Wednesday’s Workwear Report: Soft Fit & Flare Shirtdress
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
The print on this this shirtdress from Talbots is one of my favorites of the season. The colors are lovely, and the paisley pattern is gorgeous.
Normally, I’d swap out the tie belt for something more substantial, but this one is so nice, I think I’d keep it.
The dress is $179 at Talbots and comes in sizes 2-18.

Vida Glow Collagen Review: Is It Worth It?
An honest, in-depth review of Vida Glow collagen supplements covering ingredients, results, taste and whether the price tag is justified for anyone serious about skin health.

The ingestible beauty market has grown rapidly in recent years, and with it has come a wave of brands promising transformative results from a daily supplement. Among them, Vida Glow collagen supplements have emerged as a standout. But does the science stack up, and are they truly worth the investment? After reviewing the formulations, examining the clinical evidence and considering the experiences of long-term users, the verdict is more nuanced, and ultimately more positive, than you might expect.
The Product Overview
Vida Glow’s core range centres on their Natural Marine Collagen powder, available in original unflavoured and a range of lightly flavoured varieties. Each serve delivers a clinical dose of hydrolysed marine collagen peptides, sourced from deep-sea fish. The molecular weight of the peptides is intentionally kept low to maximise absorption through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream.
Beyond the hero product, the brand offers a growing range of advanced formulas that combine collagen with complementary actives such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, niacinamide and ceramides. These are designed for those who want a more targeted approach to specific concerns such as deep hydration, skin clarity or early ageing.
The Ingredient Quality
Marine collagen is considered the gold standard in ingestible beauty, and Vida Glow uses a premium grade sourced from sustainably caught deep-sea fish. The hydrolysis process ensures the collagen is broken into peptides small enough to pass through the gut lining and enter systemic circulation. This matters because intact collagen protein does not survive digestion intact and must be hydrolysed to be bioavailable.
The formulas are free from artificial colours, flavours and unnecessary fillers. The brand is transparent about its sourcing and testing processes, which is reassuring in a category where quality control can vary widely between manufacturers.
The Taste and Texture
One of the most common concerns with collagen powders is that they affect the taste or texture of whatever you add them to. Vida Glow’s unflavoured formula dissolves cleanly and completely in both hot and cold liquids without any discernible taste or gritty residue. This makes it genuinely easy to add to a morning coffee, smoothie, or even just warm water with lemon.
The flavoured options, such as mango and watermelon, are pleasant rather than overpowering, and many users prefer them mixed with sparkling water as a daily ritual that feels more indulgent than functional. The texture is consistent and there is no clumping, which is often a problem with lower-quality collagen powders.
The Results
Most users report noticeable improvements in skin hydration and texture within four to six weeks of consistent daily use. By the two to three month mark, the more structural changes tend to become apparent: improved skin firmness, reduced appearance of fine lines, and a general sense that the skin looks healthier and more refreshed. Hair shedding decreases for many users, and nails tend to grow faster and with less breakage.
These experiences are consistent with the clinical evidence. According to Medical News Today’s review of collagen supplements, studies have found that oral collagen supplementation can improve skin elasticity, hydration and density over periods of four to twelve weeks, with effects most pronounced in women over 35.
The Value Proposition
Vida Glow sits at the premium end of the collagen supplement market, and the price reflects the quality of the marine collagen sourcing and formulation. When compared to the cost of professional skincare treatments, injectables or even high-end topical serums, the daily cost of a collagen supplement is modest. The key is committing to consistent use over at least two to three months to see the full benefit.
What the Science Says
Harvard Health has examined whether collagen supplements live up to their claims and notes that some well-designed trials do show meaningful improvements in skin quality. Their article, Do collagen supplements fulfill their promises?, is a useful reference for anyone approaching supplementation with healthy scepticism. The consensus is that quality matters, dosage matters, and consistency matters most of all.
The Verdict
Vida Glow collagen supplements earn their reputation. The ingredient quality is genuine, the formulations are well-designed, and the results are consistent with both user reports and clinical research. If you are looking for a beauty supplement that does what it claims, supports your skin from within, and integrates seamlessly into your daily routine, Vida Glow is worth every penny. Just commit to the process, give it time, and let the results speak for themselves.

The Bright Side of Black and White
Outfit Details:
Eterne Bodysuit, Johanna Ortiz Skirt, K.Jacques x Ciao Lucia Sandals, Chanel Bag & Necklace (similar here, less expensive here), Irene Neuwirth Earrings (similar, less expensive here)
Whenever I’m getting dressed, I’m thinking about the styling touches that make a look feel like mine. Not the expected additions, but the ones that add personality and give an outfit its point of interest. When the starting point is black and white, that just means there’s even more of a canvas to play with color. It leaves so much room for the accessories to stand on their own and really pack a punch.
Even when a piece is mainly neutral, I still want it to carry a sense of drama, whether that comes through the cut or the pattern. From there it’s about balance. If I’m wearing a bold, brightly-colored necklace, I’ll pair it with a clean black top so that every standout moment in the outfit has space to shine. The contrast of black and white together gives every saturated hue even more impact. It may start as a classic pairing, but the accessories are how I make it unmistakably my own.

Can You Wear Shorts to Work?
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
The other day, the New York Times had a quick video on “how to elevate a classic white tee,” a story that we’ve also done here at Corporette. But I was taken aback by her suggestion for an “office look”: tailored shorts… with a sweater wrapped around her waist, which she describes as “a nice accessory that adds a bit of contrast.”

Now, our focus here at Corporette has always been for more conservative offices — but I was still surprised that a) she featured pants elsewhere in the video! and b) shorts + sweater-around-waist was the only “nice office look” she could come up with.
(Honestly, I even raised an eyebrow at the sweater tied around the waist in the first shot, where it looks like she’s wearing a skirt!)

So, the questions for you:
- can you wear shorts to your office?
- for your office, would a sweater wrapped around your waist be an OK look?
- if yes to both (or either), are there any business casual rules that you recognize or have been told?

Irish Fashion Designers On A Global Stage
Irish fashion designers are rapidly gaining global recognition, with a new wave of talent shaping the future of luxury and couture. From major fashion houses to international runways, designers from Ireland are blending heritage craftsmanship with modern creativity, making a powerful impact on the global fashion industry.
A new generation of innovative Irish creators is leading the way, including JW Anderson at Dior, Simone Rocha, and Standing Ground.
Jonathan Anderson
In 2025, Jonathan Anderson was appointed Creative Director at Dior for womenswear, menswear, and haute couture, following his tenure at Loewe and at his own eponymous, much sought-after label, JW Anderson. His debut Dior collections have been widely applauded for evolving the house’s heritage.
This week, he announced that the Fall 2027 show will take place in the Long Room at Trinity College Dublin in December.
“Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true,” said Anderson. “I began my career in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal.”
It marks a full-circle moment for the Irish designer from Magherafelt in Derry.
Simone Rocha
Simone Rocha is one of the most influential Irish voices in contemporary fashion, known for her signature combination of femininity and romance. In June 2026, Rocha was invited to the 110th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence, becoming one of the few women and the first Irish designer to receive such a high distinction.
Here, Rocha presented her Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection, which showcased a tender and romantic vision of masculinity. This marked a major milestone in her career, as it was her first independent men’s runway show.
Standing Ground
Earlier this month, Standing Ground showcased its Autumn/Winter 2026/2027 collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. The collection featured distinctive sculptural corsetry, intricate beadwork, and architectural drapery. One of the standout pieces was a showstopping gown constructed from traditional Irish Carrickmacross lace, handcrafted by 26 artisans.
The project was a collaboration between Irish couturier Michael Stewart of Standing Ground and Monaghan-based lace artisans, with designer-educator Natalie B. Coleman coordinating and facilitating. It was funded by Design & Crafts Council Ireland, with support from The Heritage Council.
Standing Ground’s haute couture showcase at the Irish Embassy in Paris cemented Michael Stewart’s place in couture.

A Little Texture Between Prints
Rosewater House Vest (sold out, similar here), Sea NY Pants (sold out, similar here), Manolo Blahnik Heels, Chanel Bag, Irene Neuwrith Necklace (similar, less expensive here), Hermes Scarf (similar here)
My favorite outfit equation usually starts with print, and then I use texture to add dimension. It gives a patterned look somewhere to land, something you notice after the color, so your eye travels through the mix instead of getting lost in it. In an outfit packed with color, something tactile makes the whole thing feel more considered, almost a resting point that lets you take in one vibrant pattern before moving on to the next.
Valentino Shirt, Gwen Bra Top, Alemais Pants (more sizes here, matching top here), Dries Van Noten Wedges, Savette Bag (more colors), Jenna Blake Elephant Pendant
That is also why texture works so well when you want to lean further into print. The right piece can move between patterns without every shade lining up exactly, which keeps a busy look feeling connected rather than competing with itself.
