Israel Adesanya is set to make a stunning return to the UFC Octagon on the 28th of March, as confirmed by UFC boss Dana White in a stunning announcement via Instagram on Tuesday.
‘The Last Stylebender,’ a former middleweight champion, has not fought in almost a year and will hope to rebound from a three-fight losing skid, having challenged for the title as the pound-for-pound No.1-ranked fighter in the entire organization during his prime years on the roster.
Adesanya is renowned for his brutal war with Kelvin Gastelum, knockout win against Robert Whittaker, and his rivalries with Paulo Costa and particularly Alex Pereira, but after losses to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov, Adesanya has had to regroup and, should he triumph in his return in the coming months, could launch another run at the middleweight title.
Speaking on the 13th of January, White confirmed who he’ll be fighting.
