8 Praiseworthy Dark Fantasy Movies No One Ever Talks About

Published

on

Fantasy films are generally known for their sense of wonder, even joy, in the magical and mystical. Dark fantasy is the other side of the coin, the stories that approach the same concepts and forms from a more mature angle, finding greater depths of emotion, philosophy, and even terror in their fantastical worlds. It’s a genre that has given us many of the most acclaimed fantasy films of all time, like Pan’s Labyrinth or Coraline, but there are also a significant number of great dark fantasy movies that have sadly faded from the spotlight.

Though they’re not as widely discussed as they ought to be, these films still rank among the genre’s greats, taking audiences on mesmerizing journeys with powerful messages and high production values. Without further ado, here’s our selection of the most praiseworthy dark fantasy movies that no one ever talks about anymore.

‘The NeverEnding Story’ (1984)

Adapted from the first half of Michael Ende’s 1979 novel, The NeverEnding Story was directed and co-written by Wolfgang Petersen in his English-language debut. The film follows a young boy who finds a magical book set in the wonderland of Fantasia and discovers that the lines between fiction and reality aren’t as strict as he may have imagined. The movie stars Noah Hathaway, Barret Oliver, Tami Stronach, Patricia Hayes, Sydney Bromley, Gerald McRaney, and Moses Gunn, with voice acting by Alan Oppenheimer.

These days, The NeverEnding Story mostly comes up in conversation as a reference or a joke, and except for dedicated fans, not a lot of people actively discuss the film or even watch it. However, the movie is a fantasy masterwork that’s one of the best children’s films of the 1980s, taking viewers, young and old, on a magical journey into the hidden powers of imagination. The film was a critical and commercial success when it first hit theaters in 1984, earning several accolades and spawning two sequels: 1990’s The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter and 1994’s The NeverEnding Story III.

‘The Dark Crystal’ (1982)

A landmark dark fantasy film directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, The Dark Crystal is best known for its extensive use of puppets and animatronics, featuring no human actors on screen at all. The film explores the conflict between two groups in the magical land of Thra, the innocent Gelflings and the evil Skeksis, following two young Gelflings on a quest to restore a shattered crystal, which holds a power that can change the world. The film’s voice cast includes Stephen Garlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw, Percy Edwards, and more.

A surprisingly dark and mature fantasy film for its time, The Dark Crystal had mixed reviews from 1980s critics, but it has since grown into a beloved cult classic. Though it isn’t as widely known as it deserves to be, the film is recognized by critics, scholars, and fantasy fans as a masterpiece with imaginative worldbuilding, unique production, and a highly original story, supported by top-notch practical effects and creature design. A prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, was released on Netflix in 2019, which is also equally brilliant and underrated.

‘The Last Unicorn’ (1982)

Directed and produced by Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass, The Last Unicorn is an animated fantasy written by Peter S. Beagle that’s adapted from his 1968 novel. The movie follows a unicorn who learns that she is the last of her species on Earth and sets out on a quest to learn what happened to the rest of her kind, learning painful lessons about love, regret, and mortality along the way. Mia Farrow leads the voice cast as the Unicorn, with Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges, Tammy Grimes, Angela Lansbury, Christopher Lee, and more voicing key supporting characters.

Though it had a positive reception from the critics of its time, The Last Unicorn was a box office flop, but it has since developed a cult following. A compelling, bittersweet fantasy that’s narratively superior to most animated films of its time, the movie has earned praise from critics and fans for its engaging performances, the somber soundtrack, and the animation by Japanese studio Topcraft, the precursor to the acclaimed Studio Ghibli. It’s arguably one of the greatest animated fantasy films of all time, but the movie is still not as widely appreciated as it ought to be.

Gollum

You carry something heavy — and you carry it alone, even when you don’t have to. You were not born for greatness, and that is precisely why greatness chose you. Your courage is not the roaring, sword-swinging kind; it is quiet, stubborn, and terrifying in its refusal to quit. The Ring weighs on you more than anyone can see, and still you walk toward the fire. That is not weakness. That is the rarest kind of strength there is.

You are, without question, the best of them. Not the most powerful, not the most celebrated — but the most essential. Your loyalty is not a trait; it is a force of nature. You would carry the person you love up the slopes of Mount Doom if it came to that, and we both know you’d do it without being asked. The world needs more people like you, and the world is lucky it has even one.

You were born to lead, and you have spent years running from it. The crown is yours by right, but you know better than anyone that right means nothing without the will and the worthiness to back it up. You are tempered by loss, shaped by long roads, and defined by a code of honour you hold to even when no one is watching. When you finally step forward, the world shifts. Because it was always waiting for you.

You have seen more than you let on, and you say less than you know — which is exactly as it should be. You are a catalyst: you do not fight the battles yourself, you ignite the people who can. Your wisdom comes not from books but from an age of watching what happens when it is ignored. You arrive precisely when you mean to, and your presence alone changes what is possible. A wizard is never late.

Graceful, perceptive, and almost preternaturally calm under pressure — you see things others miss and act before others react. You do not need to make a scene to be remarkable; your presence speaks for itself. You are loyal to those you choose to stand beside, and that choice is not made lightly. You have lived long enough to know that the most beautiful things in this world are also the most fragile, and that is why you fight to protect them.

You are loud, proud, and absolutely formidable — and beneath all of that is one of the most fiercely loyal hearts in Middle-earth. You don’t do anything by half measures. Your friendships are forged like iron, your grudges run as deep as mines, and your courage in battle is the kind that makes legends. You came into this fellowship suspicious of everyone and ended it willing to die for an elf. That is not a small thing. That is everything.

You think in centuries and act in absolutes. Order, dominion, control — not because you are cruel by nature, but because you have decided that the world left to itself always falls apart, and you are the only one with the vision and the will to hold it together. You were not always this. Something was lost, or taken, or betrayed, and the version of you that stands now is the answer to that wound. The tragedy is that you’re not entirely wrong — just entirely too far gone to course-correct.

You are a study in contradiction — pitiable and dangerous, cunning and broken, capable of both cruelty and something that once resembled love. You are defined by loss: of innocence, of self, of the one thing that gave your existence meaning. Two voices war inside you constantly, and the tragedy is that the better one sometimes wins, just not often enough, and never at the right moment. You are a warning, yes — but also a mirror. We are all a little Gollum, given the right ring and enough time.

A reinterpretation of the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale “Hansel and Gretel,” Gretel & Hansel is a dark fantasy horror film directed by Osgood Perkins and written by Rob Hayes. Sophia Lillis and Sam Leakey star as a teenage Gretel and her younger brother Hansel, who are lured into a trap by an evil witch with a dark secret. The movie also features Alice Krige, Jessica De Gouw, Charles Babalola, Fiona O’Shaughnessy, and more in supporting roles.

When it first premiered in 2020, Gretel & Hansel had a fairly positive critical reception and a successful box office run, grossing $22.3 million worldwide against a $5 million budget. Though it’s become largely forgotten since then, the film is a genuinely scary and visually stunning fantasy. Though its writing may be uneven in parts, it’s still a solid experience for horror fans and arguably one of the best movie adaptations of its classic source material.

5

‘Dororo’ (2007)

Dororo 2007

Inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s 1960s manga series and directed by Akihiko Shiota, Dororo is a Japanese dark fantasy action movie that follows two warriors, the cursed samurai Hyakkimaru and Dororo, a female thief who pretends to be a man. Together, they travel the land in search of 48 demons, each of whom possesses one of Hyakkimaru’s stolen body parts. Satoshi Tsumabuki stars as Hyakkimaru and Kō Shibasaki as Dororo, with Eita Nagayama, Kiichi Nakai, Yoshio Harada, and more in supporting roles.

Tezuka’s original period fantasy series has been highly influential in the world of manga for decades, and it’s inspired multiple anime adaptations and novels. The live-action film is a loose adaptation of the manga that isn’t quite as popular, but it is a niche cult classic, especially among fans of fantastical action movies. With a unique narrative, stellar action choreography, and impressive makeup work for its time, Dororo is easily one of the most underrated Japanese movies of the 2000s.

6

‘Sleepy Hollow’ (1999)

Directed by Tim Burton and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, Sleepy Hollow is a gothic supernatural horror film loosely adapted from Washington Irving‘s 1820 short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Johnny Depp stars as Ichabod Crane, a New York City police officer who arrives in the village of Sleepy Hollow in the fall of 1799 to look into a series of murders, purportedly committed by the spirit of a Headless Horseman. The film also stars Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon, Casper Van Dien, Christopher Lee, and Jeffrey Jones in notable roles.

A cult classic Halloween movie, Sleepy Hollow premiered in November 1999 to critical acclaim and box office success, though it’s relatively underrated among Tim Burton’s films these days. Powered by its stellar performances, direction, writing, and music, Sleepy Hollow is a chilling dark fantasy movie with a wicked and subtle sense of humor. A must-watch for fans of Burton’s signature style of filmmaking, the movie went on to receive several accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Art Direction.

Directed by Michael Cohn, Snow White: A Tale of Terror is a Gothic dark fantasy horror film that reimagines the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale. Set in 15th-century Germany, the film stars Monica Keena as Lilli Hoffman, a young noblewoman whose stepmother, Claudia (Sigourney Weaver), seeks to kill her, forcing Lilli to flee into the forest, where further dangers lurk. Besides Keena and Weaver, the movie also features Sam Neill, Gil Bellows, David Conrad, and more in supporting roles.

Though it may be inspired by a fairytale, Snow White: A Tale of Terror is exactly what the title suggests: a dark, twisted retelling that adds greater depths and horrors to its story and characters. The film had mixed reviews in its time, but it did earn a number of accolades, including three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Though it’s more or less forgotten these days, the movie is a must-watch for dark fantasy fans, not least for Sigourney Weaver’s haunting performance as the evil stepmother, who is seen here to be a far more complex character than ever before.

‘The Green Knight’ (2021)

Adapted from the Arthurian poem “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,” The Green Knight is a dark fantasy adventure movie directed, written, produced, and edited by David Lowery, with Dev Patel starring as Gawain. Not yet a knight, Gawain is the son of Morgan le Fay and nephew of King Arthur, and one Christmas, he accepts a fateful quest to face the mysterious entity known as the Green Knight, finding his courage, morality, and honor tested along the way. Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, and Sean Harris star in supporting roles, with Ralph Ineson as the Green Knight.

The legends of King Arthur and his knights have been fertile fodder for numerous adaptations, but none quite like The Green Knight. The film presents a surreal, fantastical narrative that captures the magic and spirit of the legends while revealing the flawed, human nature of its mythical characters, particularly its protagonist. Anchored by Patel’s compelling performance, the movie earned critical acclaim for its acting, cinematography, and production values, and though underrated, it’s easily one of the best dark fantasy films of all time.

King Charles Reportedly ‘Terrified’ Of William’s Temper

Published

on

Prince William and Kate Middleton at the 2026 BAFTAs

Prince William has long maintained the image of a calm and composed future king, especially during public outings. However, behind palace walls, reports now suggest that his fiery temper has become a growing source of concern, even for his father, King Charles.

A new book by a royal expert claims the heir apparent is “capable of great bellowing” tantrums, something Prince Harry previously hinted at.

Earlier reports have also suggested that William’s wife, Kate Middleton, has often acted as the glue between father and son during moments of occasional tension.

In the past, several reports have suggested that William and Charles do not always see eye to eye on certain issues.

Now, according to royal biographer Christopher Andersen, some of those disagreements can become extremely heated, particularly on the prince’s part, as he is reportedly “capable of great bellowing tantrums.”

Andersen claimed that when this happens, Charles is sometimes left terrified by the confrontations, much like anyone would be when faced with William’s far louder and more forceful voice.

“When he gets frustrated, he does resort to shouting [at the king],” an ex-employee at Highgrove House, Charles’ country estate, told the royal expert, per Page Six. “William has a huge, booming voice. Much louder than his father’s, so it’s not something you soon forget.”

Prince Harry Once Claimed William’s Anger Turned Physical

William’s alleged temper was once highlighted by Harry in his 2023 memoir, “Spare.”

The Duke of Sussex recounted a heated confrontation between the brothers at Nottingham Cottage, where tensions reportedly boiled over over several personal issues involving his wife, Meghan Markle, as well as their ongoing struggles with the British press.

As the argument escalated, Harry claimed one of his remarks angered William so deeply that the future king became physical.

Harry wrote that the incident happened quickly, alleging that William grabbed him by the collar, broke his necklace, and knocked him to the floor, according to The Guardian. He further claimed he landed on a dog bowl and was left briefly dazed before telling William to leave.

William’s alleged propensity for anger has also been noted in several other royal commentaries, with some accounts even citing the views of senior members of the royal family.

Robert Lacey, in his 2020 book “Battle of Brothers,” claimed that Queen Camilla once told a friend she was shocked by “the ranting and raving that William unleashed on occasion against her husband in her presence.”

Similar claims were echoed by royal author Robert Jobson in his 2026 book, “The Windsor Legacy: A Royal Dynasty of Secrets, Scandal, and Survival.”

Excerpts from the book alleged that William is prone to “mood swings,” can be overly “assertive with his father,” and that his “fiery temper” is often “difficult to handle.”

Kate Middleton Reportedly Acts As The ‘Glue’ Between Charles And William

Amid the occasional feuding between father and son, it is Catherine, Princess of Wales, who has reportedly often acted as a calming influence within the family.

In January 2025, British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that King Charles III is “extremely fond and proud of his daughter-in-law,” whom many already view as one of the British monarchy’s brightest assets.

At the time, Chard described how the pair share similar passions, with the King reportedly in awe of Catherine’s “wow factor, empathy and resilience.”

More importantly, Chard claimed Catherine’s “solution-focused” nature is the “glue” that has helped maintain the bond between Charles and his son.

Prince William Reportedly Wants To Avoid King Charles’ Mistakes

When William eventually takes the throne, his reign will likely look very different from that of his father, according to royal expert Valentine Low.

GB News quoted Low saying that William is very much “different from his father,” adding that he is also “very aware of what he regards as mistakes his father has made.”

The prince reportedly intends not to “repeat them,” with one of those alleged mistakes being a lack of awareness about the boundaries between what one can do as Prince of Wales and as King, and how those actions could affect the government itself.

Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump is currently on a high as she has two new shows in the works. However, in the meantime, the businesswoman and reality TV personality has a lawsuit on her hands from a former handyman who claims he was injured at her home in 2023.

This news comes as “Vanderpump Rules” was left out of NBCUniversal’s recent upfront renewals after failing to match its pre-reboot viewership.

TMZ obtained court documents in May 2026 that show a lawsuit filed by Eric Nieto in November of last year. The legal filing stemmed from an incident Nieto claims happened on November 25, 2023, at Vanderpump and husband Ken Todd‘s $14 million mansion.

The handyman states that the couple hired him to make repairs to the home. Per the documents, he was required to use what is described as an exterior stairway leading to the basement. Unfortunately, Nieto allegedly fell after his foot became stuck on stair tread. He stated that this happened due to the condition of the stairs.

Nieto claims that following the fall at Vanderpump’s home, he suffered various injuries. They include a severe one on his lower left leg as well as his ankle. The handyman said in court documents that he has experienced pain and suffering and that he will need continued medical attention.

He is requesting $150,000 for the alleged pain and suffering, as well as $45,000 for his medical expenses. So far, neither Vanderpump nor Todd has responded to the lawsuit. However, per the report, the couple has been in touch with their homeowner’s association about it.

Following the news of Vanderpump being sued over an alleged incident at her home, fans of the Bravo personality are weighing in. Of course, many are noting that felling “RHOBH” star Kathy Hilton is also being sued by someone who claims to have been injured at her home.

One person said on X, “If the man was actually hurt at their home, Lisa and Ken should pay up. He’s not asking for much in comparison to what they have. However, the long time before filing the lawsuit is suspicious to me.”

Someone else said, “She’ll settle, and we won’t hear anything else about it.” After that, someone else mentioned Hilton, saying, “It must be a Beverly Hills curse. First Kathy and now Lisa. Stop having people at your homes.”

Later, a different social media user doubted the accuser, saying, “Anything to leech rich people’s money.”

Vanderpump, like many business owners, has been sued multiple times. According to US Weekly, one of the most recent came in January 2024 when two former bartenders at their Tom-Tom restaurant, Dax Hill and Peter Hodge, sued them for wrongful termination. They also claimed that Vanderpump and Todd blacklisted them.

The former employees stated that the Tom Tom owners “[published] false statements and comments to numerous third parties” pertaining to their “profession, reputation, and character. ” Additionally, they alleged “unsafe work conditions.” The two reported “sewage and backup” in the employee breakroom as an example.

Some of their other claims include being paid late and having their shifts reduced after voicing concerns about the workplace environment. Per the documents, “During this period, [the former bartenders] experienced rampant violations of California labor laws, harassment and unsafe working conditions.”

The suit was settled in September 2025.

‘Vanderpump Rules’ Isn’t Canceled

NBCUniversal hosted its annual upfronts in May 2026, which included several renewals and announcements of new shows. As mentioned, “Vanderpump Rules” was notably absent, despite previous reports that the show had been renewed for season 13.

Following the omission, TMZ reported that Bravo and NBCUniversal have not canceled the long-running reality show. Instead, it’s simply going on a pause. The outlet cited Vanderpump’s filming other projects outside Los Angeles, where “VPR” is filmed, as the reason.

Currently, she’s spending time in Las Vegas as she prepares to open her new hotel, which will be the subject of one of her upcoming shows, “Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas. After that, she will begin filming season four of Hulu’s “Vanderpump Villa.”

Forget ‘Alien’ — Netflix’s Overlooked 8-Part Sci-Fi Horror Series Turns 1 Fatal Error Into a Survival Nightmare

Published

on

JK Simmons in Counterparts

Space is always a terrifying place to be, where the claustrophobia of a spaceship is unnervingly contrasted with the vastness of its outside environment — alone and trapped in the purest sense. Somehow, Netflix’s animated sci-fi horror, Exception, takes the terror of the location up a notch, not only by tossing in a rampant monster, Alien-style, within the close quarters of the spacecraft, but also by plunging viewers into inescapable existential dread. The miniseries offers eight 30-minute episodes of survival horror and a mission to save humanity, all while questions about what it means to be human are woven into the story’s fabric, forcing the audience to consider humanity’s existence like never before.

What Is ‘Exception’ About?

At first, it seems like Exception is your typical sci-fi foray into attempting to save the world while being stalked by a terrifying creature, but soon enough, it becomes so much more than that. The series introduces a crew of five people — Nina (Ali Hillis), Patty (Nadine Nicole), Oscar (Eugene Byrd), Mack (Robbie Daymond), and Lewis (Nolan North) — tasked with terraforming a planet to make it habitable for Earth’s population. However, this crew is actually made up of 3D biologically printed copies, via a contraption called the Womb, of the original humans, who are in cryosleep in another shuttle. When a solar flare disrupts the printing process, Lewis emerges as a human-monster hybrid that attacks everyone on board, and soon thereafter, the crew realizes there is also a traitor on the ship, kicking off a paranoid fight for survival.

The show opens with Nina’s printing process, where she earnestly says, “I am human,” a sentiment that is thoughtfully dissected throughout the rest of the series. The printed versions of the humans have the same memories, thoughts, and feelings as the original humans, but with the Womb, they also have godlike powers to create more prints if necessary. Lewis’ complication also adds a wrinkle to these questions, muddying the answers to whose lives have value and what makes someone human.

The 35 Most Underrated Sci-Fi Shows You Haven’t Seen (Yet)

To infinity and beyond (the usual sci-fi shows)!

Ideas on sentience, mental capacity, emotions, language, memories, and mortality are all considered, but where do you draw the line if there is a line to be drawn? Does it make you less human if you don’t have one of these traits? These morality questions often act in the background of the survival plot, but they are felt deeply and are by far the most captivating part of Exception. As the series progresses, they linger in the back of your mind, making the events and twists feel more disturbing than ever.

Netflix’s ‘Exception’ Balances Survival Horror and Morality

Around the existential core of Exception are the visuals and fast-paced plot that heighten the stakes of the morality questions, as they feed into each other to create a gripping whirlwind experience. Although critics have described the 3D animation as off-putting at times, as the show progresses, it actually feels perfectly suited to the premise. Sometimes the graphics quality can appear a little rough around the edges, but it contributes to the heady and distorted atmosphere of being in space, trapped by a monster and their minds. Additionally, the art itself is ethereal with an effervescent sheen, fitting with how we question the prints’ realities and claims to humanity.

At the forefront is the plot that begins as a survival horror, briefly dips into a whodunit as the crew searches for the traitor, then returns to an action-packed battle as all the players’ identities and motivations are revealed. Each character is memorable in their own right, ranging from the calm and charismatic Nina, trying to find the most ethical but pragmatic way to deal with the evolving situation, to the lovable Oscar, whose emotions are as strong as his loyalty. As we learn more about the characters and their true intentions, the plot quickens with fun genre thrills, making the existential dread feel more manageable.

Between the morality questions and the suspense of whether they’ll survive, Exception is one of the most mind-bending, twisty, and chilling sci-fi horror shows you’ll ever watch. It keeps you guessing right until the end, all while forcing you to confront the very nature of humanity, making for a show that’ll stay with you long after the finale’s heart-pounding revelations.

General Hospital LEAK: Who Enters a Shocking Fake Marriage for Convenience?

Published

on

General Hospital: Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) - Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) - Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)

General Hospital fans, we’ve got a brand new leak for you. This one is wild and involves a marriage of convenience. The leaker told us two people that are not going to be in this marriage of convenience are Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

They won’t be marrying each other. However, that leaves tons of other interesting options. In the past, there have been several marriages of convenience on General Hospital. Usually, it’s to keep people from testifying against each other, but there have been other uses of it. So, we’re going to talk about who might get hitched to avoid legal or other sorts of trouble.

Marriage Of Convenience History On General Hospital

All right. So, this leak came to us a couple of weeks ago, and I mentioned it in passing in one of our rumor roundups, but we’re going to talk about it in depth today. Because it’s huge. But first, I just want to clarify, as I always do, that this is a leak/rumor. This is not an official spoiler, but our leaker has a really good track record, and I love stuff like this.

So, I will give them props on having probably an 80% success rate. So, as a reminder, General Hospital did marriages of convenience in the past several times. Carly married Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) a couple of times to avoid testifying against him. Same for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) many years ago. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) married Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) when she was pregnant so she wouldn’t be deported. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) got married back in the day as part of a scheme, but she was secretly with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) back then.

I think it’s been so long, my mind’s a little fuzzy on that one. Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) started out with a blackmail-based marriage and then of course fell in love. And now with several crimes unsolved but still brewing in Port Charles, we’re about to get another one according to the leaker.

Portia And Isaiah Could Get Married on GH

So, one couple to consider is Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson). Now they are in a relationship, but they’re not at the marriage stage. So, that would still be a marriage of convenience by definition. And if they got hitched, Portia couldn’t be questioned.

Because if she was his wife, she wouldn’t have to answer anything about Isaiah’s whereabouts the night that Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) drove recklessly and caused her own accident. If you remember, Isaiah was going over to Lulu Spencer‘s (Alexa Havins Bruening) to treat Rocco Falconeri‘s (Finn Carr) infection, and Portia didn’t know what patient he was seeing.

But with Isaiah questioned by Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) this week, he and Portia may do a quickie wedding so she can’t be questioned by the PCPD about Isaiah. And 100% Portia would do that to cover for Isaiah. She doesn’t mind gray areas. Plus, it makes sense. Because Portia is serious about Isaiah and he’s ready and willing to play stepdaddy to her and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) baby. So, I think it being the two of them is plausible. I would cheer it on. Because the only one who needs to face consequences on this wreck is Jordan.

Britt And Jason Could Get Married on General Hospital

A second option to consider is once he’s back in July, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jason. That way Britt can’t testify in court against him if it came down to it on the shooting. She told the cops Jason shot Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). Because Jason told her to say it.

But once he’s back, if he is officially charged by the PCPD, even though Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) knows better, you know, he might tell him, “Look, I’ll just go down for this to protect Rocco.” Marrying Jason would mean Britt can avoid testifying. And we know Jason and Britt both want to protect Rocco.

So, if Britt got hitched to Jason, that would limit testimony. Britt couldn’t be put on the stand. Jason could plead the fifth against self-incrimination, and there’s no other witnesses and there’s not a ton of evidence. So, I think this option of Britt marrying Jason to avoid testifying seems plausible, but it may be a long shot.

And that’s just based on some backstage chatter saying that when he left, Steve Burton wasn’t happy with his storyline. So, once he’s back, Jason may not stick with Britt for very long after he returns to Port Charles. We’ll see. Jason and Britt professed their love to each other right before he was hauled off into WSB custody. They’ve had feelings for each other for a long time now. So, as it stands, they’re plausible, but if they pivot the storyline and Britt’s not with Jason, it seems less likely.

GH Shocker: Nina And Jack Brennan Could Get Married

Also, based on the storyline with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) injecting Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) with Drew Cain‘s (Cameron Mathison) medication, I think they are a possible match for a marriage of convenience. Assuming Jack survives his “stroke”, there’s going to be questions that neither Nina or Jack want to answer.

And so, if Nina and Jack tie the knot, Nina wouldn’t have to testify about what happened at Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) house. And Jack wouldn’t have to answer questions either about what happened there. Because he probably doesn’t want it to come out. Nina was actually aiming for Valentin trying to protect Jack and to protect Willow. Um, off the cuff, you wouldn’t think that Jack would want to marry Nina at all.

However, Jack might agree. Because Nina may threaten to out him for blackmailing both her and Willow. Plus, don’t forget, Jack’s pretty salty about Carly cheating with Valentin. And of course, Carly would be furious if he up and married Nina, whom she hates. So, that might be a reason for Jack to consider a marriage of convenience on top of legal things. And Willow may keep her promise to help with WSB funding. So that way, Jack wouldn’t have to testify about anything that happened with Nina or what she did to him or what she and Willow are doing to Drew. Also, this would be a nice way for Nina to enjoy a little payback on Valentin and Carly for them hooking up because I bet Nina is going to be jealous when she finds out that as well.

Cassius And Lulu Could Get Married on GH

Another pair to consider is uncomfortable. Let’s talk about not Nathan and Lulu. If Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) married Lulu, they could avoid answering questions about the Rocco coverup. You know, Lulu wouldn’t have to answer any questions about what Cassius did helping to protect Rocco if it came out.

You know, however, Lulu is upset with not-Nathan at the moment for telling her to take Rocco and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and run off. Because of the danger from Cullum. He and Lulu got into that big fight recently and their romance is very new and he’s showing some signs that she doesn’t like. That’s because he is not Nathan.

However, we also know Faison men get fixated on women. So, I’m sure Cassius would jump at the chance to marry Lulu. Our leaker mentioned that when she finds out the truth that Cassius is not Nathan and is actually his wicked twin brother, she’s not going to take it well and Cassius turns very dark.

Little bonus leak there for you. So it would get really wild if Lulu was in a marriage of convenience with Cassius at that point. And Lulu might be stuck staying married to Cassius, even knowing the truth so that she could keep on protecting Rocco. And I could absolutely see Cassius manipulating things to go that way.

General Hospital Twist: Carly And Jack Brennan Could Get Married

So, the last pair to talk about would be totally twisted. Laura Wright posted a photo in a dressy white suit. She was in her dressing room on the set. It could have been casual wedding attire, but the leaker said it’s not Carly and Valentin in the marriage of convenience.

However, Carly could be in a position where she has to marry somebody else, somebody she really doesn’t want to marry. What if she had to marry Jack Brennan to protect either Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) or Valentin?

At this point, Carly really can’t stand Jack, but I think she would marry the devil himself to protect Josslyn. And this could be Jack’s way to punish Carly for cheating on him with Valentin and then rubbing it in his face.

Plus, Jack would love to see Valentin have to deal with him being married to the woman he’s fallen for. If Carly had to marry Jack, it would be more than a marriage of convenience. It would be a marriage of absolute hatred. We’ll see how it goes.

Netflix’s 6-Part Crime Thriller Is the Perfect ‘Ozark’ Replacement Fans Have Been Waiting For

Published

on

Netflix's Legends cast stands outside in character

One of Netflix’s earlier TV hits, the Jason Bateman-led Ozark has remained one of the streamer’s more memorable titles as well. The crime drama saw a regular banker and his family take on a money laundering scheme for a cartel, meshing the terrors of organized crime with a group of in-over-their-heads characters who felt instantly relatable. Ozark ran for four seasons and concluded its run back in 2022, so most fans of crime shows have already watched through the show at least once by now. Fortunately, this month brought a new series to Netflix’s lineup that feels like a strong successor to Ozark, giving those fans an easy weekend binge to scratch that same itch.

Last week, Netflix released the first season of new crime series Legends, which instantly feels like it has the potential to follow in the footsteps of beloved shows like Ozark and Narcos. The season is only six episodes in length, making it easy to binge through the story in a single weekend (or less), setting up what fans of the crime genre are already hoping will be a long-running series.

What Is Netflix’s ‘Legends’?

From creator Neil Forsyth, Netflix’s new Legends series tells the true story of a group of British Customs employees who are tasked with going undercover and infiltrating a dangerous drug ring. The saga of these agents was covered in the book The Betrayer: How an Undercover Unit Infiltrated the Global Drug Trade, which was the true, written account of one of those agents, Guy Stanton.

In Legends, Guy is played by actor Tom Burke, who starred in Mank and The Lazarus Project before his scene-stealing breakout turn as Praetorian Jack in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Guy, along with a handful of other regular Customs employees, are given brand-new identities at the start of their new jobs, and tasked with taking on the international drug trade. Like the family in Ozark, these agents haven’t been training their whole lives for this type of assignment, and they realize quickly that they are in way over their heads.

Similar to Peacock’s Ponies series — which is also about inexperienced agents going undercover but has a much bigger comedic streak to itLegends isn’t set in the modern day. The entire show takes place in the 1990s, allowing for some great production style and costuming you don’t get in a lot of shows.

In addition to Burke, the series stars Steve Coogan, Hayley Squires, Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Gerald Kid, Charlotte Ritchie, and Kem Hassan.

Will ‘Legends’ Get a Season 2?

We’re less than a week removed from the debut of Legends on Netflix, so it isn’t surprising that Netflix hasn’t made any announcement about its second season fate just yet. The streamer will likely take some time to study the show’s performance data before revealing news about Season 2.

So far, the show has performed well, at least where the Netflix Top 10 TV Shows list is concerned. Legends has been a steady presence on the list in the United States since arriving on the platform, though it has been slightly overshadowed by titles like Man on Fire and Lord of the Flies. The performance in the UK will probably be a major factor, given that Legends is a British production and focuses on a group of real-life heroes from England.

The saga of Guy Stanton and his fellow Customs agents would be impossible to fully fit in just six episodes, so there is hope from a lot of fans that there will be more Legends on the way in the future. The warm reception from critics (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) may bode well for its word-of-mouth performance.
