Juventus are ready to step up talks with Liverpool over a possible move for Federico Chiesa, with a formal proposal expected to be submitted in the coming hours.

According to reports from Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are preparing to outline their intentions to the Premier League side, aware that they will need to improve the terms in order to meet Liverpool’s demands.

The structure of the deal is set to remain a loan, but Juventus are working to convert the option to buy into an obligation, with specific conditions attached.

Juventus ready formal proposal for Chiesa return

Juventus would like the permanent transfer to be triggered based on Chiesa’s number of appearances, a safeguard designed to assess both his physical condition and his tactical fit after returning to an environment he knows well, but one that has changed significantly since his departure.

The negotiations remain complex for two main reasons. First, Liverpool are reluctant to part with the winger at this stage.

Secondly, Juventus are waiting for the return of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah from the Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt have reached the semi-finals, meaning Salah is not expected back until at least next week, which could prove decisive for Chiesa’s situation.

Alongside talks between the clubs, Juventus must also reach an agreement with the player over personal terms. Chiesa is keen on a return to Turin, which could ease negotiations, but an agreement on wages is not yet in place and remains another key step.
