Former ESPN college football analyst David Pollack revealed an unforeseen update in his wife Lindsey’s battle with brain cancer. 

“Her oncologist called me Friday during our HS football game,” David, 44, shared via X on Sunday, October 18. “He left a voicemail that said this, Um, the results came back stunning.  Like, no tumor. I mean, it’s, it’s, we don’t completely understand it.  But give me a call and I’ll explain what we think maybe going on and tell you how we resume.”

David continued, “He doesn’t understand, but we do… GOD and PRAYER!!!! Thank you for faithfully praying! WHAT A GOD!! ❤️🙌🏻”

Lindsey was diagnosed with brain cancer in March 2025. She underwent a brain biopsy, her third brain cancer surgery, at Duke University on September 23. 

“Man I hope this encourages someone in the battle today,” David added. “Thank you isn’t enough to all of you that have been praying for us. No greater gift you can give someone.”

Lindsey provided her own update via Instagram on Saturday, October 17. 

“My doctor said that they were getting the results, but they kept sending it back to be tested again because they hadn’t seen anything like this and had no explanation,” she wrote. “The tumor just isn’t there that they thought they had biopsied. He didn’t answer my prayers when I wanted, but in His time, and it was all the more sweet! Medicine doesn’t understand, but we do… GOD and PRAYER!!!!”

The phone call from Lindsey’s doctor came during Tackle Cancer Night at her son Nicholas’ high school football game. Nicholas, 18, is a senior tight end at North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia. Lindsey and David also share daughter Leah, 16. 

Lindsey explained that David had been proactive about sharing every step of her cancer journey  “because he wanted prayer and the body of believers stormed the gates of Heaven on our behalf! I cannot express the gratitude that I feel for all the prayers said for me and my family.”

Last month, David shared an update after his wife’s third surgery. 

“To me there is nothing better you can give someone than your prayers,” David shared via X. “Thank you all so much for your prayers. They are felt. Out of surgery and doing great. Step 1 ✅.”

When Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) dumped Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) over her corporate espionage, Gwen and Philip had a bit of a moment, bonding over books about heartbreak. And there seemed to be a little potential there. And Gwen thought he was still single.

But then Philip turned down Gwen’s suggestion that they play strip poker in her hotel room. She was fascinated to hear about Philip’s big wins in Monte Carlo. But when Philip told Gwen that he’s back with Gabi, Gwen quickly backed off of the offer of her naughty game of Texas Hold’em. And she told Philip that she definitely did not want to deal with Gabi’s wrath.

DOOL: Gwen’s History with Xander

So, we also know the guy that Gwen really wants is Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer). He and Gwen have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2021. They were at the altar at one point. And recently, Xander started sleeping with Gwen in a friends-with-benefits arrangement while he was split up from Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). That went south because he was shagging Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) on the side. To be fair, Xander told Gwen it was just physical. And she told Xander it’s fine. It’s just cheeky fun.

But let’s be real, Gwen had feelings for him all along. And Xander still has feelings for his ex-wife, Sarah. Our leaker told us Gwen and Xander’s thing would be short-lived. And that was because Sarah and Xander were on the path to a reunion. They’re still on it. With Sarah and Xander both moving back into the Kiriakis mansion soon to co-parent cute little Victoria Horton-Kiriakis, I think things are going to turn a corner for them soon. And don’t forget, a few years ago, Gwen had a brief rebound fling with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) as well. But that lasted just a hot minute.

Days of Our Lives: Gwen and Dimitri’s Bitter Breakup

Aside from Xander, the man that Gwen’s fallen hardest for was her ex-husband, Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera (Peter Porte). We saw Gwen just head over heels for Dimitri, because he was gaslighting and scamming her so he could get his inheritance. And then Gwen caught him shagging her bestie, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), on their honeymoon.

That turned into bitter revenge when Gwen had Dimitri kidnapped and contrived a breakup between him and Leo. And now Gwen’s happy to be done with Dimitri. She’s enjoying that big, fat divorce settlement. She’s got all this money. But that doesn’t keep her sheets warm at night.

And since we have a new DiMera coming to town, because Dominic Marino is Stefano DiMera‘s (Joseph Mascolo) son, that’s pretty interesting given Gwen’s history with the DiMera men. Back when she came to town for revenge, she had a one-night stand with her brother-in-law, Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd). That was in early 2021, if you remember. Back then, he was still married to Gwen’s sister, Abigail Deveraux DiMera (AnnaLynne McCord), before she was brutally murdered.

And because of that one-night stand with Chad, Gwen wound up pregnant. But then she later miscarried. And bottom line, Gwen was only with Chad to hurt Abigail. She wasn’t really that romantically interested in Chad. But he wasn’t the only DiMera in her life, because Gwen had been involved with Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash), aka Jake DiMera. But he didn’t know at the time he was a DiMera, because he and Gwen dated before either of them came to Salem.

Days of Our Lives: Gwen’s History with Jake

Jake and Gwen rekindled in Salem in 2020 and became lovers again. And Gwen deliberately drove a wedge between Jake and Gabi. So, I think that’s part of why Gwen is hesitant to get between Gabi and Philip. Now, basically, Gwen’s just had bad luck with love over and over. Xander was probably the closest thing she felt to true love. But that was messy because he never stopped loving Sarah. So, now Gwen’s totally alone, other than her bestie, Leo.

And let’s not forget Gwen tangled with another DiMera. Although she and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) never hit the sheets, he and Gwen were deeply involved. They were united by Dimitri’s kidnapping and spending all his money on the secret lab to develop the Coriseal resurrection drug. And that didn’t work out.

Days of Our Lives: Who’s Left for Gwen in Salem?

There doesn’t seem to be anybody in Salem at this point who would date Gwen. We know Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is single. And his romantic track record is as bad as hers. But I don’t think Gwen is exactly his type, or vice versa. Not only that, but Rafe ruined her bid to buy the hospital from EJ.

We also have Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), who’s going to be single soon. He’s in a relationship with Sarah now. But that’s doomed, because Sarah is going to be back with Xander sooner rather than later. And yeah, Brady’s a total hunk. And he does have a soft spot for bad girls. So, I will say there’s some potential there. Plus, Gwen really dislikes Kristen for sleeping with Xander behind her back. So, her getting with Brady might be something to consider for later.

Why Dominic Could Be Gwen’s Perfect Match in DOOL

But there is a hot new bachelor ready to hit the streets of Salem. That’s Dominic Marino, the mysterious billionaire, allegedly the son of Stefano and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). So, Gwen may find out that Dominic is just the kind of guy she wants. He’s rich. He’s scheming to take down EJ, which Gwen would love to see. She doesn’t mind a bad boy. So, Gwen might be drawn to Dominic for the intrigue. And the fact that he’s wealthy in his own right and won’t be trying to take her money on Days of our Lives.

Plus, there is the chance that Gwen would like to be attached to somebody who’s planning to take over Salem. Gwen might love to couple up with Dominic to rub all of this in EJ’s face. Plus, Gwen can share secrets with Dominic about EJ and the other DiMeras that he might be very interested to learn. After EJ double-crossed Gwen with the Versix’s miracle serum, she hates the guy. And EJ threatened her to keep him as Gwen’s silent partner in her hospital purchase.

Days of Our Lives: EJ Gets Rude Awakening

So, somebody coming in to kick EJ’s butt and put him in his place is somebody that Gwen would love to know. So, I do wonder if Dominic and Gwen might hook up when he arrives in Salem, which is supposed to be soon, maybe during November sweeps. Right now, EJ’s got a lot on his plate, including betrayals from Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) and his son, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).

But EJ hasn’t forgotten Gwen’s dead man’s switch letter, which means EJ might circle back around looking for revenge on Gwen. And if she teams up with Dominic, that might make her untouchable where EJ is concerned.

Days of Our Lives: Could Gwen and Kristen Team Up?

I also expect Kristen to take Dominic’s side in the coming DiMera civil war, because right now she also despises EJ. So, we could see Gwen and Kristen setting aside their differences to both work with Dominic against EJ, with Gwen playing the role of Dominic’s lover and Kristen playing the role of avenging big sister.

We know that Kristen is back in town this week to visit Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote) after her emergency appendectomy. After that, sure, we could see Kristen creep away quietly, or she may stick around till Dominic shows up, or Kristen leaves and then shows back up with Dominic. The only reason that Kristen left was because EJ was going to dump her onto an island. In the end, I think it would be a whole lot of fun to see Gwen have a fulfilling romance, even if it is with a villain like Dominic Marino.

As mentioned, Britney Spears hopped on Instagram to share her love for Janet Jackson as a performing artist. She shared a photo of Janet Jackson inside what appeared to be a studio. In her lengthy caption, she explained why she’s been fascinated by Janet since she was 13.

Chile! Roomies, know that fear of someone’s food giving you bubble guts? Well, it appears at least 19 people ended up in the hospital with suspected food poisoning after eating at a work potluck last week. The incident, per local reports, happened at a Walmart distribution center in Tennessee.

Potluck Shook By Foodborne Illness Outbreak

While 19 people were hospitalized with the food-related illness, up to 30 individuals were triaged, says reporting from PEOPLE. Moreover, emergency responders said at least 80 people were impacted. WTVF first reported that the party-wide sickness began after a potluck meal in the Walmart distribution center in Tennessee.

Employees Called 911

Released 911 phone calls revealed that one person at the Walmart distribution center called about an employee vomiting and feeling fatigued in the bathroom. Also, a second call informed officials that the illness was spreading to other employees. “…currently sitting at 28 affected associates, and we have at least four that are very ill,” the caller said, per WTVF. A second ambulance was reportedly sent to the scene.

Additionally, a caller told 911 that the illness could be “from homemade rice that was brought into the facility.” However, health officials are still investigating the cause and haven’t confirmed the rice was the origin. The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed the investigation, but gave no specific updates about the cause or food.

Walmart Reacts To The Incident

The retailer reportedly released a statement addressing what happened at it’s Tennessee distribution center. Also, it clarified that the illness did not come from its products and that the public aren’t at risk. They’re cooperating with the investigation, reported WTVF.

“The health and safety of our associates is a top priority. We’re working with local emergency management and health officials as they investigate.”

What Is Von Miller’s Chicken Farm?

Miller’s farm is Greener Pastures Chicken, a pasture-raised poultry company in Texas. And the idea was hatched long before he was a household name.

As a student at Texas A&M, Miller took a meat-production class that got him hooked on poultry farming, he told Entrepreneur. Years later, while he was still dominating on the field, he turned that interest into a real business.

And he’s got some serious backup. Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees and Nick Foles have all invested in the company.

That’s a lineup of championship rings most startups could only dream of. And it’s helped put Greener Pastures on the map well beyond Texas.

How Are Chickens Raised at Von Miller’s Chicken Farm?

Think less factory farm and more open-air retreat. Chicks start out in a brooder for their first few weeks, then head outside once they can regulate their own body temperature, according to the farm’s website.

From there, the birds move to fresh pasture every single day. They forage for grass, insects and grit, chow down on certified-organic feed and are raised without antibiotics or added hormones.

All that roaming does double duty. The chickens’ manure feeds the soil, microorganisms break it down, the pasture gets a breather and the birds later return to healthier ground. Greener Pastures describes it as a setup where “healthy birds and healthy land can work together.”

Miller isn’t shy about showing it off. He’s called the farm a “country club for chickens” and told Entrepreneur he wants people “to see everything” because “there’s nothing to hide.”

Is Greener Pastures Chicken Regenerative Organic Certified?

Yes, and it’s a big deal. Greener Pastures earned Regenerative Organic Certified status in 2026, and the Regenerative Organic Alliance lists it at the Silver level.

ROC is like organic with a bonus round. It starts with USDA Organic rules, then adds extra standards for soil health, animal welfare and social fairness. On Miller’s farm, rotational grazing keeps the soil healthy. Wide-open pasture lets the chickens act like chickens. And the birds themselves help recycle nutrients back into the land.

Is Greener Pastures Chicken Halal?

Yes. The farm is also Halal certified, as of September 2026, through the Halal Food Standards Alliance of America, and the company says it hand-processes its chickens according to Halal requirements.

Having both seals puts Greener Pastures in rare company. A company press release shared through the National Restaurant Association Show called it one of the few U.S. poultry producers with both ROC and Halal certification.

“Foodservice operators are asking for poultry they can trust. Our ROC and Halal certifications formally validate the production standards we’ve delivered all along,” Neil Dudley, Greener Pastures’ EVP of sales and marketing, said in the release.

The two certifications check different boxes. But together, they give buyers a fuller look at how farms raise, handle and process their chickens.

What Does Von Miller’s Farm Mean for Regenerative Agriculture?

It’s proof the movement is growing up fast. Regenerative Organic Certified products got their start in categories like rice, coffee and produce. But now the label is now popping up across more of the grocery store.

Elizabeth Whitlow, former executive director of the Regenerative Organic Alliance, told Organic Produce Network that ROC “is not intended to replace USDA Organic but to set a new standard for what’s possible in our food and farming systems.”

Greener Pastures gives that new standard a famous face. With Miller and Mahomes attached, regenerative agriculture could land on the radar of sports fans who’ve never given a second thought to where their chicken comes from.

Jake Bauers and the Milwaukee Brewers are in full celebration mode in the aftermath of their shocking sweep of the two-time-defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers to punch their ticket to the 2026 Fall Classic.

Bauers, 31, was named MVP of the National League Championship Series on Thursday, October 15, days after he credited his wife, Lauren, for his success. CBS58 Milwaukee reporter Lance Allen caught up with Lauren during the celebration, where she expressed her pride in her husband.

“I’m not surprised that he’s giving credit to everybody else because they do deserve it, too,” she said. “There’s so many guys tonight and every night [who] have put this team where they are, but he’s built himself to be the man that he is and the baseball player that he is so he does deserve it.”

Jake hit .286 in the NLCS with his biggest hit coming in the seventh inning of Game 3, when his two-run home run put the Brewers ahead, 3-2. He admitted in an interview with Fox Sports after the game that he almost retired after the 2024 season, a year in which he hit under .200.

“To be completely honest with you, the only thing that brought me back was that my wife got pregnant,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Well alright, we need health insurance for these kids.’ So that’s what brought me back.”

Jake and Lauren share daughter Marlee, 2, and welcomed a second child in 2025, whose name they have not revealed.

He also credited his wife before Game 2 for allowing him to chase his baseball dreams as they started their family.

“There’s a lot of people I can give credit to, a lot on the staff here for sure, but also I was thinking a lot about my wife,” he told reporters. “We have two kids, and she’s holding it down at home by herself a lot of the time, which it’s a lot. Those kids, they’re a blessing and we love them, but man, they’re a handful.”

Jake continued, “For her to do that and for her to allow me the opportunity to come here and kind of keep going and just support me any way she can, it’s been crazy. It’s been crazy to see her growth as a woman and a mom.”

He added, “I was standing out there last night listening to the national anthem, and I was thinking about her and just she stuck by me this whole time when it wasn’t always easy. I wasn’t always the best husband. I wasn’t always the best father.”

The Brewers will take on either the Tampa Bay Rays or Cleveland Guardians in the 2026 World Series, which begins Friday, October 23.
