Classic Victor Mountjoy Set for Stakes Assignment in 2026

Whatever Mountjoy achieves for the remainder of the current campaign will be viewed as a bonus, but the Ballarat filly is being given her opportunity for a lucrative Stakes victory this Saturday in Adelaide.

The Henry Dwyer-trained two-year-old is scheduled to contest the $120,000 David Peacock Oaklands Plate (1400m) on the Morphettville Parks circuit.

Mountjoy was prepared for the $125,000 Elvstroem Classic (1300m) at Swan Hill earlier this month, an event in which she emerged as the narrow but impressive victor over Fontein Jewel. Dwyer commented that the chance for Listed success while the filly was in such formidable form was too compelling to pass up.

“The horse she beat at Swan Hill came out and won at Flemington the other day, so her form is good,” Dwyer said.

“She can definitely run a place, if not win, and she’s a well-bred filly that would be worth plenty if she could win over there.”

Mountjoy is a progeny of Street Boss and the Redoute’s Choice mare Lorne, whom Dwyer acquired for NZ$150,000 at last year’s Karaka Yearling Sale.

Dwyer initially had ambitions for Mountjoy to compete in the Karaka Millions, but a setback prevented this. Nevertheless, she could be poised for a trip to the same meeting next year if she performs admirably on Saturday.

“We’re going pretty deep into the winter with her running this week and I reckon she probably wants a decent break, so we might even try to get her over to New Zealand for the Karaka Millions three-year-old race,” he said.

“We wanted to get her there for the two-year-old race, but we might just be a year behind.”

Mountjoy is not Dwyer’s solitary hope in the Oaklands Plate, with And There You Go, a daughter of Hellbent who finished third at her sole start at Donald, set to accompany her to Adelaide.

“She surprised us a little bit running so well, it was an open-age maiden and she got home pretty well and nearly won,” Dwyer said.

“I think that’s more than enough to go against those two-year-olds over there, so it wouldn’t surprise if she was to run a placing.”

And There You Go drew the more favourable barrier of Dwyer’s pair, securing gate four, whereas Mountjoy will commence from the outside alley in the 14-horse field.

The Adelaide-based Price brothers have been engaged to ride Dwyer’s fillies, with Will Price assigned to Mountjoy and Ben Price to And There You Go.

Ireland created history on Friday by defeating India for the first time in international cricket, securing a memorable 34-run victory in the opening T20I at Stormont in Belfast. The result came as a major surprise, considering India entered the series as the reigning T20 World Cup champions under new captain Shreyas Iyer. The unexpected result also drew a reaction from former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who expressed his shock on social media. “Wow. Didn’t thought I will see this Scoreline of team India vs Ireland. Well Played Ireland,” Pathan wrote on X after the match. After being asked to bat first, Ireland posted a competitive total of 182/9. Captain Lorcan Tucker led from the front with a well-made 50 off 36 balls, while Gareth Delany chipped in with 49 off 32 deliveries. The hosts then produced a disciplined bowling performance to bowl India out for 148 in 18.5 overs. Debutant Matt Hollard starred with figures of 3/28 in four overs and was named Player of the Match, while fellow newcomer Jai Moondra also played a key role in restricting the visitors. For India, Harshit Rana picked up 3/24, while Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 50 off 20 balls was the lone bright spot in the chase.Ireland captain Lorcan Tucker hailed the significance of the victory after the match. “It was like a Test match for a bit. I think it’s pretty special to beat the world champions at home. Credit to the lads. All the work behind the scenes from Cricket Ireland,” he said.Meanwhile, India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted his team fell short but remained optimistic ahead of the second T20I. “Initially, the bowlers were bowling venom. But in between we lost the execution and let them hit us straight down the ground, where the boundaries are smaller. I thought 140 would have been a good score to chase, given the start we had with the ball. But yeah, great start as a captain. Definitely, we are going to forget what happened and there’s a lot to learn from this game. Going to come out all guns blazing in the next game,” Iyer said.

In collaboration with Eagles Autism Foundation, Jason Kelce held his fundraiser competition, the Kelce Beer Bowl, on Thursday at Ocean Drive in New Jersey. This year’s event turned special since it was Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, behind the bar counter. The podcaster showed off her bartending skills shortly after throwing a beer shot at the Eagles icon.

In the latest episode of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast released on the same day, the mother of four participated in a fun couple challenge. The challenge was mostly for Jason, who had his beer knowledge tested with each shot Kylie threw at his face. Explaining the game to him, the podcaster said:

“So, you literally stand there, and then I would throw a drink, and you would basically like it would hit you, and as it hits you, you would guess what it is.” [Timestamp: 48:23]

Even though Jason was struggling to find the exact name of the first drink thrown at him, he eventually ended up recognizing it as Garage Beer in lime flavor. It’s the same brand that he has invested in alongside his brother, Travis Kelce. Moving forward in the game, Kylie threw seven different shots at Jason, ranging from red wine to pickle juice, and he guessed five of them.

While fans enjoyed the podcast, Kylie accompanied Jason to the fundraiser event. In a viral video, the podcaster was seen slow dancing to Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” while taking care of her bartending duties.

Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie Kelce revealed 1 career path she has been least interested in

Amid active collaborations between many wives and girlfriends of NFL athletes with Sports Illustrated magazine, fans have been curious about Kylie Kelce’s interest in becoming a swimsuit model. In her podcast episode 68 from May 21, she made it clear that she has no interest in pursuing a career in swimsuit modeling.

Shedding light on her reason behind this choice, Kylie said:

“Queen Emma (her podcast producer) tried to ask if it was the top 10 place I had no business being in. I would almost say it’s top three. And I think it goes without saying that if I don’t like having my photo taken clothed. I’m probably not going to like my photo taken naked.”

Kylie’s parenting techniques have often been endorsed by many celebrities. Recently, Kevin Hart doubled down on the podcaster’s take on restricting her daughters’ dating choices.
