Top 7 Fashion-Forward iPhone Duo Cases
Fashion-forward used to mean picking a case color that matched your bag. On a foldable phone, it means something more specific: the case has to move with a hinge, close flat when the phone closes flat, and still look like an outfit choice instead of an afterthought bolted onto Apple’s most expensive iPhone yet. It’s Emilia Wickstead and Knatchbull for Northern Ireland Engagments
The Princess of Wales chose a mix of pieces for engagements today in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The Baron and Baroness of Carrickfergus, as they are titled in Northern Ireland, were in Belfast for engagements tied to Prince William’s Homewards initiative, a five-year program designed to “make homelessness rare, brief, and unrepeated.” The Telegraph’s coverage offers background.
The Princess of Wales has backed her husband’s initiative to end homelessness in a surprise joint trip to Belfast. Catherine and William championed the Prince’s Homewards project together for the first time with a handful of engagements in the Northern Ireland capital on Friday.
The Prince, who was inspired by the “heartbreaking” visits to homeless shelters he made with his late mother Diana, has previously said he hoped the five-year programme would “inspire belief throughout the UK and beyond that homelessness can be ended for good”.
Belfast is one of the six locations in which the Homewards initiative is being trialled, along with Newport, Lambeth, Aberdeen, Sheffield, and the three neighbouring Dorset towns of Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.
Their first stop was The Commons, a historic church turned into a self-sustaining community center.
A Kensington Palace news release notes The Commons is “centered on creativity, care, connection and belonging. From cultural events and shared meals to everyday community activities, The Commons demonstrates how shared spaces can help people build relationships, develop confidence and strengthen their connection to their community.”
Below, the Princess speaks with Pauline McGourann of the ‘Sew-Cial Circle,’ a craft and social group for those interested in crochet, knitting, and sewing that meets at the former church every month.
This Daily Mail piece provides details.
Volunteer Pauline McGouran said the princess chatted enthusiastically about the importance of crafts in bringing people together and bettering mental health. ‘She was just lovely, incredibly charming and interested. And we all said no one of us could have carried off a skirt like that!’ she said afterwards.
A senior royal aide said the princess has been keen for some time to see the work of Homewards as it tied in with her own early years work to better the lives of under-fives.
‘The issue of social and emotional development in young children directly links to issues such as homelessness so she has been really keen to come and see its work and take this back to her own Centre for Early Childhood,’ they said.
The couple met with David and Jill Hines, the Commons directors, and toured the facility.
We learn more via Belfast Live’s coverage.
The prince and princess met with the chairs of the New Employment Opportunities Network (Neon), an initiative launched by the Royal Foundation under William’s Homewards programme, which aims to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated.
Neon aims to bring together businesses with the community and voluntary sector to prevent homelessness by supporting employment.

After wrapping up their visit to The Commons, the couple did a walkabout.
The earlier rain stopped, and the sun peeked out.
The Belfast Telegraph has details.
The Prince and Princess of Wales met hundreds of royal fans in south Belfast today as part of a surprise visit to Northern Ireland. Crowds who gathered waiting to catch a glimpse of the couple were given an even bigger surprise as they walked across the road to shake hands and say hello.
The Prince also delighted the mum of one royal well-wisher. Speaking to the woman named Angela through her daughter’s phone on FaceTime, William told her that they were missing her. “We’re missing you here Angela, it’s not the same without you,” he said.
Here’s the Princess with 3-year-old Bobby Corrigan.
We return to The Daily Mail’s article.
Catherine also gently stoked the head of a seven-month-old baby. ‘They are wrapping you up warm,’ she smiled.
She beamed as one lady told her: ‘Thank you for coming to Northern Ireland.’
Catherine chatted with a group of schoolchildren about her own youngsters too, telling them how Prince George had just started a new school.
As she admitted another little boy’s squishy toy, he asked her what her children were called. ‘Thank you for asking,’ Catherine said. ‘I have George and Charlotte and the little one is called Louis.’

Here she is with the little 7-month-old referenced in the Mail’s story.
The Belfast Telegraph shared a video from the Commons visit and walkabout.
The duo then visited the Belfast IKEA store.
Below, with Store Manager Michaela Quinlan (left) and Operations Manager Ian Magill (right).
People magazine reports that IKEA “has recruited young people locally through NEON with support from Homewards partner, Hays’ Project Flourish in partnership with EveryYouth.”
We get details on the engagement from The Telegraph’s piece by India McTaggart.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have surprised shoppers at Ikea in Belfast as they went behind the tills at the store’s cafe to serve customers.
During a flying visit to Northern Ireland to champion Prince William’s Homewards initiative on Friday, the couple chatted with shoppers as they checked out the furniture shop’s cafe.
Seamus McBrearty, the Ikea food manager, showed the heir to the throne how to work the cashier, and said afterwards: “It was good fun, I think he enjoyed it.”

We return to The Telegraph’s story.
Speaking to one customer, the Princess asked: “Have you got a family card? Oh, you do!” She then handed their receipt to Ayla, a seven-year-old, who was being treated to chocolate by her grandmothers, Lorraine Magill and Margaret Broom.
Mrs Magill remarked that the Princess had “no problem” working the till, adding: “I didn’t expect it whatsoever, but it was lovely and she was really nice.”

The Princess looked like she was enjoying the experience.

We now turn to what Kate wore for today’s engagements.
The Princess brought back her bespoke Catherine Walker coat. It was first noted when the Prince and Princess viewed floral tributes for the late Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, then seen again in March 2023 for a visit to a Muslim Center.
We saw the Princess sporting a new Emilia Wickstead skirt, the brand’s ‘Kensie” Skirt ($2058; it now appears sold out) in Military Green Shetland Tartan. Made in the UK, the skirt is a wool/polyacrylic blend in a pleated, A-line silhouette. The pattern is described as having a “sculpted structure and heritage-inspired fabric. Crafted from a slightly heavier Shetland wool, the skirt holds its shape beautifully while offering a refined drape.” Thank you to Laura for this ID.
The Princess brought back her Cascade Ruffle Blouse ($595) in 100% sandwashed silk satin by Knatchbull. The blouse was first worn in May 2025 at the British Fashion Council awards, seen again at a September rugby match, and worn again last November.
The Princess was in a new pair of heels that look like they could be the ‘Gianvito 85’ Black Leather Pumps ($850), a staple in Gianvito Rossi collections and in the Princess’s shoe closet.
She carried her Mulberry ‘Amberley’ Small Top-Handle Bag ($1195) in ‘Mulberry Green.’
The Princess had her hair partially pulled back.
Making it easier to see her Cartier Trinity Earrings.
And one more photo of the Princess today.

Smart Tools for Modern Parent Entrepreneurs

The most useful tools reduce repeated decisions, centralise information, and make the day easier to manage. Technology alone won’t create a workable schedule. Clear boundaries and simple routines give those tools a purpose. Once that foundation […]

Best Hair Loss Shampoo Picks: What Actually Helps When 15 Million People Are Affected
Choosing the right hair loss shampoo has become one of the most searched-for solutions in beauty this year, and it’s easy to see why. Hair loss affects more than 15 million people in the UK alone, according to widely reported figures, yet it remains one of those topics people rarely bring up at dinner parties. For something so common, it carries an outsized emotional weight.
That quiet distress is part of what makes the booming market for scalp and hair-thinning products feel so urgent. Supplements, red light therapy devices, growth oils and serums now crowd the shelves promising fuller, denser hair. But according to the experts behind British Vogue’s recent roundup of top formulas, the most effective routine still starts somewhere much simpler: the shower.
Why a Hair Loss Shampoo Is the Foundation, Not the Fix
Dr Nichola Conlon, a molecular biologist and longevity expert consulted for the piece, is careful to temper expectations. “A cosmetic shampoo isn’t going to treat every underlying cause of hair loss,” she explains, “but what it can do is create a healthier environment for the hair you already have.” In practice, that means removing excess oil and product buildup that can clog follicles, while supporting the scalp barrier against irritation and the kind of conditions that make shedding worse.
In other words, a good hair loss shampoo won’t regrow hair on its own, but it can set the stage for everything else in a person’s routine to work better. Conlon notes that pairing shampoo with proper conditioning can reduce breakage too, which helps preserve the length and density people already have, even while they wait for slower-acting treatments to take effect.
She’s also candid about the limits of the category as it stands. “There are emerging ingredients and technologies aimed at supporting the follicle and reducing shedding, but I’d think of shampoo as one part of a wider scalp-and-hair routine rather than a standalone,” she says. That framing matters, because it pushes back against the idea that any single bottle is a miracle cure.
What to Look for in the Bottle
Ingredient lists on hair loss shampoos have grown increasingly technical, but a few names keep surfacing across the top-rated formulas. Niacinamide appears repeatedly for its role in improving scalp barrier function, while caffeine is prized for boosting blood microcirculation around the follicle. Salicylic acid shows up in more clinical, trichologist-backed formulas as a gentle exfoliant that helps unclog pores and stimulate the scalp directly.
Among the standout picks, one clinically tested anti-shedding formula combines niacinamide, caffeine, sandalore and lauric acid in what’s described as a “quad” of follicle-stimulating ingredients, with trial participants who were already experiencing hair loss reporting reduced shedding after use. A more affordable, mass-market option takes what Conlon calls a “scalp-first approach,” leaning on an amino complex along with zinc and biotin to support the hair fibre rather than just improving how strands look on the surface.
At the premium end, formulas developed by long-established trichological clinics combine strengthening molecules designed to penetrate the hair cortex with companion conditioners built on peptides and biomimetic ceramides, aimed at replacing lipids lost through damage and breakage. The common thread across all these products is a shift away from purely cosmetic thickening toward genuinely supporting scalp health.
Washing Habits Matter As Much As the Product
Beyond ingredients, how and how often someone washes their hair can influence outcomes almost as much as the hair loss shampoo itself. Experts caution that both over-washing and under-washing can aggravate thinning: too much buildup can irritate the scalp and contribute to inflammation, while overly aggressive washing or scrubbing can increase breakage in hair that’s already fragile.
It’s also worth remembering that some degree of shedding is entirely normal. The NHS notes that losing 50 to 100 hairs a day is typical. The real warning signs are clumps on a pillow or noticeable handfuls during washing, the kind of moment that, as one beauty writer who has dealt with thinning since 2020 put it, feels “heart-plummeting.” When shedding crosses from ordinary to alarming, or is accompanied by visible scalp changes, dermatologists generally recommend seeking a proper diagnosis rather than relying on over-the-counter products alone, since causes ranging from hormonal shifts to stress to underlying scalp conditions all require different approaches.
Ultimately, the appeal of a well-formulated hair loss shampoo lies less in dramatic regrowth claims and more in steady, cumulative support: a cleaner follicle environment, a calmer scalp, and stronger strands that are less prone to snapping. Combined with supplements, targeted serums or professional treatment where needed, it’s one practical, affordable entry point into a problem that millions of people quietly navigate every single day.

October Forecast – Julia Berolzheimer
I’m currently writing this on my flight back from Paris, coming down from a fashion high. Getting to participate in fashion week fuels all of my senses. It feels as though I’ve nourished myself this week in a way I never have before. This was my first Paris fashion week and as cheesy as it sounds, it felt like a dream come true. There were more moments than I can count where I thought “pinch me, is this really happening?”. I saw so much beauty on the runway, off the runway, in the clothes, and in the accessories. I keep seeing the phrase “personality dressing and color is back,” but I like to say “it never left!”, at least not for me. To me, that is style! To express yourself, to take what you love from all different types of aesthetics and personalities and make it your own. Since this is the October forecast, and I’m coming in a little late, I’ll wrap it up but get to all the good stuff down below…
What We’re Doing
- For starters, we’re flying back home and even though I had the time of my life in Paris, I am very excited to go home to our girls. I’ve missed them deeply.
- Thankfully, we’re doing a getaway to NYC for the girls’ fall break, which will allow us to have lots of family time together.
- I’m going to give you whiplash if you look at my schedule right now. I’m home for about one beat before heading to Cartagena with a brand I absolutely love for a really cool experience I’m excited to 1) actually experience and 2) share with you all. It blends travel and fashion, my two big loves.
- We’ll be back to NYC again, for another brand event towards the end of the month. A quick but short trip for work!
- Our backyard is currently getting a little makeover.
- Speaking of our home, I shared my closet tour (and our kitchen tour) for our Trade Offs members recently.
- Halloween! Now that we’re home, I’m taking the girls to go get pumpkins for our porch and we’re bringing out our skeletons that we have “climb” our house!
- Prepping for two collections launching at the start of November– get ready!!!
- When we were in New York last month, I went in and filmed a Let’s Get Dressed episode with Liv Perez. You can listen to it now here or watch it on Youtube here.
What I’m Wearing
- I’m wearing these Frame jeans as I write, so they’re top of mind. But If you’d like to see them styled, I wore them in Paris here.
- I wore this chartreuse Destree clutch in Paris over and over again. I had the pleasure of meeting Geraldine, the founder of the brand, and got to try on a few pieces from the new collection. I can confirm this jacket is fantastic!
- A lot of skirts! As Miuccia Prada has famously said “the skirt is like a t-shirt.” In which, I actually love to wear the two together to style them casual for day. I think this is a fantastic skirt under $100 for fall.
- Speaking of t-shirts, one of my go-to brands, Perfect White Tee, has this three pack (white, grey, & black) that’s got your staples covered.
- This new-to-me knitwear brand, Alexandra Golovonoff. I wore in Paris here and here.
- I’ve worn this Sonia Petroff belt at least five times in Paris. Everyone thinks it’s vintage!
What I’m Buying
- You cannot miss the Reformation x Alexa Chung collection. This velvet pink jacket is already on its way to me. But maybe consider this, this, and this.
- This Alemais moire print with colorful bows is my favorite from their new collection. It comes in a long straight dress, a top & skirt, and a mini dress. I went with the long straight dress for party season ahead.
- This Liberowe coat is giving Chanel vibes and I want to style it with a white tee and jeans. (It would also look great with these pants.) The dress version is pretty fantastic too.
- I saw this new mini gold La Veste skirt on someone at their Paris popup and was sold immediately.
- This Ralph Lauren skirt is beyond chic for fall/winter. I’ll style it with a black turtleneck and tall boots.
- I saw this gold Kallmeyer jacket on both Lauren Santo Domingo and Lisa Aiken in Paris. I think it’s safe to say, it’s a good one. There’s also a coordinating skirt.
- I ordered a few new homeware items for the bookshelves in our kitchen (tour here). Here are a few things I purchased:
- Tabitha Simmons x Cabana just launched and it’s the chicest setting for Thanksgiving!
- This lavender lace set feels Valentino but much less: top & skirt.

What I’m Eyeing
- Coming from Paris fashion week, pretty much everything I’m eyeing is for next spring/summer. Such a tease! One of my favorite shows was Dries Van Noten, which is no surprise here. And thankfully, we can pre-order an edit of the collection on Moda here to scratch that itch of wanting to participate in the collection now. Two pieces I haven’t been able to get out of my mind – this necklace and this one. I also made a list of my favorites from it here.
- The Blazy craze continues, and like most of the internet, I loved the collection. My camera roll is filled with zoomed in screenshots and texts to my Chanel sales associate.
- I also really loved the Celine show. I dabbled in a few Celine pieces here and there over the years, but I really love what Micheal Ryder is doing with the collection. It feels minimal and cool but with so much more personality. These shoes, the pink bag (in this carousel), and these red and purple wedges (so chic!)
- The new Harris Tapper collection has a dreamy blue for winter and this padded coat is my favorite piece.
- This Magda Butrym bag is sitting in my cart. The color and fabric is delicious and I love the size for day and night.
- This Carolina Herrera cocoon leopard coat has been living in my mind for about a month and after seeing a really chic woman in Paris wearing the cropped one, I think I’m convinced. Although I am more partial to the longer style, so now I’m torn!
- This stunning colorful Gabriela Hearst coat from their latest runway show.
- A brand that I recently discovered called Sanne– this is my favorite piece.

Brown leather jacket, 9 ways: Outfit ideas for every style
If you have budget for one new outerwear piece this season, put the brown leather jacket on your shortlist. It’s classic, versatile, and nearly always on point. Plus, there’s plenty of celebrity validation: Lana Del Rey and her hubby both donned brown leather jackets to the Ralph Lauren Fall 2026 fashion show in New York City. Hailey Beiber, Selena Gomez, and Emma Watson have also worn the style.
- Brown leather jackets work across multiple silhouettes, including moto, bomber, café racer, blazer, trucker, and fringe styles.
- Pair brown leather with black, cream, denim, or layered neutrals, or create contrast by mixing leather with satin and feminine prints.
- Change the jacket’s mood with pieces you already own: skinny jeans add edge, wide-leg pants create polish, and skirts or dresses soften the look.
Note: This post contains AI-generated images. See AI policy.

Here are nine inspiring outfits that prove the brown leather jacket for women has transitioned from trend into a full-fledged wardrobe essential.
1. Make it count with a moto

A brown fitted moto jacket has a classic edge. Double down on that vibe by pairing it with modern black skinny jeans, a white tee, and ankle boots. Use the boot style to adjust the edginess of the look: Sleek boots with a pointed toe add sophistication, while lug boots feel more punk.
2. Supersize with a slouchy bomber

The oversized trend has adopted more balance lately, but you can still play with larger shapes. If you’re comfortable baring your middle, an oversized bomber pairs nicely with a cropped hoodie atop a casual jogger and chunky sneakers. And if you’re feeling bold, mix two colors that don’t normally “go together” like grey and brown. This outfit works for gym-going and errand-running.
3. Take fringe mainstream

Fringe has gone mainstream — meaning you can wear it without branding yourself as a cowgirl or a festivalgoer. Turn heads by pairing a brown leather fringed jacket with a white tee, straight-leg jeans and ankle boots. Keep the boots sleek and classy so the combo comes off as easy and sophisticated versus overdone.
4. Try brown with black

When you tire of the standard color combinations, try pairing brown and black. This duo works well together when you do it intentionally. Get that look by leaning into contrast (with a brown that’s not too dark) and letting one color dominate.
In practice, you could pair a well-fitted cognac leather jacket layered over a black column dress, sheer black tights, and knee-high black boots. A simple pair of gold hoops ties everything together.
5. Layer neutrals

In the cooler months, layering neutrals is an easy go-to strategy that delivers warmth and style. A brown leather jacket with shearling accents goes beautifully with an oatmeal sweater. Dark jeans and tall boots anchor the outfit. You can opt for black boots if that’s what you have or brown, which creates a slightly softer vibe.
6. Swap in brown leather for your blazer

A tidy brown leather jacket can transform a ho-hum work outfit into something spectacularly polished. The trick is keeping the styling simple and classic from head to toe, including the jacket. A scoop-neck top, wide-leg pants, and pumps are perfect companions to a chocolate-brown café racer jacket.
7. Play with luxe textures

You can get tons of use from a brown leather blazer, for work and play. If you want to try something different, wear it with a cream satin skirt and pointed pumps. The appeal here is in the contrast: Leather is structured and tough, while satin in fluid and glossy. Note that you don’t need much in the way of accessories, since the matte leather and shiny satin do that work for you.
Read next: How to mix textures in an outfit like a pro
8. Mix masculine and feminine

You commonly see the boxy trucker jacket in denim or corduroy, but it takes a more upscale tone in leather. The style makes a fabulous companion to a midi dress, especially one with a girly ruffle or floral pattern. The masculine-meets-feminine pairing is another proven contrast formula that creates balance for both pieces.
9. Let your legs take center stage

Your legs are the focal point when you wear a mini skirt, and it creates a more playful dynamic vs. wearing pants or a long dress. If you have any reservations about baring that much skin, add sheer black tights — they keep the vibe but add a veil of coverage. The brown leather jacket comes in as the topper over a tee, and you can anchor the look with chunky loafers.
The Budget Fashionista takeaway
The moto, bomber, blazer, trucker, and café racer all make different statements, but the styling formula is the same — start with clothes you already love, add the brown leather, and let the jacket change the mood.

Why the Leather Jacket Is Everywhere This Autumn — And How to Actually Wear One
There is one item dominating autumn wardrobes this season, and it comes with a warning label: the leather jacket looks effortlessly cool on the hanger and surprisingly difficult on an actual human body. Fashion insiders, stylists and even seasoned editors are admitting what shoppers have long suspected — a leather jacket does not so much complement an outfit as take it over.
That tension is at the heart of why this particular garment keeps resurfacing every few years, then quietly retreating to the back of the closet. It looks powerful in a shop window, decisive on a mood board, and then somehow turns its wearer into a prop for the jacket rather than the other way around. As one veteran fashion commentator recently put it, leather simply has more physical presence than other fabrics — it enters a room before you do.
The funnel-neck leather jacket takes over
This season’s version isn’t the classic biker silhouette associated with motorbikes and old Marlon Brando photographs. Instead, the look driving demand is a generously cut, funnel-necked leather jacket, often zipped or buttoned high, sometimes nearly to the chin. The style traces back to Phoebe Philo, whose eponymous label made dramatic funnel-neck outerwear a signature piece when it launched in 2023. Since then the silhouette has trickled down from quiet-luxury labels to mainstream high-street racks, turning up everywhere from directional designer collections to accessible chain stores.
What’s notable is how counterintuitive the styling rules have become. Conventional wisdom suggests a snug, cropped leather jacket would be easier to pull off than a bulky one — less fabric, less drama, less risk. In practice, the opposite seems to be true this year. A roomier cut reads as more elegant and less costume-like than a tight one, allowing air and movement between body and garment rather than a vacuum-sealed, armoured look. Similarly, a high funnel neck, despite adding more material around the face, ends up looking more refined than a traditional low collar, because it draws a clean vertical line upward instead of the swagger-heavy stance of an open biker jacket.
Styling a leather jacket without losing yourself
Hair, apparently, matters more than most people realise. Long, loose hair tends to look thin and flat against the bulk of a leather jacket, so a neat ponytail or a deliberately undone bun reads far better than hair left hanging over the collar. Tucking hair inside the jacket is a styling trick associated with Philo herself, though it carries some risk of looking as though you’ve accidentally zipped yourself in rather than made a choice.
Bottom-half pairings deserve just as much thought. Leather trousers or a leather skirt worn with a leather jacket might work on a pop star or a runway model, but for most people it tips the look from “chic” into “upholstered.” Even the reflexive instinct to default to denim is worth questioning — jeans and a leather jacket is a reliable combination, but not necessarily the most interesting one, and can flatten a look that’s trying to feel considered rather than default.
The broader lesson, really, is about proportion and restraint rather than any single rule. A leather jacket asks to be the star of an outfit, and trying to fight it with equally bold pieces elsewhere tends to create visual noise rather than a cohesive look. Treating it instead as a strong anchor — paired with soft, quieter fabrics below, simple hair, and minimal competing texture — lets the jacket do its job without swallowing the person wearing it.
Why the trend has staying power
Part of what makes the leather jacket moment feel different this time is its migration away from rebellious signalling and toward something closer to tailoring. The funnel-neck cut has less of the open-road, bad-boy attitude of a classic biker jacket and more of a sculptural, almost architectural quality. That shift in meaning — from rebellion to refinement — may explain why a garment with such a loaded cultural history is suddenly showing up in so many wardrobes that would never have reached for a motorcycle jacket a decade ago.
Ultimately, the appeal of a good leather jacket lies in that same tension that makes it tricky: it asks for confidence rather than fuss. Worn with the right proportions, the right hair, and a willingness to let it lead, this season’s leather jacket can look like armour that actually flatters — rather than a fire door standing between you and the rest of the room.
