March 21 to April 20
Just over a year ago, Jupiter, the planet of fortune, moved into a more nurturing, family and property-oriented placement. However, at that time, Saturn, the planet of limits, slowed down the benefits it could bring. Ironically, as Jupiter heads to the exit, your ruler, Mars, supercharges it, and finally, in these very areas, the things you first hoped for can come to life.
Today is a fabulous opportunity to share your ideas. They can land well, and people can be responsive to your practicality and desire to get things done. Yet with the Moon briefly going face-to-face with Mars in Taurus, you might get a bit frustrated if things don’t flow as fast as you’d like but do trust you’ll make an impact. Socially, too, things can spark well, Taurus.
Your financial situation has been supported all month, but have you felt the impact? Sometimes our personal cycles don’t quite gel with the heavens as we’d like – usually when we are going through big changes. However, on a project or idea that you have painstakingly and quietly applied yourself to, a breakthrough is possible, and it can prove to be validating.
I wouldn’t say you will feel invincible today; you’d know that would be a stretch. You could though feel invigorated, and this can give you the get-go to take on the day with confidence and determination. With the expansive Jupiter, near to completing his thirteen-month journey through your sign, it can be a fine chance to reflect on what his visit has meant to you.
Soon enough the fabulous energy of the planet of fortune, Jupiter, will move into your sign. His movement through the sign of Cancer has likely given you a much greater appreciation of your own inner resources and the power of healing. With the confident energy of Mars connecting to him today, you can find yourself more comfortable with sharing what you’ve learned.
Your gift is managing processes. You often grapple with details with consummate ease. The planets, however, have been pushing you to broaden your approach and to be more adventurous. Today is a point in case with supportive friendships, travel plans, and exciting new ideas all in the mix. The finer points do still matter, but it’s your vision that counts most.

Whilst the planets can create the conditions for success, it’s what we do that decides the outcome. Some of your ambitions may not have come to pass in the last year, but what has changed is that you have likely fine-tuned what it was that was important to you. And being aligned with this has likely led to some breakthroughs of late, with another possible now.
With the Moon travelling through your sign, it’s a reminder to stay in touch with your personal perspective. There could be one brief pinch point of tension, but it can soon be resolved by the fine vibe between your ruler, Mars, and the noble Jupiter. This can help to forge constructive alliances, sign off on a deal, or firm up a travel plan with a friend or partner.
Although you may feel a little quieter today, you can take great pride in several things you have achieved recently. All sorts of transformations have been occurring at a practical, organisational, physical, and even psychological level. Take time to celebrate these and acknowledge your progress. As the Moon glides into your sign later, know things will speed up.
There’s a fine chance to enjoy yourself today. The key is giving yourself permission to do so. If you have had a busy week, the allure of a quiet night in can be strong, but chances are, if you venture out, you can have a pleasurable time. Friends can be keen to meet up, but if you do have a date night, connecting emotionally can be as powerful as any attraction.
Very soon, two mighty celestial players, Mars and Jupiter, will both end their journeys through less than exciting parts of your horoscope, but will arrive in two very positive arenas. So, if you find yourself caught up in more mundane affairs, even if being productive, do know that by the start of next week, a scintillating new phase will shape up for you, Aquarius.
You can express yourself with additional conviction. And there may also be some lighter, more playful moments. If you sometimes find it harder to put your feelings into words, this will be less of an issue, and if there is someone that you are keen to impress, just let things flow naturally. This is where the North Node in Pisces can help, urging you to trust the process.

Rodríguez addressed the nation on state television channel VTV more than two hours after the quakes.
Prior to that, official information had been very scant, no doubt due to the fact that communication channels to some of the worst affected areas were down. But it is also a result of restrictions placed on independent media under the Maduro government, which have led to the closure of hundreds of mainly local radio stations and news sites, which in the past would have been key to providing localised updates.
Rodríguez was flanked by her brother Jorge, who in his role as president of the National Assembly swore her into office as interim president just days after Maduro was seized, and by Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, another staunch Maduro ally.
Unlike he so often did in the months leading up to the US military intervention, Cabello was not wearing military fatigues. He stood silently next to Rodríguez, as did her brother.
Rodríguez was visibly shaken as she delivered her speech, in which she called “first and foremost” for unity from the Venezuelan people, who for more than a decade have been deeply divided between those who supported Maduro, and his predecessor and mentor Hugo Chávez, and those who opposed him.
She also declared a state of emergency and tasked General Juan Ernesto Sulbarán, the commander of Venezuela’s National Guard, with leading the emergency response.
During the more than a quarter century that Chávez and Maduro were in power, key positions in the government have been held by high-ranking military officers.
Many state ministries have for years been in the hands of generals, and analysts have said that part of the reason why Venezuela’s infrastructure has become so run down is the lack of expertise of those in charge.
Under the watchful eyes of the Trump administration, Rodríguez has recently replaced the general running the ministry of housing with a civilian who has a degree in architecture and the general who headed the electricity ministry with an electrical engineer.
However, years of shortages – exacerbated by US sanctions – and mismanagement have meant that much of the public housing stock in particular has deteriorated.
A shortage of cement, for example, triggered by the collapse of the state-owned cement industry after its nationalisation under Chávez, has meant that badly needed repairs have often not been carried out on buildings and home, making them more prone to collapse.
Claire Walker told Teesside Crown Court how Isabelle Welsh “was the worst [she] had seen her” just a day before she suffered fatal head injuries at her Thornaby home.
The two-year-old’s mother, Alexander Walker, and her new boyfriend, Harrison Simpson, are on trial accused of murder after she suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.
The grandmother’s police recorded interview was played to jurors as evidence in the trial, which is listed to last six weeks.

During the interview, she told detectives Isabelle had suffered a broken leg weeks before she died.

Miss Walker recounted how the toddler looked pale when she visited her daughter but believed she was struggling with a virus.
She said “she was the worst I had seen her” when she visited her the day before Isabelle died.
Miss Walker said Isabelle was also complaining about her stomach hurting but thought it was because she had been ‘throwing up’.
Struggling to contain her emotions during the police interview, she said she “is going to regret it for the rest of her life” that she didn’t take Isabelle to the doctors on that day.

When asked about Isabelle’s health and wellbeing in the weeks leading up to her death, Miss Walker told the officers she spotted a bump on her head, bruising around her spine and a ‘fingerprint’ bruise on her hip.
The jury heard how Isabelle was found unconscious at her home when paramedics were called, and they discovered the two-year-old was “gravely unwell and her heart had stopped beating”.
Dan Ackroyd, Walker’s stepfather, told the police he had tried to perform CPR when he arrived at her home before paramedics took over and managed to restart her heart.
When asked by Mark McKone KC, representing Walker, how she was acting when he arrived at her home, Mr Ackroyd said she was ‘visibly shaking’ and crying.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the toddler died in the early hours of September 14 after suffering a fractured skull and brain damage.
Earlier in the trial, the jury heard how Walker searched online, checking for any information about Simpson being a child sex offender.

The court had heard the pair had only been in a relationship for a few months when Isabelle suffered all of her injuries, including the fatal skull fracture.

Simpson, 22, of Greenham Close in Thorntree, Middlesbrough, and Walker, of Hartington Close in Thornaby, deny murder.
The pair also deny four other charges involving Isabelle, including: causing or allowing the death of a child on September 14; two counts of assault by penetration between September 10 and September 14 last year; and cruelty to a person under 16.
The World Cup is into the business end of the group stage, with a number of teams already seeing their hopes of progress dashed.
An increase from 32 to 48 nations for this summer’s tournament in North America has led to the addition of 24 more games during the first phase, with the top two from each of the 12 four-team groups advancing through to the newly-created round of 32, along with the best eight third-place finishers.
A less well-known but still significant change for this World Cup has been FIFA deciding to use head-to-head records above goal difference as the principal tiebreaker during the group stage.
That means that a number of teams who would previously have gone into the last round of group fixtures still with a slim chance of reaching the knockout rounds now know that they mathematically have no shot.

Here is a list of all the nations that are already definitely out of the 2026 World Cup…
Exits confirmed: Neither Tunisia, Turkey nor Haiti will be going any further at the 2026 World Cup

Which teams are out of World Cup 2026?
The first team whose elimination from the 2026 World Cup was officially confirmed was Group C minnows Haiti, who, appearing on the global stage for only the second time and first since 1974, followed a spirited 1-0 loss to Scotland on opening weekend with a 3-1 defeat by Brazil in Philadelphia on Saturday.
That is despite Paraguay playing a whole half with 10 men after former Newcastle forward Miguel Almiron became the first player to be sent off for covering his mouth while talking to an opponent during a confrontation as part of FIFA’s slew of new rules for this World Cup.
Turkey – quarter-finalists at Euro 2024 but playing at the World Cup for the first time since finishing third in 2002 – registered an incredible 62 shots across their first two matches without scoring, with their shock early exit leading to emotional apologies from the likes of Real Madrid star Arda Guler and throwing Vincenzo Montella’s future as head coach into doubt.
Also out of the tournament are Tunisia, whose 5-1 thrashing by Sweden in their Group F opener led to the sacking of head coach Sabri Lamouchi and the appointment of Herve Renard.
However, that change made no short-term impact as they were then drubbed 4-0 by Japan in Monterrey. Tunisia have exited at the group stage on all seven of their World Cup appearances so far, including the last three tournaments in a row.
Jordan’s World Cup debut will also end at the group stage after their opening 3-1 loss to Austria in Group J was followed by a 2-1 defeat by Algeria in San Francisco.
Panama, who will face England on Saturday night in New York, became the next team eliminated after successive 1-0 losses to Ghana and Croatia, and were followed the following night by Czechia, who finished bottom of Group A after going down 3-0 to co-hosts Mexico to head home with a solitary point to their name.
Qatar’s fate was sealed with a 3-1 loss to Bosnia & Herzegovina, having earlier in the tournament given themselves hope with a last-gasp equaliser against Switzerland.

Curacao’s World Cup debut has also ended at the group stage after losing 2-0 to Ivory Coast.
Emergency services remain at the scene of a police incident on the A4232 heading towards the M4. Drivers were seen attempting to cool off outside their cars on what has been the hottest ever June day in Wales after the crash on Thursday evening.
At 11pm the carriageway between the Leckwith Interchange and A48 Culverhouse Cross remains closed. The police did say earlier that the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
The police have urged drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

A statement from South Wales Police said: “Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A4232 Cardiff. The southbound carriageway is closed at Culverhouse Cross. Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
Councillor for Caerau Peter Bradbury wrote online: “There is currently a police incident on the A4232 between Leckwith and Culverhouse Cross. The road is currently closed at Leckwith whilst emergency services are in attendance.
“Further information when available. The road is expected to be closed for some time.”

Morrisons has issued an urgent recall on a fan-favourite pasta product due to an undeclared allergen risk

An urgent recall notice has been issued for a popular pasta product sold at Morrisons over an undeclared allergen risk, according to the UK Food Standards Agency.
The supermarket is pulling its Coronation Chicken Pasta from shelves after it emerged that some packs may contain Florida Salad, which includes milk that is not listed on the packaging.

This means the product poses a potential health risk to anyone suffering from an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. The specific batch affected weighs 230g, carries an expiry date of June 30, 2026, and has the batch code GBB 584 031.
Shoppers who have purchased the product and have a milk allergy or intolerance are urged not to eat it and to return it to their nearest store immediately.
The Food Standards Agency has issued a recall notice stating: “Morrisons is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
For full details on all product recalls, the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites are trustworthy sources of information.
In addition, recall notices should be prominently displayed in stores where a product has been withdrawn from sale, reports Chronicle Live.

As the 2026World Cup moves through its third game week, teams are starting to secure their spot in the knockout rounds.
12 teams have made it to the round of 32 – which is a new round of games due to the 48-team expansion of this World Cup – so there are still 20 spaces up for grabs.
Another change this tournament is how the group tables work: they are decided on head-to-head results, rather than goal difference, so several teams secured their place as group winners after only two games.
Here’s who has booked their knockout-stage spot…
Advertisement
Which teams have qualified for the knockouts?
Co-hosts Mexico won Group A and qualified for the last-32 with ease after winning all three of their World Cup group games for the first time in their history. They kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 win over South Africa, before narrowly beating South Korea 1-0 to secure their status as group winners. For their final game they handily beat Czechia 3-0. Their round-of-32 game is on Tuesday, June 30 at the Azteca Stadium against one the eight best third-placed teams from Group C, E, F, H or I.
Fellow co-hosts USA started with a surprise 4-1 thrashing of Paraguay – thanks to a Folarin Balogun double – before a comfortable 2-0 victory over Australia secured their status as Group D winners. Their final game against already-eliminated Turkey on Friday is a dead rubber, so expect wholesale changes. Their round-of-32 game is on Wednesday, July 1, in San Francisco against one of the eight best third-placed teams from Group B, E, F, I or J.
Surprise package: Folarin Balogun has three goals at this World Cup

Germany, managed by Julian Nagelsmann, were the biggest winners of the first gameweek with a 7-1 win over Curacao, but needed a late Denis Undav goal to squeeze past Ivory Coast 2-1 and win Group E. Their last game, against Ecuador, takes place tonight. Their round-of-32 match is Monday, June 29, in Boston – they play one of the eight best third-placed teams from Group A, B, C, D or F.
Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick inArgentina’s 3-0 opening win and a double in the 2-0 victory over Austria to move him top of the World Cup scoring charts on 18 goals and win Group J with a game to spare. They play already-eliminated Jordan on Sunday in another dead rubber. Their round-of-32 is on Friday, July 3 in Miami when they play Group H runners-up. This, as it stands, is Uruguay, who face Spain in their last game.

France opened their campaign with a frenetic 3-1 win over Senegal, before comfortably beating Iraq 3-0, with Kylian Mbappe scoring a brace in both and moving to 16 World Cup goals – just two behind Messi. They have qualified for the round-of-32, but their place as Group I winners is not confirmed yet: they are yet to play their final group opponent…
…which is Norway, who are at the World Cup after a 28-year absence. They swatted away Iraq 4-1 and beat Senegal 3-2 in a topsy-turvy affair to reach the knockouts. Like Mbappe, Erling Haaland scored a brace in each to mark his debut World Cup. Their final match is against France, in a winner-takes-all clash for top spot.
Colombia may have emerged as another contender to go very far in North America. 3-1 winners in their opening Group K game against Uzbekistan, they followed that up with a 1-0 win over DR Congo to seal a place in the knockout stage. Avoid defeat against Portugal in the final group game and they will progress as winners.
Breakout star: Yohan Manzambi, 20, has scored three goals for Switzerland

Murat Yakin’s side Switzerland have won Group B after defeating co-hosts Canada 2-1, following on from a draw with Qatar and victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina. Their round-of-32 opponent will be against a third-placed team from Group E, F, G, I or J in Vancouver on Thursday, July 2.
Co-hosts Canada drew with Bosnia and thrashed Qatar 6-0, but the 2-1 loss to the Swiss in their final game means they failed to secure a home draw for their last-32 match. They will play their knockout in Los Angeles (instead of Vancouver) against South Africa on Saturday, June 28. This is the first time the Maple Leafs have ever reached the knockout rounds.
Bosnia & Herzegovina are through as one of the eight best third-placed teams thanks to a draw with Canada and 3-1 victory over Qatar. Their opponent and date of last-32 match is unconfirmed: teams yet to play their final game, so the third-place table is still in flux.
Past and present: Neymar and Vinicius Junior

Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazilbeat Group C opponents Scotland in a comfortable 3-0 win, as Vinicius Junior scored a brace and Neymar made his first appearance at this World Cup. The Selecao qualified as group winners, so their knockout game is in Houston on Sunday, June 29 against the Group F runners-up. This is currently Japan.
Morocco were almost shocked by already-eliminated Haiti, but eventually secured a 4-2 win to finish runners-up to Brazil, after a draw with the five-times winners and a 1-0 victory over the Scots. They face the Group F winners – currently the Netherlands.
South Africa have qualified to the knockouts for the first time in their history: they looked set to head home late on against Czechia, but that 1-1 draw and shock 1-0 over South Korea puts them through as runners-up in Group A behind Mexico. Bafana Bafana are confirmed to be facing Canada on Saturday, June 28 in Los Angeles.
Ivory Coast are also into the World Cup knockout stages for the very first time after beating Curacao and they have been joined by Ecuador after they came from behind to beat Germany and qualify as one of the best third-placed teams.
Archie McPherson has covered six World Cups for the BBC and was highly critical of the performance of the current team.
19:31, 25 Jun 2026Updated 19:59, 25 Jun 2026
Legendary Scots broadcaster and football commentator Archie McPherson has slated Scotland’s performances at this year’s World Cup describing them as “the worst ever”
In a series of blistering comments McPherson said the current team had insulted the memory of great players of the past.
He made the remarks following Scotland’s 3-0 defeat to Brazil in Miami adding that they had “no right” to be there.
McPherson, 89, covered Scotland’s participation in six World Cups between 1974 and 1998 for the BBC.
In a social media post the former Sportscene presenter said: “The Scotland side I saw being comfortably beaten by the Brazilians last night is the worst ever to have represented our country at the World Cup.
“Yes, we had disappointments in the past, which I closely witnessed six times through the years.
“But the almost feverish efforts to equate our presence in the States as being of potential historical significance invested qualities in Clarke’s side they simply did not possess.
“That was evident in every single game. But not only that , it was blindly ignoring the detailed reasons why we failed in the past in that special tournament.
“Thus insulting the memory of some our great players like Dalglish, Jordan, Bremner, Gemmill etc.
“We had our faults certainly. But never did I feel ,as I did last night, that this Scotland team were simply trespassers with no authentic right to be there.”
In the 1996 film adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s cult novel Trainspotting Macpherson re-voiced his commentary of Archie Gemmill’s famous goal for Scotland against the Netherlands at the 1978 World Cup as a sex scene.
A public-spirited van driver pulled over to offer armed Kent Police officers a lift during a dramatic chase in Margate, helping them apprehend a suspect wanted in connection with a serious assault. The incredible moment was caught on officers’ body-worn cameras.

Remarkable footage has captured the moment an ordinary member of the public played a pivotal role in helping armed officers apprehend a suspect in Margate.
The van driver who provided the spontaneous lift to armed officers during the pursuit in Thanet, Kent, has since been widely praised for his actions.
The gripping footage, recorded on police body cameras, opens with the shout: “armed police, stay where you are.”
Armed officers from Kent Police had been responding to reports of a serious assault when a wanted suspect managed to slip away and fled on foot, heading towards Tivoli Road.
Footage from one officer’s body-worn camera captures the moment the van driver pulled over to assist the armed officers in their pursuit of the fleeing suspect.
As he drew up alongside them, the driver told the officer: “Get in the back.”
The officer obliged and leapt into the black minivan, leaving the sliding door ajar to guide his impromptu chauffeur.
The officer can be heard shouting: “Go, go, go! Cheers buddy. Follow that police officer.”
As the driver accelerated in the direction of the officer still pursuing the suspect on foot, the policeman continued to bark instructions, urging him to overtake both the fleeing man and his colleague.
The driver brought the vehicle to a sharp halt when ordered to stop, allowing the officer sufficient time to get ahead of and corner the fleeing suspect. The armed officer then leapt from the vehicle, trained his weapon on the suspect and made the arrest.
The driver, who has not been named, stood nearby watching the dramatic scene play out before him, before officers showed their appreciation with a firm handshake.
The van driver said: “I am just glad I could be of service. That was quite exhilarating.”
Following the dramatic arrest, Kent Police’s Armed Policing Superintendent Will Lay paid tribute to the unnamed man for his vital role in the operation.
“Thanks to the quick and selfless actions of this responsible and public-spirited driver, officers were able to apprehend the dangerous individual,” Supt Lay said.
“The successful arrest may not have been possible without the member of the public and his vehicle.
“He should feel proud of his contribution to keeping his community safe, and we are truly grateful for his assistance.”
