American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth is making more money than ever before, and it’s not through her acting career.

Despite starring in some of the biggest hits of the late ’90s and early 2000s, the 52-year-old is now a multimillionaire thanks to OnlyFans.

After joining OnlyFans in April, Elizabeth tells Variety that she earned her first million dollars within just nine days on the adult-oriented platform.

The actress already confirmed that her OnlyFans income has surpassed the money she made on her biggest films, which include American Pie, Love Actually, Scary Movie, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Before signing up for OnlyFans, Elizabeth was living off her savings and had barely acted in years.

The star hadn’t done TV work since 2013 and her film work across the last decade has been a few low budget streaming flicks, with the exception of a rebooted Jay and Silent Bob movie in 2019.

‘For the last ten years I’ve been living off of my savings for the most part because I haven’t been as focused on work,’ she explained.

‘To be able to get myself back to the point where I’m not struggling and am able to choose projects because I like them and not because I need the money — it’s definitely giving me more freedom to do that.’

Elizabeth currently doesn’t post nude or sexually-explicit content on her OnlyFans page, although she says that could change soon.

‘I do all kinds of content, but I don’t even know what my boundaries will be,’ she said.

A strong earthquake measuring magnitude 7.7 hit off the Indonesian coast early Saturday, prompting a tsunami alert. Authorities have received no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the tremor struck the Flores area at 5:58 a.m. local time at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located roughly 68 kilometers (42 miles) north-northwest of Ende in East Nusa Tenggara province.

The initial quake was followed by several aftershocks.

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency issued a tsunami warning for part of East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi provinces, and urged residents to stay away from beaches and riverbanks. The agency located the shallow undersea quake near Flores island. Residents along affected coastlines were advised to move to higher ground as officials were closely monitoring coastal tide gauges for any changes.

The quake was felt across much of Flores Island. Initial reports indicated there was damage to homes and public facilities, though officials had not yet released estimates of the number of damaged buildings or any casualties.

Yohanna Embu, a resident of Sikka, a regency within East Nusa Tenggara province, said a number of buildings were damaged by the strong shaking and panicked people ran to higher ground.

“Many buildings here were damaged … I saw that the waiting room at the Pelni port terminal in Maumere had collapsed,” she said.

Indonesia, a vast archipelago of more than 17,000 islands, is prone to earthquakes and volcanic activity because of its location on the “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin.

In December of 1992, a magnitude 7 earthquake caused a tsunami that killed about 2,500 people on the southeastern island of Flores, part of a group of islands in the eastern half of Indonesia.

Addressing potential broader impacts, Australia’s tsunami warning center stated the undersea tremor presents “no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland, islands or territories”.

The restaurant and pub announced the reopening on Facebook last night (Thursday, August 13).

After a week of only partially intended revelations about The Elder Scrolls 6, a reader is upset at the haphazard way the game is being unveiled.

We’ve been waiting so long for news about The Elder Scrolls 6 and when it finally came it’s hard to think of how they could have messed it up worse. This was Xbox’s big plan, as I understand it. Xbox boss Asha Sharma, who has openly admitted she knows very little about video games, went to visit Bethesda, who had planted 800 red flags in their law, and an inflatable rat, to protest the number of people that have been laid off at the company.

I don’t know what a person like Sharma thinks when she sees something like that. I don’t know if a corpo mind like hers is capable of empathy or regret, but she didn’t mention any of that publicly, even though her being there only amplified the bad publicity from it all, once everyone found out about it.

So then she gets a ‘live playthrough’ (presumably someone playing the game at her) of The Elder Scrolls 6 and she says: ‘The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.’ Plus, she seemed to reveal the name of the game has eight letters in it, which made everyone think the previous rumour about it being called Sentinel is true.

We all know that making announcements in the most boring way possible has become a bit of a trend lately. I don’t know why, maybe they’re trying to save money on marketing, but what should have been a massive reveal of the name was, as usual, just a couple of tweets from people I’ve never heard of.

A former Bethesda dev confirmed the name was Sentinel and someone posted a graphic that showed that there’d been a hint to the name in Starfield. So why pay for a trailer to be made when you can have some guy on X just go, ‘Yes’ when someone asks if the game’s called Sentinel.

The thing is, the name in The Elder Scrolls is very important, because it’s always of a place and that gives you a very clear idea of what the game’s going to be like, because it’s all set in the same fictional world that’s been around for decades.

Sentinel is an area in Hammerfell, where the rumours have always said the game is based, so we know we’re getting deserts and sea pirates, and a vaguely Middle Eastern look and feel to everything. That sounds great, but why did I have to learn that through a tweet (that could still be wrong, but probably isn’t) and a bunch of rumours?

Then let’s look at what Asha Sharma wrote. How long do you think she watched the game for? Half an hour or so? So how did she know the story was good? What does she know about the scale of open world games? It’s not a knock on her, I don’t think she’s done anything particularly wrong so far, apart from laying off thousands of people – but it’s obvious that was going to happen with or without her.

But I’d bet a lot of money that she just hung around for 20 minutes, listened to what some lackey told her about the game – including that it had a great story – and went home. It never occurred to her (or apparently anyone around her, because I doubt she actually wrote that tweet herself) that it would seem unlikely that anyone would get a good grasp on the story in such a short time.

Bethesda games aren’t exactly known for their dense plots. The story is usually just about the least interesting part of the game, which is all about exploration and discovery on your own terms, but I’m sure she doesn’t know that either.

So the game I’ve been looking forward to for over 10 years is finally revealed and in the worst way possible, with no trailer, no big event, and no one actually involved in making it to talk about it. I couldn’t be less hyped and the worst thing is I bet the real reason Sharma was there was to tell Bethesda to get a move on and get the game out ASAP or she’ll lay off more people. Which is definitely the sort of motivation you need to help improve the quality…

Reform UKs Week From Hell Despite By Election Win

Nigel Farage is heading back to parliament – and straight back into a political crisis.

As expected, the Reform UK leader comfortably won Thursday’s Clacton by-election, increasing his majority from 8,500 in 2024 to more than 12,000.

This was hardly surprising, given his nearest challenger was Count Binface after Labour, the Tories, Lib Dems and Greens refused to put candidates.

The self-styled intergalactic space warrior managed to receive an astonishing 9,455 votes – his best ever by-election performance.

He said: “What does that tell you? Well it tells you that Nigel, who said he didn’t want to be humiliated, maybe has been.”

Nevertheless, it would be churlish to deny that Farage’s 63% vote share on a 44% turnout was still an impressive result.

There can be no doubt about it, the vast majority of the people of Clacton love the Reform leader and are very happy for him to continue as their MP.

His popularity in the constituency could well be put to the test again very soon, as no sooner had his re-election been confirmed than the parliamentary standards commissioner announced that his investigation into Farage was resuming.

The probe was launched earlier this year into his failure to declare a £5 million gift from a Thailand-based crypto billionaire shortly before the general election.

That ultimately led to Farage’s resignation as Clacton MP last month, claiming he was the victim of a “witch-hunt” and saying it was up to voters, not the Commons authorities, to decide his fate.

Should the commissioner find him guilty, and he be suspended from parliament for more than 10 sitting days, a recall petition will take place which could lead to another by-election.

But that is just one of many problems piling up in Farage’s bulging in-tray.

Chief among them is what to do about Zia Yusuf, Reform’s home affairs spokesman, who on Tuesday earned a rare public rebuke from his leader after describing former Tory defence secretary Ben Wallace of being “a traitor to Britain”.

His tirade against the former Scots Guard, who was mentioned in dispatches for his bravery in Northern Ireland, related to the Afghan resettlement schemes set up under the last Conservative government and supported by Reform at the time.

Speaking to The Sun, Farage said Yusuf’s language had been “too strong”.

“I shall give him a ticking off, don’t worry,” he said. “I’ll speak to him today, but it’s over the top.”

But three days later, Yusuf’s offending comments are still on his X feed, as does a poll he set up asking whether Wallace should be “prosecuted for treason”.

A senior Reform source told HuffPost UK: “Nigel is right to publicly say Zia overstepped the mark, and now I’ll judge how Zia behaves following it .

“I hope he finally learns that being constantly angry and seeking confrontation distracts from what should be the focus – policy – which is what we need to get back to.”

The source added: “You’ve got to assume that Zia either storms off or Farage will come under pressure to kick him out at some point.”

The row also exposed splits within Reform, with political commentator Tim Montgomerie – who defected from the Tories in a blaze of publicity last year – describing Yusuf’s comments as “inappropriate and counter-productive”.

“One of the biggest question marks over Nigel Farage’s leadership is whether he brings Zia under control,” he said.

If Farage did tell Yusuf to cool it, he clearly did not get the memo as barely 24 hours later he was threatening to have Vodafone’s directors jailed for giving free mobile phone SIM cards to a charity which supports asylum seekers.

In response, Vodafone said they would continue helping “vulnerable” people in the UK.

Another fly in Farage’s ointment is the fact that after 18 months of leading the national opinion polls, they have been overtaken by Labour and, in one poll this week, the Conservatives too.

A poll of polls showed that, since Andy Burnham replaced Keir Starmer as Labour leader and prime minister, support for his party has gone up, while Reform’s slide in the polls continues.

That trend has coincided with intense scrutiny of Reform’s finances, as well as Farage’s, putting the party on the back foot for the first time since the last general election.

Farage did not fancy standing alongside Count Binface and the other by-election candidates.

Farage’s normally sure political touch also seems to have deserted him in recent months, typified by his decision not to attend the by-election result declaration.

He told supporters at an invite only “Farage-fest” victory party that Essex Police had warned had warned him of “an organised campaign to disrupt” the count by his opponents.

However, this appeared to be contradicted by the force, with sources insisting they had not advised any of the 34 candidates that they should not attend the count.

Reform chairman Lee Anderson then offered a different explanation for Farage’s absence.

He said: “Nigel’s a great man of principle. We were at a great celebration through the night where we had hundreds and hundreds of campaigners, activists, members, politicians, MPs, councillors from all over the UK who turned out not just to campaign but to celebrate this great victory.

“I think his time is better spent with the people who supported him. He said a massive thank you to them, he’s put on a great party for them. It was a great occasion, it’s only right that he spends that time with his members, with his activists, with his supporters.”

Farage himself also appeared to give the game away by admitting he didn’t fancy standing shoulder to shoulder with Count Binface and the various other eccentric characters who also stood.

“I’m damned if I’m going to stand on a stage, having won a resounding victory, a ringing endorsement of all that I’ve tried to fight for, and you’ve tried to fight for, and be demeaned and humiliated by nobodies,” he said.

As HuffPost UK reported last week, pollsters agree that it is still far too early to begin writing off Farage or Reform.

But his supporters will be hoping that Farage’s return to Westminster will see him grip the various problems facing his party, and redouble his efforts to get them back on track.

UK Government issues emergency wildfire alert warning on mobile phones

Residents across Greater Manchester and Lancashire have received an emergency alert warning of a “very high risk of wildfires” across the country.

The severe alert, issued by the UK Government just minutes ago, urged residents, landowners and visitors not to carry out any activities that could start a fire.

The alert came without warning and follows a number of tests in recent years.

The warning specifically highlighted the dangers posed by disposable barbecues, fire pits, garden incinerators and fireworks, cautioning that even a small flame could quickly develop into a major wildfire.

Louise Haigh, the First Secretary of State, said Friday’s message was “the most extensive use of the UK’s emergency alert system in response to an active incident”.

It warned people not to use barbecues, campfires, and fireworks, and recipients have also urged to report fires immediately to 999.

“The Government will continue to provide every assistance to communities being impacted by these fires, including the deployment of 100 additional military personnel in major incident areas.”

Angela Rayner, the Communities Secretary, said: “As well as supporting firefighters on the ground now, my department will hold a summit bringing together fire chiefs, the National Fire Chiefs’ Council, the Fire Brigades Union and other key organisations to look at our future response.

“To the residents affected, particularly those who lost their homes and their life’s possessions to fire – we will work with the mayor and local leaders to make sure you are supported.”

The alert said: “Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk.”

People are being advised to follow official updates and report any signs of fire immediately by calling 999.

A driver has appeared in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving after three motorbike riders died.

Hugh Campion, 70, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court after the crash on the A36 at Knook, Wiltshire, on May 31 last year.

Campion’s red Toyota Prius allegedly collided with three Vespa motorbikes travelling in the opposite direction.

Robert Best, 62, died on the road while Marie Jones, 64, and Timothy Davies, 62, died in hospital.

Campion, of Upton Scudamore, Wiltshire, is also accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving to Gary Jones, Mrs Jones’s husband.

The defendant spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a brief hearing before magistrates.

He did not enter a plea to any of the four counts he was charged with and magistrates sent the case to Salisbury Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on September 16.

Campion was released on unconditional bail.

The three victims of the crash were members of Yate and Sodbury scooter club – based in South Gloucestershire – and had been beginning a trip to Normandy, France.

Andy Davis, co-founder of the scooter club, said the trio were ‘big parts of the club’ and ‘all people we knew from growing up, from school days’.

Mr Best and Mr Davies were riding their bikes while Mrs Jones, whose husband suffered ‘a few broken bones’ but was recovering, had been a pillion rider on another.

There were five motorbikes and eight riders on the trip, with the survivors ‘traumatised from what they’ve seen’ according to Mr Davis.

An appeal in the victims’ memory raised more than £25,000 for three air ambulance charities.

Mr Best’s family said he was ‘loved and adored by all who knew him’ and had ‘dedicated his life to being a good husband, father, son, brother and friend’.

‘He leaves behind his extensive family and friends, all of whom are devastated by his loss.’

Mrs Jones’s family said the ‘cherished’ grandmother had passed away in hospital ‘surrounded by the love’ of her relatives.

The scooter club said of Mr Davies: ‘Our dear friend, you had a way of making us laugh even on the darkest days, your warmth, humour, and spirit will be deeply missed.’

A statement added: ‘Our club is more than just a group of scooter enthusiasts – we are a close-knit family bound by friendship, shared passions, and the joy of the open road.

‘The individuals we have lost were not only valued members of our club, but dear friends whose presence, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all of us.

‘This loss has shaken us all, but we will continue to stand together — as a community, and as a family.

‘Ride in peace, our brothers and sister.’

Mr Davis co-founded the scooter club with his brother-in-law Kevin Milford in 2017 and said the three who died had been members ‘pretty much from the beginning’.

After the riders’ deaths, the club cancelled its summer festival and began a fundraising bid for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance.

MISSAUKEE COUNTY, MICH. (AP) — Five people were killed and a suspect is dead Friday in an incident that played out at two homes and a wooded area in Michigan, according to law enforcement.

Michigan State Police were responding to reports of a shooting at a home in Missaukee County, about 169 miles (272 kilometers) northwest of Detroit, when they found three people dead and another wounded, police said in a statement. The person injured was taken to the hospital.

Police said the suspect, Chad Hickman, 39, fled before law enforcement got to the home.

As police searched for him, they found a fourth person dead at another home, according to officials.

Law enforcement found Hickman’s vehicle in a wooded area, which led them to his body and the body of another individual, according to police.

Police originally said they were investigating a shooting but have not released information on how each person died.

“This situation is heartbreaking for the community and challenging for the investigators involved,” Lt. Ashley Miller said in a statement.

Police area investigating the shooting and have asked the public to avoid the area.

The names and ages of the people killed are not being released until their family have been notified, according to police.

Audrey Werro is fast becoming an unsolvable riddle for the leading lady of British sport. For the second time in 10 weeks, this Swiss phenomenon left Keely Hodgkinson staring at her heels in a race that lived up to its billing as the best of the European Championships.

To the most talented Audrey since Hepburn went the 800m gold medal. To Hodgkinson, there was presumably no silver lining to be found in finishing a close second on home soil.

If there is to be any consolation, it is that Werro, aged 22, clocked a championship record of 1:54.81 on a chilly, breezy evening in Birmingham to beat her. But warmer thoughts will be harder to find for Hodgkinson.

Instead, the Olympic champion must process the dawning of a serious rivalry and one that is not currently swinging in her favour. This one was settled by the margin of 0.2sec.

In the long run, Hodgkinson might view such moments as the competitive nectar needed for the breaching of new frontiers, of course, but the sting in the present will be real. Not many athletes have the finishing speed to match Hodgkinson, but in their past two races Werro has kicked away from her with the force of a donkey.

The decisive move here came after 500 metres, when Werro put the hammer down.

Hodgkinson, who had been near enough level at the bell after a 56sec opening lap, went with her, and they both separated from Femke Broeders-Bol in third, but the Brit had no answer. She never got her nose in front, and those moments of futility can leave lasting doubts in an athlete.

The 24-year-old, who was chasing a third straight European title, was evidently in little mood to indulge the celebrations of on-track interviewer Iwan Thomas. He assumed she would be thrilled with silver, but Hodgkinson responded: ‘I think I would be happier with a gold.’

She later added: ‘I think with that level of competition, any medal is a really good achievement and another one to add to my collection so I can never be disappointed with that. But I’m defending champion so I wanted to do that.

‘I knew it was going to come down to the wire but I really thought I was going to win today. But it wasn’t meant to be. I didn’t do anything wrong, it was just one of those things.

‘Congrats to Audrey. I am sure we will have more battles.’

That much seems certain. And for two women striving to break the oldest world record in track athletics, that will be a good thing.

But Werro has the edge. Having been beaten twice by Hodgkinson during the indoor portion of the season, she gained spectacular revenge in Stockholm in June when the Brit set a personal best of 1:54.33. Not only was that a win against a full-form Hodgkinson, Werro’s time of 1:53.98 was the third quickest in history. A month later, Werro ran quicker again with a 1:53.80 – if anyone is to better the dubious mark of 1:53.28 set by the Czech Jarmila Kratochvilova in the Eighties, Werro might have the edge.

To think, Werro was only cleared to race in this final on appeal after being tripped in her semi-final. It was a marginal call but also the correct one, so there should be no controversy around what it led to.

For Hodgkinson, the bigger picture will make for strange viewing. After the injury troubles of 2025, her times in 2026 have moved sharply on an upward trajectory, including the indoor world record in February, so she rightly resents any suggestion of ‘failure’ at losing a race or two. She was borderline tetchy in using that label prior to these Championships.

But in athletics, the clock is a secondary adversary to the field and Werro’s emergence is a huge fly in the ointment. For the rest of us watching, we can presumably take great pleasure in where it leads, because athletics needs rivalries. In these two gifted runners, it has one that has the potential to go on for years.
