Angelina Jolie is one proud mother.

“They’re definitely individuals. That makes me very proud because one of the most important things, I think, is to basically not get in their way,” Jolie, 51, told L’Officiel in an interview published Wednesday, September 9. “As a parent, you try to do many things, but you also try to not get in the way of this human being who has a life separate from yours and so much potential in their own mind. You want to make sure that you support them.”

Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt share six children: Maddox, 25, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, both 18. (Jolie and Pitt, 62, split in 2016 and settled their divorce in 2024. Since then, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have each requested to legally drop the Bullet Train actor’s surname.)

In recent years, many of the former couple’s kids have begun pursuing their own goals and hobbies, including Shiloh, who went viral in 2024 while showing off her dance skills to the song “Tanzania.”

Jolie also shared in her new interview, “Maddox is focusing on being a pilot, and Pax has his photography.”

“Obviously it’s nice for me to be around them, but I am just Mom, wanting to be around her family,” the actress added.

With many of Jolie’s kids entering adulthood, the Oscar winner has begun tackling new solo pursuits.

“I really love and am looking forward to more connection and community. I’m not somebody who vacations or shops or things like that. I envision more field work, more travel and just being out in the world,” she told L’Officiel. “Get my motorcycle back [or] get back in a plane, I don’t know. That’s definitely what my kids want!”

“My mom and I have a unique, almost kindred relationship that can be hard to put into words,” Zahara said during a Spelman College event with her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in April. “Our love for each other is a found one. I was adopted at 6 months old and given some of the most special and loving people as my siblings — with a mom who raised us on the value of helping others, being kind and always striving for growth as people.”

Zahara, who graduated from Spelman in May, further gushed that she was grateful to have a “role model” in Jolie who demonstrated “what it looks like to be a decent human being.”

The actor raved about his return to acting on “Shrinking,” noting that his character allowed him to act without the pressure of his health condition affecting his memory. 

Fox’s latest gig marks the first time he would appear on television after stepping away from the acting world in 2020 due to Parkinson’s. At the time, he had appeared in shows like “The Good Wife” and “Scrubs” as he continued to battle the condition. 

Fox had previously retired in 2000, a few years after he went public with his diagnosis, but his resilience carried him until he pulled the plug again two decades later. “Shrinking” was created by Fox’s pal Bill Lawrence, who gave him the chance to show up as he is on set, emotions high or otherwise. 

In his interview with PEOPLE, Fox acknowledged that a new variable of his symptoms emerged, which came with him losing his ability to memorize things, lack of tremor control, and balance issues.

When the actor wasn’t appearing on TV screens, he shifted his focus to advancing the Michael J. Fox Foundation, created in 2000. He explained that his foundation’s main aim was to create a world where Parkinson’s disease is a thing of the past, with help from science.

Fox’s television appearance came with a bow on top as he already snagged an Emmy nomination for his role on the third season of “Shrinking.” The show follows a therapist who deals with his friend and colleague who has Parkinson’s disease, likewise Fox’s character, who also has the condition.

Back in January, the movie star told the Los Angeles Times that a scene in “Once Upon A Time” where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character crashed out because he couldn’t memorize his lines resonated with him.

While the actor admitted to feeling a flush of fulfillment appearing on set again, he declared that his return should be treated as what it truly is- brief. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, tied the knot in 1988, a few years before he got the diagnosis, and she was right with him when he decided to go public with the news. The Blast noted that the actor confessed to The Hollywood Reporter that his wife felt the worst hit from the reaction that followed the news and the rollercoaster from Parkinson’s.

He noted that due to the symptoms of the disease always changing, Pollan did not know what to expect and how to navigate their new normal. However, the actor said his decision to be open about everything was to raise awareness of his health issue.

The filmmaker weighed in on the stigma and pessimism that often trailed Parkinson’s, including the lack of resources to provide support for people battling the condition, unlike himself, who got necessary help.

Fox added that he found sharing his reality individually elevating and closer to humanity, not always about science. “And if we can find a way to get through every day and at the same time be fueling for our actions and our deeds and our philanthropy, then that’s a great thing,” he concluded.

The television personality struggled with emotional and physical effects of the disease, which came in daily doses of reduced mobility, shocking tremors, and several other symptoms he did not know existed. 

In the middle of the rubble, however, Fox told PEOPLE at the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s annual “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s” gala in 2024 that he found an anchor in his impeccable sense of humor, though very dark.

He had been open about dark humor and how it makes challenging conversations about breaking barriers and unraveling taboos a bit more bearable, as he encouraged everyone to embrace it. The event raised about $116 million in funds to support Parkinson’s disease research.

Since its inception in 2000, the actor’s Parkinson’s Disease Foundation has raised over $1.75 billion for research, and it remains the largest non-profit funder of Parkinson’s drug development globally. The Foundation has also been a transformative force in the search for a cure, playing an important role in scientific humanitarian missions.

When it comes to “so bad it’s good cinema,” there needs to be some sort of purity test ahead of production so we don’t end up with movies like Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance. For those of you who are not in the know, this film is a sequel to 1991’s Samurai Cop, a movie that has garnered a reputation for being one of the worst films of all time.

The problem with cult films like Tommy Wiseau’s The Room (2003), James Nguyen’s Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010), and Amir Shervan’s Samurai Cop is that they’re accidentally brilliant. The acting is wooden because nobody knows how to act, and the sound and lighting design choices are so baffling that the only way to explain or excuse them is to accept the films for what they are: total amateur hour endeavors.

When filmmakers like Wiseau (who’s actually in Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance) and Nguyen become too self-aware, they lose the spark that made their most iconic works so notorious in the first place. The Room is a masterpiece in cringe cinema because there was no self-awareness, and Wiseau genuinely seemed to think he was making a masterpiece.

Nguyen’s Birdemic 2: The Resurrection tried to cash in on the accidental schlock and awe of its predecessor, and you can tell it’s being phoned in because he figured audiences wanted more of the same.

Even worse, in the case of Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance, it’s not even helmed by Amir Shervan, who passed away in 2006, but is only based on his characters. You can’t recreate the kind of magic the first film had because it’s now being put together by somebody who wasn’t even attached to the OG.

One Last Job, Getting Too Old For This Ish

Twenty-five years after Joe Marshall (Mathew Karedas) and Frank Washington (Mark Frazer) took down the Katana crime syndicate in Samurai Cop, Joe has disappeared from public life following the murder of his girlfriend Jennifer. Unfortunately, the Katana organization didn’t stay dead. Fuj Fujiyama (Cranston Komuro) has rebuilt his criminal empire and now finds himself caught in a gang war with the rival Shinjuku and Ginza clans.

When the violence escalates, Frank tracks down his former partner and convinces Joe to return to Los Angeles with the promise that Jennifer’s murder investigation will be reopened.

Back on the job, Joe and Frank begin investigating the warring crime families while Joe becomes involved with the mysterious Milena Roberts (Kayden Kross), a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to his slain lover. Making matters considerably weirder are Katana vice president Doggé Sakamoto (Bai Ling) and Shinjuku leader Linton Kitano (Tommy Wiseau), who both have their own reasons for wanting Joe out of the picture.

As the bodies pile up and the gang war gets increasingly convoluted, Joe realizes that his return may have been part of somebody else’s plan all along. And this time, it’s personal … or something. I don’t really know. I pretty much tapped out spiritually midway through the third act, which is saying a lot because I am a patient man.

Why This Formula Fails

Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance fails because it tries so hard to be a bigger and better version of Samurai Cop. Bringing Mathew Karedas and Mark Frazer back into the mix makes for a great reunion of sorts, but at this point everybody knew about the first film’s reputation and was trying to capitalize on the whole “so bad it’s good” angle.

Heck, they even got Tommy Wiseau in on the fun, who at this point in his career had stopped taking himself seriously and leaned into his public persona as an unhinged maniac who secretly thinks he’s brilliant while putting out content that’s deliberately worse than The Room.

This knowledge is what kills sequels like Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance because it feels insincere. Watching somebody who really thinks they’re cooking fail miserably has an innate charm compared to somebody who’s actively trying to make a bad movie. Half of the humor associated with films like The Room, Birdemic, and Samurai Cop is the result of a complete lack of self-awareness and experience, and the fun comes from watching that cognitive dissonance play out on screen.

That’s why films like Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance never quite hit the same level as their predecessors. Without that cognitive dissonance from somebody who doesn’t have any clue how to make a movie but reckons they’ll figure it out, it’s just bad theater written in bad faith. The first film wasn’t a bad movie on purpose, and we love it for that. Here, they actively tried to make a bad movie, and it’s not only worse than the first one, but doesn’t even have half of its charm.

Big Brother: The Party Poopers

Angela Murray joined the kiddos when they sang Happy Birthday to Barrett and presented his cake. Meanwhile, party poopers Dee Valladares and Rick Devens boycotted the get-together.

Taylor Brown made the cake and spelled out HBD Barrett in sprinkles. Drew Campbell said it should have said Happy Birthday Icon Slayer. Barrett used birthday hats to make a nose and ears to look like a rat.

Drew was going to do it too but Barrett said he doesn’t need the hat (implying he looks like a rat already). On her TikTok, Mallory Aurichio made a cake for Barrett’s birthday. It was hideous looking but sweet.

Oreo cake, Nutella between layers. Mint flavored green frosting glopped on. Crushed mint Oreo on the sides, chocolate chips on top and she wrote Happy Birthday Mallory on it but then wished Barrett happy birthday.

What’s funny is before Mallory was evicted, she tried to get Barrett to ask for a box mix of carrot cake with his birthday cake boxes because that’s what she likes and Big Brother gives you two boxes of mix.

Mallory specifically mentioned the Oreo cake with mint and Barrett didn’t think it sounded good. So that’s why she made it. In the house, Barrett thanked Taylor for the cake and said thank you to everybody who came to his party.

Big Brother 28: Melody Gets Dumped

Rumor has it that Melody’s boyfriend Aaron unfollowed her on all of the socials and blocked her. The Sun said several weeks ago that sources close to Aaron said he was uncomfortable with how Melody was acting with Drew on the show.

But they also said Aaron and Melody weren’t officially a couple when she went into Big Brother 28. They were casual. Aaron apparently met Melody at ASU. They graduated five years ago and they’ve been on again, off again for a while.

But according to the Sun’s report, they were apparently rekindling when Melody started Big Brother. And if the street talk is correct and Aaron is done with her because of Drew, that’s a whoops.

Now let’s get into the icons trash talking each other about who’s going home. Angela, Devens, and Dee sat at the dining room table, lightly roasting each other about tonight’s Blockbuster.

Dee told Devens, “You’re not going to win. I’m going to win.” He clapped back to Dee. “It’s sweet that you think that.” Dee joked that “it would be an honor to lose” to him. And Devens said, “it’ll be an honor to beat you”.

Dee laughed and said, “it’ll be a bigger honor to see you in jury”. And Angela joked, “Then vote for me.” Devens said when he gets to jury he’s going to tell Lala he needs four days alone to decompress.

Devens talked about his social battery being drained and Dee insisted her social battery is great and Devens laughed at her. He said if this is you with a good social battery, “then, okay”.

Because the rest of the house has been talking about how Dee’s been acting. Devens got a second wind just in time for the Blockbuster. He loaded up on cold medicine last night and is feeling good today.

Big Brother: Rules are Rules, Right?

Real quick, I mentioned that Dee took hot water into the Have-Not shower and eating Kamu Kirk‘s food as a Have-Not were rule violations. And then Dee made a third rule violation during the veto ceremony.

When Dee went over and put her leg up and loomed over Barrett, that was a rule break – a clear violation. The rules say during the veto ceremony, everyone must remain seated unless they are pulled off the block with the veto or renommed

Otherwise everybody must stay seated except for the veto holder until the veto box is closed and the meeting is adjourned. So Dee was rule-breaking again. But penalty votes are rare so I’d be stunned to see Dee face consequences for rule-breaking.

Big Brother 28: Votes are Flipping

Let’s talk about where the votes are because things were fluid overnight. Yash Patel and Taylor debated keeping Devens over Angela. Yash was saying if Devens would say out loud that he would target Barrett and Drew, then he would keep him.

But Taylor pushed back hard on evicting Devens. And Taylor’s had conversations with Devens where he made loyalty promises that he wouldn’t go against her and Yash so she may be waffling. Taylor told Devens he would have to make a statement.

And Devens said that he would. So, he might pull out something in his final speech if he is one of two up for eviction tonight. Right now, Dee may be safe sitting next to Devens because he’s the bigger social threat. But I wouldn’t count Rick out just yet.

Dee has also been selling herself as better to keep over Angela because she’ll be a bigger target next to anybody on the block. But that would leave intact, the trio of Devens, Dee, and Drew. Bottom line is Angela feels safe right now and maybe shouldn’t.

Angela’s been actively socializing with the rest of the house while Dee and Devens have been more standoffish and threatening. But Dee may be able to sell evicting Angela. I anticipate lots of active voting talk leading up to the Blockbuster.

So this, I think, is a really hard week to nail down who’s going to go. Dee and Devens, I think, are going to keep having conversations today and Angela may not be campaigning which would be a big mistake on her part.

Big Brother: A Forced Prediction

If I absolutely had to predict, I think Devens goes out if he’s on the block. And I think if it’s Angela versus Dee, then Angela might actually go. Which would be an insanely bad decision for these houseguests.

Maybe they haven’t watched Survivor and don’t know who they’re dealing with when it comes to Dee. I’ve watched her gameplay on two seasons of Survivor. She’s dangerous.

Big Brother 28: A Man-Man Showmance Debut?

When I saw Angela embarrass Drew and Melody about their pool action, I thought her confronting them might get her evicted. And then overnight, we had Melody and Drew griping about Angela to Barrett.

Melody was on fire about Angela and others talking about her and Drew. And Melody said I’m not here to be your romantic comedy movie. She said, “I didn’t come here to make out with Drew”. He agreed that Angela’s very persistent.

Melody said Angela’s affecting her game and projecting fantasies. Melody asked why is no one talking about me cuddling with Barrett? He agreed – Barrett asked why isn’t he being talked about?

Then, Drew joked he and Barrett could have the first man-man showmance, that they wore dresses together and reenacted movies with guy-guy loves scenes. Drew said he’s all about firsts.

The Vetr founder is turning a timely livestock treatment into the foundation of a much larger animal-health and biotechnology strategy

In biotechnology, blockbuster companies are rarely built around a single moment. They are built when an entrepreneur recognizes a market need, responds at the right time, and then develops the infrastructure to turn that initial success into something much larger.

That is the opportunity now taking shape around Andrew Hamilton, founder and CEO of Vetr, whose growing animal-health company has gained momentum through Albendamax, an albendazole-based oral suspension developed for livestock. With the product becoming more widely available and Vetr continuing to expand its distribution network, Hamilton is assembling the pieces of a potentially major biotechnology enterprise.

Albendamax contains 11.36% albendazole, an ingredient used in parasite-management programs for cattle, sheep and goats. The product entered the market at an important time, as livestock producers and veterinarians faced limited availability of established albendazole-based treatments.

For ranchers and farmers, a supply interruption involving livestock medication is not an abstract business problem. Parasite-control schedules are an essential component of herd health management. When treatments become difficult to obtain, producers can face reduced weight gain, lower feed efficiency, reproductive complications, and other costly operational challenges.

Vetr recognized that pressure and moved to increase access.

Albendamax has since progressed from being an available alternative during a strained supply period to becoming a product with an expanding retail presence. Its availability through Southern Livestock, a retailer with access to more than 700 stores across the United States, represents a significant step in that evolution.

“Livestock producers need dependable products and dependable places to purchase them,” Hamilton said when announcing the expanded availability. “Making Albendamax available through Southern Livestock brings the product closer to the people who rely on it while supporting our larger goal of building a more accessible animal-health supply network.”

That last phrase may be the most important part of Hamilton’s strategy. He is not simply attempting to sell bottles of a livestock treatment. He is working to build a supply network connecting product development, veterinary access, digital services, and retail distribution.

From Product Availability to Market Position

Albendamax initially attracted attention because it was available when livestock producers were having difficulty finding other albendazole-based products. Availability created the opening, but Vetr’s ability to expand distribution could determine whether that opening becomes a lasting market position.

The Southern Livestock relationship gives Albendamax greater visibility among the farmers, ranchers, and animal-health professionals who already purchase products through agricultural retailers. It also moves Vetr beyond a temporary response to a shortage and closer to the kind of durable distribution model required to build a nationally recognized brand.

The product is currently offered in several package sizes intended to serve different livestock operations. Users are required to follow all label instructions, withdrawal periods, pregnancy precautions, and species-specific directions. Albendamax is strictly for veterinary use, and livestock owners should consult a licensed veterinarian when making decisions regarding parasite diagnosis, treatment and control.

Those practical details matter because Hamilton’s ambitions depend on earning the confidence of the agricultural community. Livestock producers do not choose essential products based on hype alone. They value consistency, accessibility and a reliable supply chain.

Vetr’s early success with Albendamax suggests the company understands that reality.

Andrew Hamilton Is Playing a Bigger Game

Hamilton’s business interests already extend beyond one veterinary product. Through Vetr, he is developing a broader animal-health operation focused on making veterinary services and treatments more affordable and accessible. The company’s strategy spans pharmaceutical products, digital veterinary care, and expanded wholesale and retail distribution.

Hamilton has also been building a portfolio of pharmaceutical and medically relevant digital assets. Earlier in 2026, he acquired Omeprazole.com from AstraZeneca, adding a widely recognized pharmaceutical domain.

Hamilton’s digital portfolio also includes Albendazole.com, Whipworms.com, Pinworms.com, and Coccidia.com, in addition to Tapeworm.com and Tapeworms.com. Together, these domains reflect a broader strategy centered on owning authoritative online destinations related to common parasites and their treatments. 

The acquisition offered another look at how Hamilton thinks. Rather than separating biotechnology, digital discovery, and commerce into unrelated categories, he appears to view them as parts of the same system.

Consumers, pet owners and agricultural professionals increasingly begin their search for health information and products online. Owning valuable digital destinations while also developing products and distribution channels could give Hamilton a distinctive position at the intersection of healthcare information, treatment access and commerce.

That does not make billionaire status inevitable. Building a billion-dollar biotechnology business requires more than ambition. It demands sustained product development, regulatory discipline, strong distribution relationships and the ability to scale without losing customer trust.

Still, Hamilton is assembling the right kinds of assets.

“The opportunity is much larger than any one medication,” Hamilton has said. “We are building infrastructure intended to make veterinary care and animal-health products more affordable, accessible and reliable.”

Albendamax Could Be the Beginning

The real significance of Albendamax may ultimately be what it proves about Vetr’s operating model.

The company identified an underserved need, brought forward a product and expanded its reach through an established agricultural retailer. If Hamilton can repeat that process across additional animal-health categories, Vetr could develop into the integrated biotechnology and veterinary platform he envisions.

For now, Albendamax is giving that vision something every ambitious founder needs: visible traction.

Andrew Hamilton has made no secret of his desire to build a billion-dollar animal-health enterprise. With Albendamax gaining distribution and Vetr broadening its presence across pharmaceutical products, veterinary technology, and digital infrastructure, the path ahead is becoming easier to see.

Every future biotech billionaire needs a product that proves the larger idea can work. Albendamax may be that product for Andrew Hamilton.

Days of Our Lives had big drama this week when Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) got out of her back surgery and just can’t feel her legs. And at first, it was supposedly the anesthesia that had to get out of her system. And now it looks like something else.

It looks like the surgery failed her. And Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) is right there comforting Joy. But is she tricking Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) and playing with Alex? We are going to get into whether Joy is legit paralyzed or if this is just a scheme she’s cooked up against Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).

Days of our Lives: Joy’s Terrifying Diagnosis

So, Joy found out after her fender bender that not only did she get whiplash. But she also wound up with spinal stenosis. But it didn’t show up right away. It wasn’t until she had that intense arm pain when she was trying to pick up Kelsey that Javi Hernandez (Jacob Martinez) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) noticed what was going on and rushed her over to the hospital.

And once Kayla heard Joy’s symptoms, she was pretty sure that the numbness and tingling in her arms and hands was spinal stenosis, and a scan proved that Kayla was absolutely correct. So since then, Alex has been Kelsey’s single parent caregiver since Joy’s hospitalization, and it’s been hard on him. But Joy’s been happy that Stephanie is under orders from Alex to stay away from Kelsey while he and Joy have been hammering out their custody agreement.

And then right before surgery, Joy strongarmed Alex into signing a custody agreement to keep Stephanie away from Kelsey. So, Stephanie was shocked to find out she can’t get any closer than ten feet from Alex’s daughter for the next twelve months.

And then Joy will re-evaluate and see if she still feels like Stephanie is dangerous. But Kayla and Stephanie feel like Joy is just kicking the can down the road. That way she can have lots more time with Alex. Of course, her rival Stephanie won’t be around them. And that also means that all that time that Joy spends with Alex is time that he is neglecting his marriage.

We’ve all seen Joy’s cutesy little 1950’s daydreams and the most recent nineteen eighties sitcom daydream. And the theme is always exactly the same. We’ve got Joy imagining a world where she, Kelsey, and Alex are a happy family and Stephanie’s out of the picture. And Joy even admitted to Kelsey she would like that traditional family with her and Alex and their daughter.

Philip is on to Joy on Days

But Joy’s not fooling Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) or anybody else. He suspects Joy’s trying to steal Alex from Stephanie. Plus, Philip found it odd that Joy doesn’t want her mom Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) or her dad Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) or her sister Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to come help take care of her.

Joy wants support only from Alex. There’s actually been recent talk that Sofia Mattsson may possibly play a recast Chloe Lane when she arrives in Salem early two thousand twenty-seven. So, it is possible that Joy’s sister could come to town as part of a paralysis storyline.

Days of our Lives: Joy Wants Alex to Care for Her

Right now, Chloe’s on a singing tour and Joy claims she doesn’t want Chloe to miss out on the work opportunity just because she’s having surgery. But it makes no sense. Because Nancy and Craig could come. They’ve got free time. And now it looks like Joy may be paralyzed from the waist down as a complication of her spinal surgery.

Kayla said there was a very small chance that could happen during the routine surgery. But Joy’s medical team said everything went really well. When Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Alex were in the room for her after Joy woke up from surgery, she noticed she couldn’t feel her legs. And Sarah reassured Joy it was likely side effects of the anesthesia still working their way out of her system. And they talked about how it might be spinal swelling.

But it wasn’t too long after that when it was Kayla in the room and she was the one checking Joy over after the anesthesia should have been out of her system. So Kayla was testing Joy’s reactions and we saw her claiming to Kayla that she still couldn’t feel her legs and then she was crying and clinging to Alex. So, the question is whether Joy is faking her paralysis. She was told before surgery there was a slight chance of that complication.

Days of our Lives: Joy Playing Alex?

And in the official Days of Our Lives spoilers for Fall, Stephanie gets more suspicious of Joy just as she’s upping her game. So, Alex winds up further torn between Stephanie and wanting to be there for Joy and Kelsey. And in another spoiler for Days of Our Lives, it says it looks like Joy is about to get what she wants. But then Alex stuns her. So, it wouldn’t be a stretch if Joy is faking paralysis to keep Alex by her side. Plus, Kayla told Joy not feeling her legs doesn’t automatically mean she’ll have long-term paralysis.

So, it could be that Joy is faking paralysis from the get-go to try and keep Alex nearby. Because they were just talking about Joy getting out of there and Alex being able to go back to his life. Or alternately, it could be that Joy gets the feelings back in her legs and decides to fake ongoing paralysis. And I have no doubt that she can pull it off. Remember, Nancy got Joy a role on Body and Soul.

Days of our Lives: Joy Plays the Part

So, Joy is an actress and she may have already researched how to pretend to be paralyzed as if she was preparing for a role. Faking injuries is common on soaps. And since her dad is a doctor, Joy might have grown up playing with medical instruments and knows how to disguise her reflexes like with a little rubber hammer. And if she is faking trying to keep Alex close, it wouldn’t be the first time somebody in Salem faked paralysis.

If you remember, it was, I think, early 2008, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) injected Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) with a whole bunch of drugs to fake a cardiac stroke. And that caused indefinite paralysis. But Stefano regained his ability to speak and move. And he was finally able to escape his hospital room, which made John Black (Drake Hogestyn) think that Stefano had been faking his paralysis symptoms all along.

And there have been other Salem residents who were paralyzed and later regained their ability to walk. If you remember, that’s what happened with Paul Narita. He had an injury in 2018. And then also in 2024, we had Sarah Horton being hit by a car. But she was later treated with a special Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) serum that helped her specific spinal problems.

So, if Joy is truly paralyzed, it may not be forever. But based on the Fall spoilers, I tend to think she’s faking. Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) faked a leg injury. She even had a cast and crutches trying to get sympathy from Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and he later busted her. And of course, we know Stephanie will trigger Alex if she suggests that Joy is faking.

It’s going to have to be Alex himself or Philip or one of Joy’s family members that busts her for him to believe it. There’s also the question again of whether Alex is or is not the father of little Kelsey and Joy somehow faked paternity tests. Because she wanted Alex. So Joy could be faking several things soon.

Days of our Lives: Joy’s Up to No Good

Alex just learned about Joy’s paralysis. So we’ll have to wait and see if she’s lying and is doing it to sink her claws into Alex and make Stephanie look like a loser if she suspects her of this deception. We may see Joy secretly toe-tapping or standing up while Alex isn’t around and she needs to reach something.

Based on the Fall spoilers, it sounds like Joy’s up to something. And I think fake paralysis makes sense. And judging by these spoilers, Alex will be the one to figure it out and he may even trick her or Stephanie might. Since the spoilers say Alex surprises her, you know, he might just dump Joy out of her wheelchair to see what happens. But either way, I’m looking forward to it.

Damson Idris shared his selfie from a barber’s chair on Wednesday (September 9). He posted on Instagram Story, holding the camera close to his face and slightly smirking. The 35-year-old wrote about looking extra young after shaving his face.

“Good lord lol. Why do I always look 13 years old when I shave? Out here looking like I read the Terms & Conditions. I look like a friendly conversation,” Damson added.

The Roomies Give Damson A Gentle Roast

As mentioned, TSR reshared Damson Idris’ photo and jokes on Instagram and the roommates quickly joined in on his roast. Plenty of comments mentioned other harmless things Damson’s youthful glow makes him look like.

What Has The Actor Been Up To? 

When he’s not giving fans a kiii, Damson Idris is climbing his Hollywood ladder. Last year, the release of the film ‘F1’ and its $630 million box office success gave him a major boost. Earlier this year, Formula 1, in real life, named him its Global Brand Ambassador, the first non-driver to hold that honor. He also appears to be open to reprising his role as Joshua Pearce, though he has not confirmed whether he’s involved in a sequel.

His next major project, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ drops in January 2027 and stars Hollywood icons like Viola Davis, Regina King, Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo.

As for his love life, he was spotted in March kissing his once-former girlfriend, Lori Harvey, on a balcony in Paris. However, it’s unclear whether their rekindled romance made it through the spring and summer.

Retail users trading Binance’s new gold and silver options can buy calls and puts but cannot write them. The worst outcome is capped at the premium paid. No margin call, no liquidation engine, no demand arriving later.

The reason commodity optionality has been an institutional discipline was never a shortage of retail views on gold. It was that the instrument assumed a margin relationship most people were never going to be offered. This year supplied the test when gold crossed $5,000 an ounce for the first time in January, touched $5,600, and has since given back more than a fifth. That is exactly the tape that sends retail looking for protection, and protection was the one product retail could not safely hold.

The Hedge That Was Priced for Somebody Else

Selling an option is a yield strategy with an unbounded tail. The writer collects a premium in exchange for absorbing whatever the underlying does next, which demands both a high tolerance for loss and enough capital to survive being wrong at speed.

Everything built around retail access to traditional commodity options exists to manage that asymmetry. Approval tiers, suitability questionnaires, margin calls, and forced closures are all downstream of the possibility that a customer’s position could go further against them than their account balance. The cumulative effect has been to make the whole instrument feel like professional equipment, whether or not the customer intended to sell anything.

Binance’s design removes the obligation rather than the instrument. Retail accounts can buy calls and puts and nothing else, so loss is bounded at the premium, there is no maintenance margin, and no liquidation engine attaches to the position because there is nothing for one to close.

“With gold hitting record highs and investors seeking inflation hedges outside traditional equities,” says Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance, “Binance’s commodity options offer users additional compliant, crypto-native ways to diversify without leaving the platform.”

Diversification is the polite word for it. The blunter version is that a hedge only works if whoever holds it can survive being wrong, and open-ended downside on the protection itself defeats the purpose for anyone without an institution absorbing the tail.

The volatility behind that demand has been unusual. Gold crossed $5,000 an ounce for the first time in January 2026 and later reached $5,600, while silver set a record above $120, per Cryptopolitan’s account of the rally. Both have retreated hard since, with gold near $4,347 and silver near $63 in early August.

What Buy-Only Actually Removes

A bought option has one cost, and it is paid upfront. Nothing else can be demanded later, which is the whole of the difference.

Writing inverts that. Binance restricts it to eligible institutional users and approved liquidity providers, pairs the launch with client-education material and the risk disclosures its ADGM license requires, and has said it is examining limited retail writing under tighter conditions without committing to it.

One thing most coverage of this launch has got wrong is the clock. These are not continuous contracts. Trading runs Sunday 6:00 PM ET to Friday 5:00 PM ET with a daily break between 5:00 and 6:00 PM ET, a schedule deliberately matched to the underlying metals sessions rather than to crypto’s. What changed is the shape of the risk, not the availability of the market, and treating a defined-risk story as a 24/7 story turns something accurate into something that is not.

The weekend gap those hours preserve is exactly what institutional desks organize around. “From about lunchtime, the desk basically stops thinking about making money and starts thinking about what they can live with for roughly forty-eight hours until the Sunday evening reopen,” says Mustafa Al Niama, head of capital markets at Mysten Labs and formerly head of digital assets for the Americas at Goldman Sachs. A desk manages that exposure by sizing it. A retail buyer manages it by owning an instrument that cannot cost more than it already has.

Somebody Still Has to Be Short

Every bought option has a writer, and if retail cannot be one, the short side sits with designated liquidity providers and eligible institutions. How deep that side runs is the real constraint on how large a retail options book can get.

The buying side is the part nobody disputes. “We’ve seen strong demand for our commodity perpetuals since introducing them earlier this year, and commodity options build on that momentum,” Jan says.

The short side’s depth is not guaranteed. Institutional desks have been slower to arrive than retail buyers, and the people watching the flow describe the imbalance plainly. “So it’s friction for institutions and genuine access for retail,” says Augie Ilag of CMT Digital.

Nor is that capacity sitting in one place. TokenInsight ranked Binance third by commodities and stock perpetuals volume in the second quarter of 2026, which suggests that writing capacity is distributed across venues rather than concentrated in a single book.

A bounded loss is still a loss. A contract held to expiry with the strike out of the money returns nothing at all, and options carry high market risk regardless of which side a participant takes.

Scale is worth holding onto here too. Crude oil perpetuals accounted for roughly 2% of primary futures contract equivalents traded on traditional exchanges in March 2026 and about 4% in April, per Binance Research. Markets that size do not set anyone’s terms yet.

The Application Nobody Has to Fill Out

The finding goes beyond the listing. It is the confirmation that what kept retail out of commodity optionality was an architecture built to contain short-side risk, and that removing the obligation to carry that risk removes most of the barrier along with it. What supervisors decide about defined-risk retail derivatives will shape the next phase considerably more than any exchange roadmap.

Robert Louis Stevenson‘s Treasure Island is unarguably one of the greatest adventure novels ever written. Nearly a century and a half after its publication, the classic tale remains one of the most influential works in the genre, inspiring countless adaptations across film and television. The beloved story is getting another big-screen interpretation, with iconic director Ridley Scott putting his own spin on the seafaring classic in an upcoming movie starring Hugh Jackman. However, Scott’s adaptation won’t be the only new take on Treasure Island releasing soon. MGM+ and Paramount+ have already been hard at work on their own version of Stevenson’s story set to sail soon.

MGM+ and Paramount+’s adaptation of Stevenson’s novel is simply titled Treasure Island. According to the official synopsis, the series “reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story” by following a young Jim Hawkins and his fiercely determined mother, Beth, after they come into possession of Captain Flint’s legendary treasure map. The discovery sends the pair into a brutal race for unimaginable riches, setting the stage for a high-stakes adventure filled with danger and betrayal. The series promises a contemporary spin on Stevenson’s story while retaining its timeless themes. Created by Robert Murphy, the 6-part series is directed by Jeremy Lovering (Slow Horses), William McGregor (The Buccaneers), and Paul Walker (Shameless).

Treasure Island has officially unveiled its release date, alongside a carousel of first-look images offering audiences their first glimpse at the upcoming adaptation. The series will premiere in the U.S. on October 11 on MGM+, followed by its UK and Ireland debut on Paramount+ the following day, October 12. New episodes will be released weekly, with the U.S. run concluding on November 15 and the UK and Ireland run wrapping up on November 16. Treasure Island is a Paramount+ Original series in association with MGM+ and Fifth Season, which will reportedly handle the series’ international distribution. Playground and Mark Hedges are among the producers behind the pirate adventure series.

Who Stars in ‘Treasure Island’?

Treasure Island boasts an impressive ensemble of recognizable talent, led by David Oyelowo, the star of Taylor Sheridan‘s anthology series Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Oyelowo will take on the charismatic role of Long John Silver, a character Jackman will also portray in Scott’s upcoming movie adaptation.

Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Doomsday) stars as Beth Hawkins, with Tom Sweet (Great Expectations) playing Jim Hawkins. The cast also includes Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) as Aaron Graham, Tomer Capone (The Boys) as Billy Bones, Craige Els (Andor) as Mr. Arrow, Tristan Sturrock (Poldark) as Captain Smollett, and Neil Pendleton (Outlander) as Mr. Cameron.

Treasure Island is being produced as a six-part limited series, so it will tell a complete story that won’t necessarily need another season, except, of course, as is often the case, the audience reception is overwhelmingly positive. A trailer has yet to be released, but with the series’ fall premiere now approaching, audiences shouldn’t have to wait much longer for their first proper look at the adaptation.
