Clint Eastwood Directed And Starred In This Criminally Underrated War Movie
By Britta DeVore
| Published

When it comes to creatives who dip their toe into acting and directing, there’s almost no better man for the job than the legendary Clint Eastwood. From the Bradley Cooper-led American Sniper to the heartfelt performances between Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon in Invictus, the star-turned-filmmaker has certainly made a name for himself behind the camera. One standout in his catalog is 1986’s Heartbreak Ridge, a war drama that often flies under the radar compared to his more celebrated work.
While he’s great at giving visionary direction to some of Hollywood’s biggest names, there’s nothing like a Clint Eastwood-led movie directed by the man himself. From Gran Torino to Million Dollar Baby, the man has a knack for seamlessly moving from the director’s chair to under the bright lights. Almost two decades into his filmmaking career, Eastwood delivered Heartbreak Ridge, a film centered around the life of a hardened Marine nearing the end of his service.
Creative Liberties Were Taken

In the 1986 flick, Clint Eastwood stars as a U.S. Marine who is getting ready to celebrate his well-earned retirement. Before he can kick back, relax, and go fishing, the tough-as-nails Marine is handed a platoon of unruly recruits who he needs to get battle ready if they have any hopes of surviving the 1983 American invasion of Grenada. With a well-formed cast, Heartbreak Ridge also starred the likes of Academy Award-nominee Marsha Mason (Cinderella Liberty), Everett McGill (Quest for Fire, Dune), and Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City).
In the script’s original draft, the leading character was not meant to be a member of the Marines but was instead a soldier in the United States Army. Unfortunately, when Eastwood and the rest of his team approached the Army for their help and support in making the movie as real as possible, they turned the project down because the character was an alcoholic divorcee. Picking up the pieces and starting at square one, the film’s creatives moved on to the Marines, who, after some cajoling, agreed to help shape the leading characters.

With the Marines behind them, the crew was allowed to roll cameras in California’s Camp Pendleton, giving the training scenes a real-life edge. Unfortunately, when the final product came out, the branch of the U.S. armed forces was less than pleased with the way Clint Eastwood and the rest of the cast and crew behind Heartbreak Ridge depicted them. Essentially, they didn’t appreciate some of the creative liberties taken to make the film more dramatic and give the characters a fully fleshed-out story.
A Critical And Commercial Success
Although the film wasn’t a hit among the Marines, audiences and critics enjoyed Clint Eastwood’s latest action-centered war epic, raking in a whopping $121.7 million at the worldwide box office against its $15 million production budget. An industry standout, the title would also nab a nomination for Best Sound at that year’s Academy Awards.

Heartbreak Ridge landed in theaters in 1986, the tail end of a decade that would be rounded out by the director’s Charlie “Bird” Parker biopic, Bird. Blasting off into the 1990s with guns blazing, Clint Eastwood continued his upward trajectory as a Hollywood star and filmmaker with The Rookie, Unforgiven, and The Bridges of Madison County, to name a few. As we know, Eastwood’s star has only continued to shine over the years, with his directorial credits well over 40.
Not Presently Streaming, But Available On Demand
As of late, things have been quiet for Clint Eastwood, as the last picture he starred in and directed was 2021’s neo-western drama, Cry Macho. Since then, the icon has released Juror No. 2, which was widely reported to be his final film. With almost seven decades in the industry, Eastwood has become a household name, either starring in or backing a project in every genre, with a movie out there for everyone. The recipient of 11 Academy Awards, it’s clear that the star’s impact on the world of film has been noticed by his peers and fans alike.

As for Heartbreak Ridge, the film isn’t currently on a major streaming platform, but it is available on-demand if you’re looking to check it out. You can rent or purchase it through platforms like YouTube, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango at Home to see why it remains one of Clint Eastwood’s most notorious war-centered features.

Prince William Faces Heat About Video Game Habit Claim
Prince William is catching heat after a clip reignited questions about how he spends his time as a senior royal.
In the video, journalist Chris Ship claims the Prince of Wales earns roughly £22 million annually to represent the U.K., but also “spends a lot of time” playing video games.
The claim didn’t sit well with everyone, with critics zeroing in on the reported figure while others leaned into the lighter side, speculating about what games the future king might be playing.
In the segment, Ship was asked whether William’s eldest son, Prince George, plays video games. While he admitted he wasn’t sure, the journalist pivoted to the Prince of Wales himself, claiming he has “been known to spend rather a lot of time” gaming.
Pressed further on what titles William might prefer, Ship said he didn’t have that level of insight, but speculated the royal could be into popular franchises like “Grand Theft Auto” or “FIFA.”
Another guest then chimed in to note that William has previously acknowledged George does play video games, though the family reportedly keeps a close eye on screen time and tries to limit how long he spends playing.
William Faces Backlash Over Gaming Claim

Social media users didn’t hold back after the clip circulated alongside claims that William earns £22 million a year to “represent” the U.K., with many questioning how that squares with having time to game.
“22m per year? For f-cking what?” one Reddit user wrote. Another added, “Doesn’t surprise me. Probably some violent game too, when he’s done with leaking, harassing his brother through the media, or shouting at staff/wife for the day, he needs something else where he can be aggressive and violent.”
Prince William And Kate Have ‘Very Strict’ Rules For Their Kids

William and Kate may be raising future royals, but that doesn’t mean their children are given free rein at home. The couple is known to enforce firm boundaries with their three kids, from travel protocols tied to royal succession to strict limits on screen time.
William has previously spoken about the importance of getting his children outdoors, making it clear that he and Kate prefer playtime outside over hours spent on video games.
In an October 2025 appearance on The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, the Prince of Wales offered a rare glimpse into their home life, revealing that their parenting style comes with clearly defined rules.
“Absolutely, yes, definitely,” William said when asked about family routines, stressing the importance of sitting down together for meals. “So, sit and chat is really important.”
Prince William Stressed The Importance Of Nature

Elsewhere in the conversation, William emphasized that family remains his top priority, describing it as “the most important thing” in his life. Speaking about raising grounded children in a digital age, the Prince of Wales explained that creating a stable and supportive environment early on is key.
“And everything is about the future,” he said, per ABC News. “If you don’t start the children off now with a happy, healthy, stable home, I feel you’re setting them up for a bit of a hard time and a fall.”
To that end, William shared that he and Kate intentionally steer their children toward outdoor activities rather than increased screen time.
Prince William And Kate Plotting Australia Trip

Meanwhile, William and Kate are reportedly eyeing a return to Australia, and plans are even said to be in motion for their first official visit to the country in over a decade. The reported tour comes on the heels of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent visit, with some insiders branding William and Kate’s potential trip a “revenge tour.”
According to a source cited by Sky News, the Prince and Princess of Wales are keen to deliver what’s being described as a full-scale royal experience.
“William and Kate both know that they need to give Australia a real ‘bells and whistles’ royal tour as soon as their schedule allows,” the insider said. “William and Kate know that the Australian public deserves better. It’s their job to make it happen.”
If it goes ahead, the visit would mark the couple’s first official tour Down Under since 2014, with reports suggesting their three children may join them.

Porsha Williams Speaks On Betraying Falynn Pina With Marriage To Simon Guobadia
Okay, so BOOM! Recently, Porsha Williams sat down with Carlos King on his podcast to talk about everything from ‘RHOA,’ her new relationship, and her previous marriage to Simon Guobadia. During their chat, Williams addressed her friendship with Falynn Pina and whether she took Simon from Falynn. Simon and Falynn were reportedly married for two years before they announced their divorce in 2021. That same year, Porsha and Simon announced their engagement, leaving fans to go wild with reactions and accusations about whether Porsha betrayed Falynn. Fans got a brief preview of Porsha and Falynn’s dynamic on season 13 of ‘RHOA,’ where a clip shows Porsha at Simon and Falynn’s home.
Now, Porsha is claiming that they were never really friends and said she actually didn’t know her. “I did not know her. I didn’t know anything.” She continued, “I know people at this point are going to believe what they’re going to believe.” Additionally, Williams claimed she has receipts of text messages that show producers gave her Falynn’s number before she even went to her home.
But even with that Porsha took accountability for how everything looked and admitted that she should’ve addressed the narrative when it unfolded. “I take full accountability for my part in the optics and I take full accountability for not speaking to the narrative once again. At that time, I just didn’t think it was my place.”
Falynn Calls Out Porsha & Threatens To Spill Tea
Falynn Pina peeped Porsha Williams’ interview and hopped on her Instagram Story to share her thoughts on Thursday, April 30. She dropped a message saying she was cool with never clearing the air about Porsha and Simon Guobadia, but now she wants everybody to take real accountability so they can finally put the whole story to bed. Her way of kicking that off? She says she ready to dust off her own receipts to share her side of what really went down.
“IKYFL!!!! See…I was ok with never speaking on this situation again, but as long as 265 is out here doing interviews taking “accountability” and acting as captain save a h*e with @thecarlosking_ !!!!!!! F*** it. Time to blow the dust of these receipts so that EVERYONE can take REAL ACCOUNTABILITY and this s**t can finally die.”

From Marital Bliss To Divorce: Porsha Shares Update On How She Feels About Simon Guobadia
Porsha and Simon’s marriage was a major talking point of ‘RHOA.’ Fans stayed wanting the tea about how their love story blossomed into marriage. Even though they started out in love, Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024, just 15 months after they tied the knot. From there, their divorce continued spilling all over social media as both of them continued to take shots at each other. Then in June 2025, a Georgia judge signed off on their divorce, officially finalizing their split. While speaking with Carlos, Porsha said she feels good since the breakup and is enjoying living in her truth as her real self.
“There are some parts of that relationship I have to admit that I was falling back into old patterns […] Way back to my first marriage. Giving up who I was to a certain extent… The box that I was being put in just wasn’t what was best for me.”

Robby Hoffman Reveals Her Own 10/10 Invention That Her ‘Hacks’ Character Would Make
Summary
- Hacks‘ Season 5 is sending the Emmy-winning comedy off on a hilarious high note.
- Robby Hoffman reveals just how much she is like her scene-stealing character, Randi.
- Hoffman calls PBS’ Odd Squad her “film school,” where she learned everything about writing and how a set works.
Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Hacks Season 5, Episode 4
HBO’s brilliant comedy series Hacks, which is in its fifth and final season, is going out on a hilarious high note. As they near the big MSG show, Deborah (Jean Smart) and Ava’s (Hannah Einbinder) lives are more chaotic and unpredictable as ever. Deborah has an unexpected romance with pop star Nico Hayes (Christopher Briney), Ava is recovering from her stint dating a magician and processing conflicting notes on her pilot script from a producer, and Marcus (Carl Clemons-Hopkins) is excited about his big business venture with Deborah, to name just a few of the many intriguing threads being pulled this season.
As we near the halfway point of the final season, the comedy, created by Jen Statsky, Lucia Aniello, and Paul W. Downs, impressively continues to be just as funny and bold as it was in Season 1. Hacks continues to evolve, with one of the best changes being the Season 4 addition of Robby Hoffman‘s Randi, Jimmy (Downs), and Kayla’s (Megan Stalter) quirky assistant. Though Randi might not be the most crucial element of Hacks‘ overarching plot, Randi continues to be one of the funniest parts of the series. Hoffman, who’s Emmy-nominated for her work on Hacks, plays the offbeat role with such conviction and confidence that it’s hard to picture the series without her.
During this interview with Collider, Robby Hoffman talks about the physical comedy in Episode 4, her own comedy, her unexpected early beginnings in Hollywood, and what she feels she shares with Randi. The delightfully unfiltered comedian is having a moment, and we’re all better off for it.
Before ‘Hacks,’ Robby Hoffman’s “Film School” Was Her Emmy-Winning Work on PBS
“PBS is like HBO, but without money.”
COLLIDER: I’m excited to talk to you.
ROBBY HOFFMAN: Same!
I’m a big fan of Hacks, I’ll get into that in a minute. A lot of people might not know this, but you have a lot of writing credits on some really cool kids’ programs. You have an Emmy!
ROBBY HOFFMAN: Thank you! Thank you.
It’s so impressive to me, and I feel like writing for a kids’ show must be such a different skill set. What has that taught you about yourself as a writer?
HOFFMAN: Some may not know, but I am an Emmy-winning writer and now an Emmy-nominated actor for Hacks. Writing on a kids show was never something I set out to do. It’s my first job for people who do the deep dive on Robby Hoffman. It’s my first television job. I grew up poor. I grew up without a hope, without a prayer. And when I got into school… first of all, not everybody in my family went to school. My mother told us often that school’s not for everyone, and she said that a lot because it was very expensive, so if you don’t have to do school, don’t do school. When I got into school, I did accounting because they told me that you can get a job right away, and so that’s what I studied. After that, as I got paid every two weeks, I started thinking about writing and different things that I’d never really thought of.
I got a writer’s assistant job on a kids’ show called Odd Squad on PBS. PBS is like HBO, but without money, so they do very good programming. But I was a writer’s assistant, and that was like my film school. I always saw rich kids. They studied things they wanted to do. I knew people who did art history. I knew people who did film. I knew people who went into programs. And to me, school was very practical, whether you were going to take a trade or if I was going to go to university for accounting or for something that you’ve got to learn, kind of a trade or profession. So even though it was kids and we were restricted in terms of language or sexual innuendo, it was still very good storytelling. And it was a volume business. We did 80, 11-minute episodes a season, and so I learned how to write story. Yes, there’s no this, there’s that, but it’s still beginning, middle, end. It’s still A, B story.
Einbinder breaks down filming in Singapore, Julianne Nicholson’s epic performance as Dance Mom, and teases her slasher with Gillian Anderson.
It was literally my film school because it started as a small show, and it got really big. I learned everything about set. I was on set. I was on splinter units. I worked with the art department. I worked with hair and makeup. I worked with costume. I worked in all of the different areas as I grew up in that show, starting as a writer’s assistant, then a staff writer, and then an Emmy-winning writer. And I consider Odd Squad really to be my film school, and so very grateful for that.
Of course, after Odd Squad, knowing my sensibilities a little bit more, I said, maybe it’s time we moved to “grown-up.” It’s kind of when you find out like Bob Saget, people know him from Full House, and then they still watch his stand-up and they have a rude awakening. People who know me from Odd Squad as a children’s writer, and then they go and watch Wake Up on Netflix might have that similar rude awakening. And I apologize. Should come with a warning. “Has worked in kids’ entertainment before, so brace yourselves.”
That’s such a fascinating story. I’m glad that was kind of like your film school. It must be really beneficial to write within those restrictions, too.
HOFFMAN: I know the rules of writing. It’s kind of like when you watch a series like Atlanta and people go, well, he broke so many rules in this. Well, Donald Glover is so talented at writing, and he’s so talented at storytelling. He knows all the rules, and then you can break them. That’s what Odd Squad taught. I know the structure. Kids need structure. I know all the rules. Now in my own writing, it’s informed. I’m aware of what I’m doing whenever I’m going off the edges or outside of the lines.
Robby Hoffman Has a Genius Invention ‘Hacks’ Randi Would Approve Of
“If you become a millionaire from this idea, send me $88,000.”
I want to jump into Hacks. I love Randi, as many people do.
HOFFMAN: A little character that could.
I want to get to Episode 4 in particular, but what’s great is that your character has a solution for everything before the problem arises. There’s one episode where Randi invents a tray that warms drinks, and it’s just like a very quick throwaway line, but it was so smart. If there was a little gadget or something that you wish could solve a little daily annoyance you have, what would it be?
HOFFMAN: You know what it is? I don’t read a lot of physical books, but this is something I invented, and it probably exists, maybe now. Or if you have the wherewithal to put this together and get it on Shark Tank and figure it out, you can keep the money. Send me $88,000, okay? That’s all I ask. If you become a millionaire from this idea, send me $88,000.
You got it.
HOFFMAN: I love when I’m reading an article — maybe this will come out as an article — and maybe you’ll use a word that is a little outside of my vocabulary. I could hit that, look up the word, and expand my vocabulary by that one word. When I’m reading a physical book, I have to look it up on my phone or a dictionary, which my mother has sent me a physical dictionary. I invented a bookmark that has a little screen, almost like a PDF reader screen. You can put it on any word as you’re reading a physical paper book for as long as they still last. So maybe this product only lasts for another couple years. And it displays the meaning of the word for you, but it’s thin enough as a bookmark.
That’s pretty genius.
HOFFMAN: Right? And it’s a cute little thing. You put it at the end of Barnes & Noble, you know, the cash register, you just hang it there, right? It’s one of those last-minute grabs. I mean, it’s $9.99, which is a lot for a bookmark, but for a bookmark uploaded with a dictionary, it could be good. I’m Randi-like in that I have very particular ideas for particular uses.
Robby Hoffman Reveals That Her ‘Hacks’ Character Randi Was Written for Her
“I guess I inadvertently do physical comedy, but it’s not a conscious thing.”
One of my favorite episodes is Episode 4 of the season. Anna Konkle was such a fun cameo, and there’s a lot of physical comedy. I’m just curious, do you embrace physical comedy a lot? What was it like filming those scenes with Anna?
HOFFMAN: She was so funny. Anna was so funny. I thought she was the funniest one-off character that I got to work with, with Randi. She was an incredible talent, and all of her takes were great, and her looks. The physical comedy… I think I’ve always been a big talker in terms of talking with my hands. I talk with my whole body. So I guess I inadvertently do physical comedy, but it’s not a conscious thing. If there’s a stage, and you’ll see this in my stand-up, Wake Up on Netflix, I move, I take up whatever room is there. You know, if I have to sit in the chair, I’m sitting in the chair, but look how much out of the chair I already am, right? If there’s a stage, I’m curious, what’s that corner? What’s it like over here? [Laughs] I do end up having more physicality than I think I consciously realize.
And it works well for Randi.
HOFFMAN: Oh, good!
She was such a fun, eccentric character. How much of it is off the cuff, and how much is it on the page that you just bring to life?
HOFFMAN: You know what? It’s funny because Season 4 was a lot more off the cuff. They wrote the character for me, yet I still had to audition, which is fair. They’re like, well, we do know Robby… can she do it? [Laughs] You know, there’s no trust yet. Of course, we nailed it, thank God, and I remember that the few scenes that I had in Season 4, a lot of it was more off the cuff, but then they really knew how to write for Randi by Season 5. So a lot of it isn’t off the cuff. A lot of it I was reading, I was like, “Randi would say that,” or “This is how she would say it.” Still, a bunch is off the cuff. It’s a little bit of both, you know, certainly. Randi is very type A and goes a hundred percent into everything and is encyclopedic in ways that Robby isn’t. That writing is very helpful. And the ways that she’s like Robby, maybe she doesn’t say the right thing, or she’s a little rough around the edges, then maybe Robby comes out in those ways, so it’s a really fun mix.
It’s been a pleasure to talk to you, and I’m just excited to see the rest of Hacks and congrats on everything.
HOFFMAN: Thank you so much. Great interview.
New episodes of Hacks Season 5 air Thursdays on HBO Max.

Larsa Pippen & Jeff Coby Split Amid ‘RHOM’ Pause
“The Real Housewives of Miami“ star Larsa Pippen began dating professional basketball player Jeff Coby in the early months of 2025. Now, more than a year later, the two have reportedly called it quits. This comes mere weeks after it was reported that Bravo had put “RHOM” on pause.
Prior to dating Coby, Pippen had been romantically involved with Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan, from September 2022 until July 2024.

Sources close to Pippen and Coby confirmed the split to TMZ. Notably, the report states that the breakup occurred sometime in March. Regarding the reasoning, insiders revealed that the relationship had simply fizzled out and hadn’t moved forward as either party had hoped.
As for where Pippen and Coby stand today, the source claims they have no ongoing connection and that they are not speaking to one another.
TMZ reports that the two met at a party in January 2025 and began dating shortly after.
Larsa Pippen Made Several Appearances With Jeff Coby

According to PEOPLE, Pippen made her red carpet debut with Coby in April 2025. This came when they attended the premiere for “The Accountant 2.” Later, in May 2025, TMZ interviewed the couple while they were out in public.
Coby said to the reporter, “We’re getting married 2025-6. We’re getting married. It’s gonna be a beautiful marriage. November 2025.” Pippen’s reaction made it clear that Coby was joking, but he continued, “I can’t tell you when I’m gonna propose.”
The 32-year-old also appeared on season seven of “The Real Housewives of Miami,” notably during the reunion.
‘RHOM’ Fans Have Theories About The Breakup

Fans of “The Real Housewives of Miami” have a love/hate relationship with Pippen. Because of this, some feel bad for her that she’s going through another breakup. However, other viewers have a different take, with some claiming she needs time to be single.
One person said on X, “Either she needs to stop dating younger, or she needs to not expect so much from a person who’s younger than her and doesn’t want the same thing she wants.”
A different fan wrote, “Larsa moves way too fast. It seems she wants to marry everyone she dates.” After that, someone else noted, “How many contract relationships is she going to get in?”
However, someone else had a theory about Coby, writing, “Aka he thought he was gonna have a moment on a reality TV show….lord knows he’s never had a moment on the court.”
Lastly, someone else reacted to the breakup by saying, “And water is wet.”
Jeff Coby Defended His Relationship With Larsa Pippen In Early 2026

Rumors began circulating in January 2026 that Pippen had entered into a relationship with basketball player LiAngelo Ball. However, she shut down the rumblings on social media, calling them “fake news.” Later, TMZ interviewed Coby, and he also doubled down on their relationship.
He told the outlet, “Me and Larsa have a very secure relationship, and one thing about it is the communication and making sure we communicate at a very high and effective level.”
Coby continued, “We have to deal with a bunch of people trying to use other people’s names for clicks and photoshopping stuff — honestly, it’s wack! That part is wack! Get a grip!”
The basketball player then chalked the rumors up to them having “haters.” According to him, “When people see that we’re in a happy, fulfilling relationship, it’s only a matter of time until the haters try and stir the pot.”
He also shared several positive comments about the “RHOM” star during the interview.
Larsa Has Reacted To ‘RHOM’ Being Paused

Variety reported in mid-March 2026 that Bravo had decided to pause “The Real Housewives of Miami” following its seventh season. Per the report, this came due to low viewership as it was the least watched of all the “Housewives” series.
Several weeks later, in April, Pippen reacted during a “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast appearance. She said, “I thought we had a really good season last year. I felt like there was so much going on in our lives. We had a great season. We were getting reviews that everything was great on our show. And then I don’t know what happened. I’m not sure, to be honest with you.”
Despite “RHOM” being paused, it’s still available to stream on Peacock.

Keith Urban ‘Stung’ By His Daughter’s Unexpected Move
Keith Urban was reportedly left “stunned” by his daughter Sunday Rose‘s Instagram jab after she unfollowed him on the social media platform.
Rose, whom the country singer shares with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, has solidly backed her famous mother since her parents’ split, with the latest move making it clear whose side she’s on.
Keith Urban previously spoke about raising his daughters, saying he had to “break the chain” so as to ensure they didn’t grow up in the same kind of environment he grew up in.

Urban made headlines this week after his daughter, Sunday Rose, made a pointed statement by publicly unfollowing him on Instagram.
Although she later followed him again, reports suggest the move “stung” the country star as it wasn’t done by accident, but rather shows where things are between father and daughter following his split from their mom.
According to a new report, the move left the “Somebody Like You” singer unsettled and stunned, adding that he’s aware of what is going on and knows it’s more than just social media.
“Sunday knew exactly what she was doing,” an insider said. “It was a pointed move, and Keith got the message loud and clear.”
Inside Nicole Kidman And Keith Urban’s Shocking Split

Alongside Rose, Urban also shares daughter Faith Margaret with his now-estranged wife Kidman.
The pair got married in June 2005 and were together for 20 years until the “Practical Magic” actress filed for divorce in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences.
At the time, multiple sources told TMZ that people within Kidman’s circle believed Urban had immediately gotten with another woman after the actress filed for divorce. One insider even said that rumors of his fling were “all over Nashville” at the time.
“All the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” sources close to the “Big Little Lies” star told the news outlet. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”
Reports suggested then that they’d been living separately before the split; however, it was never confirmed whether or not he cheated on her.
The Actress Had To Step In To Quell Her Daughter’s Anger Toward The Singer

Since her parents’ separation, Rose has solidly taken sides with her mom and recently praised her as a “key part of everything” she does, while pointedly refusing to mention or acknowledge Urban.
However, the “Scarpetta” actress had to step in to make sure Rose’s social media antics don’t turn into a full-blown family drama.
“Nicole was the one who told her to take the high road and cut it out,” an insider told Rob Shuter. “She understood why Sunday was upset, but she also knew making it public would only make things worse.”
“The girls have a lot of love for their dad, but there is hurt, too,” the source added. “Sunday has been especially vocal about it.”
Urban, who still follows Rose and Kidman, is understandably “hurt” by the incident.
“Keith is hurt,” a source said. “He knows this wasn’t just about Instagram. It was personal.”
Keith Urban Is ‘Really Distraught’ About The State Of His Relationship With His Daughters

Even if Urban is still holding onto hopes that things would at least remain cordial between him and his daughters, sources say they’ve “cut off” the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer and blame him for “every problem” they’ve experienced in recent months.
“[The girls] are completely team Nicole and, right now, Keith is the bad guy. He is the cause of every problem in their minds, and it’s harrowing for him,” the source told Daily Mail.
“He’s really distraught about it. He loves those girls, but they are so angry at him, and they’re blaming him,” the insider continued. “I don’t even think this is Nicole painting a narrative; this is the girls coming to this conclusion on their own.”
Nicole Kidman Shares The Powerful Advice She Gave Her And Keith Urban’s Daughters

Rose’s Instagram move against her dad, Urban, comes just a few weeks after Kidman revealed the powerful advice she gave her daughters about their future during a speaking engagement at the University of San Francisco for the college’s Silk Speaker Series.
“I told them that the decisions you’re making now will affect your life, but also things will change as nothing is set in stone,” she said, per Sky News. “And primarily trying to create emotional stability is important for them so that they can feel like the world is their oyster.”
The actress added, “I told them you’re going to have an incredible future, but it can be incredibly overwhelming.”

HBO Max’s 10-Part Supernatural Crime Series Is Taking Over Streaming Worldwide
After years of delivering unbeatable scares — beginning with his 1974 bestseller Carrie, which has been adapted multiple times, including Mike Flanagan’s upcoming miniseries — Stephen King earned the well-deserved title “King of Horror.” Among his acclaimed works is a standout thriller published in 2018, which was adapted into a near-perfect series starring a House of the Dragon and MobLand star two years later. Widely regarded as one of King’s creepiest adaptations, the show is now staging a surprise resurgence on a global scale.
Having aired on HBO for only ten episodes from January 12 to March 8, 2020, The Outsider is set in a small town in rural Georgia and begins with the discovery of the horribly mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson (Duncan E. Clark). In Collider’s review, Tom Reimann describes the horror miniseries as “one creepy-as-hell detective story that’s equal parts True Detective and Dracula,” that’s darkly entertaining, strengthened by strong performances from Jason Bateman, Ben Mendelsohn, Mare Winningham, and Cynthia Erivo, who portrays Holly Gibney from King’s Mr. Mercedes.
Six years after its impressive run, The Outsider is surging on streaming charts globally. On April 8, 2026, the Emmy-nominated crime drama ranked as the ninth most-watched show on HBO Max, with subscribers in Mexico, Nicaragua, Argentina, and Peru, among others, contributing to its success. In addition to the previously mentioned stars, Bill Camp, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson, Yul Vazquez, and Marc Menchaca also appear in the series. And for his role as the accused Little League coach Terry Maitland in Frankie’s murder case, Bateman earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Currently, the show is sitting comfortably at HBO Max’s #11 spot worldwide.
Another Creepy Stephen King Adaptation Is on the Way
Flanagan’s Carrie is easily among the most anticipated King adaptations in the works, and, as expected, fans anticipate the brilliant filmmaker delivering nothing short of perfection. Starring Summer H. Howell in the titular role, the upcoming Carrie comes after three film adaptations released in 1976, 2002, and 2013, as well as a musical adaptation that premiered in 1988. As confirmed by series star Katee Sackhoff at a Fan Expo Vancouver panel on February 14, 2026, Carrie is expected to premiere in October 2026. Also starring in the supernatural horror are Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette, Matthew Lillard, and Samantha Sloyan.
You can watch The Outsider on HBO Max.
