Every KKR bowler was taken to the cleaners by Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton of Mumbai Indians, who combined for an opening stand of 148 in just 11.1 overs.Vaibhav Arora was taken for 52 runs in his four overs, while Blessing Muzarabani leaked 34 runs in his three overs. Kartik Tyagi, the impact sub, returned figures of 4-0-43-1. But the biggest letdown for KKR were their spin twins — Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy — who proved ineffective on the Wankhede track, giving away 78 runs between them in seven overs.
Fans lashed back at Mark Martin after he congratulated Daniel Dye on securing a maiden NASCAR Cup Series opportunity despite the young driver’s recent suspension. Daniel Dye to make select NASCAR Cup Series starts in 2026
Daniel Dye is all set to make four NASCAR Cup Series appearances in 2026, with his debut coming this weekend at the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. He will driver the #78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports with a primary sponsorship from Champion Container, a company owned by his father.
The Deland, Florida native will next compete at Pocono Raceway (June 14), followed by Daytona International Speedway (August 29) and Talladega Superspeedway (October 25).

The NBA action in the postseason was scintillating on Sunday night with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs flexing championship-caliber potential against Portland.
While Wemby rests, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets duel in one of the more entertaining first-round matchups in the Western Conference playoffs.
Minnesota has listed Anthony Edwards was questionable, which seems to swing the pendulum in Denver’s favor.

Former Manchester United man Nicky Butt has delivered a scathing critique of Alejandro Garnacho, pointing to the behavioural concerns that marked his time at the club.

Since joining Chelsea from United last summer, Garnacho has struggled to make an impact. Unhappy at being left on the bench for the Europa League final loss to Tottenham, Garnacho criticised Amorim for the decision while also raising questions about his future at the club.
The shocking episode was the final straw in a long history of misconduct by the 21-year-old and his brother, with United appearing to have finally run out of patience.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe was over the moon and could hardly contain his joy when Chelsea lodged a £40m bid for Garnacho.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, United legend former academy manager and coach (coached reserves and briefly served as Ryan Giggs’ assistant), Nicky Butt, ripped into Garnacho’s attitude and shed some details on his experience with the player.

Butt said, “He signed at 16. I was academy manager at the time and he signed in a deal where they also signed Alvaro (Fernandez). Garnacho was always a bit stand-off-ish; he had a high opinion of himself. I thought he had an edge about him. And when he got into the first team – I will just say what I think because I was there – he got above his station way too quick. He got superstar status way too quick.”

“And that’s not a former player saying they get paid too much, I hope young players get paid millions, but he got superstar status too quick and he obviously scored the bicycle kick which was phenomenal.”
“Someone in that club or team at the time should have been swatting him down, and they might have been, and he ignored them. But the best thing Man United did was sell him because, forget his ability, and I don’t think he is that great anyway, but I thought his attitude was a disgrace when he was at Man United.”
Butt added, “More importantly when he left, and if you completely disrespect your teammates and the football club when you leave, then that’s it.”
“It is common knowledge that (Amorim) told him on the final game of the season that he can go find a new club. If he had been in our team then he would have been taken out every single day in training with the players we were brought up with.”

“I enjoy playing at the Crucible, you either love it or hate it and you can crumble, but I enjoy the atmosphere,” said Jones.

The Ottawa Senators are heading home down 2-0 after losing a dramatic double-overtime Game 2.
The goal came after Martinook nearly scored on a penalty shot as part of a wild chain of events in the first overtime period.
That sequence began when Hurricanes forward Mark Jankowski first appeared to score the overtime winner on a delayed penalty but the goal was overturned due to an offside review. Martinook was still awarded a penalty shot for the Senators’ delayed penalty, but Linus Ullmark made the save to keep the game alive.
After going down 2-0 in regulation, Drake Batherson and Dylan Cozens each scored for the Senators in the second period to even the game.

In the third period, the Senators doubled the Hurricanes in shots but they couldn’t finish the chances, forcing the game to overtime.
For the Hurricanes, Logan Stankoven opened the scoring with his second playoff goal in as many games. Sebastian Aho also scored for the home team.
The Senators and Hurricanes are off to Ottawa where they will meet again on Thursday for Game 3.
If you thought you’d seen everything in an NHL hockey game, think again.
In one of the most chaotic sequences you will ever see, the Ottawa Senators were able to survive to a second period of overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 on Monday.
With the Senators called for a delayed penalty, Hurricanes forward Mark Jankowski appeared to bury the overtime winner to give Carolina a 2-0 series lead.
But after a league-mandated review, the goal was waved off for offside.

The league determined that Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal had possession but not control of the puck when his skates went over the blue line on the initial entry to the zone, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Rule 83.1 of the NHL rulebook states in part: “A player controlling the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the puck shall not be considered ‘off-side,’ provided he had possession and control of the puck with his stick prior to both skates completely crossing the leading edge of the blue line.”
However, the absurdity of the sequence was far from over.
Because the Hurricanes scored with the Senators on a delayed penalty, Carolina was still in line to receive the penalty after the disallowed goal.

That call was made with reference to Rule 38.7 of the NHL rulebook, which states in part: “If one or more penalties (minor or major) are assessed between the time of the missed infraction and the video review that disallows the apparent goal, the offending team(s) (and responsible Player(s)) will still be required to serve the penalty(ies) identified and assessed, and the time of the penalty(ies) will be recorded as the time at which the play should have been stopped for the missed infraction.”
But this call wasn’t just a regular penalty, as the referees determined that Jordan Martinook had a clear scoring chance taken away and awarded the Hurricanes forward a penalty shot.
Senators goalie Linus Ullmark came up big and stopped Martinook, and after all was said and done, the game headed to another 20 minutes of overtime.
Martinook would get the last laugh, however, as he made up for his penalty shot miss in the second overtime by scoring the game-winner.

Luckily for both teams, there are two days off to recover before Game 3 in Ottawa on Thursday.
The NFL is tightening its prospects’ contact information list for this year’s NFL Draft after the prank call to Shedeur Sanders as he slid down the draft board last April.
As Sanders fell out of the first round, and even further after not being taken in the second or third rounds on Day 2 of the draft, he was prank called by Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, who wrote down Sanders’ phone number from his father’s open iPad while visiting home.
Now, the NFL is limiting the access of the prospects’ contact information to one person within each franchise, according to The Athletic.

“The relevant contact information will be provided by the league to a single point of contact at the club in football operations,” a league spokesman told the outlet. “This individual will be responsible for safeguarding the numbers.”
The moment involving Sanders ended up going viral, as he was live-streaming a draft party with his family and friends when he got the call from someone impersonating New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis before the No. 40 overall pick the team owned.
The Saints were among teams who were in the quarterback market heading into the draft, and they didn’t select one in the first round. Meanwhile, other quarterback-needy teams like the Tennessee Titans (Cam Ward, No. 1) and New York Giants (Jaxson Dart, No. 25) already settled the position on day one.
Instead of taking Sanders, the Saints settled on Louisville’s Tyler Shough in the second round. Sanders would have to wait until the fifth round to be taken by the Cleveland Browns, who also selected Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel in the third round the day prior.

Jeff Ulbrich later apologized for his son’s actions, where he also shouldered blame for the leaked phone number in the first place.
“My actions of not protecting confidential data were inexcusable,” Ulbrich said at a news conference at the Falcons’ facility. “My son’s actions were absolutely inexcusable, and for that we are both deeply sorry.”

Michael Carrick believed Kobbie Mainoo had his best game since his Man United appointment against Chelsea in the Premier League.
Kobbie Mainoo received a bear hug from Casemiro during the post-match celebrations at Stamford Bridge. Casemiro’s embrace was so enthusiastic that Mainoo was lifted off his feet.
Mainoo fist-pumped in front of Manchester United’s jubilant away section, and had a smile on his face until he disappeared down the tunnel. The youngster deserves praise for performing to such a high level against Chelsea after only returning to training two days before the game.

Speaking in his press conference, Carrick said: “I thought that was the best Kobbie has played, certainly since I’ve been back here. To step up and put so many phases to his game or sides to his game tonight.

“I thought he looked so composed, so calm, had a really good presence about him, defended well. Not easy when you’ve got really good players in and around you and it was a good battle between him and Cole Palmer.
“So we had to be right at it tonight, but Kobbie just showed so much quality and composure in a tough environment, really, in the end. He showed us what he can do.”

Mainoo recorded a 91 per cent pass accuracy against Chelsea, he touched the ball 70 times, won three tackles and made three interceptions. His defensive work was diligent and crucial in the second half.
In another world, Mainoo could have lined up for Chelsea against United last weekend, though. The London club expressed an interest in signing Mainoo at a time when he’d slipped down Ruben Amorim’s pecking order and was stuck at an impasse in negotiations over a new contract with his boyhood club.
Chelsea were actively monitoring the situation and would have pounced had the opportunity presented itself. Thankfully for United, Mainoo outlasted Amorim and should be at the heart of the club for the next 10 years.
When Mainoo conducted his first interview with external media in 2024, the press officer smiled as they said he would be a United mixed zone representative every four weeks for the next decade.

Mainoo’s future was thrown into doubt during Amorim’s tenure and the Portuguese’s view on the academy graduate is well documented, but that stance has looked worse after every round of fixtures since his exit.
The Stockport-born midfielder has been excellent for Carrick, who reinstated him to the starting XI as one of his first acts. “He changed some players,” said Bruno Fernandes recently when asked about Carrick’s impact.
Fernandes and Casemiro started together in Amorim’s two-man midfield, and the pair surely would have questioned the former United boss’s view of Mainoo, as they know what he can bring to the table.
The Manchester Evening News have been told that Mainoo “loves” to play with Casemiro, and the Brazilian said in a recent interview with club media: “Kobbie is the present and the future. I think that he is one of the best No.8s and can be for that for the next 12 years.”

Casemiro swept Mainoo off his feet after full-time against Chelsea because he knew how important he’d been in the victory. Everyone could see what United have with Mainoo, but somehow Amorim could not.
It’s possible that Amorim could still be in the United job had he started Mainoo in midfield in his system. Amorim believed Mainoo had deficiencies, particularly in the defensive side of his game, but he never gave him a proper run of games to prove himself in the deeper role in his formation.
Mainoo could have helped to improve results and alleviate pressure on Amorim. If that had happened, the chances of Amorim blowing up in the Elland Road press conference would have been greatly reduced.

The irony is that Amorim may still feel he was right about Mainoo. After all, Amorim was remarkably stubborn, and he could argue that taking Mainoo out of the team sharpened his mind and made him make improvements.
It is true that Mainoo evaluated every possible aspect of his lifestyle before the start of the season. He knew the challenge he faced to change Amorim’s opinion, and he pored over different aspects of his lifestyle, even changing his private chef at home.
Mainoo worked with a private coach throughout the international breaks in which he was snubbed by England, so Amorim may well argue that going through a difficult period was necessary for Mainoo’s next chapter.
“Some of you think that Kobbie Mainoo is already done [the finished article]. I think he can do so much better, he can improve in a lot,” said Amorim during a press conference in September.

“I think for some guys it is enough [their talent], but for him it is not enough. Maybe it’s not fair, but I think I’m helping Kobbie Mainoo, and that’s it. He will have opportunities like the other guys.”
He continued: “Sometimes, I look at Kobbie Mainoo and I feel that sometimes he was like – and I watched a lot of games from the Premier League when I was in Portugal – and you can feel that the Manchester United team was really transitional.
“He was the only guy who calmed down the game. Now we have other players who can calm down the game. We play a different game, and sometimes I expect more from Kobbie Mainoo.

“And I know that he can give that. So sometimes, like you said, maybe if I start more Kobbie Mainoo, then he is going to play and he’s going to get hard to take out. Sometimes it’s not fair, but I need to go with what I’m feeling in the moment, and that is the only feeling.”
Amorim’s feelings about Mainoo were wrong, yet it would not be a surprise to hear the 21-year-old admit later in his career that surviving that challenging period was an important part of his journey.
You will not hear Mainoo saying that anytime soon, however. Judging by Mainoo’s social media activity and a stunt from his half-brother, it was clear his relationship with Amorim had become fractured by the end of his tenure.
Mainoo was a starter for United and England. Amorim was appointed, and he became a bench warmer for his club, and a possible call-up to England Under-21s was touted. You cannot blame Mainoo for being frustrated.

Carrick has helped Mainoo get back on track, and the cherry on the cake would be an inclusion in England’s World Cup squad this summer. Mainoo’s performances have made him impossible for Thomas Tuchel to ignore.
United must build around the midfielder for the next 10 years. He is the future, as Casemiro said.
