Sure, we all know what wardrobe essentials for work professional women are supposed to have in their closets, but if you’re buying one for the first time or replacing one you’ve worn into the ground, it can be a pain to find exactly the right incarnation in stores. In “The Hunt,” we search the stores for a basic item that every woman should have. If you’re looking for business casual sneakers for women that are actually office-appropriate, these are our top picks for 2026.
Here’s a timely question, readers: Which are the best sneakers for work outfits? When are “sneakers for work” appropriate in your offices? How are you wearing sneakers with your work outfits?
{related: The Ultimate Guide to Business Casual for Women}
What Counts as Business Casual Sneakers for Women?
Here at Corporette, we’ve always taken the position that sneakers are fine — for your commute. I certainly wore my Chucks with suits on a lot of commutes, and kind of thought it was a cute look… again, for my commute. This has changed significantly in recent years, and continues to evolve.
For 2026, business casual sneakers continue to be a thing — but they do skew more casual than polished flats like these or loafers like these.
In fact, we recently rounded up comfortable non-sneaker shoes that readers have said they’ve worn to conferences and other events where they know they’ll be on their feet for hours.
Here are the things I think you should look for in work sneakers:
- They don’t look like they were run over in the street.
- They’re not super chunky/athletic.
- Look for a design that is just a BIT more than your basic white sneaker — interesting stitching, a contrasting detail
As always, the most important part of knowing which sneaker to wear to work is knowing your office. Our advice here is the same as it always is: Look to the mid-levels above you for fashion inspiration, not the CEO, partners, or other C-suite people — they’ve earned the right to wear whatever they want.
For example, in a recent conversation, some readers noted that Golden Gooses were great for their office, but others noted that a “distressed” shoe, no matter how expensive, just wasn’t appropriate for their offices.
Another important thing to note: When you wear sneakers to work may be highly dependent on what kind of day you’re having, who you’re meeting with, and more. You may want to keep a pair of neutral flats or heels in your office just in case — here are some of our latest roundups of comfortable work heels, as well as the most comfortable flats for work.
(Another note: If your bosses are “non-fashion people” and tend to be a bit curmudgeonly, tread really carefully before wearing sneakers to work.)
What are business casual sneakers (executive summary)
- They don’t look like they were run over in the street or like you wore them gardening
- They’re not super chunky/athletic.
- Look for a design that is just a BIT more than your basic white sneaker — interesting stitching, a contrasting detail
When can you wear sneakers with business casual outfits?
- When in doubt, stay on the more conservative side of things with loafers, heels, or other regular office shoes. This is a great example of why you should keep shoes at the office so you can change out of sneakers if you get called into a bigger meeting.
- Know your office! Some clues that you can wear them to work: men wear sneakers to work frequently, and you’ve seen several women mid-levels wear sneakers and continue wearing them all day (i.e., not just for commuting)
A Note on Comfort and Business Casual Sneakers
The primary reason one would wear business casual sneakers, obviously, is for comfort — so it’s interesting to note that a lot of readers add insoles to their sneakers.
The best insoles for women’s dress shoes include reader favorites from Vionic, Superfeet, and Pedag — and Kat loves her Aetrex.
The Best Business Casual Sneakers to Wear to Work in 2026
Without further ado, here are our favorite sneakers to wear to work in 2026!
Best Overall Business Casual Sneakers for Women

Adidas Samba
We’re picturing Adidas Samba, but Adidas Tokyo is another rising star here, and either are a safe bet if you can wear sneakers to your office. There are a number of muted, tonal shades out right now (a lot of white with brown stripes) and it’s easy to see a lot of them as being workhorses for business casual outfits.
Last year’s pick from Cole Haan is still available, but in much reduced colors, and I think the sleeker, lower profile to Adidas is the better pick if you’re buying something new.
Other extremely low profile sneakers that are similar include options from Gola, as well as Vince and Rag & Bone. Some of the less-distressed versions of Golden Goose would also work. (Readers have called Golden Goose “insanely comfortable,” so it’s nice to see that there are less-distressed versions available.) “Ballet sneakers” are another form of trendy low profile sneakers; check Everlane or Rag & Bone, or some of the trendy mary-jane style sneakers at Nordstrom.
The Best Comfort Sneakers for the Office

Vionic Winney
There are, of course, a ton of options for the most comfortable sneaker, but I like the vintage vibe to these ones from Dr. Scholl’s.
It’s worth noting that the shoes are hugely popular with the brand — they have Time Off slip ons, sandals, high tops, wedges, and even men’s versions. Personally I like this gray colorway, but there are a lot of stark white ones as well.
If you have foot issues, this is definitely one of the top brands to check out. They’re available in half sizes 6-11 for $70-$100.
Other great comfort options: like our 2025 pick (Dr. Scholl’s) or our 2024 pick (Vionic) are still available. Insoles are another great way to make sneakers more comfortable, whether you have specific orthotics or storebought insoles such as Vionic. Readers have also sung the praises of Kizik shoes, Birkenstock sneakers, and these Paul Green shoes are bestsellers at Bloomingdale’s (Nordstrom also has some colors).
The Best Sneakers for Lousy Weather On Your Commute

Blondo Carmen
Blondo specializes in water-repellent shoes , and their sneakers are really cute. This year I’m liking the Carmen, pictured, which has a nice low profile and looks like it will still look fresh after you’ve been caught in a drizzle.
A few other options for waterproof business casual sneakers: Vessi and Allbirds both specialize in waterproof sneakers. (Allbirds was just sold, though.)
The Best Pricey Sneaker for Work ($$$)

Veronica Beard Riviera
There are a lot of middle options that aren’t quite designer but are still a bit of an investment. This year I’m really liking Veronica Beard’s Riviera sneaker. As with the brand’s sleek clothes, the shoes are simple yet elevated.
We still like last year’s pick from Vince, and it’s still available in a lot of colors. Other option in this middle price range from other brands include Tory Burch, P448, Common Projects, and Rag & Bone.
The Best Fancy Sneaker for Work ($$$$)

Loewe Flow Runner Sneakers
There are a lot of options for Very Fancy sneakers if you’re looking to spend a lot of money — Golden Goose, Gucci, Chloé, Maison Margiela, and more. For my $.02, my vote goes to the Loewe ballet runners (which are reportedly a lot more comfortable than our pick).
Yes, they’re much more athletic-looking than a lot of the other sneakers we’ve featured… but the distinctive cursive L, the colorblocking, the leather and rubber details — all of this adds up to a *chef’s kiss* beautiful sneaker.
The Best Classic Sneakers for Casual Offices

Superga Cotu
Like a lot of the “classic” sneakers, the Superga has been around for a loooong time. According to the Nordstrom product page:
“founder Walter Martiny designed the first Superga sneaker in Torino, Italy, in 1911. But it wasn’t until 1925 that he expanded his collection to include vulcanized-rubber soles, and in doing so created the now-iconic 2750 tennis shoe. The brand’s classic minimalist styles and new hits—beloved by Italians for weekends and getaways — now count fans all around the world.”
For some reason, I always associate Superga with Extremely Fashionable People (perhaps because I’ve always been a Converse girl myself). Any of the classic sneakers can work, though, especially if they’re part of your personality and you’re comfortable with theem.
These popular Vejas have a similar vibe. Another very classic look that’s very in right now: Adidas sneakers (both Samba and Gazelle).
The Best Athletic Sneakers for VERY Casual Offices

New Balance 327
Know your office very well before you try to wear an athletic-looking sneaker to work as part of your outfit. A lot of older people in the workforce will strongly associate this with movies like Working Girl, where the heroine commuted from Staten Island into the city wearing white sneakers with black hose.
THAT SAID, I’m seeing New Balance trainers everywhere (particularly this top-rated pair), so they deserve a mention.
There are a TON of different options in terms of colorways — for the office I’d keep it relatively neutral.
Business Casual Outfits with Sneakers: Inspiration
If you need outfit inspiration advice, we highly recommend watching the movie I Care A Lot (currently streaming on Netflix) — lots of colorful suits worn with sneakers.
Rising Trends in Business Casual Sneakers For Women
As of 2026, the sneaker trend is starting to wane. Trends I’ve read about include Mary Jane sneakers, ballet sneakers, mesh sneakers, and more.
One of my favorite trends is matching colorful sneakers to colorful pants — I think you can also have fun with shades of the same color, or even contrasting colors. It’s a nice reprieve from the Dad sneaker trend, but it helps if you have a signature color or a capsule wardrobe.
How to Keep Your Sneakers Looking Clean
Whatever sneakers you’re wearing, we love this reader trick: Magic Erasers work great on cleaning dingier white soles and sometimes white leather also.
A lot of brands are also making washable sneakers (notably, Rothy’s and Allbirds) — and you can get a specialized bag for your washing machine so they don’t knock around.

Sneakers For Your Commute
In 2026, if you want to walk to work in sneakers and change into real shoes at the office, I’d be surprised if many people had problems with that. Know your office, of course. (Many years ago people even went so far as to change shoes a block away from the office!)
Sneaker Flats
There are some “sneaker flats” that blend in with regular pants or, from a distance, look like shoes. The goal here isn’t to be cute, it’s to be comfortable and pass for polished.
Sneaker flats can be great if you’re opposed to commuting in flip flops (I did it, but realize it wasn’t the most polished look). In 2025 definitely check out brands like Rothy’s, Birdies, and Skechers for comfortable, flexible, sneaker-like flats. If you just want all-black sneakers, check out AllBirds and Cariuma. Also check out our roundups of foldable flats and washable flats, as well as our recent roundup of extremely comfortable business casual shoes!

Note that if your trousers are hemmed to wear with heels, these shoes might not be the best because your hems might drag on the ground — you could either look for platform sneakers, or chunky-heeled comfort brands.
There are a ton of other brands out there that might be a bit too chunky for the office, but are great for running around town and staying comfortable. Some brands to consider: FLY London, Dansko, Eileen Fisher, Børn, and Miz Mooz.
What do you think, readers: Are you on Team Sneakers for Work, or on Team Please Wear Shoes? Where would you draw the line for which sneakers are acceptable for work and which aren’t? (For example, certain colors like white or black, only “well taken care of sneakers,” sneakers with a specific sole color (e.g., the way that historically, heels with a cork sole aren’t appropriate for work?)

How I Dress for Dinner on Vacation
Chan Luu Top, Marta Ferri Skirt (old, similar here, here & here), JB x Margaux Sandals, Sensi Studio Bag, Retrosuperfuture Sunglasses
Evening looks are the pieces I get most excited about when I’m packing for a warm-weather trip. Something shifts once the sun goes down. Vacation dressing gets to be a little more expressive, a little more vibrant, a little more fun. Sequins for sunset drinks, a flowy dress for a late dinner that has a way of turning into a longer night… almost nothing feels off-limits when it comes to dressing for evenings away from home.

The trick, for me, is starting with one piece that feels particularly special. Something with a little sparkle, a saturated color, or a more playful silhouette than I usually reach for. From there, the rest of the outfit falls into place around it. A skirt with shine works best paired with a clean top that lets it do the work. A dress with dramatic draping and a floral print wants modern, pared-back accessories. A sandal with a playful embellishment can be the whole story, peeking out from under a relaxed pant.
The result is dinner dressing that feels festive without trying too hard, and ready for the kind of night that keeps going.

Amazon Sundays: Resort Mood – Julia Berolzheimer
Amazon Bikini & Pareo, Call It By Your Name Tote & Pouch (customize yours here), Janessa Leone Hat
This week’s Amazon edit is full of resort pieces that bring vacation energy the second you put them on. I packed a few of these myself for our trip to Mexico, like this zigzag print bikini and pink printed pareo, a full poolside look for under $60. This 100% cotton pareo is one not to miss. It comes in so many cute prints, the quality is amazing, and it’s become an essential in my beach bag because I can style it so many different ways. Twist into a top and wear it with linen pants, tie it as a halter dress for lunch, or wrap it as a maxi skirt over a bikini. It works beyond the beach without taking up extra room in my suitcase.

It’s the accessories here that really bring a simple beach look to life. Whether it’s a beaded tote bag (I have this one and I love it), shell earrings, or a pair of pink jelly sandals, the finishing touch elevates without feeling overdone. For more resort inspiration, visit the JB Amazon Shop and Amazon Storefront, updated with seasonal new finds weekly.

Coco Jones in Ganni Zebra Print Cardigan and Matching Denim Shorts at Knicks ECF Game
Coco Jones arrived at the Knicks Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 to support the Cavs wearing a coordinated zebra print look by Ganni. The singer stepped out in a neutral-toned ensemble featuring a fitted animal motif cardigan paired with matching denim shorts, completing the courtside moment with long waves and minimal accessories.
The first piece in Coco’s look was a $325 Ganni Animal Motif Knitted Cardigan.

The long sleeve knit featured a cream base with brown and black zebra-inspired stripes throughout, finished with front buttons and subtle logo detailing. The fitted silhouette gave the casual courtside look a polished feel while keeping the statement print front and center.
She paired the cardigan with matching $327 Ganni Zebra Printed Denim Shorts.

The high-waisted shorts mirrored the cardigan’s animal motif pattern and added a coordinated finish to the outfit. The structured denim fabrication balanced the softness of the knit top, creating a matching set moment that blended sporty and fashion-forward elements for the playoff appearance.

Best Western Leather Jackets for Riding & Outdoor Activities
If you ride then you already know that what you wear out there really matters. It gets cold, the road gets rough and a regular jacket just does not do enough. You need something that actually protects you, feels comfortable to wear and still looks good. That is why leather jackets have always been the top choice for riders and outdoor use. They handle tough conditions and bad weather in a way most other materials just cannot.
What is really interesting now is how western style and biker designs have come together. You get jackets that look great and actually work in real life situations. Some are inspired by ranch life, others lean more toward motorcycle culture. But all of them give you that perfect mix of style and practicality.
What Makes a Good Riding and Outdoor Leather Jacket
Before jumping into the leather Jackets for Riding & Outdoor, I think it is really important to know what to actually look for. Not every leather jacket works for riding or outdoor use and knowing the difference saves you from making the wrong choice.
- Wind resistance is the first thing. When you are riding, air pressure increases fast and lighter fabrics fail quickly. Leather blocks wind naturally and because of that it has always been the go to material.
- Stitching is something most people never think about but it matters a lot. Good stitching keeps the jacket together when you are moving around. Bad stitching starts coming apart over time especially if you wear the jacket regularly.
- The lining inside plays a big role in comfort too. A soft viscose lining makes the jacket so much easier to wear for long hours. Without it leather can feel uncomfortable.
- And fit needs to be balanced. Too loose and it catches wind. Too tight and it becomes uncomfortable really fast. A proper fit helps both comfort and performance.
Top Western Leather Jackets for Riding & Outdoor Activities
Here are some of the leather Jackets for Riding & Outdoor built for real riding and outdoor use, not just for looks.
Rip Wheeler Suede Leather Jacket

This leather jacket for outdoor activities gives you that calm and grounded western look that Rip Wheeler is known for. Made from suede leather which feels softer compared to standard leather. The black color keeps it simple and easy to wear anywhere. Shirt style collar, button front closure and a soft viscose lining inside that makes it comfortable during longer wear. It is not overly polished which makes it perfect for light outdoor activities where comfort matters most.
Thomas Rainwater Leather Jacket

This jacket feels more structured and modern. Dark brown tone that fits really well into outdoor settings. The button down front and lapel collar give it a clean and put together look. The leather is durable and soft, so it creates a really nice balance between comfort and protection.
Men’s Burnished Western Motorcycle Zip Front Brown Leather Jacket

This Heavy Duty Biker Style Jacket is built for riding. The burnished leather gives it a slightly worn finish that adds so much character. The front zip closure secures the jacket firmly during rides. Chest pockets with stitched flaps, a stand collar and snap cuffs all add to the function and structure. The leather feels soft but strong which makes it a solid pick for heavier outdoor use.
John Dutton Raw Leather Jacket

This John Dutton jacket shows a more traditional western look and that’s why it is one of the most authentic pieces in this whole collection. It is made from genuine raw leather with an earthy brown tone that blends naturally into outdoor surroundings. The front zip keeps it simple and the suede finish adds warmth. Front pockets for daily use make it practical too.
Midnight Sleek Leather Moto Jacket

This one moves closer to modern biker jacket styling. Slim tailored fit that gives it a really sharp and clean look. A stand up collar with snap tab closure keeps it structured. Full front zipper, a vertical chest pocket and side hand pockets. The shoulder design allows better movement which genuinely helps during riding. A great pick for anyone who prefers a clean and fitted look over something bulkier.
Women’s Adeni Iridescent Leather Motorcycle Jacket

This jacket adds something really different with its shimmering silver finish. It gives it a modern feel while still keeping that biker structure intact. It also has a lapel style collar, zip cuffs and hand pockets. The leather is soft but durable which makes it comfortable for outdoor use. You can wear it in moderate weather as it is lighter than traditional heavy jackets so it works really well.
Ridley Adrian Dunbar Leather Jacket

This one is really simple and sometimes that is exactly what you need. This Full Grain Leather Apparel is made from genuine leather with a focus on clean design rather than heavy detailing. Shirt style collar and zip closure make it easy to wear. It feels balanced and flexible which makes it suitable for everyday outdoor use without leaning too much into any one style.
Women’s Racing Maroon Genuine Leather Jacket

This rider jacket has a really fresh and sporty energy. The maroon color is such a nice change from the usual brown and black tones. The design which is inspired by the racing gives it a fitted structure that works well for active outdoor use. If you want something a little more energetic and different then this is for you.
Women’s Kimberly Shearling Leather Jacket

This one is all about warmth. The shearling lining inside makes it perfect for colder weather and winter rides. The tan color keeps it connected to that western style while the thicker build provides real insulation. If you ride in cold conditions or spend long hours outdoors in winter this is the jacket you want.
Yellowstone Beth Dutton Black Biker Jacket

this western style biker jacket is very classy like Beth. Black leather gives it such a strong and confident appearance. Asymmetrical zip front, wide lapels and a quilted viscose lining is in it and that makes it more comfortable. The fitted shape keeps everything structured and put together.
Best Situations to Wear These Jackets
Different jackets work better in different situations and knowing which one to reach for makes a real difference.
For long rides go with thicker leather jackets that provide better wind protection. For casual outdoor use lighter jackets allow easier movement and feel more comfortable throughout the day. Cold weather calls for shearling lined options like the Kimberly jacket that retain warmth properly. For travel leather jackets are perfect because they are durable, easy to carry and handle changing weather really well. And for evening outdoor use almost any leather jacket works because as temperatures drop they provide just enough warmth without feeling heavy.
Conclusion
Leather jackets have held their place in riding and outdoor use for a reason. They handle wind, provide real comfort and last so much longer than most other materials. From western inspired pieces to biker style designs there is genuinely something here for every kind of rider and outdoor person. Some focus on comfort, others are built for stronger conditions. But all of them share that same quality of actually performing when you step outside and that is what really matters. Check out the amazing collection on The Western Outfitter.
