The Pre-Fall Wardrobe That Makes Seasonal Dressing Easy

The Perfect Pairing
Outfit Details: Celine Jacket (last seen here, similar less expensive here), Doen Dress (more sizes here), Miu Miu Sneakers (last seen here, more colors here, similar here), Saint Laurent Sunglasses
I love when a dress feels like it already knows what jacket it belongs with. There’s something so satisfying about a dress that gets complemented rather than covered by whatever gets thrown on top of it, whether the layer picks up the print, mirrors an embroidered trim, or makes the color more dramatic. Pairings that feel easy enough for lunch, pretty enough for date night, and interesting enough for whatever event is on the itinerary.
That’s the common thread I pulled together here. Casual dresses feel like more of a moment with a jacket that shares their rhythm, while silk, suede, and embroidered pieces feel even more finished when the layer reads as part of the same story. The right match doesn’t have to be obvious. Sometimes it’s the shade, the texture, or the proportion that makes everything click, turning two separate pieces into one complete look.

I tend to prefer claw clips, but if I was looking for a new barrette, this pretty one from Lele Sadoughi would be at the top of my list.
I like the arrangement of the stones — having five opposed to three feels a lot more luxe.
The barrette is $75, at Nordstrom.

Fashion Bomb Daily Celebrates 20 Years The 6th Annual Bomb Fashion Show , Presented by Bask & Lather Co., Belo Records, and Beyond the Bleacherz
Twenty years after Fashion Bomb Daily first started chronicling style, the brand threw the party to prove it: the 6th annual Bomb Fashion Show, presented by Bask & Lather Co., Belo and Co Records, and Beyond the Bleacherz filled the room with star power, fashion, and energy.
The evening brought together style, music, and community for a celebration that surpassed every year before it, a true toast to two decades of impact.

Guests arrived dressed to the nines, filling the room with the kind of style Fashion Bomb Daily has championed since day one, and the energy inside made clear this was a milestone unlike any other in the brand’s history.

….and Mahogani Collections ripped the runway.

The Breakfast Club’s Loren Lorosa lit up the night with her spectacular hosting skills.
Each designer used the anniversary as a moment to show their best work, and it showed — this was some of the strongest runway programming the show has delivered.
Le Kool Champagne flowed all night as DJ Monday Blue and Gud Girl traded off on the decks, keeping the room moving before handing things off to a Belo Records after party that ran the celebration past midnight.
Twenty years in, Fashion Bomb Daily has never thrown a bigger night than this one. If this is what year 20 looks like, year 21 has a lot to live up to. The event was sponsored by Bask & Lather Co., Beyond the Bleacherz, and Belo Records.

Splurge Monday’s Workwear Report: Waverly Sculpt Stretch Crepe Dress

Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
This dress from The Fold comes in what the brand calls a “spring green” color, but I’d be pretty excited to wear it this fall. The geometric neckline has an effect that’s similar to a V-neck but with a little more flare.
I would add some chocolate brown accessories to make the color feel a little more autumnal, but this is a stand-alone piece that doesn’t need too much added to it.
The dress is $565 at The Fold and comes in U.S. sizes 0-12.

The Suede Finish – Julia Berolzheimer
Outfit Details: AYR Shirt, La DoubleJ Skirt, Manolo Blahnik Heels, Etro Bag, Sherman Field Necklace
If fall were a texture, mine would be suede. It’s the detail I start reaching for first, before the heavier layers come out, the one that makes what I’m already wearing feel richer by just a few degrees. Whether it’s brushed chocolate, tobacco, or warm chestnut, it offers a softness that sits so well alongside crisp cotton, printed skirts, and the open shapes I still have in rotation right now, helping my closet shift gradually into a new season.
Accessories are where I notice that shift first. A soft suede flat makes a satin dress feel less precious, a belt cinches a shirt for more shape, and a tasseled bag brings a little movement into an otherwise tailored look. The texture feels warm, tactile, and useful from September well into winter, adding that first hint of fall in one subtle move.
