Your Next Jason Statham Obsession Just Entered Post-Production

Viva La Madness, a new action-thriller based on J.J. Connolly’s 2011 novel and the follow-up to Layer Cake, has officially entered post-production, according to an exclusive obtained by Collider. “I think we finished that about a month ago,” director Guy Ritchie told Steve Weintraub, “It was a great pleasure working with Jason.” The film stars the likes of Statham, Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs, Babs Olusanmokun, Camila Mendes, Ben Foster, Jonny Lee Miller, and Raúl Alejandro. It marks the sixth collaboration between Britain’s most famous modern Hollywood ass-kicker and director Ritchie, almost 30 years since they first joined forces on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

June is going to be a terrific month for fans of classic Hollywood movies, with landmark titles such as the Southern Gothic noir thriller The Night of the Hunter, Stanley Kubrick‘s anti-war masterpiece Paths of Glory, and the single greatest legal drama ever made being released on Prime Video. The legal drama was released nearly seven decades ago to universal acclaim, but had an underwhelming response at the box office. The movie earned three nominations in key Oscar categories — Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Screenplay — and is now regarded as one of the best films ever made. The movie was adapted by Reginald Rose from his own 1954 teleplay, which has since inspired at least one Bollywood film, a Chinese drama, a television movie, and an episode of Family Guy.

Released in 1957, the film in question was produced and headlined by Henry Fonda, with Lee J. Cobb, Ed Begley, and Jack Warden in supporting roles. Interestingly, it also happens to be one of the greatest directorial debuts of all time. The movie was helmed by a young Sidney Lumet, who went on to make classics such as Dog Day Afternoon, Network, and Serpico. Produced on a reported budget of around $335,000, the film ended up grossing around $2 million at the box office — not nearly enough to qualify as a bona fide hit, but not poor enough to be categorized as a flop either.

We’re talking, of course, about 12 Angry Men. The courtroom drama follows jurors in a murder trial deliberating over whether to send a man to the gallows. 12 Angry Men is essentially a morality tale; some jurors are convinced that the evidence doesn’t support a conviction, while others aren’t as conflicted about the idea of sending a man to his death. The movie is among the rare movies to hold a “Certified Fresh” 100% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where the consensus reads, “Sidney Lumet’s feature debut is a superbly written, dramatically effective courtroom thriller that rightfully stands as a modern classic.” The film’s influence remains unchallenged; Clint Eastwood‘s most recent (and probably final) film, Juror #2, dealt with many of the same themes, as did William Friedkin‘s last movie, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. The burning question about Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi‘s relationship has been answered.

“The Kardashians” star’s link-up with the “Euphoria” actor, which has blossomed into a budding romance, was more than a mere coincidence. The pair started turning heads in April and has since tried to keep details of their relationship largely out of the spotlight, probably taking cues from their previous public romances.

Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi are no newbies in the dating world and have been linked to famous stars in previous years. With this current romance, they seem to be living in the moment and taking each day at a time.

Insiders continue to spill the tea on Jenner and Elordi’s relationship despite their attempts to keep things lowkey. Sources have revealed that “The Kardashians” star and the actor did not meet by chance, as their coming together was thoughtfully orchestrated by Hailey and Justin Bieber.

This does not seem to raise eyebrows as they are both friends of the Biebers and were first spotted making out at Justin’s Coachella after party in April.

Page Six reported that the matchup was fueled by the Biebers’ encouragement as well as some push from other friends. Although it is unclear who made the first move, an observer said the reality TV star could not resist Elordi’s charms at the Coachella afterparty.

The new couple was spotted over Memorial Day weekend with friends who played cupid, taking cocktails at the five-star Santa Barbara San Ysidro Ranch hotel, close to where Jenner has a 6-acre home. One onlooker even described the model as being  “very touchy” with her man.

The Lovebirds Are Taking Things Slow

While Elordi and the reality TV personality have been spotted a number of times by paparazzi together, enjoying each other’s company, they are reportedly not rushing into things.

According to a source, they are “not rushing to label anything or call each other boyfriend/girlfriend yet, but neither of them is seeing anybody else.” They are, however, reportedly letting each other into their personal lives. Jenner has started bringing the “Kissing Booth” star around her close friends and her younger sister, Kylie Jenner.

President Donald Trump is, once again, entering the chat as New York Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart continues to receive backlash for introducing the commander-in-chief at a recent political rally.

“Well, first of all, I wish I looked just like Jaxson,” the president, 79, said in a Saturday, May 30, interview on Fox News Channel’s My View With Lara Trump. “He’s this guy. I said, is he a male model or what? He’s a handsome guy, like a beautiful guy, and a conservative guy. He said, ‘I love you, sir.’ And I didn’t know he was doing it.”

Dart, 23, introduced Donald Trump at a campaign-like rally for Republican congressman Mike Lawler on May 22 in Suffern, New York, sparking instant backlash online and even among his fellow NFL players.

Netflix is adding a major chunk of the Rocky franchise on June 1, with Rocky, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, and Rocky Balboa all joining the streamer. Together, the wider franchise has become one of the most iconic sports sagas in movie history, with the original run and follow-ups through Creed turning Rocky into a billion-dollar franchise. The films tell the story of Rocky Balboa, a scrappy underdog boxer from Philadelphia who ends up fighting the World Heavyweight Champion, Apollo Creed.

How Successful Was the ‘Rocky’ Franchise?

It’s hard to overstate just how successful the films ended up being, from truly humble beginnings. The original Rocky films alone grossed roughly $1.27 billion worldwide across six movies, from Rocky through Rocky Balboa. When you include the Creed trilogy, the wider Rocky/Creed franchise rises to about $1.93 billion worldwide.

The original 1976 Rocky was the real miracle, as it cost about $1 million and grossed around $225 million worldwide, which is ridiculously successful given the fact it was essentially an indie. It also won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing at the Oscars, while Sylvester Stallone became only the third person at the time to be nominated for acting and writing in the same year.

Rocky II made about $200 million worldwide, Rocky III made about $270 million, and Rocky IV made about $300 million, making the middle stretch of the franchise especially huge commercially. By that point, Rocky wasn’t just the on-screen underdog, he was almost the face of America as he single-handedly ended the Cold War, or so the film attempted to depict. Rocky V dropped hard with about $120 million, but Rocky Balboa rebounded respectably with about $156 million.

Then Creed gave the franchise a second life. Creed, Creed II, and Creed III grossed roughly $174 million, $214 million, and $274 million worldwide, respectively, with Creed III becoming one of the highest-grossing entries in the entire franchise.

The Rocky collection comes to Netflix on June 1.

Amid their continued strained ties with the royal family, sources have suggested that Prince William will take a “much harder line” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when he becomes king.

William and his brother haven’t been on speaking terms, particularly after the duke made several damaging accusations against the royal family following his exit from the firm and relocation to the U.S.

Prince Harry and William’s father, King Charles, reportedly wants them to settle and is said to have launched secret plans to bring the quest to fruition.

William will reportedly not take things lightly with his estranged brother, Harry, and his wife, Meghan.

Reports have earlier claimed that the Duke of Sussex has reached out to his elder brother but heard nothing back, meaning they’ve not been able to settle their long-running feud, with sources even suggesting William is “done with the drama.”

Now, royal experts have claimed that the future king will take a “much harder line” against his brother and sister-in-law, who have continued to use their royal titles to make money and promote a “faux royal” lifestyle.

“William will take a much harder line with Harry and Meghan when he’s king,” the insider told the Daily Mail.

Although the nature of such a hardline stance wasn’t discussed, many members of the royal family have reportedly raised eyebrows over how the Montecito-based couple continues to pose as royals despite dropping their working roles since 2020.

The Future King’s Silence Is Said To Be ‘A Strategy’

William has grown famous for his no-nonsense approach to duty, even distancing himself from disgraced uncle Andrew following reports of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

With his brother, things will likely not change even as the duke prepares for a trip to the UK for an Invictus Games event this summer.

In a chat with Fox News Digital, royal expert Helena Chard explained that the Prince of Wales is willfully “ignoring the circus” and is “done with the drama.”

When Harry last visited the UK to check on his father after getting wind of his cancer diagnosis, both brothers still didn’t meet, nor did they talk, as William continues to build a “wall of silence” between them.

“This feels like a permanent royal reset,” Chard shared. “But William’s silence isn’t a mystery. It’s a strategy.”

“William regards his brother as totally untrustworthy,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams also told the news outlet.

King Charles Taps Aide To Help Bring The Brothers Back Together

Meanwhile, Charles is reportedly keen to see Harry and Willian reunited and has set a secret plan in motion to actualize this goal.

Reports suggest the monarch is deeply troubled by their rift and has made it “mission number one” for his newest aide, Theo Rycroft, to bring them back together and mend their strained relationship.

Although Rycroft only joined the firm earlier this year, reports claim he has earned the trust of the monarch and is described as a calm operator who’s highly skilled in very sensitive situations.

King Charles’ Aide Plans To Set Up A Meeting Between Prince Harry And William During The Duke’s Invictus Games In The UK

According to the Daily Mail, Rycroft is hoping to kick off actions when Harry lands in the country in July for his Invictus Games event, and would first set up a meeting between him and Charles before encouraging William to join them.

Sources close to Rycroft say he believes the situation is “f-cking ridiculous” and is dead set on “urgently” resolving the issue for Charles’ sake.

“He thinks it’s time to knock their heads together,” the insider said. “Theo’s a very reasonable guy and incredibly nice, and he completely gets that this is a source of great pain to the king and wants to help him resolve it. He sees his job as helping the king resolve it.”

Prince William And King Charles Are Reportedly Clashing Over Harry

It remains to be seen how things will go, as there are still talks of how the king is being careful and doesn’t want to double-cross his eldest son.

Sources told Heat World in April that William remains adamant on not extending an olive branch to Harry, even though his father has taken a much more forgiving outlook on his younger son’s past missteps.

“Charles is at the point where he wants to forgive Harry and find a path forward, but William simply won’t hear of it, no matter what his father says,” an insider said.

“It’s becoming a huge battle because William has a ton of influence behind the scenes, and the fact is that many people within The Firm agree that Harry and Meghan are poison, so Charles doesn’t have a lot of support for bringing them back in,” they continued.

The situation with Harry’s security is said to also be causing some clash between Charles and William, who think the duke is getting “what he deserves.”
