Dave Bautista In Talks To Replace Ryan Hurst As Kratos

Published

on

After previously missing out on playing the titular “God of War” character, Dave Bautista is reportedly back in contention for the role.

According to reports, the actor is now in discussions to take on the part after the previous lead, Ryan Hurst, suffered a serious injury that forced the show’s producers to recast.

Bautista has yet to confirm whether talks are underway, but fans are already expressing excitement over the possibility of seeing him step into the iconic character.

Ever since the “God of War” series was announced in 2022, speculation has surrounded which actor would take on the beloved video game character Kratos.

Dave Bautista was among the names frequently linked to the role, alongside Christopher Judge, who voices Kratos in the video game series. However, the part ultimately went to “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” star Ryan Hurst in January 2026.

That casting decision has now been revisited after Hurst suffered a torn biceps while filming a stunt in June. The injury forced the show’s producers to recast the role because his recovery timeline no longer aligned with the production schedule.

According to Variety, Bautista is now in discussions to take over the role while filming remains paused. Although it is unclear how far negotiations have progressed, a decision is expected soon, with production reportedly aiming to resume in the fall.

Bautista Still Fits The Kratos Mold

In the video game series, Kratos is portrayed as a towering, heavily muscular warrior with a broad frame, powerful arms, and a battle-hardened physique built for strength and endurance.

Bautista had a similar build during his WWE career, leading many fans to believe he was the perfect choice when the series was first announced. While the actor has since slimmed down to pursue a broader range of Hollywood roles, he remains in excellent physical condition and could regain the muscle needed for the part.

The decision to enter talks with Bautista also suggests the show’s producers see him as a strong fit for the iconic character. However, the actor has yet to publicly confirm whether negotiations are taking place.

If Bautista lands the role, he would be expected to portray Kratos across at least the two seasons already ordered by Amazon Prime Video.

Both seasons are expected to adapt the two most recent “God of War” games, which follow Kratos as he raises his 10-year-old son, Atreus, while confronting the gods of the Norse pantheon.

“Father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human,” the official logline reads.

Atreus is currently portrayed by Callum Vinson, the young actor known for the latest installment of the “Chucky” franchise. However, the role is expected to be recast for the second season due to the time jump in the games.

Following the reports, fans have shared mixed reactions to the possibility of Bautista replacing Hurst as Kratos.

Some questioned whether it would be worth the actor undergoing another dramatic body transformation to match the character’s imposing physique.

“So after going on his dieting and self-healing journey, they’ll have him on steroids again?” one user asked.

Others were enthusiastic about the potential casting, even as they acknowledged the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Hurst’s injury.

“It sucks that Ryan had to give up the role (I do think he would have put a lot of effort in & done great), but I’d be lying if I said I don’t prefer Bautista as Kratos,” another fan wrote.

With Bautista now seemingly back in contention for the role, it appears the show’s producers are no longer considering Christopher Judge to play Kratos.

Judge has not responded publicly to reports linking Bautista to the role. However, he previously suggested he would rather see another actor portray the live-action version of the character.

“Don’t get me wrong, I think @DaveBautista is great, but…,” Judge wrote in a 2023 post on X when early speculation about the series first surfaced.

10 Greatest Historical Adventure Movies of All Time

Published

on

Odysseus and his crew in 'The Odyssey'

Demanding monumental and period-accurate productions while also incorporating lively stories of momentum, excitement, and, in some cases, dramatic gravitas, historical adventure movies mark a high point of filmmaking prowess and cinematic exuberance. The very best of them stand not only as rollicking and entertaining feats of the form, but as some of the most iconic and universally adored movies ever made.

Ranging from grueling voyages set in ancient times to jovial tales of rebellion, tyranny, and bravery in the Middle Ages, and even globe-trotting blockbusters set in slightly more recent times, these historical adventure classics illustrate the genre’s majesty and might. From modern sensations to enduring classics of Old Hollywood, all of them are essential viewing for all who love a production of ambition and awe, and a movie of astonishment, amazement, and adventurous bravado.

‘The Odyssey’ (2026)

Time will tell whether recency bias has played a role in The Odyssey’s immediate sensationalism or if it is genuinely one of the greatest historical adventure epics ever made. However, given the next most recent film to feature on this list was released in 2000, it is fair to say Christopher Nolan’s latest movie scratches an itch many moviegoers haven’t scratched for a very long time. An adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, it follows Odysseus (Matt Damon) and his soldiers as they venture home after the Trojan War, clashing with mythic beasts and deadly obstacles on the voyage.

In true Nolan fashion, The Odyssey excels as a spectacle of palpable realism that leaves viewers stupefied and amazed. Sequences like the encounter with the Cyclops Polyphemus (Bill Irwin), the meeting with the deceitful witch Circe (Samantha Morton), and the depiction of the invasion of Troy are astonishing for their craft, scale, and detail. Complimented by the IMAX cinematography, absorbing production design, and the sheer brilliance of the ensemble cast, The Odyssey is a grueling adventure that immerses viewers in the mythos of Ancient Greece.

‘The Man Who Would Be King’ (1975)

Not only a rollicking historical adventure, but something of an underrated gem of epic cinema as well, The Man Who Would Be King enthralls viewers in its playful tone while depicting a subdued thematic observation of the impact of imperialism. Starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine, it follows two former British soldiers exploring India in the 1880s when they discover Kafiristan. Received as kings and even gods, the two men begin to settle into a new lifestyle of power and luxury, but their opportunistic ambition soon leads to greater issues.

Masterfully handled by veteran director John Huston and based on Rudyard Kipling’s esteemed short story, The Man Who Would Be King strikes an impeccable balance between inviting viewers on the gleeful escapades of the two leads and serving as a cautionary tale of power, manipulation, and colonialist hubris. Anchored by the brilliance of Connery and Caine as two charismatic scoundrels, the somewhat forgotten historical adventure movie captures both the delight and darkness the genre can represent.

‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ (2000)

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - 2000 (2) Image via Sony Pictures Classics

Adding in elements of intensely stylized martial arts action and evocative romantic drama to its sublime historical adventure story, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon delivers a spellbinding spectacle of Hong Kong cinema that became an immediate global phenomenon. Set in 18th century Imperial China, it unfolds as two dutiful and diligent warriors find themselves facing their greatest challenge when the legendary Greed Destiny sword is stolen, and they set out to find the thief who took it.

This deep-seated exploration of honor and repression casts its emotionally resonant tale of forbidden romance against the stunning backdrop of Qing dynasty China. The film features both the intellectual marrow and the visual brilliance that defines the greatness of so many adventure epics. Bolstered by Ang Lee’s direction, which deftly blends Asian ideas with Western storytelling sensitivities to perfection, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a captivating masterclass in historical adventure cinema.

‘Braveheart’ (1995)

One of the most emotionally rousing movies of all time, Braveheart uses the injustice of its historical setting to deliver an evocative tale of rebellion, tragedy, bravery, and, of course, freedom that remains one of the most iconic pictures ever made. Directed by and starring Mel Gibson, it follows William Wallace, a Scottish warrior who sets out to battle the English and defy the rule of King Edward I (Patrick McGoohan) following the murder of his wife.

Its tale of lost love and vengeance marries beautifully with its gritty underdog edge. The movie has a feverish and maddening intensity that endows every grueling combat sequence with extraordinary gravitas and makes emboldened speeches feel all the more powerful. While the accuracy of its historical details sometimes leaves something to be desired, Braveheart still presents an eruption of emotional catharsis, poignant tragedy, and hard-edged, blue-faced heroism that is utterly impossible to resist.

The Academy Has Decided
Your Perfect Film Is…

Your answers have pointed to one Oscar Best Picture winner above all others. This is the film that was made for the way your mind works.

Parasite

You are drawn to films that operate on multiple levels simultaneously — that begin in one genre and quietly, brilliantly migrate into another. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is a film about class, desire, and the architecture of inequality that manages to be darkly funny, deeply suspenseful, and genuinely shocking across a single extraordinary running time. Your instinct is for cinema that hides its true intentions until the moment it’s ready to reveal them. Parasite is exactly that — a film that rewards close attention and punishes assumptions, right up to its devastating final image.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

You want it all — and this film gives you all of it. The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the most maximalist films ever made: action comedy, multiverse sci-fi, family drama, existential crisis, and a genuinely earned emotional core that sneaks up on you amid the chaos. You are someone who responds to ambition, who doesn’t want cinema to choose between being entertaining and being meaningful. This film refuses that choice entirely. It is overwhelming by design, and its overwhelming nature is precisely the point — because the feeling of being crushed by infinite possibility is exactly what it’s about.

Oppenheimer

You are drawn to cinema on a grand scale — films that understand history not as a backdrop but as a force, and that place their characters inside that force and watch what happens. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is a film about the terrifying gap between what we can do and what we should do, told with the full weight of one of the most consequential moments in human history behind it. You want your films to feel important without feeling self-important — to earn their ambition through sheer craft and the gravity of their subject. Oppenheimer does exactly that. It is enormous, complicated, and refuses easy comfort.

Birdman

You are drawn to films that foreground their own construction — that make the how of the filmmaking part of the what it’s about. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, shot to appear as a single continuous take, is cinema examining itself through the cracked mirror of a fading actor’s ego. You respond to formal daring, to the feeling that a film is doing something that probably shouldn’t be possible. Michael Keaton’s performance and Emmanuel Lubezki’s restless camera create something genuinely unlike anything else — a film that is simultaneously about creativity, relevance, self-destruction, and the impossibility of ever truly knowing if your work means anything at all.

No Country for Old Men

You are drawn to cinema that trusts silence, that refuses to explain itself, and that treats dread as a form of meaning. The Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men is a film about the arrival of a new kind of evil — implacable, arbitrary, and utterly indifferent to the moral frameworks we use to make sense of the world. It is one of the most formally controlled films ever made, and its controlled restraint is what makes it so terrifying. You want your films to haunt you, not comfort you. You are not interested in resolution if resolution would be dishonest. No Country for Old Men is honest in a way that most cinema never dares to be.

‘The Adventures of Robin Hood’ (1938)

Errol Flynn as Robin Hood in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)

The folklore and fantasy surrounding Robin Hood at large has effectively been adopted by cinema over the past century, with everything from dramatic epics like 2010’s Robin Hood to hysterical comedies like Robin Hood: Men in Tights repurposing the legendary tale to their own style. Still, the very best version of the story to have graced the screen is 1938’s The Adventures of Robin Hood, a quirky and camp affair given tremendous effervescence by its swashbuckling excitement, dazzling Technicolor vibrancy, and delightful ensemble cast. Errol Flynn stars as Sir Robin of Locksley, a Saxon noble who defies the scheming of Prince John (Claude Rains) and Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone) while stealing from the rich and catching the attention of Maid Marion (Olivia de Havilland). Almost 90 years on from its release, the vivacious and fun-loving picture remains a highlight of adventurous bravado in cinema, an infectious and inviting romp of heroics and hijinks that is perhaps even more endearing today than it was when it was released in 1938.

5

‘Barry Lyndon’ (1975)

A group of men sitting together in Barry Lyndon
A passed out Barry Lyndon (Ryan O’Neal) sits slouched in a chair as the remnants of the prior night’s party murmur behind him and, before him, stands the displeased Lord Bullingdon (Leon vitali) in ‘Barry Lyndon’ (1975).
Image via Warner Bros.

It would be easy to mount a case that Barry Lyndon is the greatest film Stanley Kubrick made in his illustrious career. Its breathtaking imagery continues to earn widespread reverence to this day. Inspired by 18th-century paintings, the visuals capture the sheer scale of Redmond Barry’s (Ryan O’Neal) auspicious and opportunistic venture across war-torn Europe. The 185-minute-long rise-and-fall story is viewed by some as being laborious and tiresome, likely because Barry himself doesn’t inspire a wealth of sympathy as a morally questionable and otherwise unspectacular man driven to join society’s elite.

However, viewers who can get on board with the sprawling, swaying story of fortune, shifting circumstances, and doggedly driven adventure are treated to what is arguably the most astounding visual experience in cinematic history. Also complemented by the music of German composer George Frideric Handel and Kubrick’s typically magnificent direction, Barry Lyndon represents historical adventure at its most overwhelming.

4

‘Gladiator’ (2000)

Russell Crowe as Maximus yelling in the arena "Are you not entertained!?!", in Gladiator
Russell Crowe stars as Maximus in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator.
Image via Universal Pictures

Ranging from revisionist Westerns to period war films like the aforementioned Braveheart, historical adventure epics experienced a dramatic resurgence through the 1990s and into the 2000s. Perhaps the best of this turn-of-the-century trend is Ridley Scott’s enrapturing swords-and-sandals revenge epic, Gladiator. It follows a betrayed Roman soldier fighting in arenas across the Roman Empire with the intention of making it to the colosseum where he can confront Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), the man who ordered the killing of his family.

Emotionally charged and flaunting an alluring sense of spectacle and intensity, Gladiator is a noteworthy highlight of Scott’s esteemed career. Its narrative scale and visual prowess work in tandem with its piercing emotional vigor to make for one of the most spellbinding and stirring epics in Hollywood history. Complimented by an array of exceptional performances, Hans Zimmer’s phenomenal score, and its balance of action ferocity with weighted, dramatic poignancy, Gladiator is the defining masterpiece of the 21st century.

3

‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ (1981)

Indiana Jones thinking about seizing a gold statue in the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

The rush of historical adventure is bolstered by the frantic intensity of action blockbuster spectacle in Raiders of the Lost Ark, one of the defining triumphs of Hollywood wonder in the 1980s, and one of the most iconic titles in the context of Steven Spielberg’s astonishing career. Set in 1936, it follows American archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) as he races against the Nazis to find the Ark of the Covenant, with the U.S. government fearing how the Third Reich would abuse the power of the biblical artifact were it to come into their possession.

Timelessly fun as it seamlessly glides from one heart-racing action sequence to another, the film excites with its relentless pacing and its masterful control of narrative stakes. Also made truly iconic thanks to its performances, John Williams’s typically exceptional score, and the ageless glory of its practical effects, Raiders of the Lost Ark serves as both one of the greatest historical heart-racers of all time and the enduring pinnacle of action-adventure cinema at large.

2

‘Lawrence of Arabia’ (1962)

Three men looking in the same direction in Lawrence of Arabia
Three men looking in the same direction in Lawrence of Arabia
Image via Columbia Pictures

Functioning as both an imposing and majestic historical adventure and a biographical epic about one of the integral figures of WWI, Lawrence of Arabia has enshrined itself as one of the truly quintessential masterpieces of cinema. Directed by David Lean, the landmark triumph follows British soldier T. E. Lawrence (Peter O’Toole) as he strives to unite the warring Arab tribes to fight as one army against the Ottoman Empire. As he becomes acquainted with the warriors, Lawrence tries to help them find a way to secure independence when the war ends, intentions that defy the imperialist interests of the British Empire.

Lawrence of Arabia’s legacy as a masterclass in cinematic visuals certainly needs no further deliberation, but there is a feeling that its thematic depth and its character-driven drama have perhaps faded from memory. Refusing the view of Lawrence simply as a clean-cut war hero, the film delves into his eccentric and egotistical persona, while the exploration of how the British tricked the Arabs in the aftermath of WWI adds a dark dimension to the movie’s emphasis on wartime camaraderie and unity. Lawrence of Arabia is a defining historical adventure movie that fills every second of its 222-minute runtime with depth, nuance, and intrigue.

1

‘Seven Samurai’ (1954)

A man sitting down with a crowd behind him in Seven Samurai

Image via Toho

A perfect marriage of gritty historical realism and unbridled entertainment, Seven Samurai is the pinnacle of historical adventure cinema as well as the crowning glory of Akira Kurosawa’s illustrious career. Set in 16th-century Japan, it follows seven warriors who agree to help a poor and defenseless farming village defend their land from a savage bandit gang that torments their area.

Indulging in sensationalism and stylistic flourishes without ever losing grasp on the profoundly human allure of the characters, Seven Samurai is a masterful balancing act that plays high-octane adventure and compelling drama against each other with aplomb. Every second of the 207-minute-long epic is a treat of cinematic brilliance, be it in terms of the energized character designs and dynamics, the groundbreaking production value, the realization of combat that was decades ahead of its time, and even just the simple perfection and control of the storytelling.

Sol Dean Claps Back After ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 Finalists Say She Didn’t Make An Effort To Befriend The Girls In The Villa

Sol Dean has continued shaking up the internet since she was dumped from the ‘Love Island USA’ villa in Fiji. Since leaving the villa, Sol has openly shared her thoughts about what she described as an unpleasant experience.

Following the Season 8 finalists’ latest appearance on Bravo, Sol returned once again to share her side of the story.

Andy Cohen Puts The ‘Love Island USA’  Finalists In The Hot Seat

Following the ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 finale, winners Trinity and Bryce joined runners-up Aniya and Carl on ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ The finalists sat down with Andy Cohen and played a game of “Agree or Disagree” about their villa experience. During the segment, Andy asked the group whether Sol had made an effort to befriend the girls during her time in the villa.

Trinity Tatum, Bryce Dettlof, Aniya Harvey, and Carl Schmidt all disagreed. The group also reacted to several other questions involving fellow Islanders, including other couples and their overall villa experience.

When asked whether anything from the villa changed how they viewed certain relationships after filming ended, Trinity discussed her strong bond with her “Core 4,” while adding that Sol’s previous comments about her relationship with Bryce felt unprovoked and off-putting.

Sol Claps Back At Opinions About Her Villa Experience

After discussions surrounding Sol’s time in the villa continued online, Sol seemingly responded on Threads.

She wrote, “I wanna know why people think I would purposely isolate / make myself uncomfortable around women I had to live with… and be around 24/7 more than I was around the men btw… y’all think I didn’t want to interact with ppl after being locked in a hotel for over a month with barely any social interaction? Mmmh let’s think harder!”

One commenter replied, “It will never sit right with me the way you jumped up out of that kiss when you heard Melanie coming down that hallway. It was giving side piece. That’s the impression of you I’m left with. Sorry.”

Sol responded, “Production said something, but y’all can believe I had super hearing.”

She also addressed a fake screenshot circulating online claiming she would not attend the upcoming ‘Love Island USA’ reunion.

What Did Sol Say After Leaving The Villa?

When Sol was left single and vulnerable alongside Gabriel Vasconcelos back in June, she quickly spoke out after leaving the villa. Sol and Gabriel Reyes went live together and answered viewers’ questions about their ‘Love Island USA’ experience.

Gabriel shared he had plenty of meaningful conversations inside the villa, despite viewers mostly seeing him kissing. While Sol claimed many Islanders were “fake nice.”

Sol said, “You guys literally only see one hour out of 24 hours, so sht happens in there that you guys just don’t really know. I didn’t know there was so much tension, but me watching the episodes, I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s how them b***es really felt.’ That’s why they were acting that way. Everyone was kind of playing fake nice. It was kind of sh** honestly.”

She also clarified that she and Melanie were actually “cool.” She added that many of their conversations never made it into the final episodes. After appearing on ‘Aftersun,’ Sol sat down with Tefi Pessoa and Ciara Miller to reflect on her journey in the villa. During the interview, Sol said she believed Bryce found Kayda more attractive than Trinity while everyone was still filming together there.

Her comments quickly sparked backlash online, with some viewers accusing Sol of making colorist remarks following the interview and livestream discussions. Sol later returned to livestream, denying the accusations of colorism while standing by her opinion that Bryce was simply playing it safe.

Ahead of the reunion, Sol has also made it clear that she is prepared to address everything that happened during her villa experience. During another livestream, Sol told viewers, “I’m ready for this reunion, y’all. I got a lot of sh*t to say and a lot of tea to clock.”

Timothy Chaneyfield is a pastor at St. James United American Free Will Baptist Church in Winter Haven. In addition, he is a chaplain for Compassionate Care Hospice and a former substitute teacher at Crystal Lake Middle School.

The Auburndale Police Department received a cyber tip about “illicit inappropriate activity” between an adult and a child and notified the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said at a press conference on Tuesday, August 4 that Chaneyfield is a “child pedophile” and a “predator.” He also minced no words while listing the accusations against the Florida pastor.

“What we found is that Timothy Cheney went online with a dating app in search of children and that’s what he found was a 14-year-old child,” said Judd. “Did you hear what I said? A little boy.

“Then they moved from there over to the Instagram app where they chatted more often, ” he continued. “It first went to the Abundale Police Department. They determined this was in the unincorporated area and immediately called us and immediately we started our investigation.”

“Timothy took the 14-year-old to his home and when he took him to his home, he engaged the child in sex.

Chaneyfield was charged with three counts lewd battery of a minor and interfering with custody of a minor. In addition to that, he was also charged with unlawful use of a two-way communication device, three counts of traveling to meet a minor.

Timothy Chaneyfield Is HIV-Positive

Sheriff Judd also shared that Chaneyfield is HIV positive, and he was charged as an HIV-infected person having sex without informing partner.

“He confessed that he picked up this 14-year-old child on at least three different occasions, took him to Timothy’s home in Eagle Lake where he engaged this child in sex. But that wasn’t it. That wasn’t all. Timothy is HIV positive.

“He failed to tell this 14-year-old child that I’m HIV positive,” said Judd. “And he had unprotected sex with a child and exposed our 14-year-old victim to HIV.”

Chaneyfield was arrested on July 29 in Orlando. In addition, the Florida pastor was charged with marijuana possession and five counts of drug paraphernalia possession.

Man Says He’s HIV Positive After Sex With Pastor

A 26-year-old man came forward and revealed that he was HIV positive after having sex with the Florida pastor.

He asked that anyone with information about Timothy Chaneyfield having inappropriate contact with other minors or adult victims without disclosing his HIV status contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

“We fear that there’s other victims out there,” revealed Sheriff Judd. “Because he was very aggressive and very adamant about having sex with apparently adults or children.”

He also noted that the victim had been started on an HIV cocktail in hopes that he won’t become infected.

“We pray that our work was fast enough because we got the, our victim, the 14-year-old, the HIV cocktail that we stopped this child from being infected,” he said.

The musician praised Marquezine for her impact on him.

“You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you’ve truly changed my life, and I am so so grateful for you,” he continued, adding a message in Portuguese, which translated to, “I love you so, so, so much. We all do amor.”

Shawn Mendes knows that there’s intense curiosity about his private life — including his sexuality. Since becoming a music superstar around 2013 at age 14, rumors have swirled about his sexual orientation. Mendes — whose celebrity exes include Camila Cabello and Sabrina Carpenter — declared previously that he was not gay. He later confessed that […]

Mendes’ social media post included videos of him and Marquezine at Casa Amarela Providencia in Rio de Janeiro. He also shared several sweet photos of the couple, who have largely kept their romance out of the public eye.

The pair originally sparked romance rumors in December 2025. They have since been photographed together in Los Angeles and Marquezine’s home country of Brazil. Before finding love with Marquezine, Mendes dated Camila Cabello on and off from 2019 to 2023.

Mendes was later photographed with Sabrina Carpenter, after which he claimed he wanted to take the pressure off finding The One.

“When you’re single, there’s this pressure of looking for The One, who’s The One? … Damn, that’s a lot of pressure to put on someone when you first start dating,” he said at a concert in October 2024.

He added: “For me, I’ve just been trying to take that pressure off of whoever, and just allow myself to experience the love that is happening in that moment, wherever and however that’s happening. Man, we all need a little bit of cuddling, a little bit of hugging.”

Throughout his years in the spotlight, Mendes has been candid about facing speculation regarding his sexuality.

“In the back of my heart, I feel like I need to go be seen with someone — like a girl — in public, to prove to people that I’m not gay,” he told Rolling Stone in 2018. “Even though in my heart I know that it’s not a bad thing. There’s still a piece of me that thinks that. And I hate that side of me.”

Two years later, Mendes referred to the rumors as “frustrating.”

Looking for The One! Shawn Mendes‘ love life has made headlines over the years as he navigates dating in the public eye. The “Stitches” singer largely didn’t address his personal life until he started dating Camila Cabello. Mendes and the former Fifth Harmony member originally went public in 2019 after five years of friendship. At […]

“There were some people in my life that I was very, very close to who were gay and in the closet. And I felt this real anger for those people,” he said during an episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast in December 2020. “It’s such a tricky thing. You want to say, ‘I’m not gay, but it’d be fine if I was gay — but also, there’s nothing wrong with being gay, but I’m not.’ You don’t really know how to respond to the situation.”

Mendes went on to reflect on finding a “divine middle ground” with his sexuality.

“I didn’t grow up wrestling. I grew up getting my hair braided on New Year’s Eve. It just completely depends on the way you grew up in your life and your surroundings,” he explained at the time. “I’m still a little bit more manly than that, so I don’t know, it’s a little confusing. So I’m just gonna let it be what it is.”

He continued: “Everyone’s been calling me gay since I was 15 years old. I’m not gay and I’m like, ‘What does that mean?’ I had these problems with the way my voice sounded. I’m like, ‘How do I sit?’ I’m always first to cross my legs and sit with a position of this feminine style and I really suffered with that s***. I think a lot of guys go through that, and even worse than that, there are so many guys who are gay and in the closet and must be hearing s*** like that and being like, ‘I’m terrified to come out.’”

4 Actors Who Could Play Lion-O in Warner Bros.’ ThunderCats Movie

4 Actors Who Could Play Lion-O in Warner Bros.' ThunderCats Movie

More than five years after Warner Bros. announced a live-action ThunderCats movie, fans are still eagerly waiting for the legendary animated franchise to make its return. While the project has remained largely quiet, director Adam Wingardhas continued to reassure fans that the film is very much alive.

Earlier this year, Wingard confirmed that he and longtime collaborator Simon Barrett are still actively developing the screenplay after production on Godzilla x Kong temporarily delayed progress. “Simon and I are still actively working on the script,” Wingard explained, adding that ThunderCats remains “one of the top priorities” on his slate.

Wingard has never hidden his love for the property. In fact, he famously revealed that he wrote his own ThunderCatsscreenplay while he was in high school, calling the film his dream project. He has also promised fans that he has no interest in dramatically reinventing the beloved characters.

“I want to do a ThunderCats film that takes you back to that ’80s aesthetic,” Wingard previously said. “I don’t want to reinvent the way they look. I want them to look like ThunderCats.” Rather than actors simply wearing makeup or prosthetics, Wingard has envisioned a hybrid of CGI and animation that captures the classic designs while bringing them into a modern cinematic world.

Although no casting announcements have been made, there are already several actors who seem like natural fits to wield the Sword of Omens.

One of the most popular fan choices is Henry Cavill. The former Superman star has built a reputation for portraying noble, honorable heroes, and his passion for fantasy franchises like The Witcher makes him an easy choice in the eyes of many fans. Cavill has the commanding presence, physicality, and leadership qualities that Lion-O demands.

If Warner Bros. is looking for someone slightly younger, Tyler Hoechlin deserves consideration. His portrayal of Superman showcased warmth, confidence, and humility, all qualities that define Lion-O. Hoechlin also has years of experience leading ensemble casts, something that would be essential if ThunderCats launches a larger franchise.

Finally, Leo Suter could be the wildcard pick. Best known for Vikings: Valhalla, Suter brings a regal presence, athleticism, and enough youthful charisma to portray Lion-O as he grows into the legendary leader fans remember from the original series. Casting a younger actor would also allow the character to evolve naturally over multiple films.

With Wingard still committed to bringing ThunderCats to the big screen, it’s only a matter of time before casting speculation begins to intensify. Whether Warner Bros. chooses an established Hollywood star or introduces a fresh face, whoever lands the role of Lion-O will have enormous expectations from generations of fans who have waited decades.

Another One?! Diddy's Prison Release Date Reportedly Updated — Again

Diddy‘s prison release date has reportedly been updated — once again.

Diddy’s Prison Release Date Reportedly Updated — Again

According to TMZ, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has now pushed back Diddy’s prison release date. Per Page Six, the date has now been updated to February 20, 2028. Furthermore, the outlet reportedly reached out to the bureau for an explanation on the new date and the repeated updates. However, it has yet to hear back.

Per PEOPLE, Diddy’s legal team declined to share a statement on the matter.

Judge Reportedly Signs Off On Government Seizing Confiscated  Property

On Tuesday, August 4, TMZ also published a separate report. In it, the outlet asserted that Diddy’s trial judge, Arun Subramanian, signed a court order that day. Specifically, the outlet reports that the order “officially [forfeits] a bunch of property to Uncle Sam.”

The property reportedly includes a “long list of items.” This allegedly includes “multiple iPhones, iPads, hard drives — and even $9K cash seized from the Park Hyatt Hotel on September 16, 2024.” As The Shade Room previously reported, on that date, Diddy was arrested and taken into federal custody in connection with what was then a sex trafficking investigation. Additionally, in March 2024, Diddy’s homes were raided, and items were confiscated by federal agents.

Per the outlet, the order reportedly signed by the judge came after no timely claim was filed against the forfeiture.

Diddy’s Prison Release Date Was Reportedly Updated After His Alleged Prison Fight

As The Shade Room previously reported, last month, Diddy’s prison release date was reportedly updated after he got into an alleged fight at Fort Dix. The alleged altercation allegedly took place days before July 24, and it was allegedly sparked by an argument between Diddy and another inmate.

During the alleged altercation, the 56-year-old allegedly held his own. However, afterward, he was reportedly thrown into solitary confinement, per The Shade Room.

Subsequently, it was then — surprisingly — revealed that his release date was updated from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028.

Whiter teeth can quickly change how you feel and present yourself, but a shinier smile seems like a luxury reserved for those who can spend a lot of money. Snow is making sure that isn’t true. The brand offers a range of teeth-whitening products that make it an affordable at-home journey, and its products can even be used by those with sensitive gums and teeth.

There’s more than one way to whiten your teeth. For some, it might be using a daily toothpaste, and for others, a booster powder makes more sense. One of Snow’s bestsellers, though, is its wireless device that uses light-emitting diode (LED) technology to help you achieve a whiter smile in just 21 days. Simply place the mouthguard in your mouth for nine to 30 minutes each day, depending on your goals.

If you’d prefer a more direct solution, shoppers appreciate Snow’s Gold Wand Extra-Strength Teeth Whitening Pen. As the name suggests, it lets you control and apply the product directly to your teeth. Made from a combination of hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide that lifts surface stains, it dries on the teeth in 30 seconds and just needs to sit for 30 minutes. No one will even know you’re in the process of whitening!

Another one of Snow’s bestsellers is its dissolving strips that use P3 Technology — a proprietary combination of pectin, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and pentasodium triphosphate — combined with hydrogen peroxide for a visibly whiter appearance. The perk here is that you don’t have to peel off a film at the end of the 30 minutes. The strips completely dissolve, so you’re ready to go.

Regular users agree that Snow products really work, leaving you with whiter teeth after a little consistency.

Jen announced in June that she and her then-husband, Brian, had separated after decades of marriage.

“Yes, we are separating. This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship,” a joint statement from the pair, who share two sons, read. “What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”

Weeks later, Jen claimed that Brian was allegedly leading a “double life” well before they decided to end their marriage.

Influencer Jen Hamilton confirmed she will keep her last name despite the breakdown of her marriage to estranged husband Brian Hamilton. “It’s my name now,” she shared via Instagram on Monday, July 27. “I made this name special and I’m gonna keep it.” Jen announced her separation from Brian after “15 years of shared history” […]
