — and I’ve never been outside of Nova Scotia before.”

“We will miss you, Lola,” read the caption for the post, which also included the text, “Is this goodbye?”

Viewers — at least the ones in the U.S. — will have to wait until later this month to get more clarity on Williamson’s future on the show. While some social media users took to the comments to question if Lola would be temporarily absent amid Williamson’s pregnancy, others expressed frustration that they wouldn’t get an immediate answer about the character’s future on the hit series.

Sullivan’s Crossing originally returned March 22 on CTV. After airing in Canada, the show will follow up with April 20, 2026, on The CW and then on Netflix, presumably in the summer once the show wraps up on cable.

Before its premiere, Us Weekly broke the news in March that Patterson, 67, would not be reprising his role as Sully when season 4 returns.

“Season 3 of Sullivan’s Crossing ended with Sully leaving for Ireland, beginning a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the next day, with Sully still overseas,” Sullivan’s Crossing executive producer and showrunner Roma Roth exclusively told Us. “While he isn’t physically present in this season, the character remains an important part of the world with the potential to be included in future seasons should that align with the ongoing creative.”

In response, Patterson hinted at what caused his surprising departure, writing via Instagram, “The creative differences were becoming untenable and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue.”

Patterson clarified it wasn’t his choice to leave Sullivan’s Crossing.

“It’s unfortunate that it is now being implied that they moved on from me/Sully when the fact is the complete opposite, and those who sadly already have spoken out are also fully aware of this fact, and yet chose to say otherwise,” he continued. “I was not intending to make any statement but the fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth as I have always been respectful of those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so dang lucky and blessed to portray and bring to life.”

Seasons 1 through 3 of Sullivan’s Crossing are currently streaming on Netflix. Season 4 premieres on The CW April 20 at 8 p.m. ET

Summer House Spinoff In the City: Everything to Know

Published

on

The Summer House universe is expanding with a new series starring Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke and Lindsay Hubbard.

Us Weekly confirmed in 2025 that Bravo is planning to launch a spinoff of its popular reality show in 2026.

Titled In the City, the show will feature a few familiar faces from Summer House as they navigate life in the Big Apple instead of their unforgettable weekends in the Hamptons.

“In the city that never sleeps, a group of New Yorkers navigate the biggest transitions of their lives — marriage, parenthood, reinvention and the reality of growing up without growing apart,” In the City’s official logline reads. “Can they have it all, or will they need to choose between the lives they’ve built and the futures they never saw coming?”

After In the City reportedly wrapped filming for its inaugural season, news broke that Amanda was dating Summer House costar West Wilson following her separation from Kyle. Amanda and West, who previously dated Ciara Miller, confirmed their relationship in March 2026.

Who Will Star in Bravo’s ‘In the City’?

On November 13, 2025, Bravo confirmed Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke and Lindsay Hubbard are three cast members who will absolutely appear in the new series.

Kyle and Lindsay helped launch Summer House when it premiered in 2017. Amanda made guest appearances on season 1 before becoming Kyle’s official girlfriend. Viewers later watched the pair get engaged in season 3 and married in season 6.

Bravo said the remainder of the ensemble cast will be announced at a later date.

What Has Lindsay Hubbard Been Up to?

During the Summer House season 9 reunion in June 2025, Lindsay confirmed she put her romantic relationship with Turner on pause.

“We are just focused on being the best parents we can be to Gemma,” she told Bravo exec Andy Cohen. “We are coparents.”

What Have Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula Been Up to?

In September 2025, Kyle Cooke celebrated his four-year wedding anniversary to Amanda Batula with dinner at Chelsea Living Room in New York City.

Two months later, a report surfaced that the pair were living separately, but a source close to the couple told Us in November 2025 that was not the case.

“They are going through a challenging time,” the insider said, adding that despite any struggles, they are “both committed to making the relationship work.”

Kyle and Amanda announced in January 2026 that they had separated. As of March 2026, they are not divorced, but are no longer living together.

Amanda noted that even with her split from Kyle, she has no plans to stop working on reality TV — including In the City.

“It’s going to be a whole different concept where it’s more about couples and that next phase in life. You’re seeing different couples at different phases too,” Amanda teased of the spinoff. “It’s not the partying in the Hamptons that you’re used to. It’s a lot more relationship-based.”

While Amanda Batula is starring on the spinoff, it is unclear if her relationship with West Wilson will be on the show. Filming for In The City reportedly wrapped ahead of the couple’s relationship reveal in March 2026.

‘American Gangster’ (2007)

Rotten Tomatoes: 81% | IMDb: 7.8/10

As the first days of April arrive, this weekend brings with it a smorgasbord of new and returning titles to the Netflix catalog. Among them is American Gangster, a 2007 docudrama starring Denzel Washington as the titular gangster, Frank Lucas. As he rises through the ranks of the 1960s drug trade, Lucas quickly comes under the radar of Newark Detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe).

Directed and produced by Ridley Scott and written by Steven Zaillian, the film earned a pair of Academy Award nominations, including a nomination for Ruby Dee in the Best Supporting Actress category. The film also features performances from Cuba Gooding Jr., Josh Brolin, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

‘Mission: Impossible’ (1996)

Rotten Tomatoes: 67% | IMDb: 7.2/10

If you’re looking for tense thrills this weekend, then you simply can’t go wrong with the movie that kicked off one of the best modern franchises. Released in 1996, Mission: Impossible was a global audience’s introduction to Tom Cruises Ethan Hunt, as, whilst under suspicion of disloyalty, he fights to clear his name by discovering who the real traitor is.

A pulse-racing classic that has only got better with age, Mission: Impossible might not be the best in the franchise, but as the first, it deserves even more credit. Directed by Brian De Palma, the movie is best known for Cruise’s lead performance, but it also features a stellar ensemble, including Jon Voight as Jim Phelps, Emmanuelle Béart as Claire Phelps, Jean Reno as Franz Krieger, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Kristin Scott Thomas as Sarah Davies, Vanessa Redgrave as Max, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.

3

‘Atonement’ (2007)

Rotten Tomatoes: 83% | IMDb: 7.8/10

Another new arrival to the Netflix catalog at the start of this month,Joe Wright‘s visuallystunningAtonement, adapted from Ian McEwan‘s 2001 novel, follows a 13-year-old girl’s (Saoirse Ronan) false accusation of her older sister’s lover and the many lives that are altered forever as a consequence.

One of the finest period dramas you can find on Netflix right now, Atonement is as narratively indulgent as it is a treat for the eyes. Featuring many great performances from some of the finest British actors, it is a young Ronan who steals the show in a turn that would earn her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, making her the seventh youngest ever to do so.

Philly Coffee Shop Was Cover for Drug Trafficking Ring

Published

on

Authorities in Pennsylvania have decimated a drug trafficking ring they claim was being run out of a storefront set up to look like a coffee shop.

On Friday, March 27, Operation Cocaine and Coffee led to the arrests of 17 individuals and the seizure of crack cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, ecstasy pills, cash, 27 firearms, four pounds of pure cocaine and 130 pounds of marijuana.

According to investigators, the Cumberland Coffee and Snacks in North Philadelphia was a faux business that acted as a cover for a street-level drug ring. The exact address was not provided by authorities.

Several longtime, “senior figures” in the Philadelphia criminal world were part of the operation, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced on Sunday, March 29.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Philadelphia Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies were involved in the takedown of “the Louis Alexander Drug Trafficking Organization.”

Alexander, 56, was identified as the drug ring’s leader and his bail has been set at a whopping $750,000.

The United States Department of Justice has indicted former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding on murder and money laundering charges related to an alleged drug trafficking ring that funneled drugs from Mexico into the U.S. and Canada. Attorney General Pam Bondi accused Wedding, 44, in a press conference on Wednesday, November 19, of ordering a hit […]

The 17 defendants “face a variety of charges, including felony counts of corrupt organizations, possession with intent to deliver, and illegal possession of firearms,” according to a press release on the operation. “Many are incarcerated following arraignments.”

Also charged were Carl Gates, Kendal Wilson, Gloria Alexander, Isaiah Washington-Trotty, Tyrone Scott, Marcus Clark, Isaiah Gallashaw, Cedric Carter, Paul Johnson, Eric Crawford, Corey Smith, Steven Birton, Tammika Billups, Domanick Pope, Calvin Gambrell, and Philip Smith.

The statement said that 16 of the codefendants were busted in 30 locations during the execution of search warrants, including in neighboring New Jersey. Police said the last suspect turned themselves in but failed to specify who that was.

“Today marks a new day for North Philadelphians who were, for far too long, exposed to a group of criminals who did not hesitate to carry firearms to protect their lucrative trade — distributing poisons,” Sunday said. “For years, with our partners, we assembled cases against each and every charged defendant so when we took action, it would be the end of this criminal enterprise.”

Tayler Byrd is turning the page, and fans are here for it. Nearly a year after her rocky split on “Temptation Island,” the reality star is making headlines again, this time for her love life. Byrd recently took to TikTok to reveal a new relationship, surprising followers with a video that quickly sparked reactions across social media.

Tayler Byrd And Tyler Breshears’ Relationship Fell Apart On The Show

Tayler Byrd’s journey on “Temptation Island” was anything but smooth. Her relationship with Tyler Breshears began unraveling early in the experience, as his attention noticeably shifted toward fellow contestant Kay Carlson. While the situation didn’t escalate into headline-grabbing chaos like some of the show’s more infamous moments, the emotional disconnect was clear.

Host Mark L. Walberg spoke with Netflix about the relationship, to which he explained, “In Tayler’s case, when she said, ‘I’m not worthy of being loved,’ that’s when I get my dad vibe on.”

“I’m like, ‘Look, I know you don’t feel it right now, but that’s a lie, and we’re going to work through that so you know the truth,’” he continued. “When Case came back, I wasn’t trying to say, ‘Hey, here’s your hookup,’ but I was saying, ‘This is a subtle reminder that you aren’t unlovable, and if nothing else, I love you. I got you.’ That’s an example of where we step out of the format a little bit. That was unexpected.”

From cozy moments with Kay Carlson to private confessions, Tyler’s focus had clearly moved on, and Byrd eventually followed suit.

A New Connection With Yamen Sanders Offered Hope

As her relationship with Tyler faded, Byrd found herself exploring a new connection with Yamen Sanders.

The two spent significant time together, building a bond that gave viewers hope she might leave the island with a fresh start. Byrd even chose Sanders for her final overnight date, signaling just how strong their connection had become.

“I mean, it’s funny, things between her and me were a slow burn for the most part, but they started getting pretty nice there towards the end,” Sanders said during a reunion last year. “There were definitely some emotions involved, and we really enjoyed each other.”

Despite that spark, Byrd ultimately chose herself.

Tayler Byrd Walked Away Solo, But Stronger

In a move that resonated with fans, Byrd decided to leave “Temptation Island” on her own, officially ending things with Tyler and prioritizing her personal growth.

Although she and Sanders maintained a connection after the show, Byrd’s decision made it clear she wasn’t willing to settle, and was focused on what was best for her moving forward. “We enjoy each other’s company, we talk every day, and we are seeing where things go,” Sanders said during the reunion.

Tayler Byrd Reveals New Relationship In Viral TikTok

Now, nearly a year later, Byrd is embracing a new chapter and a new romance. In a recent TikTok, the reality star is seen dancing solo in a leopard-print bikini before pulling another woman into the frame. The two appear smiling, hugging closely, and walking off together, subtly confirming Byrd’s new relationship.

The video quickly gained traction, with fans flooding the comments section in support. “Wait I missed a chapter,” one user said, seemingly referring to the fact that Tayler is part of the LGBTQ community. “Wait I missed a chapter. Loving this for you!!!” another echoed.

Others expressed how happy they are for the reality television star, with one user writing, “Yesss momma! Happiness looks so beautiful on you!” Another said,  “You know what HELL YES Tayler.”

Her TikTok bio also now has a rainbow emoji, indicating she is, in fact, part of the LGBTQ community.

Tayler Byrd Rings In 32nd Birthday With Mexico Getaway

Byrd’s relationship reveal comes as she’s also celebrating a major personal milestone. The reality star recently rang in her 32nd birthday with a getaway to Mexico, soaking up the sun and embracing a carefree, celebratory vibe.

The reality star shared a photo dump from her Mexico getaway, giving followers a glimpse into her sun-soaked celebration. In one shot, Byrd posed against a rocky beach backdrop in a red patterned dress, serving vacation glam while accessorizing with gold jewelry and a woven tote.

William Shatner is alive and well. The veteran actor took the time to debunk fake news circulating about him online, assuring his fans that he isn’t dying of cancer while also shutting down other false claims. Shatner called out the source of the unfounded rumors and warned fans to take stories about him with a grain of salt unless they come directly from him.

On April 2, the “Star Trek” actor took to social media to alert his followers to a few fake stories circulating online about him. As he noted, he wanted to post on April 1 but feared followers would take it as an April Fool’s Day joke.

“There is a page on @facebook that is using AI to create horrible fake news stories about me,” Shatner wrote, adding the page he was referring to: Beanstalk Functions. The actor added, “This is the downside of AI and yellow journalism. While it can be a wonderful tool in the right hands, it can be used as a weapon in the wrong hands.”

On X, Shatner wrote, “My daughter came over to tell me her daughter heard that I had brain cancer.” He accompanied the post with a photo of himself that his daughter took as proof that he is doing well, saying he’s “fit as a fiddle.”

Some Fake News About The Actor

In his post, Shatner included screenshots of the news stories from the Beanstalk Functions page. One post read that he was “diagnosed with stage IV glioblastoma.” Another was an AI-generated photo of the actor on a hospital bed, smiling. Another post read, “Erika Kirk Insults William Shatner: ‘Sit down, you 60-year-old rock star’.”

“None of these stories are true but they apparently seem genuine enough for fans to repost them across social media and send messages of support to me and my family all while the culprits behind the account make money,” Shatner wrote.

The Beanstalk Functions profile claims it’s a Cape Town, South Africa-based events company. “We are here to help you Celebrate, Innovate, and Decorate,” it read.

In his post, Shatner said that he has alerted Facebook Support, but they won’t take the page down. Hours later, however, the Facebook page was no longer available.

The actor did some deep research and said the stories from Beanstalk Functions were linked to a website hosted on Next.js. He contacted Guillermo Rauch, the CEO of Vercel, which oversees Next.js, asking him to “remove the posted fake AI stories” created by Beanstalk Functions. However, he was told, “the company cannot see a reason” to remove them, as he shared on X.

Shatner pointed out Vercel’s Terms and Conditions, citing sections about fraud, scams, and HIPAA violations. “I guess a fake story revealing I supposedly have brain cancer doesn’t fall under HIPAA?” the actor wrote.

The Actor Recently Underwent Surgery

While he isn’t battling cancer, Shatner recently had surgery on his shoulder. As The Blast reported in early March, he had a nasty fall while out riding his horse. He explained that his horse went too fast, which sent him flying off her back.

Shatner, who did many of his own stunts in his decades-long career, said he tried to lessen the impact as he went down, but he still sustained an injury. “I started to roll, but hit the dirt with my shoulder. So I wrecked my shoulder,” he explained.

After the surgery, Shatner updated his followers on social media, saying that the procedure went well.

William Shatner Just Celebrated His 95th Birthday

Shatner is showing no signs of slowing down. On March 22, the veteran actor celebrated his 95th birthday, sharing a photo of himself smoking a cigar on social media. “At 95, I’m still smokin’! I’ve learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who says you should ‘act your age,’” he captioned the post.

Shatner remains active and will be on the “William Shatner Live on Stage” tour this April. After a screening of “Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan,” the actor will share anecdotes from his long career and engage with audiences. He is also currently working with some of the biggest names in heavy metal on his upcoming album.
