‘Lazio players don’t want Sarri’
Lazio President Claudio Lotito assures ‘Maurizio Sarri enjoys the full faith of the club’ after audio was leaked of him saying the players ‘want to leave because they don’t want the coach.’
The tension continues to rise at the Stadio Olimpico, where the Aquile are struggling with problems on and off the field.
A statement from Lotito this afternoon insists Lotito is “sincerely surprised by the distorted way some of my words were taken, extrapolated and released without any real context.
“I want to be clear once and for all: there are no players against the coach at Lazio. Maurizio Sarri enjoys the full faith of the club, along with the total availability and respect of the squad.”
Lotito caught confessing Lazio tension with Sarri

This was a response to the latest incident where a phone call between President Lotito and a supporter was published online, this time by Instagram page Palla O Campo.
There was a series of insults between them, including Lotito calling the fan “a peasant, you probably don’t even have a house” and rejecting the idea Lazio are short on funds.
It then got to the part that has caused the most shockwaves.

“You sell players for €60m and buy them for €30m, the coach doesn’t even know why he’s there, the players want to leave. These are facts,” said the Lazio supporter.
“The players want to leave because they don’t want the coach. They are angry with the coach,” replied Lotito.
Surprisingly, it is not the first time that the President has allowed himself to be recorded in audio conversations with supporters who were critical and insulting.
