LeBron James Criticizes Rockets for Disrespecting Son Bronny
It was the alley-oop heard ‘round the world between LeBron James and his son, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr.
The duo connected for the NBA’s first-ever alley-oop bucket between a dad and his son during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 112-108 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday, April 24.
“He was calling for it,” LeBron said of the historic moment after the game. “I’ve seen his steps for so long, and he was gathering, and I was like, ‘Just go get it,’ so I was happy he was able to go up and reverse it.”
LeBron — who finished the game with 29 points and 13 rebounds — also called out the Rockets for allegedly showing “disrespect” towards his son in regards to Bronny’s three-point shooting skills.
Bronny hit a three-pointer in the second quarter of Friday’s game, off a screen from his dad.
“He also made a three when they tried to disrespect him and go under on a pick-and-roll,” LeBron told reporters. “He gave us great minutes; everybody who played gave us great minutes, but that was a special moment, obviously.”
He continued, “Young players, the amount of confidence that a young kid in our league can get from a postseason game. You would never get nervous from a regular-season moment ever again when you play meaningful postseason games in postseason minutes, and he’s done that, and I think that’s just pretty cool for his career, for his confidence.”

Bronny finished 2-for-2 from the floor with five points (the three-pointer and the alley-oop). With stars Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves still out with injuries, Bronny has helped cover minutes throughout the playoffs.
Earlier in the series — on April 19 — LeBron and Bronny became the first father-son duo in NBA history to play together in a playoff game.
“There’s a lot of crazy things that’s been going on this year,” LeBron told reporters after the Game 1 victory. “I mean, I was on the floor with my son in a playoff game. That’s probably the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me in my career.”
He continued, “It was just so cool to be out there with [Bronny]. With his brother (Bryce) and sister (Zhuri) and mom (Savannah James) in the building. And his grandma.”
The Lakers hold a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, with a chance to move to the next round of the NBA playoffs with a win over the Rockets on Sunday, April 26.
Bronny’s role throughout the postseason continues to develop as the budding star sees more opportunity for playing time in the playoffs.

Leaving Neverland Director Compares Michael Jackson to Epstein
Leaving Neverland director Dan Reed is leveling new claims against the late pop star Michael Jackson amid the new biopic, aptly named Michael.
“I think clearly some of the press is sucking up to the Jackson machine because: A, the estate and the fan base has always ensured that the price of criticizing Michael is years of invective and smears and what have you,” Reed claimed to The Hollywood Reporter in an extensive interview published on Wednesday, April 22.
“And B, there’s a ton of money to be made by any kind of association with the Jackson IP,” he continued. “If you can get on board and be part of the success of this movie, then that’s going to be good for you. So a lot of people, I think, will kind of swallow any misgivings they may have and just sort of say, ‘Oh well, it’s a great jukebox movie’ and just completely ignore the fact that this guy was worse than Jeffrey Epstein.”
(Epstein, a convicted sex offender and known pedophile, died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on child sex charges. He was 66.)
Leaving Neverland, a four-hour documentary which premiered on HBO in 2019, detailed Wade Robson and James Safechuck’s detailed allegations of child sexual abuse against Jackson, who died in 2009 of an accidental overdose. The film, which won an Emmy, was described by the Jackson Estate as “a complete fiction” that was “completely one-sided.”
According to Reed, Jackson’s estate sued HBO, arguing that a 1992 contract with the network for a concert in Budapest included a non-disparagement clause that made it illegal for the platform to air or house “anything nasty about Michael” in perpetuity.

Dan Reed, the late Michael Jackson Getty Images
HBO settled out of court and quietly removed Leaving Neverland from its platform.
Us Weekly has reached out to the Jackson estate for comment regarding the lawsuit and Reed’s additional claims about the pop star.
Jackson was accused of child sex abuse for years before his untimely death. He consistently maintained his innocence. After the Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation into Jackson in 1993, he settled a $30 million lawsuit out of court, agreeing to pay alleged victim Jordan Chandler $15 million via a trust to be accessible when he turned 18. The alleged victim’s parents, June and Evan Chandler, each received $1.5 million. A grand jury ultimately declined to indict Jackson.
In 2003, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney’s office renewed their investigation into Jackson, and on December 18, 2003, he was formally charged with partaking in lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.
On June 14, 2004, after deliberating for 32 hours over seven days, the jury found Jackson not guilty on all charges.
In 2020, the Financial Times reported that the Jackson estate quietly agreed to pay a $16.5 million settlement to a group of accusers who threatened to come forward with new allegations of child sex abuse against Jackson in 2019. The Jackson estate reportedly brought an arbitration claim against one of the accusers, claiming he was fabricating allegations to secure an additional $213 million settlement.
Just this February, the Cascio family sued Jackson’s estate, claiming Jackson was a “serial child predator who, over the course of more than a decade, drugs, raped, and sexually assaulted each of the plaintiffs, beginning when some were as young as seven or eight.”
The Jackson estate disputed the claims, calling the lawsuit a “desperate money grab” and “a transparent forum-shopping tactic in their scheme to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars from Michaels’ estate and companies.” On March 4, a judge granted the Jackson estate’s motion to force the dispute over the Cascio family settlement into arbitration.
“I learned that Michael Jackson f***ed little boys,” Reed told The Hollywood Reporter of what he learned while making Leaving Neverland. “That’s what I learned. I don’t make documentaries about celebrities or pop music or any kind of music. I make documentaries about terror attacks and war and stuff. And so as a filmmaker, this was off my usual beat, but I saw it as a chance to make something about child sexual abuse, which I had actually touched on in a previous film.”
He continued, “How can you tell an authentic story about Michael Jackson without ever mentioning the fact that he was seriously accused of being a child molester? I just don’t really see it. If anyone’s making money, it’s Michael Jackson’s estate and the people who worked on this biographical picture. Wade and James, the protagonists of Leaving Neverland, have never made a cent from their accusations. People don’t seem to understand: If you bring a lawsuit, you don’t get any money until you win in court. And when you win in court, that means you’ve proved your case, right?”
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
If you or someone you know is experiencing child abuse, call or text Child Help Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.

Singer John Mayer Defends ‘Too Passive’ 2006 Hit Song
Award-winning singer John Mayer is seemingly addressing the current political turmoil in the United States while defending his hit 2006 song “Waiting on the World to Change.”
“If your car broke down, or let’s say you got locked out of your car, and somebody walked up to you and said, ‘Why can’t you get in your car? What are you doing right now?’ And [you reply], ‘I’m waiting for AAA,” Mayer, 48, said while performing at HISTORYTalks in Philadelphia on April 17, according to a Saturday, April 25, report from People.
“Sometimes there are some people who say, ‘Why don’t you just smash through the window and just unlock it inside of the car?’ Some people go, ‘Just wait for your roadside assistance,’” Mayer reportedly continued. “Theoretically, now, I wrote that song 20 years ago. AAA hasn’t shown up.”
The singer concluded, “John Mayer makes an incisive remark at the 250th anniversary [of the United States].”
After a member of the audience requested that Mayer play his 2006 hit, the singer admitted that he received criticism over the “passive” song.
“It is a good idea. Sound and responsible,” Mayer said of the idea of simply waiting for the world to change. “A lot of people thought it was passive. It was too passive.”

The song, part of Mayer’s third studio album, Continuum, was met with mixed reviews after its August 1, 2006, release. The New York Times described the tune as a “lovely and anger-free ode to a vaguely dissatisfied generation.”
“Preaching the gospel of non-action and civic apathy, the song has the gravitas of an infomercial but only a fraction of the soul,” Pitchfork wrote.
While notably apt to avoid making public political statements, Mayer — who campaigned for former President Barack Obama — once claimed that current President Donald Trump would have a “lovely speaking voice” if he wasn’t saying things that are controversial, divisive and in some instances dangerous.
“If Donald Trump weren’t saying the things he was saying, and he was saying things that are benign, he’d have a lovely speaking voice,” Mayer told former late night talk show host Conan O’Brien on a January 2024 episode of his “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast.
“I like when he reads from the teleprompter, then reacts to the teleprompter as he’s speaking,” Mayer continued. “He’s sort of reading for the first time. And you can always feel the binary when he goes, ‘Oh yeah they should be.’”

Kandi Burruss And Todd Tucker Go At It On Social Media
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker may have recently finalized their messy divorce, but that doesn’t mean that the exes are on the friendliest of terms.
The two recently traded words on social media, and based on the back-and-forth, things are less than amicable between them.

In the clip, Mama Joyce is humming the Motown classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and video footage then features a flashback to “RHOA” when Mama Joyce told Tucker, “ain’t river high enough, ain’t no ocean deep enough, ain’t no desert hot enough, to keep me off your a— baby.”
Tucker caught wind of the shady video and dropped down in the comments to share his thoughts.
“They will use me until I’m all used up! And I was supposed to be the opportunist! Damn! Get your tickets!” he wrote.
Kandi then replied, “@todd167 please stop playing victim…wrong road…wrong road.”
Fans Responded To The Back-And-Forth Between The Exes

Over on Reddit’s BravoRealHousewives forum, fans expressed their opinions about the latest back-and-forth between the former couple.
“I thought their divorce was finalized and a settlement was reached,” one Redditor wrote. “What is the benefit of airing out dirty laundry at this point other than to be petty and make the family dynamics increasingly uncomfortable?”
“You know what bothers me the most about this entire thing? That Mama Joyce was right. Cos my god, I bet she is gloating like a motherf-cker right about now. She’s gotta be insufferable, probably dancing around and being a pill,” another shared.
“I’m sure that Todd sucks, but I also think that Kandi is really tacky. Not everything needs to be monetized, damn,” a third user commented.
“Todd could find any woman who was not on reality TV; however, he chose Kandi,” wrote another. “He was thirsty and an opportunist from the beginning.”
Burruss Agreed To Pay Six-Figure Settlement In Divorce From Tucker In March 2025

Per TMZ, Kandi Burruss agreed to pay Todd Tucker a $426,000 settlement in their divorce, while both parties agreed to split their credit card points.
Neither party will pay child or spousal support, and they will both share joint legal and physical custody.
Additionally, Burruss will keep her 2022 Bentley SUV, Cadillac Escalade, Ford F-250, Porsche Cayenne SUV, and a 1963 Chevrolet Camaro. Tucker will also have multiple vehicles per the settlement: a 2020 Mercedes G-Wagon, a 2020 Porsche 911, a 2023 Range Rover, a 1973 Ford Bronco, a 1963 Lincoln, and a Ford Transit Van.
According to the settlement, the former married couple also agreed to sell their food truck, while their real estate assets will be divided equally.
Burruss and Tucker’s settlement comes months after the reality star announced their separation shortly after BravoCon in November 2025.
“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family,” she said at the time.
Burruss Previously Revealed When She Knew Her Marriage Was Over

During a February 2026 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” host Andy Cohen asked the former “RHOA” star how long she had been considering divorcing Tucker.
“It happened in July. In July, I was like, ‘yeah, nah, I can’t do this anymore,” she said.
When asked if there was a specific instance that led to the dissolution of the marriage after 11 years, Burruss said there was. “Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened. I’m not talking about it on ‘Watch What Happens Live.’”
As for how Mama Joyce responded to the divorce news, Burress stated, “She had been pretty calm. She’s been trying not to say too much. Sometimes the internet, you know, conversation can get in her head.”
She Also Discussed The Support She’s Received From Her Family

Also, while on “Watch What Happens Live,” Kandi Burruss shared that in addition to her mother, other family members have offered support.
“They’ve just been very supportive,” she told Cohen. “Well, you know Aunt Bertha’s going to dementia, but Aunt Nora’s been very supportive.”

Beyonce Marks 25th Anniversary of Destiny’s Child’s Survivor
It’s been 25 years since Destiny’s Child blew Us away with Survivor — an anniversary that Beyoncé will never forget.
“Today celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Destiny’s Child‘s third album, Survivor ❤️🙏🏽,” Beyoncé, 44, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, April 25. “To my soul sisters, I thank God for you both. It’s an honor to sing through life with you ladies by my side.”
She continued, “Behind the curtains, beyond the lights, forever my Angels. Ma kee ta ta 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.”
Destiny’s Child released their third album, Survivor, in April 2001, featuring hit tracks including “Survivor,” “Independent Woman Part I,” “Bootylicious” and “Nasty Girl.”
Beyoncé was a founding member of Destiny’s Child alongside Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. Roberson, 44, and Luckett, 45, left the girl group in 2000 before Michelle Williams came aboard. The group disbanded six years later when Beyoncé, Rowland, 45, and Williams, 46, all pursued solo careers.
While Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams have each found enormous success on their own, they have remained close. Beyoncé invited her former bandmates to perform at several of her concerts, including the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show, a headlining set at Coachella in 2018 and a 2025 Cowboy Carter Tour show.
Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew Knowles, has even been vocal about the girls’ decision to continue performing together while simultaneously supporting each other’s solo endeavors.
“I certainly hope so. I also understand that Kelly and Beyoncé are mothers and they have a family and that changes the dynamics,” Knowles, 74, exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2020. “Each one of the ladies are successful in their own right. They all have their individual solo careers. So coordinating family, careers, that’s a lot of juggling. I’m sure in due time the ladies will decide if that’s what they want to do and if they do or do not as supportive as I could be as their manager.”
He continued at the time, “[Their Coachella performance] shows how much they practiced, that 10 years later they cannot miss a beat. It’s just remarkable. It shows that their dedication was really there. I know these ladies, they have strong work ethics. I’m extremely proud of all three of them.”
Rowland shares two sons with her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, while Beyoncé and Jay-Z are parents of three.
Beyoncé and Rowland even recently cheered on Williams during a 2024 performance of Death Becomes Her on Broadway.
“I would actually love for them to [perform on Broadway],” Williams exclusively told Us in November 2024. “I think they’re very capable of starring in a Broadway show — absolutely!”

8 Netflix Fantasy Shows That Nobody Remembers
Netflix is well known for its TV greats, and some of its fantasy shows are definitely the best, while others may be fantastic but aren’t very enduring. The platform has released several ambitious, genre-blending blasts that have sadly slipped far from attention. From amazing stories filled with magic and mystery to bold, dark reimaginings of classic myths, there are quite a few underappreciated fantasy gems that have faded so much that they have become almost misplaced in the vast TV landscape.
Fantasy series like the brilliant Norwegian Norse mythology reimagining Ragnarok and the abruptly canceled supernatural show Warrior Nun, which combines mythology, emotional storytelling, and action, are just two in the Netflix catalog that have become well-hidden gems. On this list are other such shows, unnoticed fantasies on Netflix that nobody seems to remember.
1
‘The Order’ (2019–2020)
The Order is an enchanting blend of secret societies, dark magic, and supernatural strife, set against a college backdrop. The series follows Jack Morton (Jake Manley) as he arrives at Belgrave University with the intentions of avenging his mother, only to wind up pledging to a secret magical society, where Alyssa Drake (Sarah Grey) becomes both his guide and moral complication.
The Order, during its run, wasn’t a very talked-about series, despite how addictive it was. The series has mostly been forgotten by Netflix subscribers, as it’s now overshadowed by more immersive hits with much more expansive worlds. Though The Order does have its flaws and is often noted only when it’s being dubbed disposable streamer pulp, its soapy supernatural story is quite captivating. Its concept is genuinely entertaining as it graduates from its derivative-looking YA packaging into a weird, funny, high-concept supernatural drama with sharper mythology than it initially appears to have. The Order may not be one of Netflix’s fantasy finest, but the show is quite compelling and deserved far more attention than it ever received.
2
‘Hilda’ (2018–2023)
This Netflix animated series delivers quite the captivating bout of whimsy and adventure. Hilda, an extremely enchanting fantasy series, centers on a fearless blue-haired girl named Hilda (Bella Ramsey), who leaves a wilderness of giants, elves, and spirits for Trolberg, a bustling city packed with new friends and mysterious creatures.
Hilda is too underappreciated for being such a charming series. With a soft animation style, the show explores a richly imagined fantasy world filled with wonder and mystery. Hilda carries an emotional weight that audiences tend not to expect, hidden beneath its gentle tone and warm visuals. Few shows even host a fraction of the animated series’ emotional intelligence, with its softness and sincerity that make it a standout in terms of tonal precision. Hilda is a storybook come to life, with a warmth and sweetness that isn’t overpowering, and a melancholy that isn’t dreary. The series may be mostly forgotten and frequently overlooked, but it is truly beloved by those who have seen it.
3
‘Warrior Nun’ (2020–2022)
Warrior Nun is an underappreciated Netflix drama that combines high-energy supernatural action with religious mythology. The show focuses on Ava Silva (Alba Baptista), who wakes up from death in a morgue with a supernatural Halo embedded in her back and is instantly thrown into a chaotic battle against demons as she is now attached to the Order of the Cruciform Sword.
From its action to its character arcs, Warrior Nun is genuinely a captivating watch with a devoted fan following who have often expressed their frustration at the show’s abrupt cancellation after its second season. The series may not be very well-known, but it’s a balanced spectacle with emotional storytelling that leaves a lasting impression, despite its short run. Warrior Nun is honestly a lot less campy than its premise suggests, which garnered the series its loyal fanbase, as it turned out to be so much more than what viewers first expected. With the series cut short rather soon, it has consistently faded into the background, being replaced by bigger names in the fantasy lineup on Netflix.
4
‘Luna Nera’ (2020)
This darker, more atmospheric take on witchcraft and folklore explores magic through a grounded and eerie lens. Set in historical Italy, Luna Nera follows a teenage midwife named Ade (Antonia Fotaras) as she is accused of witchcraft, and is pulled between the women of a hidden magical lineage and the forbidden tenderness of Pietro (Giorgio Belli).
With a mix of supernatural elements and historical drama, Luna Nera delivers quite the story in an impeccably striking way. Its tone and visuals make it a solid standout among Netflix’s fantasy collection, as it delivers a truly haunting narrative that lingers beyond its runtime. Luna Nera may not be one of the streaming platform’s true champions of the fantasy genre, but it holds its own, even with its minuscule following. Luna Nera is a constantly overlooked gem that has slipped under the radar often enough that, sadly, most hardly remember it exists.
5
‘Cursed’ (2020)
Cursed brilliantly delivers the reimagining of an Arthurian legend using a darker and more character-driven approach. The bold series centers around the teenage sorceress, Nimue (Katherine Langford), as she embarks on an intense journey to deliver to Merlin a powerful and ancient sword.
Cursed is one of Netflix’s most ambitious fantasy series. Its bold vision made it an easy favorite for those who took a chance on it. Sadly, the series didn’t get an opportunity to manifest its potential due to a rather abrupt cancellation after its first season. Cursed was a clear contender for expansion, with its richly built world that was truly ready for deeper exploration. Today, the series sadly sits on Netflix’s shelf of unknown watches that have been forgotten by most fantasy enthusiasts.
6
‘Locke & Key’ (2020–2022)
This cult favorite is as underrated as they come. The Netflix fantasy series Locke & Key focuses on the Locke family — Tyler Locke (Connor Jessup), Kinsey Locke (Emilia Jones), and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott), along with their mother, Nina Locke (Darby Stanchfield) — after the murder of their father, Rendell Locke. They move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, where they discover several magical keys that unlock different abilities, as well as very dark secrets.
Locke & Key delivers a truly epic fantasy that has unfortunately never gotten the attention it deserves. With a strong mix of emotional storytelling and tons of supernatural elements, the show makes for some pretty great TV. Locke & Key is one of Netflix’s most beloved underrated treasures that has gained a decent-sized loyal following. It may lie largely overlooked and go mostly unknown to the platform’s subscribers, but it remains an extremely entertaining entry that keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end.
7
‘Ragnarok’ (2020–2023)
Ragnarok is an exceptionally ambitious reimagining of Norse mythology in a modern-day setting. The Norwegian fantasy drama centers around awkward teen Magne (David Stakston) in the polluted town of Edda, as he discovers he is the reincarnation of Thor and must battle the Jutuls — a family of giants who are disguised as humans set on destroying the environment.
Ragnarok is a genuinely captivating fantasy series, one of Netflix’s best. While most have no idea the show actually exists, and many of its past viewers have forgotten that it sits on the streaming platform’s fantasy shelf, Ragnarok is still extremely cherished by the few who took a chance on it and were truly captivated by the Nowiegien gem. Ragnarok stands as a fantastic modern fantasy that has unfortunately quietly slipped past many viewers, but it does remain as a unique take on a well-known mythology and continues to resonate through its strong performances, grounded storytelling, and a thoughtful reimagining of Norse legends in a contemporary setting.
8
‘Disenchantment’ (2018–2023)
This ironically enchanting watch is probably one of Netflix’s most underrated adult animated series ever. Set in the wondrous medieval kingdom of Dreamland, Disenchantment follows the wild, rebellious, alcoholic Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson) as she and her odd companions navigate magical conspiracies, chaotic adventures, and complex family dynamics.
With a compelling combo of sharp humor and thrilling fantasy, Disenchantment delivers a quirky series that deserves far more attention than it’s ever received. The show is a unique watch that leans more into a slower, serialized fantasy with a surprisingly melancholic tone, which is actually very entertaining for an animated series. Disenchantment may not be what most viewers would expect from an animated fantasy, which has led to a lack of consistent viewership, but the show’s willingness to take risks and tell a more layered story makes it an underrated good-time that is heavily appreciated by diehard fantasy fans.
