The Young and the Restless: Phyllis & Victor Both Crash in Huge Twist!

Published

on

Young and the Restless: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) - Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

Young and the Restless gives Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) with a plan in mind and she’s set a trap for somebody. And my guess is that it is Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) because even if she goes down, I doubt that she’s going to go down alone.

So, we’re going to talk about how Phyllis and her chief enemy Victor might both end up in trouble with the law.

Phyllis Starting To See How Bad Her Legal Situation Is on Young and the Restless

So, right now, Phyllis is starting to see with a lot of clarity how bad her legal situation is. The faked AI evidence is either really thorough and convincing or Victor paid off some experts to say it’s legit. Seems like something he would do. So, it’s enough though to convince new DA Christine Romelotti (Lauralee Bell) to go full speed ahead with the criminal charges against Phyllis and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), which you know Christine is enjoying.

And when Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) suggested that Phyllis could cut a deal to give Newman back to Victor and escape criminal prosecution, well, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) wrote Phyllis a reality check. And he said even if Victor were to drop the charges, Christine would most likely still go after Phyllis. She could still prosecute. And I mean, let’s not forget she is guilty. But don’t forget, so is Victor in this storyline.

Victor Needs to Pay as Much as Phyllis Does

Both Phyllis and Victor are really the villains. So there is a chance Phyllis and Victor both may wind up in legal hot water. I mean honestly that would be pretty karmic because they’ve both been behaving terribly. Phyllis and Victor both use the AI to steal companies and Victor did Phyllis really dirty before that. So that’s why she’s turned around and flipped and done him dirty in return.

So, if Victor was also arrested and both he and Phyllis were facing criminal charges, that seems right. It seems like they’re facing consequences they deserve. Now, I doubt either of them would wind up in prison at all, or if they did, not for long. If Victor and Phyllis were both charged, they might get probation or they could be barred from running a corporation. But let’s face it, both Victor and Phyllis are way overdue for a good slap from karma.

The Evidence Against Phyllis Is All AI Generated on Y&R

Let’s talk about Victor in just a minute, but I want to start with Phyllis. So, the evidence against her is all AI generated. Plus, Christine absolutely hates Phyllis and won’t stop prosecuting her unless she gets 100% proof that the evidence against her is 100% fake. Up until that, full steam ahead. So, with all that stacked up against her, Phyllis seems to be in really hot water. And it’s hard to see a path forward for her. The problem is, not only does Victor want Newman back, but he also wants to punish both Phyllis and Cane for doing the exact same thing that he did. It’s hard to see how Phyllis can avoid legal consequences and a criminal conviction.

Now, as for Victor, Young and the Restless viewers really don’t want him to go unpunished for using this illegal AI to ruin two different companies. More than that, honestly, I think fans would just like to never hear the words AI again. So, even though Cane is a jerk, Victor’s track record of despicable deeds is much worse than Cane’s. So, they don’t appreciate him doing what he did to him.

Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is an awful murderous rapist human being that everybody hates and also fears. So, him losing his company isn’t something really anybody but him cares about. Regardless, Victor’s gotten away with too much for too long. Plus, he’s playing dirty and he’s acting like Phyllis is beneath him and that her actions are detestable.

Victor is Guilty Too on Young and the Restless

However, Victor did the exact same thing Phyllis did and he did it first. It’s just ridiculous how Victor can want to punish others for doing bad things, but then he does the exact same thing or worse, and he thinks the rules don’t apply to him. It’s gotten so old, and he needs to face consequences. Fans are on fire about Josh Griffith’s meh AI writing. And don’t forget, Cane’s got his lawyer, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), working on the case.

Amanda Might Be Able to Turn Up Evidence Against Victor

She might be able to turn up some damning evidence against Victor. Or could be Amanda has a backup of the Chancellor server since she was shutting down the AI after they took over all of Newman. If there is a Chancellor backup, it would show that the emails implicating Phyllis and Cane didn’t exist at the time they were supposedly sent.

Another thought is that Matt might have some evidence he can offer to Phyllis from when Victor cleaned him out and took all his stuff. Matt doesn’t have his memory at the moment. I’m expecting him to get it back soon and he may recall something that could help Phyllis.

And of course, Matt would love to have some other way to get revenge on Victor because he took everything from him and punishing Noah Newman‘s (Lucas Adams) granddad is always a bonus to Matt. Also, we’ve got Phyllis making a move by the end of this week and she’s setting a trap. Michael asked her if she’s ready to give back Newman later this week to try and stop all the madness.

But Phyllis says she has something else in mind. So, she might try and do what she asked Michael to do, but he refused. If you remember, Phyllis asked Michael to get Victor on tape confessing and admitting the evidence against Phyllis was fake. But Michael said Victor wouldn’t fall for it. However, you never know. His ego is so big that he might.

Young and the Restless: Phyllis Summers – Victor Newman

Phyllis Could Get Victor on Tape Confessing

Phyllis could show up with her phone already in her pocket or purse set to record. She could confront Victor and start a fight with him. And Phyllis could get Victor all riled up. And you never know, Phyllis might actually get Victor to say something incriminating like, “Yeah, the evidence is fake, but there’s nothing you can do about it. You’re going down.” Something like that.

And then Phyllis would have Victor exactly where she wants him. He’s been very careful when Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) or anybody else asks him if he faked the evidence. But if Phyllis goads him the right way and keeps poking, poking, poking, Victor might lose his patience with Phyllis. You know, his family never pushes after Victor lies and denies or says, “Don’t worry about it.”

Phyllis Tries to Trick Victor on Young and the Restless

You know how he does. But with Phyllis, she’s able to get all the way under Victor’s skin and she could provoke him into telling the truth if he gets really mad and starts ranting at her. I think it would be phenomenal if Phyllis could get the goods on Victor.

And if she threatens Victor once she has it and says she’ll give it to Christine, that might not stop things just like Michael said. Because even if Phyllis has him over a barrel, you know, if Victor can’t stop Christine from prosecuting Phyllis, she may go ahead and say fine and give this legitimate evidence to Christine to use against Victor.

Phyllis’s mindset might be, if I’m going down, then Victor’s going down with me no matter what. And so he might have to suck it up and even admit that it was all him that faked the evidence because otherwise Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) could be prosecuted for giving Christine knowingly false evidence.

And let’s be clear, Victoria knows it’s false even though she’s lying and denying. So, I think honestly it would be great if both Victor and Phyllis wound up facing consequences for their awful antics. We’ll see what happens.

But for me, with we’ve got like I don’t know six episodes, maybe seven left of May sweeps, I’d like to see this happen and both of them land in handcuffs. Phyllis already has, but Victor, he’s overdue for cuffs.

HBO’s Cancelled Sci-Fi Masterpiece Is Officially Getting a Movie Reboot, but That’s the Problem

Published

on

03143011_poster_w780-1.jpg

As science fiction gets closer and closer to science reality, the cancellation of HBO’s Westworld seems even more tragic. Debuting in 2016, the sci-fi masterpiece was a reimagining of Michael Crichton’s 1974 film about a Western theme park where the robotic hosts start to malfunction. Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the television series was much more ambitious than the film, tackling themes of AI and bodily autonomy.

Evan Rachel Wood stars as Dolores, a host in the park who embarks on a harrowing journey toward sentience. Westworld lasted for four seasons before getting cancelled and ultimately scrubbed from the platform entirely. Fans had always held out hope that Nolan and Joy would return to finish their series as initially envisioned, but now it seems less likely than ever before because of a new development.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. is rebooting the Westworld franchise yet again. The new film will not factor in the HBO series but instead reboot the original Crichton feature altogether. After four years of hoping for good news, this is the last thing fans wanted and may even hurt the franchise in the long run.

‘Westworld’ Is Too Big For a Feature Film

It was only a matter of time before Warner Bros. returned to Westworld, especially because of the themes that have become even more relevant with each passing day. Concerns over artificial intelligence are paramount in the series as they are in viewers’ day-to-day lives. All the more reason that any return to Westworld should solely take place on television.

Your answers point to the iconic sci-fi hero who shares your instincts, your values, and your particular way of facing the impossible.

Arrakis · Dune

Paul Atreides

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

USS Enterprise · Star Trek

Captain Kirk

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

The Rebellion · Star Wars

Princess Leia

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

The Nostromo · Alien

Ellen Ripley

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

The Wasteland · Mad Max

Max Rockatansky

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy didn’t even cover everything they planned on in four seasons. A single two-hour film has no chance of substantially addressing this material. Themes such as free will, identity, and sentience are concepts that need television to breathe. Just as Battlestar Galactica explored with the Cylons, Westworld also invested in character arcs with its robot characters.

Westworld does this through the character of Dolores, who, in Season 3, makes several copies of herself. Just as the copies in Battlestar Galactica are all different from each other, so too are the different Doloreses. The more these entities live apart and form different memories, the more they become different people. The complexity of these different identities and what it means to achieve humanity is what made Westworld a masterful series. There is an obvious way to course correct, but it is unlikely that HBO will take a chance on it.

‘Westworld’ Deserves a Return to TV

The best-case scenario for Westworld’s return would be to allow the fifth and final season of the series to come to fruition. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have pulled back on releasing any information about their planned ending, holding out hope that they could one day put it into place. With the duo committed to Prime Video’s Fallout, that hope keeps getting further away.

A television reboot could be the answer to vindicating the missing final season, while also further developing the stories at the heart of the show. Westworld was already topical when it first premiered, but it has become even more so in the past year. Artificial intelligence has developed at an alarming rate since the series was cancelled, and there is even more content to explore in that arena.

Westworld clearly should have been able to finish on its own terms, but the time for that has passed. The only responsible way to course correct is to bring the story back to television and put the Nolan-Joy partnership back in the driver’s seat. From music to dialogue and everything in between, Westworld had a clear vision and one that has had no equal since.

Summary

  • Collider’s Steven Weintraub talks with Lewis Pullman for Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures.
  • Pullman discusses co-starring opposite Sally Field and what he learned from her on set.
  • He also revisits Top Gun: Maverick‘s intense flight training, shares how his dad’s advice helped shape his career, and teases future projects, including Spaceballs 2 and Avengers: Doomsday.

In 2022, Top Gun: Maverick took flight with a roster of young talent, including Lewis Pullman, sending his career soaring. In addition to starring in hit Apple TV series, joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and continuing a legacy with his father, Bill Pullman, in the highly anticipated Spaceballs sequel, Pullman has recently marked off yet another moviemaking bucket list goal: working opposite two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field in Netflix’s upcoming drama Remarkably Bright Creatures.

The drama is an adaptation of Shelby Van Pelt’s debut New York Times bestselling novel that follows a widow, Tova (Field), who leads a solitary life working at and maintaining the local aquarium. When a wayward young man, Cameron (Pullman), comes to town looking for his father, their paths cross, and though they test one another, they also form an unlikely bond with each other and the aquarium’s giant Pacific octopus, Marcellus (Alfred Molina), leading to a mystery that will restore their sense of wonder in the world. Remarkably Bright Creatures is directed by Olivia Newman and also stars Colm Meaney, Joan Chen, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Kathy Baker, and Beth Grant.

In this interview with Collider’s Steven Weintraub, Pullman looks back on his career, from the most intimidating roles to everything he learned working opposite Field. He shares what it was like joining Top Gun: Maverick, discusses how his father has helped him navigate the industry, and gives new details on what’s coming up, including Spaceballs: The New One and how he’s feeling about Avengers: Doomsday. For all this and more, check out the full conversation in the video above, or in the transcript below.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Had Lewis Pullman Questioning Everything Before Takeoff

“We’d better buckle up here.”

COLLIDER: I’ve got a ton of questions for you, but I want to start with something called “Get to know Lewis Pullman.”

LEWIS PULLMAN: I love it.

What project scared you the most before saying yes?

PULLMAN: Great question. Well, I think Top Gun [Maverick]. The fear built for me. Once I realized what we were actually going to be doing and the reality of it sunk in, everything started to cave in, and I was like, “Am I actually capable of doing this?” All the flight training and everything was so intense, and the only question they asked was whether we were scared of flying or not. I had never flown like that, nor did I ever think I would be flying in an F-18 or an Extra EA-300, let alone just a Cessna, and so I said yes, and I think everyone else did, too. Then, very quickly, everyone was looking around like, “Oh my gosh. Okay. We’d better buckle up here.” So, there was some definite fear there in terms of actually being physically capable of doing it.

If we’re talking about a role, I think Bad Times at the El Royale was really terrifying for me because I loved the script so much, and I wanted to be a part of something like that so much, and I hadn’t been in a ring quite like that. It was a really multi-layered character, and I was green. So I really leaned on the glorious Drew Goddard and Jeff Bridges quite a bit. Luckily, I had the wind from their gusts in my sails.

top-gun-maverick-lewis-pullman Image via Paramount Pictures

The other thing is, you worked with so many talented performers that it’s one of those projects that you learn a lot while making it.

PULLMAN: Yes. Yes, exactly. I learned so much. That was an incredible school for me.

What’s something you are embarrassingly bad at?

PULLMAN: Sports of all kinds. [Laughs]

If you could swap lives with someone for a week, who would it be and why?

PULLMAN: Wow. Oh my gosh. Well, I was just mentioning a story about Zach Galifianakis, and so he’s fresh on my mind. I do think that he probably leads a very interesting life. I think that he lives out in North Carolina or South Carolina, and he has a farm. He kind of still is just one of the best actors/comedians, but has his own little universe. I’d like to see what’s going on there.

Lewis Pullman on the Low-Key Way His Dad Helped Shape His Career

“He’s always been very encouraging.”

What’s something people always get wrong about you?

PULLMAN: I guess maybe that people think that I grew up acting, and I definitely did not. I didn’t partake for real until after college. My dad didn’t really… He brought us to location a lot when he was shooting out of the country, and we would be there, but in terms of being on sets, that was something that was very new to me once I started.

Speaking of your dad, what was your dad’s reaction when you said to him, especially after college, “Hey, I’m thinking about acting?”

PULLMAN: He’s always been very encouraging. I think you hear a lot of stories of actors being like, “Stay away. Don’t do it.” I think he was of the mind that, like, “If it’s not for him, he’ll find out.” He’s like, “I can’t tell him whether he’s going to like it or not. I don’t know.” So, that was a pretty easy conversation. They’re a very creative family that I come from, and so, I think they would have been more taken aback if I were like, “I’m going to be a lawyer.” Maybe.

Did he give you any advice? Because he’s obviously a very talented actor.

PULLMAN: Yes. He gives me advice. He never is just like, “Here’s some advice for you.” Usually, I have to ask, and he’s very gracious with it. My advice I get from him often is through storytelling, through his own experiences. I’ll bring something up that I might be kind of turning around in my mind, and he usually has a good anecdote from his career that is very helpful.

What is it actually like for you nowadays, watching a movie or a TV show? Because now you know the inside of the machine. Can you watch something and enjoy it just as a fan, or do you sometimes find yourself analyzing the performance or analyzing the lens that they used, and it almost takes you out, and you have to re-submerge?

PULLMAN: Sally Field and I were just talking about this. She has more trouble. She’s always like, “How’s the magic trick done? How’s it done? How’s it done?” I can kind of lose myself a little bit still. Sometimes it’s definitely hard, and I don’t like when that part of my brain comes on. If that part of my brain turns on, I’ll be like, “I’ll watch it again.” I’ll let myself just think whatever thoughts I have on the first round, and then the next one, I’m like, “Lose yourself.” Or vice versa. I’ll be like, “Let’s just experience this,” and then I’ll watch it again, and I can be all technical if I want. But I think that you know it’s a good movie when you don’t go into the technical brain.

Lewis Pullman on Joining His Upcoming Sci-Fi Thriller

The Spacesuit is directed by Kitty Green and stars Pullman and Vanessa Kirby.

It recently came out that you and Vanessa Kirby are going to act outside of Marvel for Kitty Green’s The Spacesuit. What was it about that project that said, “Oh, yes?”

PULLMAN: Well, Kitty’s an amazing filmmaker. She did this movie, The Assistant, with Julia Garner, that was just spectacular. It’s a really tough subject to tackle, and she did it in a very grounded, kind of Surveillance-esque, patient, breath-filled style. And this script that she wrote is pretty wild. I think that she is a very capable director to take on something that… I love a pitch that’s like, “How?” or “Why?” and then make it work, and make it grounded. I think she is like way overqualified. So, to get the chance to work with her.

Then Vanessa, I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a long time. That’s one that I think I would be scared to do when the time comes, when we buckle up to get prepped for it. I’ll be feeling fearful, which is a good sign.

For sure. Early in your career, you did a pilot for Highston, and in the pilot, which I watched last night, you climb on Shaq [O’Neal]’s back. You also do all these scenes with Flea? What the hell was that so early in your career, and getting to climb on Shaq’s back?

PULLMAN: That was surreal. I look back on that, and if I were to watch it now, I don’t know. I didn’t know what I was doing at all. I had just come from doing theater in North Carolina in a theater that was more of an auditorium, sort of built for PowerPoint, so you have to project way beyond what is natural and be way bigger than what is natural. I remember doing that, and my dad helping me run some of those scenes, and he helped me a lot to kind of shrink my mode of expression down in a way that would work on film.

But that was a crazy experience. It, in some ways, was kind of the perfect thing to be launched into the film industry with. It’s a kid who has imaginary friends who are celebrities, and you have to basically just let your imagination take hold. It’s very kind of Harvey-esque. I think that was a big influence for Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who made it.

Shaq was amazing. He was so nice. I had a little sister in that, and I remember he just has such a soft spot. Like, he bought her a tricycle, and I think that he just wants to make sure that if you’re a kid and you’re acting, you’re here to have fun. It’s still your childhood. I don’t know, I just remember Shaq being very gracious, and Flea just having some insane philosophical wisdom that I still am digesting to this day.

What Makes Sally Field an Unmatched Scene Partner

“She cares more than most.”

Jumping into why I get to talk to you. What is it actually like having Sally Field as a scene partner? I’m a huge fan of hers, just like you are, but what is it like having her as a scene partner, and what surprised you about it?

PULLMAN: I think what surprised me about having Sally as a scene partner was, despite that she’s just about 80…

Which I can’t believe.

PULLMAN: Which I cannot believe. I can’t believe. She just said that in an interview, and I was looking at her, and I was like, “Besides some gray hairs, I cannot, I would not…” She is more energetic, has more gumption and perseverance, and grit than most. I think that really surprised me that despite her incredible career and her insane batting average as an actor, she cares more than most, and had a huge bible that she carried around with her — not an actual bible, but like the script was filled with notes, because it’s a mystery in many ways. Remarkably Bright Creatures has a lot of mystery, and so that requires some definite technical thread-weaving and making sure that everything connects and there are no threads left untethered.

There were so many scenes where she was like, “Wait a second, if we’re doing this here, then that doesn’t connect here. We haven’t shot this yet. We’ve got to make sure that if we do this here, then we have to do that there. Are we going to do that there?” All these times when we were all like, “Oh, thank goodness Sally was on top of it.” Just the meticulous kind of attitude that she has in the process, and then when she actually, between action and cut, is so free and is just blowing in the wind in this beautiful way. I think also she’s very open to if something feels right when you’re prepping for it, and then all of a sudden on the day something’s bumping you, she’s like, “It’s a disservice to not speak up about that.” So, getting on that same page with her was really fun to be able to operate at that level with her.

You have a very emotional scene in the third act. As an actor, what is it like knowing you have a scene like that? Is it something that you try not to rehearse so that all the emotion can be there when you are filming, or is it something you do want to rehearse and gauge where you want to be?

PULLMAN: Oh, good question. I think it depends on the scene, depends on the circumstances of the scene, and depends on your scene partner. Sally is game to talk about it to infinity. But I think when it comes to the scene itself, she definitely wants to preserve the magic.

That scene in particular isn’t something that I really rehearsed. I think I just kind of tried to marinate in it — there’s so much information that is hidden in Cameron all at once — and try and leave room for the bafflement and the wonder and the grief and the catharsis and relief there.

Then, honestly, it sounds so cheesy, but just looking at Sally’s face. Her face is just like a topographical map of humanity. It is just like a soulful, beautiful thing to look at. I sat down on that bench, and I saw her. She had just been out there for, like, a day in the pouring rain, and we were all worried we were going to lose the eighth wonder of the world, and I sat down, and I just looked at her face, and it was lucky for me that I think just being there and being reactive to her was all that I needed, really.

remarkably-bright-creatures-sally-field Image via Netflix

I think people are going to love this movie. I would imagine every time you make a project, you take something away from it that maybe affects you in real life, so did you take anything away from this project that’s stayed with you?

PULLMAN: Tova says, “There’s a right way and a wrong way to do things,” and that definitely has stuck with me. It’s such a simple little mantra, but even just going about my day in my house, rather than throwing my pants on the dresser, I’ll think about the build-up of, “Okay, if I just throw my pants and then I change into these pants, when I get home from work, am I just going to throw these pants on top of those pants?” There is order, and there is a way to maintain order and keep the chaos at bay, at least. I think in a very practical way that really affected me.

And then I also think being open to friendships in all different shapes and sizes. I think that probably if you talk to Tova or Cameron at the beginning of this film, both of them would say they want to have nothing to do with each other, and where they end up is such a beautiful place. What they find within each other is something that I don’t think either of them knew existed, and knew that they even needed, at the time. So, I think being open to that was something I learned.

Lewis Pullman Teases a “Mind-Boggling” Rick Moranis Return in Spaceballs 2

He discusses how the parody sequel goes beyond spoofing Star Wars.

lewis-pullman-on-spaceballs-2
lewis-pullman-on-spaceballs-2

I definitely have to touch on Spaceballs 2. I saw footage at CinemaCon, and it was one of my favorite things I saw there. What I learned at CinemaCon was that it’s not just a spoof of Star Wars, it is a spoof of a lot of sci-fi. So, what can you tease people about how it’s not just Star Wars? There are Avatar jokes there, and there are tons of things that people don’t realize are coming.

PULLMAN: The writers, Dan [Hernandez], Benji [Samit], and Josh [Gad], really took advantage of the whole concept in the best way possible. So many times, I think being a fan of something can really help invigorate it. I think them working with Mel [Brooks] to keep what we love so much about Spaceballs, and then also just expound on it and expand on it… Anyone who’s a fan of anything will probably get a reference in there at some point.

What was your favorite prop that you got to see or work with? The stuff I saw looked amazing.

PULLMAN: I will just say there is a spaceship, a console, that I could not believe was real. No one will even see some of it. This should, and I hope will be, a freeze-frame fest of people freeze framing this movie and zooming in and seeing the detail that went into this. The buttons on this console, I discovered a new one every day, and literally had a laugh, all by myself.

Rick Moranis is coming out of retirement for this is amazing. Which was your I-can’t-believe-this-is-my-life moment when you were filming, and maybe, possibly with Dark Helmet?

PULLMAN: I think just hearing him do the Dark Helmet voice, and him just slipping back into it so, so seamlessly. It was just a mind-boggling moment because that voice lives in my brain free of rent. Just hearing him find it again — he didn’t even have to find it; it was just right there — was just a dream come true.

Popcorn buckets at movie theaters have really taken off. Are you aware of this?

PULLMAN: I know about the Dune bucket.

Do you know what the Spaceballs 2 popcorn bucket will be?

PULLMAN: I don’t, but I can’t wait to see. I think that they are going to have so much fun with the marketing of this thing. I think they already are. The ideas are overflowing.

George Wyner, Rick Moranis, and Mel Brooks looking up in fear in Spaceballs

Lewis Pullman Says The Schwartz Is With ‘Spaceballs 2’: “It Has So Much of Mel’s DNA In It” [Exclusive]

“It’s just some brilliant writing that went into it.”

Last thing on Spaceballs. You have mentioned that filming Spaceballs 2 felt like a bizarre simulation. So, which is more intense, pulling G-forces in a real F-18 with Tom Cruise or pretending to fly a flying motorhome with your dad?

PULLMAN: [Laughs] You know, one was kind of mind-melting, and the other was body-melting, and both were challenging in their own ways. Both were very exciting and exhilarating in their own ways.

On a scale of one to I’ll-be-fired-if-I-blink, how stressed are you about keeping Marvel secrets before opening day?

PULLMAN: Is zero not stressed at all? I would say I’m not stressed at all because I haven’t seen it yet. If I had seen it, and I were sitting here right now, I’d be a five, I think. Once I see it, then ask me that again.

Do people in your life, like friends or family, ask you to actually say things, or do they know you can’t talk about this?

PULLMAN: Mostly, they just want to know what I was doing in London.

Like off set?

PULLMAN: No, like what did I have to do? Like, if you spend some time somewhere, usually your friends are like, “What did you have to do out there?” And so you dance around it. It’s just a fun little dance you get used to kind of grooving with.

Prince Harry Left Shaken By Attack On Uncle Andrew

Published

on

Prince Harry at Archie's birthday

Prince Harry is reportedly “rattled” by news of a security incident involving his disgraced uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Ahead of a potential trip to the UK in July for an Invictus Games event, the Duke of Sussex will now be looking to double down on his security fight after claiming it’s “impossible” for him to take his family to his home country without police protection.

Reports also suggest Prince Harry has left the palace enraged after sending in a list of “demands” ahead of his trip to the UK this summer.

Prince Harry is reportedly shaken by news of his uncle Andrew’s security breach and will now intensify his efforts to ensure his security situation is sorted out.

Reports suggest the former Duke of York was walking his dogs near the Sandringham Estate, where he’s currently living out his exile from royal life, before a masked man suddenly jumped from a parked car and charged at him.

It took the intervention of his unarmed private bodyguard, who rushed him back into their vehicle and sped off.

Now sources have shared that the incident has further heightened the Duke’s concerns amid his own security fears in the UK after his taxpayers-funded police protection was withdrawn.

“Harry was horrified,” an insider told Rob Shuter’s #ShutterScoop. “If someone can get that close to Andrew near a royal estate, then nobody is truly protected anymore.”

Harry has been embroiled in a multi-year legal battle with the Home Office over his security status, and has previously expressed concerns about the possibility of returning to the UK with his family if the situation remains the same.

According to the journalist, he now believes more than ever that the situation has strengthened his argument that royals need protection and are very vulnerable.

“Harry believes this validates everything he’s been saying,” the source said. “He keeps asking what stops the same thing from happening to Meghan or the children.”

“Harry does not defend Andrew personally,” another source explained. “But he believes royals are permanent high-risk targets regardless of public opinion.”

Prince Harry’s Fight For Protection Didn’t Go As He Wished

Last year, Harry lost an appeal to have his security detail reinstated when visiting the UK.

His security has been handled on a “bespoke,” case-by-case basis by RAVEC, where he is required to give a 30-day notice ahead of any potential entry into the UK before the committee makes a decision on what security he receives.

However, his lawyers have argued that the process hasn’t been conducted in good faith, and the committee didn’t properly reassess the threats he faced when considering his situation in 2020.

According to the BBC, they argued that he had been “singled out” for “inferior treatment,” but the court maintained that there wasn’t anything unlawful about how the decision was reached.

The Duke Was ‘Devastated’ By His Court Loss

Harry suffered a major loss in his fight for security as a judge ruled that his “sense of grievance” over how the decision by RAVEC was reached didn’t translate automatically to a successful appeal.

Following the ruling, Harry said he was “devastated” at losing the appeal and that the possibility of returning to the country with Meghan and his kids Archie and Lilibet was “impossible.”

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he said.

Buckingham Palace said at the time, “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

Prince Harry Has Annoyed Several Royal Family Members With A List Of ‘Demands’

It comes amid reports Harry has left his family enraged with several “demands” ahead of his trip to his home country this summer.

The Duke will be in the country for an Invictus Games event and was understood to be looking to bring Meghan and his children. However, such reports have now been thrown up in flames following the latest security scare.

“Harry is coming in with all these demands on behalf of Meghan, and it’s rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way,” a source told Heat World. “Harry says he has no choice, based on how badly things have gone in the past.”

“The last thing he wants is Meghan walking into a situation where she feels judged, and he says all he’s asking is that she’s treated with basic respect and not cast as the bad guy before anything’s even happened,” they added.

Many of his family members are “outraged” that he’d even consider making the request, considering the fact that he left his working royal role in 2020, and the whole thing has Meghan written all over it.

“The fact that, once again, it all centers around Meghan — and presumably ensuring she’s treated with kid gloves,” the insider continued. “King Charles is clearly desperate for peace and to keep all sides happy, but he needs to be careful.”

“If it starts looking like he’s treating Harry like a prodigal son, it will cause a lot of resentment,” the source added.

Selma Blair Just Made Summer Bermuda Shorts Trend Wearable

It seems like every time we open Instagram, another influencer is telling Us that something we love wearing is suddenly uncool. We’ve decided to stop paying attention, especially when it comes to the debate about Bermuda shorts. Not everyone wants to rock booty-baring options, and after seeing how Selma Blair styled her denim pair, we’re totally sold on the longer length.

The 53-year-old actress was spotted out in Los Angeles in early May, wearing knee-length cutoffs with a breezy white top. Her outfit was simple, but the shorts added flair by playing with proportions. Of course, we could try (and likely fail) to DIY our own version from an old pair of jeans, but rather than stressing about measurements and struggling with scissors, snagging Levi’s 94 Baggy Shorts is the smarter solution.

Made with 100% cotton, these classic, mid-rise bottoms are the ones you’ll reach for every day, all summer long. They’re as versatile as the itty-bitty cutoffs you wore on repeat throughout your teens and 20s, but since they hit right above the knee, you won’t have to worry about flashing anyone when you’re on the move. The Roll It Up Clean color option closely resembles the mid-wash blue Blair chose, however, the same style comes in multiple shades, including lighter and darker blues and even black denim. The shorts are also available in sizes 24 to 34.

Remember when shorts weather meant frantically digging through your drawers for something that didn’t pinch, ride up or wrinkle into oblivion? Well, those days are done. The athleisure pivot has officially taken over our summer uniforms, and no-fuss sporty styles are having a serious moment. Track shorts have quietly become a must-have trend for summer […]

You won’t have any issue working these Levi’s into your warm-weather wardrobe. Style them like Blair by wearing them with an airy white tank and strappy sandals, or, when the weather is rainy and chilly, slip them on with a hoodie and sneakers. You can even give them the ultimate fashion-girl spin by adding kitten heels and an elaborate going-out top whenever you’re feeling fancy.

Amazon shoppers love that these shorts “have that ’90s feel” and, unsurprisingly, praise the “excellent quality” and the fact that they “wash well,” which is definitely on par with other designs from the brand.

“The denim is nice quality, not too thick, and also not overly stretchy, which helps them keep their shape throughout the day instead of getting loose or saggy,” one person wrote, adding that they found sizing to be accurate. In fact, their only critique was that they wished there were even more washes, so that they could buy another pair.

It’s also worth noting that while these shorts are perfectly loose, you’re not going to get lost in them. Those who purchased them can’t believe how well they hug their curves. “It looks like I actually have a butt,” a happy customer remarked.

Fashion icons like Blair are clearly on board with Bermudas, so don’t let anyone tell you this totally wearable, easy and flattering shorts style isn’t cute. For $40, you’ll be in good company — and be comfy, too!

Chrisean Rock Addresses Viral Videos Seattle Boxing Blueface Update

Chrisean Rock had the internet in SHAMBLES after poppin’ out with Blueface over the last few days. She first turned heads when she joined him as a guest during a Seattle performance, spent time in his trailer and later offered to give him boxing lessons. The videos went viral, with many fans expressing disappointment in what they believed was her “moving backward.” Amid the backlash, Chrisean Rock is finally clearing the air on her status with her former bae.

Chrisean Rock Pens Letter To Her Critics

When we say the internet was going IN on Chrisean, think drrraaaaagggg her. Merciless. Insults. Shock. Anger, even. So, amid all that energy, Rock decided to release a statement via Instagram Stories on Tuesday (May 12). She started with “Dear world,” and explained that people “confuse forgiveness with weakness or going backward.” This time, though? Going backward is not what she’s on, she clarified.

“I forgave because I value peace more than carrying anger. No, we are not together I just choose respect over resentment,” Chrisean Rock wrote. Adding, “I’ve learned that not every battle is meant to destroy you. Some are meant to grow you. I prayed, faced things head on and left it in Yahweh’s hands.”

Rock also said she has “no hate” in her heart and isn’t distracted. What fans saw online was a result of her “growth, healing and staying locked in.” Also, she explained that she’s trying her best to be mature and set healthy boundaries, so they can be there for their “little guy.”

“We talked. We apologized, now we are moving forward, not because we want to, but because we need to for our little guy,” she said.

It appears the mother is referring to her son Chrisean Jesus. As previously reported, Blueface said in an interview last week that he is not the father of Rock’s son. He claimed it was an online narrative they let slide because it was a “good storyline,” that kept fans hooked. Blue also suggested, without naming him, that Ronny Doe is the child’s birth father. Ronny died last year, several weeks after taking to social media to claim Chrisean Jesus as his own and demand a DNA test. Back in March, Blueface did the same thing. He denied being the child’s dad and suggested Ronny was.

In a separate post, she added: “Y’all keep saying ChriseanRock was with Blueface No No No Chrisean was with Johnathan the old Chrisean died. Don’t let that go over your head. -Holy Hands”

Social Media Reacts To Chrisean’s Statement

In The Shade Room’s comment section, the roommates shared mixed reactions to Chrisean Rock’s statement. There were supporters who understood her POV as a mother, while others dismissed the idea that linking up was necessary. A few others locked in on Rock still claiming Blueface is her co-parent after his repeated and public denials.

@ms.skyami commented, “She talk a good game. Like the way she word stuff make you want to root for her. If you’ve rooted for her long enough yk this bs.”

“I think what she doesn’t see is so many people be rooting for her,” @dadsdoitoo said.

“He just did an interview saying that’s not his baby 😭😭😭,” @cle0petra added.

“YOU COULD’VE FORGAVE HIM WITHOUT LINKING UP WITH HIM, GIRL BYE,” @a2miliitant commented.

“Forgive don’t mean deserve access…. She’s young just continue praying for her … Holy spirit have your way and I pray the people in her circle especially her spiritual family start talking to her about monitoring spirits and access etc … even Jesus had boundaries 🤯,” @suzettte_therealtor said.

“Definitely agree with the confusing forgiveness for weakness 🤏,” @callme_shanti_ commented.

Meanwhile, @iamher_itsher added, “FORGIVENESS DOESN’T MEAN RECONCILIATION!!!”

“I love Chrisean down but it’s not enough forgiveness in the untied states of the kingdom of God that would allow me to grant access. I value myself too much forgiveness don’t me ACCESS🗣,” @bigsexyofficial commented.

“So Basically she’s trying to say that she’s getting her coin & trying to coparent the best way she can! So we need to mind our business and understand her growth 🤷‍♀️,” @peachiesuze2 wrote.

“I mean he was just saying the kid isn’t his & that she had something to do with the other alleged father’s death, but go off,” @fancycreole commented.

“Stop adding GOD into everything.. people think by adding GOD while trying to make a point will make people think twice or make their point more valid…. girl bye,” @nycxelizabeth said.

“That man your opp fr & you giggling w| him..,” @luuchianna added.

“So proud of Chrisean.! She is ONLY 26 and has learned from her mistakes and trauma. Everyone is [allowed] to grow. 🙌🏼🙏🏼,” @mya543210 wrote.

“I can never forgive anybody who publicly disrespected my child ! Pls idc how immature that is,” @trill.ass.shae chimed in.

“I can forgive somebody for myself… but not for disrespecting my child. Like what will your child grow up & think about you as a woman and protector,” @brown_nboujie added.

Even ‘LHHATL’ star Bambi stepped in with a lil’ word. There’s been questions about her and Lil Scrappy’s status after they seemed to both spend time with his youngest son, which he shares with Shakira. In response to Chrisean, Bambi wrote, “Let me borrow this statement … 😩.”

Karlissa Saffold Shares Ultrasound Video Of Nevaeh’s Baby

And while the internet is speculating about Chrisean Rock and Blueface, his mother is actively stepping up for her unborn grandbaby. Also on Tuesday, Karlissa Saffold shared a photo and video of Nevaeh Akira and Blue’s unborn son, Solar Andre Porter.

In March, after revealing her pregnancy, Nevaeh made it clear that she planned to stick by Blueface, no matter what. She also claimed her her firstborn son and her unborn were both lucky to have him. Most recently though, she and Blue argued on a livestream about his ties to other women, including spending time with them. Their relationship status remains unclear. Regardless, it looks like Karlissa Saffold isn’t letting anyone stop her from grandma duties! She shared the same post on Instagram.

Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke’s Twisted Revenge Plot Against Katie!

Published

on

Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) - Katie Logan (Heather Tom)

Bold and the Beautiful delivers Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) trying to stage a coup at Forrester Creations, basically. And Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is over at her company helping to find a new designer or a fashion icon to help keep Logan going after Eric Forrester‘s (John McCook) one-and-done couture line.

And things are about to get a lot messier. We’re gonna talk about whether Brooke’s sneaky takeover move is not really about Hope for the Future or what she actually deserves. This may be about jealousy at her little sister Katie.

Katie Wanting Hope to Come Over To Logan on Bold and the Beautiful

All right, so we’ve got Katie hoping that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) will come over to Logan. And even though she’s not a designer, I’m sure with Bill Spencer‘s (Don Diamont) money and Hope’s reputation in the industry, they could easily hire a designer. Plus, Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) might actually come with her because he is super mad this week about Hope for the Future being shelved.

And Brooke has no idea that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is trying to lure Hope over to Logan. And I’m sure Brooke would be ticked off if she found out, and obviously she will at some point. But instead of just, you know, saying, “Okay, fine,” and going, “Hope decided to destabilize Forrester Creations and manipulated her mom into making a grab for Steffy Forrester‘s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) job.”

Brooke Seducing Ridge to Get Her Way on B&B

We just saw Brooke tell Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) they should run Forrester Creations together. And Brooke reminded Ridge of everything she’s done for Forrester and talked about working there longer than Steffy’s been alive. That’s not really a selling point. You know, Brooke has also pulled this stunt in lingerie using sex as a manipulative weapon. And then she said she didn’t want to put Ridge in a difficult position, but that’s exactly what she’s doing.

And Brooke tried to say the only difference would be she wouldn’t answer to Steffy. Brooke said that Steffy would answer to them. But there’s a lot more to it than just that. Because if Brooke is co-CEO, you know, Hope would go rub it in Steffy’s face just like she did when she and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) took over Forrester Creations for a while. Because let’s be honest, at this point, Hope is absolutely willing to ruin Brooke’s marriage to get what she wants. That’s how selfish she is.

Hope And Katie Want Revenge on Bold

So, a big reason this is happening is Hope wants revenge on Steffy for shelving Hope for the Future and for laughing in her face, which wasn’t cool. It wasn’t, but still. And Katie trying to recruit Hope is also about revenge. Katie just admitted to Donna that yeah, bringing Hope to Logan would help her company succeed, but there’s more to it. Because when Donna asked if Katie wants revenge for Brooke repeatedly stealing Bill, Katie said both things can be true.

Revenge and professional success. So, we’ve got Hope and Katie wanting revenge, but I suspect Brooke is also looking for revenge, and she wants it on her sister. She insulted Katie at every turn, saying she stole Eric’s designs. That’s not true. They were paid for. And then there’s the Logan trademark. Bill pointed out the other day, real-world legal reality, that Forrester Creations never had a line named Logan. So legally, Forrester had no claim on the trademark whether it had expired or not. If you don’t use it, you lose it. That is trademark law in the US.

Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Wants to Steal Katie’s Thunder

So, I think Brooke was also ticked that Katie’s launch was a smashing success. And when Brooke came to poke at her afterwards, Katie said to Brooke, “You’ll always be iconic.” But there’s a new Logan in town. I’m the one they’ll be talking about now. It was pretty obnoxious of Katie to say it. However, Brooke had said some similar stuff to her before, so it’s kind of tit for tat.

I think Katie’s words ate at Brooke, though. Even though she was griping that Bill gave Katie the company, at least she owns it. Katie 100% owns Logan. Meanwhile, Brooke is an employee. She is a paycheck earner at Forrester Creations. She might like to run Forrester so she can throw it in Katie’s face that she is co-CEO of a much bigger fashion house. And of course, Brooke would steal all the headlines away from Katie by announcing herself as the new co-CEO next to Ridge who’s replacing Steffy. That would be huge news.

Ridge Can’t Kick Steffy Out on His Own

Brooke used all of her assets to convince Ridge. And so he’s going to go talk to Steffy this week. Liam already warned Hope that Steffy is going to be furious with Brooke, but Hope doesn’t care. Liam asked her just to stop this and come to Spencer, but Hope thinks Brooke is going to make Ridge give her what she wants. But I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as Brooke and Hope think. Longtime watchers may remember that Ridge fired Steffy years ago because of Brooke.

Back in the day, Ridge thought Steffy leaked a video of Brooke and he fired her. And it turns out Steffy didn’t leak the video and was rehired. And company ownership was different back then. At the time, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) had 25% of Forrester Creations. And she turned around after Ridge pulled that stunt, firing Steffy over the Brooke nonsense. And Taylor gave Steffy all of her Forrester shares.

So that put 25% in Steffy’s hands because Taylor wanted to make sure Ridge could never push Steffy out of Forrester again. And then she got more shares from Bill. And so that’s how Steffy owns 37.5% of Forrester Creations. And Eric also owns that same amount. So together they’ve got 75%. Ridge has 20% of the ownership and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) owns the last 5%.

Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) - Katie Logan (Heather Tom)Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) - Katie Logan (Heather Tom)
Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Logan – Katie Logan

Ridge is Repeating the Same Mistake on Bold and the Beautiful

So, all on his own, Ridge cannot kick Steffy out as co-CEO and just give it to Brooke. The only way to make it happen is if Steffy voluntarily steps aside, or if Eric sides with Ridge and votes to push Steffy out. I’m just wondering if Brooke’s going to go try and use her manipulative Logan mojo to get what she wants from Eric.

I know Brooke is confident she can manipulate Ridge into doing what she wants, and she may try the same thing with Eric. Now, if Donna saw what Brooke was doing, she may advise Eric just stay out of it. And Donna might be annoyed that Brooke was trying to manipulate her husband. Bottom line, it didn’t go well when Ridge pushed Eric out of Forrester Creations, and it looks like Ridge is teetering on the edge of repeating that same mistake only with Steffy this time on Bold and the Beautiful.

Plus, Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) is one of Steffy’s besties. So, if Brooke manages to manipulate these Forrester men to shove Steffy aside, would Daphne threaten to shut down her fragrance line and pull everything and then Carter might side with Steffy and Daphne?

Without Eric Voting With Him, Ridge Can’t Make This Happen

And in the end, without Eric voting with him, Ridge simply can’t make this happen. And no way is Steffy going to voluntarily step aside. Plus, she should turn around and tell Ridge, “Look, the timing of all this is very suspicious. I shelve Hope for the Future to make room for Eric’s couture line and all of a sudden Brooke demands co-CEO. I mean, hello, it’s not coincidental.”

I’d like to see Ridge go back and ask Brooke if Hope asked her to do this because it is definitely about Hope, but I think for Brooke, it’s also about slapping back at Steffy for sidelining Hope and also slapping at Katie because she’s jealous her little sister has a fashion house.

So, we’ll see if Hope’s sneaky plan works. She already gaslit Brooke into making this power play and it could wreck Forrester. It could wreck Ridge and Brooke’s marriage after this. I mean, honestly, Katie shouldn’t want Hope at Logan because this is the kind of selfish chaos that she brings wherever she goes.

If Steffy finds out Hope pushed Brooke to do this, she might fire Hope for starting another would-be coup. I’d actually kind of like to see Steffy fire Hope. As for Brooke, she’s asking to be handed something after she mocked Katie for Bill handing her Logan and it seems kind of hypocritical and a whole lot of revenge stuff happening, but I’m here for it.

RHORI Star Ashley Iaconetti Denies Nose Job Rumors

Ashley Iaconetti set the record straight on if she’s gone under the knife.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star, 38, addressed rumors surrounding her appearance during a recent Q&A on her podcast, “Almost Famous,” which she cohosts with fellow Bachelor Nation alum Ben Higgins. During the Friday, May 8, episode, Iaconetti shut down speculation that she had a rhinoplasty and revealed she’s “never had plastic surgery.”

“You know how Kendall Jenner says that she’s never had plastic surgery? Kendall — I understand what she’s saying about her nose, though,” Iaconetti said, referring to rumors that Jenner, 30, got a nose job. “My sister had a nose job, my aunt had a nose job and my grandma had a nose job,” Iaconetti explained of the women in her family. “My other grandma? Well, she didn’t want to have a nose job but let’s just say she doesn’t have a tiny nose and she’s alive and 102.”

“My nose is natural, but Kendall says [her nose] got smaller with Accutane,” Iaconetti continued. “I also think my nose has gotten so much smaller with age.”

Kendall Jenner is proud that she’s only rarely dabbled with cosmetic procedures. “I swear to God, I’ve done two rounds of baby Botox in my forehead [and] that’s it,” Jenner, 30, said on the Friday, January 9, episode of Owen Thiele’s “In Your Dreams” podcast. “[That’s] the only thing I’ve ever injected.” Jenner further debunked […]

Iaconetti went on to say that in old photos, her nose was “so much wider.”

“Now I’m wondering, is it just acne medication in general? Because if [Kendall’s] not lying, my nose [also] got smaller once I started Spironolactone at 24.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Iaconetti doubled down that she’s never gone “under the knife” and has “never been under anesthesia.”

“I get my lips injected about once a year and I’ve been doing that for about 11 years,” Iaconetti shared. “I got it for the first time going into Bachelor in Paradise. And then, I get Botox — really mine lasts a long time. I think my forehead’s kinda trained at this point so it’s really every 5 months.”

She continued, “And then once a year I’ll do Botox in my masseter muscles — my jaw. And then the other thing that I love is chin filler, which I’ve done for 7 years.”

Iaconetti noted that she’s not a “big fan” of having filler in her cheeks.

Jenner previously squashed rumors that she secretly underwent a rhinoplasty during a January episode of the “In Your Dreams” podcast. “I swear to God, I’ve done two rounds of baby Botox in my forehead [and] that’s it,” she said.

“For any young fan that’s watching this video, thinking, ‘I’m just going to run and get a nose job … or whatever it is,’” Jenner continued. “I will say the nose job allegations I’ve gotten, I would believe them if it wasn’t me. I look at old photos of me and I’m like, ‘Wait, it does look like I’ve had a nose job.’”

Jenner shared that with time, she simply “grew into her nose.”

“It did look wider and it did feel bigger on my face when I was younger,” she explained. “I also … did Accutane for my acne, and there’s a theory on TikTok that acne shrinks your nose and, you guys, I swear it’s true.”

Steven Spielberg’s Most Divisive Sci-Fi Film Deserves Its Positive Rotten Tomatoes Score

Published

A child stares out an open front door where an ominous orange glow is coming though

Even with all the crowd-pleasers to his name, few contemporary blockbuster filmmakers have a catalog as frequently debated as Steven Spielberg. Two decades on, his adaptation of War of the Worlds continues to divide audiences more than most. Released in 2005 and starring Tom Cruise, the film holds one of the lowest audience scores of Spielberg’s career on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s often left out of the top 10 in rankings of his greatest works. But War of the Worlds doesn’t deserve such a middling reputation. Revisiting it today, you’ll find something far more special than its legacy would suggest.

Coming from such iconic source material, you probably already know the basic setup: An alien invasion threatens humanity, and an ordinary man must fight for his family as society collapses. But, unlike the H. G. Wells book, Spielberg takes the book’s Victorian England setting and drops us in New Jersey instead. Cruise plays Ray Ferrier, a dockworker and flawed father to Rachel (Dakota Fanning) and Robbie (Justin Chatwin). When aliens invade, the family’s going to need a hero if they’re going to make it through alive. But is Ray really up to the task?

‘War of the Worlds’ Replaces the Traditional Action Hero With a Panicked Everyman

Spielberg isn’t interested in depicting heroism in the traditional sense. Ray isn’t a savior, and he sure isn’t a leader either. Unlike the action hero you’d expect at the center of all great sci-fi thrillers, he’s highly reactive, incredibly overwhelmed, and just barely holding it together. It locks the film in on a character other post-apocalyptic thrillers would do away with in act one. The ambition of this choice is clear from the film’s first major set piece: the invasion.

In his more than 50 years of filmmaking, Spielberg’s never directed something more terrifying. In films past, the director would put us in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing. But when the ground cracks open and the first tripod emerges, the audience isn’t left in the hands of a level-headed and unwavering lead. Like his kids, we’re stuck with Ray… and all the uncertainty and panic and chaos that comes from him as our guide.

‘War of the Worlds’ Channels Post-9/11 Fear Into One of Spielberg’s Boldest Sci-Fi Visions

The film is innovative for more than just its main character. Beneath the surface, War of the Worlds is a different kind of spectacle — one more concerned with uniquely 21st-century themes. The imagery is clearly born of post-9/11 anxieties: a morning attack, dust swallowing crowds, people running in fear, a sickening sense that things will never be the same … War of the Worlds channels the fear and disorientation that was still so fresh in American minds after 2001. Rather than offering escapism as usual, Spielberg confronts that reality head-on.a 76% critics’ score at Rotten Tomatoes

Plenty of critics liked War of the Worlds — it does hold a modest 76% critics’ score at Rotten Tomatoes — but top voices like Roger Ebert and Jonathan Rosenbaum called it hokey and uninteresting. Its 42% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter is also less than enthusiastic. They’ve got it wrong, though. Viewed today, the film’s unconventional Cruise role and its willingness to explore the darkest corners of the collective unconscious make for one of Spielberg’s boldest projects ever. It’s a film that challenges its audience, sidestepping the easy answers or comforting resolutions we expect from Spielberg. It might not fit neatly alongside some of his most entertaining works, but that’s precisely what makes it so ambitious … and one of his most underrated, too.

The fallout from “The Roast of Kevin Hart” is continuing to spiral after Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial George Floyd joke sparked outrage online and drew criticism from Floyd’s family, fellow comedians, and viewers alike. Now, Tiffany Haddish is being pulled into the conversation after she was asked directly about the backlash while leaving the star-studded Netflix event. While the comedian admitted she missed the joke entirely, her reaction to the growing controversy is still raising eyebrows online.

Haddish was stopped by TMZ following Sunday night’s Netflix roast event and asked directly about the joke that has since ignited criticism from George Floyd’s family, fellow comedians, and viewers online. However, the “Ride or Die” actress admitted she was distracted during the now-viral moment. According to Haddish, she had stepped away because she needed to use the bathroom and missed the joke entirely.

While she declined to directly address the George Floyd comment itself, Haddish did appear to react to the backlash surrounding the roast. The comedian suggested that many of the loudest critics are fellow comics who may simply be upset they were not included in the event.

Though Haddish didn’t elaborate further, her facial expression at the end of the interview appeared to hint at how she personally felt about the controversy surrounding the show.

The backlash erupted after Tony Hinchcliffe made a joke referencing Floyd during his set at the Netflix roast. “The Black community is so proud of you… right now George Floyd is looking up at us all laughing so hard he can’t breathe,” Hinchcliffe said while roasting Kevin Hart.

Floyd died in May 2020 after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes during an arrest, despite Floyd repeatedly saying he could not breathe. His death, which was captured on video and widely shared online, sparked massive protests across the United States and around the world demanding police reform and racial justice.

The case became a defining cultural moment, fueling the Black Lives Matter movement and leading to widespread demonstrations against police brutality. In 2021, Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter in connection with Floyd’s death and was later sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

Now, representatives connected to The Gianna and George Floyd Foundation are speaking out against the joke and criticizing both Hinchcliffe and Hart.

Travis Cains, a spokesperson for the foundation, told TMZ that Hart allegedly allowing the joke was “sad for the culture.” According to the foundation, Floyd’s family and friends are reportedly “baffled and disgusted” by Hinchcliffe’s repeated references to Floyd in comedy routines.

The criticism also comes after Hinchcliffe previously made another Floyd-related joke during “The Roast of Tom Brady.”

The foundation also raised concerns about the impact these jokes could have on Floyd’s daughter, Gianna, who is now 12 years old. According to the organization, Gianna has reportedly experienced bullying at school, something they believe jokes like Hinchcliffe’s only worsen.

“We are trying to rebuild things for our community and make things better in our community,” the foundation said in a statement. “Let’s try to be a little bit more positive, and not sit up there doing colon inspections by white comedians.”

Lil Rel Howery Calls Tony Hinchcliffe’s Joke ‘Disgusting’

Comedian and actor Lil Rel Howery also publicly condemned the roast joke in a passionate Instagram post shared Tuesday morning. Lil Rel described the moment as “disgusting” and questioned why the audience did not react more strongly in the moment. The actor pointed out that the crowd loudly booed NBA star Draymond Green throughout the roast but remained silent during Hinchcliffe’s Floyd punchline.

Lil Rel Howery also said he could not understand why Hinchcliffe felt the joke was necessary in the first place, calling it “needless.” And as outrage surrounding the Netflix roast continues spreading online, neither Kevin Hart nor Tony Hinchcliffe has publicly responded to the criticism.
