Reading about the life of Ozzy Osbourne is kind of bewildering, and sometimes disturbing (everyone knows about the bat, but he apparently also snorted a line of ants once… somehow). To stick with the music, though, he released some legendary stuff over his decades-spanning career, especially as the frontman of Black Sabbath, being the band’s lead vocalist throughout the 1970s, on their first eight albums.

There was one ninth Black Sabbath album with Osbourne, released in 2013, while different singers served the frontman role at other points in the band’s run (including Ronnie James Dio and Tony Martin). It’s also fair to say that most (though not all) of the band’s classic albums were done with Ozzy Osbourne, and him being the first lead singer in the band helps his name be synonymous with Black Sabbath, too. The following is a ranking of all nine studio albums Black Sabbath did with Osbourne as the lead vocalist, starting with a couple of misses and ending with some absolute classics of the whole heavy metal genre.

‘Never Say Die’ (1978)

When Never Say Die kicks off, it doesn’t initially sound too bad, since the title track is up first, and it’s about as decent as the album gets. You don’t know that initially, though, or you probably don’t, if you’re just getting around to these less well-known Black Sabbath albums, like, today. It could happen. It could be someone’s reality, the one they’re a master of and stuff.

After “Never Say Die,” right at the start, things kind of fall apart. The album doesn’t really sound like Black Sabbath, and in hindsight, it doesn’t feel too surprising that Ozzy Osbourne pursued a solo career separate from the band after the release of this one (thankfully, he returned for one more studio album, plus some live shows later on). Since Heaven and Hell, the first Black Sabbath album without Osbourne, was genuinely very good (and a big improvement on the previous two albums), maybe it was for the best, at that time.

‘Technical Ecstasy’ (1976)

The weirdness here starts – but certainly doesn’t end – with the album cover, because it’s anyone’s guess what’s going on there. Technical Ecstasy keeps feeling odd once you tear your eyes away from that cover long enough to engage the album with your ears. It’s the first slight miss Black Sabbath had, to be perfectly honest. Sure, Never Say Die missed a little more, but Technical Ecstasy was that first unfortunate misstep, and perhaps the first non-essential album of Black Sabbath’s, too.

There are releases without Osbourne from the 1980s and 1990s that are technically Black Sabbath albums and are a little worse, but still, there’s just not much by way of reasons to spend time with Technical Ecstasy. The two longest songs here, “You Won’t Change Me” and “Dirty Women,” aren’t bad, but everything else is surprisingly forgettable. There isn’t a ton of passion or life here, which is odd when you consider how good the first six Black Sabbath albums were.

’13’ (2013)

You know, it’s better than you might expect, or than you might fear. 13 is, unsurprisingly, not as good as the classic Black Sabbath albums Ozzy Osbourne was a part of, and they are going to be gotten to momentarily, but it’s good that 13 exists to stop those other two albums from being the last official ones with Osbourne. It’s a way of ending things on a comparable high, albeit not a high for the band’s overall discography, by any means.

It’s familiar territory, for the band. They sound a bit like they’re playing the hits, even if they’re not technically hits, and are instead songs that just sound recognizably Black Sabbath in nature. If you like the band’s ‘70s output, you will find things to generally like here, but if you’re after things you’ll actually love, that’s not guaranteed, by any means. There isn’t much to be truly wowed by with 13, but again, it not sounding too bad overall is definitely something. And it’s worth listening to over Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die, for what that might be worth.

‘Sabotage’ (1975)

Like Technical Ecstasy, the cover of Sabotage is perhaps a little iffy, but unlike Technical Ecstasy, Sabotage is a pretty good album overall. It was the sixth album Black Sabbath released, and so if you look at its placement here, and notice it’s #6, that kind of suggests it was the weakest Black Sabbath album at that point in the band’s history. Like, that’s technically true.

The album itself is not weak, though, with the first half being especially strong, comprising “Hole in the Sky,” “Symptom of the Universe,” and “Megalomania,” with the last of those songs being almost 10 minutes long, because Black Sabbath just could, one assumes (the second track here, “Don’t Start (Too Late)” is more of an interlude than a real song, since it’s so short). If anything, Sabotage could’ve benefited from having its best songs spread out a little more, because the second half, while not terrible by any means, doesn’t quite have the same impact as the first half. It’s not a deal-breaker, and Sabotage is still good even with that notable imperfection.

‘Vol. 4’ (1972)

Unsurprisingly, Vol. 4 is the fourth Black Sabbath album, but it just misses out on being the fourth-best overall. Sorry. Compared to Sabotage, it’s an improvement in the sense that the best songs here are all spread out a little more. It’s like Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, honestly, with the evenness of its distribution, starting with the fact that the opening and closing tracks here (“Wheels of Confusion” and “Under the Sun,” respectively) are both highlights.

And then rounding out the first side of the album, you’ve got “Supernaut,” right before the second side of the album gets kicked off in style, thanks to “Snowblind.” Those songs are all great, while just about every other song is at least pretty good… except for the strange “FX,” which is a little too long to be just an interlude, and is technically the album’s fourth song. That fourth song on Vol. 4 could’ve probably been cut, truth be told. It doesn’t add much, but otherwise, this is essential Black Sabbath.

‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’ (1973)

And now here’s the fifth Black Sabbath album, which was not called “Vol. 5,” and was instead given the pretty great name of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Again, it has to be acknowledged that it would’ve felt nice to put album #5 at #5, and Vol. 4 and #4, but Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is just a little better than the album that preceded it. For starters, it helps that there are no goofy interludes blown up to the length of a full-on song (or something close to full-length) here.

It’s eight decently lengthy songs, with even the shortest ones exceeding four minutes, and a couple of the longest ones being around the six-minute mark. Everything has room to breathe on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and the result is a well-balanced and very consistent album. Highlights don’t jump out quite as much, because of this, but there is still that title track which probably shines the brightest (which is saying quite a lot, since everything here, to some extent, shines).

‘Black Sabbath’ (1970)

Black Sabbath introduced themselves to the world with an album called Black Sabbath, and the very first song on that debut album was “Black Sabbath.” It’s like, how much more Black can the Sabbath get? (The answer is none. None more Black). No, but seriously, it’s an incredible opening statement from the band as they open their first album. The band’s overall energy and feel are set perfectly right from the start.

Funnily enough, it’s not even the best Black Sabbath album of 1970, just because this year had them at such a creative peak, they went ahead and released another all-time classic rock/metal album later that year. Black Sabbath, as in the album, is pretty much just as essential, though, and almost as good. If you’re looking for highlights beyond the title track, you’ve also got “N.I.B.” and “The Wizard,” but honestly, you can’t really go wrong with any of the seven songs found on this debut studio album.

‘Master of Reality’ (1971)

Black Sabbath didn’t waste any time with their third album, Master of Reality, following on from the first two albums of theirs which both dropped in 1970. The momentum was maintained, to say the least, with these first three Black Sabbath albums ultimately being their three best, with Master of Reality being a good one to pick as your favorite if you’re worried about making too obvious a pick… but hey, the obvious pick was picked here. You don’t have to scroll very far now to see that confirmed.

Anyway, Master of Reality is a little shorter than most of the classic Black Sabbath albums, at just over 34 minutes all up, but it keeps most of the songs fairly long, with two of its eight tracks being interludes, and the rest exceeding five minutes in length. “Sweet Leaf” feels like it might represent the album peaking early, as the first song here, but then you’ve got “Children of the Grave” at the halfway point, and “Into the Void” at the very end, to cast doubt on that whole idea. It’s paced and sequenced well throughout, and has well and truly earned its status as a classic (not to mention influential) metal album.

‘Paranoid’ (1970)

This is the one. This is the album that you can play for people who don’t think they like metal, and convince them to at least like some metal, or this metal. Paranoid is a defining heavy metal album, you know? Maybe it’s the heavy metal album, very much satisfying as a hard rock album, too. Perhaps therein lies its appeal and approachability, because there is super immediate and instantly attention-grabbing songwriting on offer here.

You get it from the very start, with “War Pigs,” and then the second track, “Paranoid,” is potentially even better, or at least even snappier/more immediate. From there, it’s pretty much non-stop greatness. Almost every song here is worth a shout-out, with even the strange and quiet tracks here playing a role in the flow of the overall album. Paranoid is basically perfect, and an album that pretty much refuses to get old, even if it is technically kind of old, having existed for more than 55 years at this point. Here’s to it sounding just as good 55 decades from now, too.

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, made a rare appearance together at one of Harry Styles’ concerts.

DeGeneres’ post comes after she moved to the U.K. countryside in 2024. One year later, she opened up about her decision to leave the U.S. following President Donald Trump’s reelection during a live conversation with broadcaster Richard Bacon.

“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,’” DeGeneres recalled of Trump, 80, winning the election. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.’”

She gushed that the countryside is “absolutely beautiful.”

“We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty,” she said. “The villages and the towns and the architecture — everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life. It’s clean. Everything here is just better — the way animals are treated, and people are polite. I just love it here.”

DeGeneres added, “We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s upcoming season will bring the drama — but sans the toxicity that has plagued past seasons.

“There was so much drama the last few years that producers want the OG cast to settle in with the new cast,” a source close to production exclusively shares with Us Weekly. “It has been far less toxic than previous seasons.”

While much of season 15 remains top secret for now, Bravo previously confirmed that Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania and Teresa Giudice would be returning to the reality show.

New, additional faces are expected to be announced by the network at a later date.

“Melissa, Dolores and Teresa are really enjoying the new dynamic, delivering great personal stories and the larger group is bonding over real-life family situations,” the source explains. “The season so far is full of fun, sisterhood, emotion, comedy and drama.”

During season 14, which concluded airing in August 2024, the cast was divided as Melissa and Teresa’s family feud took center stage. After the duo privately reconciled at the end of 2025, sources close to production tell Us that the vibe is lighter on set.

“Melissa, Dolores and Teresa are being very nice and welcoming to the new ladies,” the source shares.

Us has reached out to Bravo for comment.

Last month, Dolores, 55, was asked about her experience filming with Teresa, 54, and Melissa, 47, after their public feud came to an end.

At the time, The Traitors alum said she noticed a palpable, positive difference between the pair.

“I’ve seen them together,” Dolores said on the May 19 episode of SiriusXM’s The John Hill Show. “It seems very peaceful and sincere and I support it and it’s what I’ve always wanted for them.”

Jennifer Aniston has long been passionate about fitness, but even she has adapted her approach over the years.

Now, the actress says she feels stronger in her late fifties than she did in her 20s. She credits the change to a realization that simplicity and consistency are far more effective than punishing workout routines.

For the past five years, Aniston has incorporated the Pvolve method into her fitness regimen to improve her strength, mobility, and stability.

Before that, however, she had spent years subjecting herself to grueling workouts, which ultimately did more harm than good for her body.

The changes her body has experienced since adjusting her routine have now been acknowledged by her trainer, Dani Coleman, according to Women’s Health magazine. “She has always been passionate about movement and wellness. But it has truly been game-changing to watch her strength year after year just get better and better, and to see her mentality shift with how she imagines what a successful workout is,” the trainer revealed on “The Bossticks” podcast.

Aniston Now Believes Simpler Workouts Work Best

Reflecting further on Aniston’s change in exercise philosophy, her trainer said the actress has come to realize that “you don’t have to break your body down to get a good workout.”

“She’s talked about previous injuries she’s had and how she used to think that you needed grueling workouts, even when she had a back injury. I think the most rewarding thing is really seeing her mindset shift,” Dani added.

Although Aniston herself was not interviewed for the piece, she appears to agree with those remarks, as seen in a recent promotional clip for Pvolve.

“Simpler is better — and consistency,” the actress said in the video, referring to how the Pvolve method focuses on training the body effectively while avoiding overly grueling exercises.

Jennifer Aniston Reportedly Wishes She Found Pvolve Earlier

If Aniston could turn back the clock, she would likely have adopted this mindset toward exercise much earlier, according to Pvolve founder Rachel Katzman.

“The one thing she always says is, ‘I wish I had this in my 20s,’” Katzman said of the actress, who now partners with the Pvolve brand after first being a member.

“She says, ‘I wish I didn’t destroy my body when I was younger to look a certain way because that’s what I thought I had to do,’” Katzman revealed further of the “Friends” star. “‘And now with Pvolve, I look better than I did back then. I feel better. I’m stronger. I’m leaner. I just have more energy.’”

Stephen Baldwin Claims Jennifer Aniston Cost Him A Movie Role

Away from her exercise lifestyle, Aniston also recently came under the spotlight when one of the Baldwin brothers, Stephen Baldwin, mentioned her during a recent episode of his podcast.

The actor claimed that she inadvertently cost him his role in the 1998 romantic comedy “The Object of My Affection” because he was funnier than she was during filming.

“After the second day of shooting, after lunch, this producer comes to my trailer and goes, ‘There’s a problem,’” Baldwin revealed on his podcast. “He goes, ‘You can’t be funnier than Jennifer.’ I go, ‘Is this a joke? This is a comedy movie!’”

The actor claimed that he was later asked by a producer to tone down his comedic delivery. However, the request did not sit well with him, and he described the experience as being “castrated comedically.”

Baldwin Says His Claims Were Not Aimed At Aniston

To keep Aniston as the main star, Baldwin claimed he tried to adjust his performance to meet the producers’ expectations, but it ultimately did not work out.

He then pointed out that he was not sharing the story to come after Aniston, but rather to explain his experience with the production.

The role eventually went to “Mad About You” star John Pankow, who portrayed Vince McBride, a lawyer and one of the love interests of Aniston’s character, Nina Borowski, in the film.

Paul Rudd, who played George Hanson, served as the other love interest. The romantic storyline takes an unconventional turn because Hanson is gay.

At the time of the film’s release, it was only a modest success at the box office. Today, it has developed a cult following and has been highly rated by some magazines as one of the best breakup movies.

Tyra Banks will be returning to Project Runway as a recurring judge amid her lawsuit over Netflix’s America’s Next Top Model docuseries.

Hulu released the official trailer on Thursday, June 18, in which Banks, 52, was seen joining judges Heidi Klum, Law Roach and Nina Garcia, as well as season 4 winner Christian Siriano, who returns as a mentor, for season 22 of the hit competition series.

Banks previously appeared on Project Runway as a guest judge in season 21. Her return comes after news broke that she filed a lawsuit against Netflix following backlash over her participation in its docuseries Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.

In the suit filed on Saturday, June 13, Banks accused Netflix of defamation and editing her interviews to support a false narrative.

“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America’s Next Top Model (‘ANTM’) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy — its successes and its shortcomings,” read a portion of the filing. “There are aspects of the show for which Ms. Banks takes accountability and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly. Going into her interview, Ms. Banks did not limit the ANTM topics the interviewer could ask.”

The lawsuit continued: “During a three-and-a-half-hour interview, Ms. Banks answered questions about the show’s groundbreaking history, including criticism of decisions she would approach differently today.” The filing noted that only 16 minutes of Banks’ interview made the final cut.

America’s Next Top Model ran from 2003 to 2018 before getting canceled. Earlier this year, Netflix did a deep dive into the series with Reality Check, which featured rare interviews with executive producers Banks and Ken Mok and former judges Jay Manuel, Miss J. Alexander and Nigel Barker as they broke down the reality competition’s best — and worst — moments.

Contestants also opened up about their experiences behind the scenes, which included discrimination, sexual assault and more shocking claims. Whitney Thompson, Giselle Samson, Shannon Stewart, Shandi Sullivan, Danielle Evans and Keenyah Hill were some of the alums who weighed in on their experiences.

Banks also addressed the show’s controversial legacy.

“Looking at that show through the lens of today, it’s like, ‘Why did you do that?’ I thank you for that. That is the only way you change. That is the only way you get better is by somebody calling you out on your s***,” Banks said at the time. “It is important. I want to let you know that I want you guys to be just as open as I am now by getting called on my s*** by when somebody calls you out on yours. Because that day will come and continue to evolve. Because that’s what we’re all doing.”

Netflix has yet to publicly respond to Banks’ lawsuit.

The Police broke through in the late 70s with a unique sound that blended reggae, new wave, post-punk, jazz and good old-fashioned rock-n-roll. Comprised of two Brits, bassist and vocalist Sting, aka Gordon Sumner and guitarist Andy Summers, along with American drummer Stewart Copeland, The Police’s career took off in the late 70s, and they became the biggest and most successful group of the early 80s.

‘Outlandos d’Amour’ (1978)

The Police’s debut album Outlandos d’Amour, is an unfiltered and raw post-punk effort with tinges of reggae, new wave, rock and jazz. The effort, which translates to “Outlaws of Love,” immediately struck a chord with hit singles “Roxanne,” “So Lonely,” and “Can’t Stand Losing You.” They found a formula of reggae infused versus combined with driving rock-n-roll choruses that tapped into the masses and influenced generations.

The power trio’s post-punk attitude and youthful energy is on full display on “Next to You” and “Peanuts,” and “Truth Hits Everybody,” which all have an aggressive spirit and a rock-and-roll edge. Their distinctive sound stood out from other popular music at the time yet seamlessly radiated the airwaves of rock radio in the late 70s. Outlandos d’Amour helped pave the way for the New Wave movement, along with The Cars, The Pretenders, The Talking Heads and Elvis Costello.

‘Zenyatta Mondatta’ (1980)

The Police’s third album, Zenyatta Mondatta, has a pop sensibility with succinct songs, well-crafted arrangements and sophisticated subject matter. Nigel Gray, who co-produced the first three Police albums, created a tight and punchy sound that created many radio hits with sing-a-long choruses including “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” “Driven to Tears,” with its deliciously obnoxious guitar solo, “When the World is Running Down, You Make the Best of What’s Still Around” and “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da,”

The effort spawned two Grammy-winning tracks: Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group for “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” and Best Rock Instrumental for the exotic “Behind My Camel.” Zenyatta Mondatta also boasts great deep cuts “Canary in a Coalmine,” “Voices inside My Head,” and the powerful instrumental “The Other Way of Stopping.” The album was recorded in just over four weeks and was finished the night before the band kicked off a European tour.

‘Reggatta de Blanc’ (1979)

Like its debut, The Police’s second album also boasts a French title, Reggatta de Blanc, which translates to “White Reggae.” The record was an immediate smash in the UK, topping the album chart and scoring two number one singles with “Message in a Bottle” and “Walking on the Moon.” “Message in a Bottle” is one of the band’s greatest songs perfectly combining Andy Summer’s signature guitar riff with Sting’s powerful vocals and Stewart Copeland’s intense drums with a memorable sing-a-long chorus.

The effort features stronger songwriting, better performances and more of Andy Summers’ inventive guitar work. “Reggatta de Blanc” highlights Stewart Copeland’s intricate hi-hat and drum work and scored the group its first Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Performance. “The atmospheric “Walking on the Moon” is guided by Sting’s bass and Andy Summers shimmering guitar work. “The Bed’s Too Big Without You” is a fan favorite and highlights the group’s modern reggae sound. The Police also showed they didn’t stray too far from their post-punk roots on “It’s Alright For You,” “No Time This Time,” and “On Any Other Day.”

‘Ghost in the Machine’ (1981)

1981’s Ghost in the Machine is a bit of a departure for the group. The trio began using keyboards, synthesizers and added saxophone to the mix. Hugh Padgham co-produced the effort along with The Police and captured a layered sound with a lot more instrumentation. It was recorded over nine months, a stark contrast to the four weeks spent recording Zenyatta Mondatta. “Spirits in the Material World” is a brilliantly crafted and slightly dark track that feels off kilter due to Stewart Copeland’s heavy syncopated focus on the upbeat. The chorus offers much needed relief before descending back into the uneasy verse.

“Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” was a huge hit in the US and got a lot of play on MTV, when the network launched in 1981. It peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the UK singles chart. The album is darker and more introspective than previous efforts and boasts great album cuts, including the underrated “Invisible Sun,” “Hungry For You” and “Demolition Man,” a driving rock song with a memorable riff and lengthy guitar solo which brings the track to an epic conclusion. Ghost in the Machine is a musical bridge between the group’s first three efforts, and its final album, Synchronicity, which changed everything.

‘Synchronicity’ (1983)

Synchronicity is the fifth and final album from The Police. It was released in 1983 and is by far the trio’s most successful album, topping the Billboard album chart and selling over eight million copies in the US alone. Everything came together with this album. The group’s perfectly crafted pop songs and music videos for “Synchronicity II,” “King of Pain,” “Wrapped Around Your Finger,” and “Every Breath You Take,” were on high rotation on MTV, rocketing the trio to the stratosphere.

“Every Breath You Take” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks and is by far the most-successful track in the group’s history. The effort won Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group and “Every Breath You Take” won awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Synchronicity has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, which doubles sales figures from the group’s next best-selling effort, Ghost in the Machine. It was released at the height of the band’s fame and is a triumphant conclusion to an extraordinary musical legacy.
