Barry followed in Dick’s footsteps as an actor, working with him on the show “Diagnosis Murder” after making his acting debut like his other siblings on “The Dick Van Dyke Show” in 1962. His younger sister, Stacy, also caught the acting bug.

After starring on their father’s shows, Stacy continued pursuing an acting career by joining the Barnstormers, a performing group at the Windmill Dinner Theater in Phoenix. Despite her passion for acting, she mostly avoided the spotlight.

Stacy chose not to pursue the level of fame Dick has, a sentiment her younger sister, Carrie Beth, echoed. After starring on her father’s show as a child, she mostly avoided the limelight. There’s not much information about Carrie Beth; however, she tied the knot to Kevin McNally in 1983.

Van Dyke explained that his union with Silver did not face the hardships many thought they would, given their massive age gap. He credited their lack of challenges to his mindset, explaining that he always felt young at heart.

“I’m infantile to start with. I think I’m about 13, so that’s been a problem, and she’s quite mature for her age, so I don’t think we haven’t had any problem with age at all,” Van Dyke shared. He credited Silver for his youthful spirit, raving about his luck in marrying the perfect partner.
